We are new to Lake Wallenpaupack and since moving here in August of 2018, we have had nothing but poor experiences with Gresham's. The first time we went there, we had a party of 5. I called ahead and asked to make reservations. We got there around 7pm, they told us 40 minute wait and then didn't seat us until 8:30. We hung out in the bar area which had great service and drinks, but when they seated us, they rushed us the entire time. They were tag teaming our table, with multiple servers, taking our plates before we were even completed our meal. They had us out in an hour, because we were one of the final tables in there. The second time we went in with a fresh mind. We got seated quickly, but our server was the worst I've ever had. She didn't ask what we wanted to drink. Once we asked to be given drinks, she never offered to refill them. My sister asked for a refill, with everyone's drinks empty, and she filled hers without offering a refill to anyone else. Once we got the check, we watched our waitress stand with the hostess for about 20 minutes before she finally came to collect our check. The food is fantastic, but the service is the worst I've ever had. For the price of the meals, the service is completely unacceptable. We will not be returning to Graham's again. read more

After about an hour waiting for a table (they don't take reservations for parties under 8) last night we were finally seated. Waitress was pleasant but very rushed. Long wait between visits to our table and to get apps and food out. About 20 minutes to just get some bread. We ordered French onion soup(so salty barely edible) boneless wings and shrimp cocktail for apps, they were just ok. We ordered filet mignon which was disappointing. Less than an inch thick, overcooked and tough. Should be much better for $29.00. Also had NY strip and a special butterflied pork chop milanese which were good. We also ordered side add ons that never came and we couldn't get waitress attention so we told her when she came to see if we wanted anything else so we wouldn't be charged. No one came around to clear empty plates or glasses (except for bartender who did pass by tables just grabbing wine glasses and leaving all other empty glasses) I guess they were running short on them. We had asked waitress at one visit if they bus people to help out and she said yes but I'm not sure where they were or what they were doing. After spending over 2 1/2 hours there we couldn't wait to leave so passed on deserts and coffee. Maybe it was just an off night and they were extremely busy so we'll probably give it another chance at some point. read more

We stayed at the Gresham's Lake View House which provided 10% off at the next door Gresham's Chop House. We were seated immediately at one of the booths by the bay windows, although we did not have a reservation for an 8:30 dinner. We skipped appetizers and had bottled beers for drinks. For entrees, he ate and loved the manicotti with meatballs. Per recommendations from the waitress, I ate the chicken francaise over penne pasta; the sauce was tart and delicious. We shared a snickers sundae for dessert which was served in a huge goblet. Built on top of a brownie, the sundae was richly dressed with chocolate syrup, whipped cream, nuts, and caramel. read more

We go out to dinner quite often and were excited to hear about Greshams. First impressions were very good, The view was very nice and we liked the option of sitting inside or outside. We were greeted and seated as soon as we arrived and the waitress came quickly to get our drink order. So far, so good. I was taken back with the limited selection of wines given it is a chop house but I wasn't drinking wine so it wasn't a big deal (just something I noticed for another time). Menu selections were good and I had a hard time deciding what to get. I asked the waitress which of two she recommended and she said I couldn't go wrong with either. We ordered the calamari and the mozzarella block for appetizers. I think the oil was too hot for the mozzarella as the outside was borderline burnt but the inside could have used a minute or two more. The calamari was just done (could have also used some more time in the fryer) and very bland. We left most of that on the plate but was never asked if there was a problem. Salads came with the meal and my husbands was good. Mine was served on a warm plate so the lettuce got limp very quickly and the dressing was warm too. He ordered the NY Strip and I ordered the Jack Daniels Steak. The presentation was very sloppy. I had ordered a side of pasta instead of a baked potato. The pasta wasn't drained so there was a puddle of water at the bottom of the bowl. The sauce was then thrown on top, some of which was outside of the bowl and on the plate. it was so watery that the sauce just didn't stick to the pasta. The steak was cooked well but was not given time to rest so the blood of the meat was all over the plate. The portion size was more like a filet. My husbands steak was chewy Service was not great either. We finished our drinks after our appetizer and both had empty drinks through the salad course. The waitress never stayed at the table long enough for us to ask for a drink and didn't come back to see how things were. There was a young blonde girl that cleared tables between courses. She did a nice job and was responsive when asked for something but when the server doesn't do this, there is a lost opportunity for good customer service. Yum!!! We stayed at Ledges Hotel for a night during a weekend get away. Instead of eating at the hotel, we ventured here and so glad we did! I had the pork chop after hearing locals rave about it while waiting for our table and I'm so happy I ordered it - it was to die for. My husband had the Jack Daniels flat iron and loved it as well. Definitely would consider venturing back 2 1/2 hours to Hawley once a year for a nice hotel stay and to eat here. I'm still dreaming about that pork chop... read more

