Chubby's is a great mom & pop type restaurant, the food is always good. The service is good even with a packed full house. It's just a simple little country restaurant. We enjoy eating here. The new owners deserve read more

Friday nights 4-8pm they have their buffet which is 18.99 (1/22/25) for all you can eat fried chicken, fish, mashed potato/gravy, frog legs, hush puppies, veggies, salad bar and cheesecake! And the food was great for a buffet. My son ordered their chicken tenders and they came out super fast and fresh. He loved them and said the fries were very good. The service here is like you are family as they take VERY good care of you from the moment you walk in. Plus, they bring out freshly baked rolls and throw them to you, which the kids like. So much fun. The place is clean but nothing fancy and worth stopping by for some small town charm. read more

I have been a chubbys customer for years. The service is great the quality of food is lacking big time. Just my opinion I won't eat there anymore. I can cook better food at home read more

Breakfast is great for the money. Lunch and dinner leave a lot to be desired. Great prices, but the quality is that of a public school cafeteria after about 10am. The place needs a large update as the booths/seating are in rough condition at best. I'm sure this will improve in time, but it's sad to see as this place was one a go-to in Lincoln county. Great place to grab a cheap breakfast with friendly staff. read more

Summary: A small town diner where the locals hang out and you can enjoy breakfast or dinner any time of day. Nothing trendy but they have fair prices and filling meals. I wanted a salad. Chubby's conveniently had a soup and salad bar. "Sorry, we don't have soup today." Since they had salad I still got what I wanted. And, I believe Chubby's took a $1 off for the soup's absence. The salad bar was unexceptional--roughly pulled apart iceberg lettuce, a few typical add-ons (bacon bits, cheddar cheese, grape tomatoes, etc.) the most popular supermarket dressings, and a few options like potato salad, coleslaw, and chocolate pudding. Included with meals were fresh-made rolls, which were tossed at diners (copying a popular southern Missouri restaurant). The bathroom was a mess: A leaky toilet valve puddled water on the floor. read more

We had the patty melt, french dip and fried chicken plate. All the food was great! Our waitress, Mallory, was so much fun and very personable. She made our experience fantastic! The atmosphere was what I would expect from a cute diner. It was clean and tasteful country decor. Prices very reasonable. We will be back read more

Hadn't eaten at Chubby's for a few years and decided to try it for lunch. Service and food were excellent. Had the special of chicken salad and fries. Definitely would eat that again. Pies looked delicious but was too full to try a slice this time. The booth we were at was cracked, taped, and a bit lumpy. Everything seemed very clean. read more

My boyfriend loves this place, and we drove over an hour to eat breakfast here. I was not as impressed. We arrived to the restaurant approximately 10:30 on a Sunday and they close at 11 on weekends. There wasn't more than about a third of the restaurant full this late in their breakfast hours. The meal he said was so fantastic was the chicken fried steak. The chicken fried steak breakfast comes with toast, hash browns, and two eggs your way. He ordered his with two eggs over easy and I asked for wheat toast, crispy hash browns, and to give my eggs to him. The gravy was thick and had a good flavor, but was a little too thick for my personal preference - it seemed somewhat gelatinous. The steak was tender, crispy on the exterior and also had good flavor (likely due to the batter). My hash browns came out nice and crispy but were freezer burned and tasted horrible even with ketchup. My toast was barely browned and still quite soft and floppier than a baby bunny's ears. I wouldn't call it toast. Would I go back? Definitely not worth the drive since the city (where we live) has much better options. If I'm out that way? Maybe, but I'd be ion for trying another place first. read more

This hole-in-the-wall restaurant is your average small-town place where all the locals and retirees gather. Food is alright. The biscuits and gravy on my most recent visit was pretty good and filling. Service was good. Prices were reasonable on most items. Chubby's also throws rolls, obviously copying off of Lambert's. Rolls were good, but they weren't as huge and moist like Lambert's. read more

The wife and I decided to try Chubbys out after moving here a few years back. Was always told they had good food, good steaks. My wife ordered their 6oz steak with baked potato and side of Mac n cheese. I ordered the half fried chicken with fries and we both had the salad bar. After working as a Chef/cook at numerous restaurants, this is just my opinion. Salad bar was standard except for old veggies , the garnish around the containers was browning. The fried chicken was cooked great, except they gave me two thighs instead of a breast, fries good as well. My wife's steak was obviously a frozen steak thawed and flapped on the grill. The thin part was med which is what she ordered, but the not much thicker part was raw. Her baked potato was undercooked, and the Mac n cheese was not only cold, but dry and flavorless. Obviously had been sitting on steam table too long. Now, the service however, was great. very nice, young lady. The whole staff was very nice. The restaurant was very clean. Chubby's is definitely a place for local, older generations that aren't as picky with their food. But don't expect to take a date there for a good meal. This is not intended to hurt their establishment, but maybe help them see their food quality is not as it used to be from what I was always told. read more

Food is to high! High price for small buffet! Green beans was the worst! Wish it was like it used to be!

