Allin's diner is a classic mom and pop diner. It's cozy and small. It was busy when we went on Sunday morning but we were able to sit down right away. We received service immediately and then got our food quickly. I got a breakfast of bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast. I wish there was a menu option to get all of that with a pancake! Overall we had a nice time and prices were very reasonable.

    Short stack was really good.

Allin's has become my go to breakfast joint whenever I find myself in St. Charles. I've been five times now, all on weekdays so I don't know what the weekend crowd is like. The diner is relatively small, but I've never had to wait for a table and there are some seats at the counter to be had as well. My service is always fantastic. I believe the young lady who normally waits on me is named Casey. She's a sweetheart and is everything you want in a diner waitress. I've never had to ask for more of anything as she's always on top of it. I've only eaten breakfast food and it's excellent. Pancakes are solid and the eggs are always cooked correctly. This may also be the only place that asks everytime if you want your bacon done crispy or medium Always spot on and worth the visit.

We were very hungry after an early hockey game at Centene Ice Center at Maryland Heights. And I've always drove past Allin's so it's time to try it today and we were not disappointed.. it's a small diner and the ambiance is great! We tried the Denver omelette, sausage and egg, french toast and my order Eggs Nuevo. Everything tastes ALL good and freshly made! We ate every bit of the food, it's that good. This is a great place! Highly recommended..

What a nice little spot and we were expecting decent food but we were really impressed! The biscuits and gravy were smothered with great flavor, the French toast was the best I've ever had, and the sides were cooked to perfection. The space is smaller so on a weekend fills up quick but it is definitely worth the wait compared to some of the chains in the area.

Super small diner that is tucked away in St Charles - parking is scant, but it's so worth it! Such great food, reasonable prices, my coffee was always being filled up and the staff was super attentive. Look at the Mickey Mouse pancake they have for kids - my son loved it! I can't believe I lived in St Charles for twenty something years and never knew it was there - but I'll definitely be going back every time I visit home!

Diners Breakfast with a side of silver dollar pancakes

Everything was amazing and I walked out satisfied. I drink a lot of water and they did not neglect my need for multiple refills. It was so cute and quaint inside and had a homey feel.

Eclectic warm atmosphere neighborhood old fashioned diner known for hot coffee, breakfast and lunch grill favorites. Today after riding to St. Charles on the Katy Trail, we stopped here's for lunch. Tasty chicken philly cheese steak and Fritos! Fun!

    Yum!!

The chicken cheesesteak sandwich was a spot-hitter!!! And who could turn down the side of Fritos??!! That's not a choice anywhere else!! The waitresses were attentive, and even offered diet soda refills for us to take with us! This tiny local diner is cozy and friendly, with tasty food. The walls are covered with photos of past patrons....look for familiar faces!

Perfect family restaurant for breakfast and lunch. The best breakfast for locals and visitors alike. You have to dine there to get the true experience.

Best breakfast quesadilla I've ever had. Crispy on the outside with delicious goodness on the inside. Very impressive!

Chocolate milk is larger than life. Seriously.

Basic over priced breakfast. So disappointed. $4 cup of coffee. We thought it would be unique diner experience. Nothing special.

So peaceful, beautiful, and the perfect start to our morning! What truly made the experience exceptional was our server, Jenn. She was incredible from start to finish!! She was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful. She made great recommendations, checked on us at all the right times, and went above and beyond in ways you don't see often. My husband is picky about biscuits and gravy, and Jenn kindly brought him a sample of the gravy first to make sure he'd like it...such a small gesture to some people, but truly made it special for my husband. She even sent us off with coffee to go, which we really appreciated!! The food was just as impressive. I had the traditional breakfast. Everything was cooked perfectly, the potatoes were nice and crispy, Jenn recommended the ham, which was so flavorful and perfectly charred, so good!!! My husband ended up loving his biscuits and gravy! Between the amazing service, delicious food, and relaxing riverfront setting, this was easily one of our favorite breakfast experiences. Jenn truly made it memorable, and we'll definitely be asking for her every time we come back. Can't wait to return!!

I had this place in the bookmarks and figured now was the best time to visit. Parking can be an issues in Downtown St. Charles since it is limited to street parking or public parking a few blocks away. We found parking right in front of FPC, mainly because it was a cold, Monday morning. We were greeted immediately, and inside was much smaller than I expected. We got seated right away though, and a good chance to really review the menu. I got a house coffee (delicious), and my husband got a Purple Haze Lemonade. We ended up getting a kid's pancake with bacon and scrambled eggs, Short Rib Breakfast Stack, and a Bomb Burrito. The pancake for my 2 year old was MASSIVE so it was a good day for him lol. The short rib stack was yummy - hash browns with runny eggs and meat on top. The burrito was also pretty good. Our breakfast entrees came with a side order of potatoes and while it was good, it got saltier over time so I might not get that next time. They advertise beignets, so we might go for that next time and try out their lunch menu!

