La Hacienda Draper -- 12434 Minuteman Dr, Draper, UT 84020…read moreDate: September 21, 2026 This was my first visit to La Hacienda, recommended by some colleagues I was meeting with during one of my regular trips out to the Salt Lake City area. I ordered the 2 Smothered Burritos with Cheese ($13.99). Unfortunately, this one just wasn't for me. The burritos were filled mostly with beans and had very few pieces of chile verde pork. I was expecting much more of that chile verde flavor and meat, so I didn't care for the dish at all. That said, we also ordered the Super Nachos with grilled steak ($12.99) for the table, and those were excellent! I'd honestly return for the nachos alone. I also had a Michelada ($8.99 each), which was VERY good and another highlight of the meal. Our table tried several other items, including 4 Asada Tacos ($10.49), 2 Chile Verde Enchiladas ($13.49), Bean & Cheese Burrito ($11.49), 2 Chicken Enchiladas ($13.49) and another order of 2 Smothered Burritos with Cheese ($13.99). Soft drinks and iced tea were $3.30 each. Despite being disappointed with my entrée, I'm giving La Hacienda 4 stars because the restaurant was very busy, the service was great, the place is nicely designed, and the nachos and Michelada showed me there are definitely some winners on the menu. I'll absolutely return and try some different options next time -- but those Super Nachos will definitely be on the table again!

Unfortunately, I did not like the veggie burrito. It was mostly rice and some beans. Of course, that's what comes with the burrito. I believe there was guacamole inside the burrito as well, but do beans and guacamole make a veggie burrito? I've had way better veggie burritos. If it wasn't for the service, this place would get a 2.

So today I see the menu is updated and there is Tacos Birria on the menu... let's go! This is very good. Highly recommended. Anyway, if you're looking for good Mexican food Gual Bertos east and west is a good choice. It's commonly filled with construction workers with their big trucks in the parking lot.

My wife and I patronize this restaurant multiple times a year...and usually it is just awesome…read more Fresh food, and I'm a sucker for their Pork Carnitas plate with 'double beans / no rice' and flour tortillas (super thin...and just fabulous.) However, for the last three out of four visits my pork carnitas have contained giant globs of uncooked pork fat. Gelatinous and nasty, and commingled with the nicely cooked lean pork. Normally, all pork is delicious, tender, crispy, and dry...and goes perfectly with the rest of the meal. But these three instances of having some of these globs of pork fat is too much for me...especially so many times this year. I thought that management there at Gual's should know about this. Not sure if it is customary to have these fat globs mixed it to the lean meat, but wow, it really detracts from what was supposed to be a wonderful meal. We're going to give Gual's a break for awhile. Maybe come back next year..and hopefully the kitchen will address this issue. Two Stars for some rather odd surprises that really ruin the carnitas plate.

Wow, excellent service. The guy came out to my window after I left, he noticed that I didn't get any salsa. I mentioned that I had never been to the restaurant before, I think he wanted to make sure I got salsa if I wanted some. That saved me the frustration of getting home to find that I didn't have what I needed. Another thing that was nice that they did was ask how far I was going, I got it to go. He realized that the tortillas would get soggy, so he put them on the side. I love a new restaurant because they do everything they can to make the experience the very best. I hope that they continue to think of themselves as a new restaurant 50 years from now. If they do, this will be an incredibly successful restaurant. I wish you and your staff the very best

They start you off with chips and salsa, which is always appreciated. Just know that the first basket is complimentary and any additional baskets come with a charge. Of everything we tried, the Cheesy Pastor Tacos were the clear standout. The birria, asada, and chorizo were all good, but the pastor tacos stole the show. Next time I'll probably skip the variety and just order those. The only thing that caught us off guard was the seating policy. They wouldn't seat our table until everyone in the party had arrived, even though the people we were waiting for were literally pulling into the parking lot. It wasn't a huge issue, but it did feel a little unnecessary and inconvenient. Overall, the food was excellent, the drinks were refreshing, and the experience was a good one. Pineapple-infused meat with occasional onion brings the taco to life and body slammed my taste buds. I ended up going twice in two days to get the same thing: tacos al pastor. My dining partner ordered the tacos birria de res and noted succulent shredded beef with lots of juices. A little lime here, a little hot sauce there, and whammo--a fiesta in your mouth. The rice and beans that accompany the entree are not bland and are fluffy and tasty. Chips are made throughout the day and get scooped out of the oven and into your bowl, something that is not only fun to watch but guarantees warm chips. Served with three salsas (the mild red one has tiny bits of carrot in it, which I loved). The horchata here is not overly sweet (thank goodness) and the agua fresca flavor collection is extensive and yummy. My personal favorite is melón (cantaloupe). Mexican Coke available as well. Easy to miss driving by but worth looking up and visiting. It's a great sign when the customer base is heavily Latino and they are praising the food as authentic. My service at night was unremarkable and distant. I got the feeling the server wanted to just go home.
