Rustic elegance themed brunch cafe. Crepes are good, coffee is good, service is good. What more to ask? Nothing. Don't feel like having heavy meal? Pastries are perfect alternative. Parking lot on side of building. Street parking also available. It gets busy on the weekends but not impossible to find a table (has patio out back).
One of my favorite places fast easy ordering. Calm and cozy environment. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Great fresh food comes out hot all the time! You can grab your own coffee as you wait or have it hand crafted by the staff. Ten out of ten! This place is so charming!
Things seemed a bit....off on this visit. I get the quiche and tomato soup frequently. The soup was still amazing but the quiche? Meh, at best. I've never been served burned quiche before. For the record, I think it's just a glitch. This is the first time I've been disappointed at La Belle Vie.
We checked this place out on a Thursday around noon. Upon entry, it's a little confusing where to go. People who had already ordered we're looking at the pastry case. We couldn't get past them, so we walk around to order, but then it felt like while we were in the way of the staff. Service was very friendly and warm. We ordered southwest omelette with gluten free toast (bonus!), potatoes, pick 2 turkey Brie sandwich/red pepper Gouda soup. It was all delicious. Cons: no ambiance music, just a tv with a screensaver on We drove from STL city to try this place because it was on a best breakfast list. While it was decent and the menu is up my alley, it's doubtful we'll return because of distance and it didn't have a wow factor we felt we needed to come back to. I'd recommend it if you're in the area though!
Going off food alone, they'd easily be five stars. Absolutely incredibly breakfast food that was worth the wait! We sat outside on the back patio (very cute little set up with ample shade!), because the inside was so packed. The inside is so gorgeous with lots of seating as well. There were board games to play, which is a nice touch! Pricing was decent for a little place like this. What bummed us out was the service. It took nearly 50 minutes to order, as you order at the front and then they bring you your food at your table. We were visiting with family so we didn't mind, but we were there for a total of nearly 2.5 hours with five people. Our poor waitress was very overwhelmed. We will be back, though. I believe it was just a bad day because the food was that good! Hope to give them another shot!
The food was great. Hits the spot! You can taste the freshness and feel the love in the dish. Service is very very warm. Its has a very welcoming vibe. From the barista, the cashier even the the customers, are all engaging. Its in French town, and it captures the vibe of the town. We came from the west coast attending a tournament, looking for a post office and just literally an accidental find... and an amazing find indeed.
This place is just WOW! I am kicking myself for not trying it a WHOLE lot sooner!! I met a friend for lunch this past week and we were both very, very satisfied with our experience. This place is the perfect combination of cute and cozy, and very comfortable for a gathering with friends or a solo work session. The staff was stellar and every single staff member was polite, helpful, and smiling! I enjoyed a classic macchiato, which arrived quickly and was made perfectly. My friend got a regular cup of coffee (self-serve with free refills) and seemed to enjoy hers as well. Now for the food: We each enjoyed a "pick 2" and both left satisfied and looking forward to coming back to try more! The portion sizes were perfect for lunch and everything was delicious. I highly recommend the strawberry avocado salad if you're keeping it light, but the turkey brie sandwich is a standout as well. My friend was a little unsure of the seedy bread in her French onion soup but said aside from that her meal was fabulous and that she would recommend the French dip to ANYONE and everyone. Overall one of the best lunch spots I have found in St. Charles, and I can't wait to go back. GO THERE!

They have a dog friendly patio. You order first, then sit down. The avocado strawberry salad was delicious!! The turkey Brie was great - my only qualm is that gluten free bread already comes extra tiny... so having it halved felt a bit unfair haha!

All of the employees that we encountered were wonderful and polite. The food... Was absolutely delicious! They have a large selection to choose from for breakfast and lunch.

First timer, we arrived around 1:30pm for lunch. I ordered a chai latte and we shared the California Chicken and Chipotle Ranch flatbread. This item has loads of great flavors. It has grilled chicken, bacon, mozzarella cheese, avocado, red pepper, olive oil, cilantro and they drizzle chipotle ranch dressing on top. Very tasty and very filling. I enjoyed eating this great tasting flatbread. I highly recommend it. My chai latte was delicious. It can be a dessert because it is sweet and refreshing. This is a cute restaurant with a lot of character. They have an outdoor patio or indoor dining. Very friendly and helpful staff.
What a cute gem in St. Charles! Another spot I had been wanting to visit for a while and although it was very hot this morning, we made our way! Not a lot of parking, but lots of street parking and it's in a very walkable neighborhood. This place is order first, and then find a seat! And there is plenty of seating inside and in their covered patio! They have the menus all up front for you: breakfast and lunch, kid's menu, and drink menu. We ordered: Croque Madame Crepe - standard crepe, but w all the croque Madame fixings! The ham was soo good in this The Lake Bake - poached eggs on HASH BROWNS! Great seasoning on the potatoes. Just Cheese Flatbread - my 3 year old loved it! Orange Juice Cold Brew w milk Apple Juice I loved our breakfast! It was simple and filling! The atmosphere here is so lovely so I recommend visiting. It is also huge space. The further you go in, the more seating there is and a covered patio as well! The breakfast we ordered didn't come with any sides but it was still very filling and big portions! My son loved his flatbread. The staff here was also super nice! read more