Very slow service and meal was inedible (multiple hairs throughout). Spoke with the server who brought it up to the owner...$8 off a $20 meal. Two bites were taken out of the meal and it could not be taken home for leftovers. Management clearly does not care about generating repeat customers (which we have been until this evening) or about customer satisfaction. read more

As a local, this is one of my favorite places to go to. The NY strip and the Prime Rib are absolutely amazing. If you do order one of these do you self a favor and get the fried shrimp added to your order, I promise you won't be disappointed. Let me preface this review by saying I hate negativity in general. And it's not very often that I can get this irritated to leave such a negative review. But I feel I have to. My Fiance and I went her for dinner on Friday July 20th 2018, having never been to Gresham's before. The restaurant is a really nice place, with a beautiful deck that overlooks Lake Wallenpaupack. So we asked to sit outside. Hostess said it was about a 20 min wait. No problem. So we sat at the bar to wait. Bartenders were very prompt and made excellent cocktails. After about a half hour, our table was ready, so we took our drinks and headed outside. We then ordered french onion soup and our dinners. I ordered their special 24 oz Jack Daniel's pork chop and my fiance ordered the Jack Daniel's flat iron steak. After we had our soup, our drinks were empty. The waitress proceeded to take our empty cocktail glasses and never ask if we wanted another. Hmmm, weird but ok she's busy probably forgot. Then our dinner salads arrive and she again did not ask if we wanted another drink. Forgot to mention that in between all of this, our waitress would completely disappear inside for at least 10 mins if not more. Finally our dinners arrived after quite a good wait. When the waitress put down our meal, she was about to walk away without even asking if we needed anything else, at which my fiance had to stop her to ask for another round of cocktails for us. Ok so now I'm a little irritated but whatever. As for the dinner? Absolutely horrible. This pork chop was rubbery, fatty, bland and drenched in what looked like basic ass bbq sauce. Not even a quality store bought sauce. I'm talking like complete dog shit dollar store brand. Definitely not a homemade Jack Daniel's sauce. Now I'm mad. Completely un-edible. And my fiance tried it to make sure it wasn't me, she agreed. Her steak? Mediocre at best, mostly because it also had the same garbage bbq sauce all over it. I will say the garlic mashed were very good. But other than that horrible. Didn't see the waitress for at least another 15 mins at this point, and literally had to stop the hostess to make her aware of what was going on. Thankfully she was attentive and removed my dinner from our tab. Then it took another 10 mins just to pay the damn bill. Maybe I'm overly sensitive to it, bad service and bad food are just big pet peeves of mine. Thankfully it's very infrequent that it happens. I will say it was a Friday night and it was busy which contributed I'm sure. But that's not a total excuse. Maybe at some point I'll try it again to see if it was a fluke. But right now I can say that I will definitely not be back anytime soon and certainly would say of you go to Greshams, do it with caution. At least dont get the pork. Lol read more

