Excellent breakfast and excellent service. A real local place with solid basic breakfast, cooked fresh directly in front of you. Clean, polite and friendly. Limited seating and no tables or booths. Might be cash only. A lot of older working guys on a Saturday morning and waitress/cook seemed to know everyone. Just a nice experience. Looked like they had good biscuits and gravy as well.

Woke up at 6 am on a Saturday...wth...starving. Didn't want to wake anyone up and didn't want to cook or clean it up and needed a part for my old Triumph motorcyle...meaning a trip to The Rock Road. Yelped it and this place was in that area. Glad I did. Food was breakfast...hard to screw up. I view diner food as pretty pretty utilitarian. Eggs over easy...sausage patties...and buttered white toast. It was good. BUT, a heavy dose of Americana early on a Saturday morning (while nursing a slight hangover) was perfect. Like I said...cheap breakfast food, so don't go here and bitch that they don't have hollandaise sauce...they have gravy...get a biscuit. Anyway, I enjoyed listening to the biker/trucker from Southern Missouri talking golf with the 2 seventy year old retired union guys...who were sitting next to the black lady...who was next to the mom and two kids. Loved it.

    Never trust a skinny cook!!!

I absolutely LOVE this place!!! Staff and owner are super friendly and down to earth. These gals really know how to cook a down home good breakfast Prices are extremely reasonable for the amount of food you get. Casual, laid back environment...come as you are This is a must try in Overland...hidden gem They are open 6am-2pm daily....breakfast served all day.

Whiteboard walls with specials. One lady show!!! Handling it. Great old school diner feel!

My fiancé and I just moved to the overland/ breckenridge hills area. Today we took a nice stroll through our neighborhood, into "downtown" overland (which is so cute! And chalk full of so much history!!!) to this cute little diner! One lady working the diner bar; talking orders, cooking the food, and cleaning. She was very friendly! The diner is IMMACULATE! It is very clean! The coffee: great diner-coffee $0.90/cup Most things come a la carte: with add-on options. It is cash only!!!! They have a wide selection of breakfast and lunch/dinner options. I will be back to try the slinger, pancakes, and biscuits and gravy!! We ordered a patty melt, chicken strips, French fries, and chilli. The meal: chicken tenders were good, nice breading and crisp. Chili was delish! I see many winter trips for a bowl of chili! Party melt was on point. Fries were good, unseasoned; but you could watch them go straight from the fryer to your Plate and in front of you in no time, salt was easily added while still got enough for it to stick. We will be back!

Yup, hand peeled taters ready for the grill, your way! Unlike most other dinners in the area, they do NOT use frozen taters out of a bag.

We love this place. What a gem. Of all the dinner we've been to around town, this one is hands-down the best. Hand-peeled, sliced or diced potatoes, yup. Fresh from scratch gravy? Oh yeah! Friendly staff and regulars? You bet! Credit cards accepted? Sorry, this is a cash only establishment so if you want a fantastic breakfast for very little dough, this is the spot to curr tour hangover. Ooh, I almost forgot, they have an outstanding burger and sometimes, on Fridays for lunch, they offer the absolute best pork steaks I've ever had!

George dinner is just a good old dinner. They are kind of high on there price. But the Quality is above average. What hurys most is the price of coffee. For the price you should get a couple of refills. You can go down the street to QT and get double the amount for less

Crows Nest in Maplewood -- the alleged sister to Eat Crow in Soulard -- feels less like a sibling…read moreand more like a distant cousin who borrowed the family recipes and forgot the seasoning. The only real warmth we encountered came from the female host; the rest of the staff delivered service that hovered somewhere between disinterested and "we're doing you a favor by being here." We kicked things off with the fried deviled eggs, which arrived neither fried nor particularly deviled -- just cold little reminders that hope is fleeting. Cocktails landed squarely in "General Public" territory. My Squatty Potty showed up lukewarm, like it had been loitering at the bar contemplating its life choices instead of making it to the table piping hot. A chicken Caesar salad was perfectly fine... if you enjoy playing hide-and-seek with the chicken. The breakfast burger came on an English muffin with what might be the most emotionally unavailable portion of hash brown casserole I've ever seen -- tiny, distant, and gone too soon. Then there's the Scream Burger. Marketed as ghost-pepper spicy, priced like it's the main event, and delivered with all the heat of a polite Midwestern handshake. Dry, bland, and somehow bold enough to charge me an extra dollar for more mayo -- because nothing says "premium burger experience" like a condiment upcharge to make it edible. My husband's Pork Pountine? Imagine fries sprinkled with a few bacon bits like confetti at a party nobody wanted to attend. We came in excited because Eat Crow in Soulard sets the bar high. Unfortunately, Crows Nest feels like it's cooking for someone driving in from Chesterfield who asked the kitchen to "tone it down." If you're craving the real deal, do yourself a favor: go to Soulard. This nest still needs a lot more feathers. And to the influencers calling this place "amazing" -- do better. Honest, authentic reviews help restaurants grow and help diners know what they're walking into. Stop selling hype and start telling the truth.

Upon arriving, the parking lot appeared jammed pack, and you could tell there was a wait. I checked us in to be put on the waiting list. Our wait was about 30 minutes. We were sat at a two top table. A server came over to grab our drink order, and our actual server came over to introduce his self. Our server was polite and willing to answer any questions I had. We waited about 30-40 minutes for our food to come out. I ordered short stack pancakes (w/strawberries and blueberries), bacon and eggs. The pancakes were huge, fluffy, and savory. Bacon was crispy, and eggs were cooked perfectly. My husband ordered a country omelet that came with a side of pancakes. He stated his pancakes were rubbery, but his omelet was good. This place is not very big and can feel quite cramped when full. There's not much room to stretch out, and when people are walking past it feels as if they are all up on you. The building was extremely cold, even with a jacket on. Very filling, and the prices are reasonable!