Came for Monte Cristo but menu has changed, so tried Viva La Crepe which is just as good for me. Satisfying but not too heavy, just the way I like it. Paired with mocha beautifully done. My companions had lake bake and French toast. Service and ambience were both great as usual. Fast and pleasant. No loud music which is sweet to my soul. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this place. It had an excellent combination of coffee, food, service, and environment. Finding this place wasn't difficult as there are large signs outside. However, you either get lucky enough to get parking on the side lot or you'll have to rely on street parking. As you walk in, the place is very cozy with plenty of tables. There is also an excellent outdoor seating area with a backyard patio feel. The bathrooms are large and very clean. Service is very fast. You have to order at the front and they get very busy, so waiters won't be able to take your order once you're sitting. In case you need something like water, it's self-serve at the patio outside. Now the food - I ordered a cappuccino and it was good quality coffee. Honestly, hard to get wrong with fresh ground beans. I also ordered a Monte Cristo Crepe. I devoured it because of how delicious it was. It was a mix of savory and sweet and I was scraping up the drizzle as I finished my plate. Perhaps my favorite thing is how relaxed the place is. I sat there for hours out at the patio with my laptop and got a lot of work done thanks to their free wifi. If you need a quiet place to work, hang out with friends, or just want a nice place to eat this it absolutely the place to come to. read more

Cute cafe and I was able to park in their lot vs street parking. This is my 2nd visit and I did the pick 2. Last time I ordered the roasted pepper Gouda soup and I had to get it again. It did not disappoint. It's rich and flavorful. I had the turkey & bri sandwich, which was very delicious as well. My friend got the quiche Lorraine and she loved it along with a fruity pebbles iced coffee. There were plenty of tables on a Wednesday late morning visit. read more

Mark is amazing (he's the owner) everyone that works there, seems to like their job to where it gives off a family vibe. The food: well where do I begin. Lemon blueberry crepe is my new favorite over the chocolate raspberry. They're delicious brown butter crepes. The lake bake has all the stuff in it. Must try the jalapeño popper sandwich. So many lattes to choose from, oh and a blueberry mule, so yummy! I can go on and on but you just have to see this perfect French town homey restaurant for yourself! It's a must go to place read more

Checked out La Belle Vie for brunch this morning with friends. Great atmosphere to relax and enjoy some great food while catching up. Plenty of spaces to grab a seat either to catch up, work, or just read a book and sip some coffee. Service was friendly and consistent. The food at our table included quiche, the hash (had sweet porosities and regular potatoes), country omelet, and the Monte Cristo crepe. Everything had great flavor!! Would recommend it all, but the hash seasoning was a party in your mouth. The coffee and chai were great way to get a morning kick of caffeine. Stop in to check them out in Frenchtown St. Charles, you will not be disappointed. read more
where has this café been all my life? I grabbed breakfast here with a friend and I was so impressed. I had the most delicious iced caramel latte followed by an absolutely delectable breakfast sandwich. The bacon was so crispy and the bread was unreal. I cannot wait to come back and eat more. This is a beautiful cafe! The interior is warm and inviting with plenty of seating. If you go all the way to the back you'll find their beautiful patio and a room with a fire place. They have two beautiful gender neutral bathrooms. Food: We loved the selection and got to sample a good mix of things. I got the pick 2 with the French onion soup and the jalapeño popper sandwich and I loved it. The soup was warm and comforting and loved the cheese pull. The sandwich was hefty and cheesy -- I'm so glad I decided to get the 1/2 sandwich. The rest of my party liked their food but felt the crepe, biscuit w/gravy and the Lake Blake were heavy and lack in flavor. The operation were big and they do have lighter options like salads, soups, and flatbreads so we would probably mix some of these in next time around. The service was great! They have a big menu by the entrance and you can grab a more detailed menu by the entrance that breaks down each item and it's ingredients. You order up front, get a number, and pick your table. read more

Breakfast dates have become my new go-to! La Belle Vie did not disappoint. The Figgins Breakfast Croissant has egg whites, savory pesto, sun dried tomatoes and spinach. It comes with white cheddar, but I asked for it without. It's absolutely delicious and comes with a side of fruit. The Lake Bake is the ultimate comfort food with a nest of hashbrowns topped with sausage, bacon, and two eggs & cheese. Served with toast and gravy! The lattes were EXACTLY what we hoped they would be. The cinnamon flavors made it feel like the holidays in June. Definitely go here for a great breakfast or lunch. There's also a bar with plugs that's perfect if you need to get some work done while enjoying coffee and a pastry! read more

The food was all good. I do wish the cream cheese filling would have been more spread out because some bites would have too much cream cheese and others would have none. The service was good, and our food was served in a timely manner. The overall vibe was a cute, quaint sit down breakfast spot. Food was amazing I loved my toast so much and my friend loved her crepe, the coffee is amazing so much flavor!!!! Service is good you order at the front and the waiter will not disturb you if u are in conversation. The environment is great when I was there, a book club meeting was happening right next to us so you know that people love this place! Will come back again! read more