I had the fried chicken and it was very very good when recommended to anybody. I'd like to look at the menu to see if they had codfish there because I do like cod and I'm not sure if they do or not but if they did, I would go back for that? read more

Really good kind of home style food. I definitely recommend theor rolls and mashed potatoes! Service was really nice! They had the salad bar when we went, and the ingredients were fresh. My sister got the some chicken fried steak, I believe. She loved it. Good portion size. read more

Service: 4 Stars Food: 3 Stars Value: 4 Stars Total: 3.7 Would I Return? Yes My wife and I went for lunch. She had been before for both breakfast and lunch and really liked it. We were both looking forward to trying their pie. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was fine. I tried the roast beef. I'm pretty sure the gravy was from a mix. It was more salty than beefy. The beef itself was tender, but more done than I prefer. The mashed potatoes were real, not a mix, which is a pet peeve of mine. The soup is house made, which I always appreciate. The portions were large, so large that we decided not to order any pie. Maybe next time. My wife ordered the chicken fried chicken. I tried her white gravy. It was better than the beef gravy. A highlight was the fresh rolls. Like Lamberts, Chubby's tosses hot rolls to diners. The rolls are very soft inside with a firm, brown exterior. They were the best part of the meal. I would go back, but I would order something different, as would my wife. She really loves the pork tenderloin sandwich and wishes she had ordered that. read more

From vague memory of a few years back here goes this review. This place is a go to especially in Lincoln County, a joint off Highway C & 61 is got some pretty damn good food with a great atmosphere This is a go back pick for me, not very expensive while worth every dollar with good American food cooked to perfection. Nothing fancy. Biscuits and gravy are a solid choice they were fresh with a good gravy tasting almost homemade? I see some people say that on here so i think it is, never asked the few times ive been in. The BLT you can't go wrong with everything being fresh for a plain ole BLT this is a good good goodie. Cheeseburger is a good cooked patty fresh bread and veggies to top it off with a pickle this was a delicious meal. @J93THEWRITER = TWITTER & IG FOLLOW read more

I'd almost give a two star, but they are nice, it's clean, the order accuracy is correct. Refills were offered. Most of the food was hot, however the bacon was burnt and the hashbrowns were undercooked. The coffee is not very tasty here. I'm going to guess the Folders pods? The biscuit and gravy are alright, very floury. I'd prefer sausage gravy. Prices are decent here. Overall it works for a quick bite during breakfast hours. read more

Another victim of Lincoln Counties smoking policy. You can smell the smoke everywhere since it is one large open room with smoking on one side and non smoking in the other. We went for breakfast and was not real impressed with the food. The best thing I can say is it was hot. No flavor / no seasoning. It must be the patrons that like bland food because this isn't the only restaurant in this area with this affliction. I live in Troy and we desperately need a good restaurant in the area. read more

Great home style food at great prices. Great local diner I took my parents to regularly. Love the homemade rolls, truly like my Grandma made.

First time eating at Chubby's very nice atmosphere and super friendly servers. I had the fried chicken which was absolutely delicious and the three sides that come with it were also good, although I would've preferred having some sort of a vegetable with it such as green beans or corn. Everyone had raved of how good, the pies were, however, I found something lacking on this particular visit,. I ordered the banana. and my friend had the coconut cream. I think someone forgot the sugar in the cream, as well as the meringue, as the pies were very bland, this being said, I would recommend a return visit. Chris H. read more

Amazing down home cooking with a delicious Friday night buffet. Chubby burger is best value I've seen for a cheese burger and fries. Tea is always good and the staff is super friendly. My husband and I came in for our Monday date day lunch and were excited to try out a local restaurant... the restaurant itself isn't anything special. No decor... just plain. Other than the anniversary balloons. The tables are packed with oversized bowls to accommodate massive amounts of creamer and whipped spread, leaving enough room for 2 plates on a 4 top. The "salad bar" for 3.99 is very disappointing. They have premixed iceberg lettuce blend, one jar of shredded cheese, one jar of tomatoes, some onions, broccoli, and your choice of dressing (that is the bulk dressing you can buy at Sams... nothing special there...). Next to the salad on the same bar was a blob of coleslaw, some potato salad, and what appeared to be cottage cheese... oh and Jello too... We also ordered the Mac n cheese bites, a French dip, and a chicken cheddar bacon. Nothing, including the French fries, was fresh. It was so disappointing... the au jus and French dip was bland, the bacon on the chicken was over microwaved and rubbery, the chicken patty itself was a bulk ordered pre-breaded and flash fried item, the French fries had zero taste to them, and the Mac n cheese bites were yet again another bulk order item that wasn't made fresh... I had such high expectations for somewhere that boasts to be home made "grammy's" cooking. It's sad... this restaurant has great potential... but was definitely a big let down... I will say our server was friendly. A little slow on refills but otherwise she was great. read more

Chubby's is the "Home of the throwed roll". A typical small town restaurant where the locals go. Order conservatively...they serve you HUGE amounts of food, and the prices are very reasonable. Ok this place is truly a hole in the wall. Nothing fancy about it..... but I love the locals and friendly staff. Biscuits and gravy were awesome, the hashbrowns were undercooked which is truly disappointing, but I smothered them with gravy and ate every single bite!!! Luv this place try to stop her when visiting my grandpa great food and friendly servers

This is one of those local places that used to sit along side of every highway in America before there were interstates. The menu consists of the good old 1950s & 60s staples. They serve breakfast all day long. So one can always get biscuits and gravy any time of the day. If breakfast is not what one wants at two in the afternoon, the Chubby Burger, Pork Cultlet, Openface Roast Beef with Masted Tatters, or the Liver & Onions will make you feel like you are on the road again with the windows rolled down doing eighty since who had AC. Also catch a roll and butter it up while you wait for your meal. read more

wish they would not put sliced processed cheese on my eggs but regular cheese. Some things are really good and others are fair to middlin. Had a steak and it was tough and chewy.