I normally don't like leaving negative reviews, but something felt different this time. When we walked in there was only one other couple dining, and there was noticeable clutter sitting in the corners of the restaurant. It gave the place a different feel than what we remembered from our last visit. I ordered the Creole Breakfast Gravy. The biscuit itself was excellent--light, fluffy, and exactly how a biscuit should be. Unfortunately the gravy was disappointing. It tasted more like regular sausage gravy with a heavy amount of cayenne pepper and Cajun seasoning added to it. The flavors just didn't balance well. My wife ordered the Eggs Benedict. One poached egg was perfect, but the other came out over medium. That's something a trained chef normally wouldn't send out, and it made me feel like the kitchen might have a cook working the line rather than a chef overseeing the dishes. I do want to say the waitress was phenomenal. She was very attentive, friendly, and always made sure our coffee stayed fresh and hot. Her service was definitely the highlight of the visit. We will likely come back again because we know this restaurant can do better. Hopefully the kitchen can correct a few things and bring the consistency back.

Let me start by saying that the food is usually very good. First Watch is one of my favorite breakfast spots, and I visit often. However, today's meal fell short of what I have come to expect. I ordered my usual smoked salmon dish and immediately noticed there was much less salmon on the plate than normal. I also requested that the salmon be cooked a little, as I typically do. When the plate arrived, the portion was noticeably smaller than what I have received on countless previous visits and the salmon was a little hard. In addition, the tomatoes were soggy, which further affected the quality of the meal. I politely mentioned my concerns and asked for more salmon. The manager did attempt to accommodate my request and brought out additional salmon, which I appreciated. However, even after the additional salmon was added, the portion still did not resemble what I am accustomed to receiving when ordering this dish. During our conversation, I was told that adding more salmon would not make much difference because it "shrivels up" when cooked. As someone who orders this meal regularly, that explanation did not align with my past experiences. What disappointed me most was not that a mistake may have been made, but how the concern was handled. As a loyal customer, I wasn't looking for an argument or an explanation. I was simply hoping the manager would acknowledge my concern and ensure I left satisfied. Instead, I felt like I had to defend my own experience with a dish that I order frequently. Additionally, my niece had the same meal. Hers was the same way, but after she saw what happened with me, she didn't even ask for anymore. She just ate it the way it was. At that point, I chose not to make a bigger issue of it and became quiet, but the interaction changed the atmosphere of what was supposed to be an enjoyable birthday breakfast. I will continue to visit First Watch because I generally enjoy the food and have had many positive experiences there. However, I hope this feedback is taken seriously. Customer service is often remembered long after the meal is over, and while I appreciate the manager's attempt to correct the issue, today's experience did not reflect the level of quality or service that has kept me coming back over the years.

I'd suggest that people were there to visit downtown St. Charles, or whatever it's called, which has a certain old-timey charm to it, but everything else was closed--presumably until later in the day, but who knows. That fentanyl is a menace. Parking could be a pain, if it's not the wee hours of the morning on a weekend, and you're not ambulatory enough to walk from a block or two over, and yet you're going to get essentially the equivalent of a milkshake and a donut. Inside is rustic, inviting and larger than you'd think, with an upstairs area that I didn't bother to explore, due to lack of curiosity. We had a larger group and ended up pushing a few smaller tables together, plus a few chairs we borrowed from other tables. No one seemed to mind. The key is not to ask first. That mentality will take you far in both the world of finance and dating. I'm kind of over ordering food from coffee shops, where they're obviously just throwing something in the microwave and charging you $10 for it, but I needed something to eat. I'd just gone for a run. Their burrito looked like the textbook definition of cultural appropriation, but it also looked like it might not be half bad. I had their equivalent of an Egg McMuffin, called Ron's Breakfast Sandwich, or something to that effect. When I hear the name Ron, I of course think of Sasso from Carlito's Way, but that probably says more about me than anything else. I'm assuming he didn't have anything to do with this. Essentially, this was a store-bought English muffin, a surprisingly generous and delicious helping of cheddar cheese, a few slices of seemingly prepackaged black forest ham and a fried egg. It was fine for what it was. Could the egg have been salted, could the muffin have been buttered and could the ham been an actual slice of Canadian bacon, or even better, American bacon? Sure, but I went into this with low expectations. The cheddar was melty and delicious, and weirdly abundant, but processed American cheese would have been more fitting for this kind of sandwich. You'd think a guy named Ron wouldn't object to processed foods. The caramel frappe I had was amazing. I got it with whole milk and whipped cream. I didn't bother to check and see if they charge you extra for whipped cream, which is the kind of crap some of these places have been known to pull. I got the 16 oz instead of the 20 oz, but it was probably still enough to take a day off the end of my life (when I don't need it as much anyway fwiw). Sometimes, when a food item tastes good enough, you can just tell it's not good for you, and that was the case with this drink. It was decidedly rich. I'm never in this part of town, and if I were, it would be at night, natch, but if things ever get to the point where they're clearly trending in that direction, I might start stopping by on the reg and getting that caramel frappe just to speed along the process of my demise.

Within minutes, that feeling had disappeared. The martini was perfectly prepared, and the beet and burrata salad was fresh, balanced, and exactly the light meal I was hoping to find. More importantly, the atmosphere accomplished something great restaurants rarely get credit for: it changed my mood. What began as an evening I hadn't planned to spend alone became one I genuinely enjoyed.