So glad that the place we stayed at (East Shore Lodge) offered a $50 gift certificate to this restaurant. Was not impressed whatsoever. When we first got there, the hostess ignored us until she finished her conversation with another couple. We were seated and the specials were given to us, only to find out, after we ordered, that they ran out of my order. I ended up ordering the grilled chop which was very juicy but had no flavor. My bf ordered the NY Strip which he wasn't thrilled with either. The only thing I enjoyed was the bread and olive oil mixture that was given. This place is way over priced and the food isn't great. The atmosphere was nice and very clean but I'd rather go to Ehrhardt's and have a very good, medium priced meal, rather than go here again. read more

I was lucky enough to visit the Chop House during a weekend vacation in the Poconos. After being turned down at another restaurant due to a lack of seating, we decided to head over to the Chop House, as I had never been there before. I was immediately impressed with the clean and up-to-date interior of the restaurant, as many of the restaurants in the Poconos are dingy and dated. Plenty of seating was available, and large bay windows offered a scenic view of Lake Wallenpaupack. Simply put, the food was excellent. As it is primarily a steak house, I ordered a 10 oz. filet mignon. It was probably one of the best filets that I have ever had. I also was able to try the coconut shrimp, served with a delicious pineapple dipping sauce. The service was great, and the overall dining experience was wonderful. read more

Was pleasantly surprised with this place. Got the French onion soup which was great. My girlfriend got the chicken tortilla soup which was also great. Then came the bread with oil and Parmesan, very authentic Italian. Then the house salad that comes with our meal. The house Italian garlic dressing was amazing. I got the penne pasta with Cajun chicken and Alfredo sauce. She got the penne with vodka sauce with chicken. Both dishes amazing, but just way more food then we needed. Brought about half of it home. Our tab came to about 50$ which was a great value for the amount and quality of food. Very pleased with the atmosphere and view as well as the food. read more

We have never been disappointed except for the wait time to be seated. So we venture into the bar for a drink. Not a bad way to wait. The food portions and quality don't disappoint and we always leave with leftovers. Service is as quick as they can be considering the view and the popularity of the location. Came here on a Tuesday night with a group of 4 ladies and sat on the deck with a view of the lake. Our server was super friendly and steered us to a cheese stuffed pasta dish with braised beef short rib in a Marsala sauce. DIVINE! A small salad was included and the house Italian dressing was liked by all. 3 of 4 got the same dish so not much variety to judge the whole menu but if most dishes were executed to this standard I will gladly come back. My wife and I visited this establishment while we were staying at a local B&B. Overall, the experience was great. The restaurant staff went out of their way to socially distance guest and sanitize in between guest. Brea, our sever was very attentive to our needs. For drink I had a long island iced tea and my wife had the pineapple crush. Both were good. For an appetizer, we shared the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were a nice size and the cocktail sauce was very good. For dinner, we both had steak. I had the Delmonico steak the was cooked to perfection (medium). The steak was very tender and did not need any steak sauce for sides, I had french fries, side salad and the carrots. The carrots were very good. I am not usually a fan of carrots but since they automatically came with the meal, what did I have to lose? My wife had the New York strip steak, which was also cooked to perfection (medium well). For dessert, we had the Limoncello cake which I thought was very good because I love lemon. My wife thought it was just okay. Overall, I enjoyed my visit. Just be prepared for a long wait. What a wonderful dining experience! Food, service, and decor are fabulous. My waitress, Taylor, was very attentive and sweet. I will start with my salad. Their house dressing was by far the best I have ever tasted. It is homemade right on the premises. Not at all bottled. If it was, I would buy it! Their bread was great and the dipping sauce added a nice touch. The chicken Marsala was excellent. Everyone in my party was more than satisfied. Unfortunately, it was raining, but we would love to come back and dine on their beautiful, spacious deck overlooking the lake. I will be sure to dine there again! read more

My wife and I went here for a special occasion. The staff was very friendly and attentive and that's where it ended. We tried to order drinks off their menu and they either didn't have the ingredients or the ingredients were frozen. When we finally decided on drinks they were awful. (They need John Taffner).
