My wife and I visited this establishment while we were staying at a local B&B. Overall, the experience was great. The restaurant staff went out of their way to socially distance guest and sanitize in between guest. Brea, our sever was very attentive to our needs. For drink I had a long island iced tea and my wife had the pineapple crush. Both were good. For an appetizer, we shared the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were a nice size and the cocktail sauce was very good. For dinner, we both had steak. I had the Delmonico steak the was cooked to perfection (medium). The steak was very tender and did not need any steak sauce for sides, I had french fries, side salad and the carrots. The carrots were very good. I am not usually a fan of carrots but since they automatically came with the meal, what did I have to lose? My wife had the New York strip steak, which was also cooked to perfection (medium well). For dessert, we had the Limoncello cake which I thought was very good because I love lemon. My wife thought it was just okay. Overall, I enjoyed my visit. Just be prepared for a long wait. Service was fast and friendly. We shared the appetizer platter and had a wonderful cup of Hunter soup which was fresh and yummy. We ate on the patio and watched the sunset. What a wonderful dining experience! Food, service, and decor are fabulous. My waitress, Taylor, was very attentive and sweet. I will start with my salad. Their house dressing was by far the best I have ever tasted. It is homemade right on the premises. Not at all bottled. If it was, I would buy it! Their bread was great and the dipping sauce added a nice touch. The chicken Marsala was excellent. Everyone in my party was more than satisfied. Unfortunately, it was raining, but we would love to come back and dine on their beautiful, spacious deck overlooking the lake. I will be sure to dine there again! read more

My wife and I went here for a special occasion. The staff was very friendly and attentive and that's where it ended. We tried to order drinks off their menu and they either didn't have the ingredients or the ingredients were frozen. When we finally decided on drinks they were awful. (They need John Taffner). Beautiful atmosphere with large picture windows overlooking the lake. I ordered the Prime Rib special which was pretty cheap at just 12 bucks and was good. Could have been a bit more rare but still had a decent flavor (and trust me getting prime rib in this town that isn't grey is nearly impossible) while my wife ordered the filet which was surprisingly good. What upset me most is that we ordered the soup of the day ... chicken dumpling soup and it sounded really good. However when i tried it I knew I had had it once before. It tasted like it came out of a progresso soup can. It had that metallic taste to it like it was from a can. If this place is serving canned soup... if they have that little amount of passion and are taking those sorta short cuts then that's really quite awful to be charging that much for something i can make from going to my own supermarket. Oh and ... if you're going to use canned soup, try not to use progresso... that stuff is just horrible. read more

I have stayed many times over the past several years at the motel next door and have gone to the Chop House every visit. The food was always good and the service ok. This visit makes me never want to come back. The service was horrible both Friday and Saturday night. The food was ok but the prices are a little high. I sat at the bar both nights. The waitress was too busy chatting with the people next to me that I was not offered another drink and had to wait close to 25 minutes to pay on Friday night. It was like I was invisible. With not many choices of restaurants in the area, I went back Saturday night. It was busy and the poor service got worse. I did speak to the male "mgr" and he just made excuses. Not even an apology. It was like he was angry that I was there. Such a disappointment since I really looked forward to going there. read more

I was at Gresham's about a year ago with a group of 10 for a Birthday. It was the second time I was there. First time was nothing special, but I thought the setting was good for this gathering being near the lake and all. The food was not great. Chicken caesar's was good, most else was not. The service was annoying. We were rushed at every turn. The waitress was asking me if we wanted the cake while people were still eating their dinner. The owners, who were there, did not seem to care about much. What a shame. Great location and great view of lake. From what I've read in the recent reviews, not much has changed it seems. read more

Overlooking lake Wallenpaupack, the view is great. The decor inside is neat and the staff are very friendly. Most importantly, the food is delicious! Had to wait, not a big deal. Wait staff VERY inexperienced, had to wait for drinks, provided water with some ceremony, no bread. Not given a run down of the specials. NO PRICES listed or mentioned, either. Got Cowboy steak rare, not med rare, as requested. Hubby got his dinner before me, we're given apologies and more bread, finally my entree arrived undercooked. It was one missed cue after another with the waitress, hubby got pasta. We each had a beer. The cost? $75.40, not able to leave a great tip, because we did't think it would cost so much, vs. the Alpine, where we get premium imported beer, an appetizer, entree that never fails, and desert for about $60-$65, deserts are homemade at the Alpine, which we'll be returning to next time we can go out. Outstanding in every way. We went on a Sunday night. My wife and I ate here on our 12th anniversary, we had our 2 boys, 4 and 9. It was easy to get a table on the deck with a fabulous view of the lake, mostly thanks to the fact it rained just before we got there so all the wimps asked to move inside (I mean, it was August and warm outside, and they have an awning). So we had the whole deck to ourselves. I was a bit concerned about service since we were alone out there, but Bri was awesome! Very attentive, greeted us quickly, put in our drink order right away. When drinks came we ordered the calamari, which was good, but not great. The main meal, along with the service, was the key to my 5star rating. I had the special, a queen cut prime rib ($24, wow!), was cooked to perfection. I added fried shrimp, good choice. My wife had the seafood cakes and she loved it. Kids were treated well, not ignored as has happened at many other restaurants. In my week in this area, this was by far the best restaurant experience. Highly recommended. They have the location, but that's about it. Tourists beware!! We have frequented this restaurant many times over the years as we own a local home on the lake. They have steadily gotten worse each time we have gone. I believe they rely on the tourist crowd who likely will not be repeat customers. On a recent visit, I ordered the pork chop encrusted with blue cheese for $22 which in itself is a bit expensive. This is their signature dish as stated by the manager. Upon the first bite, my lips were burning from the abundance of Salt! I literally couldn't taste anything other than salt. I like salt on my food, however, this was inedible. I brought it to the attention of our young waitress who was very pleasant, but obviously didn't have the authority to do anything other than to offer something else. Someone higher up who I believe to be the manager came over and admitted that they just changed the supplier of their blue cheese and that could have caused the saltiness. By the time this all transpired my wife was already done with her dinner and I was informed by the manager that all they could do was offer me a $10 refund off the bill. This was after admitting that there was a change to the blue cheese. So, it cost me $12 for a baked potato and vegetables and I left hungry and angry. Went for dinner on Saturday night. My filet mignon came out raw instead of medium rare and had tendons running through it. Our server apologized and took it back and another meal was prepared. By the time that came out my husband's dinner was cold. The hostess was very nonchalant about the issue and said that sometimes these things happen. This is prob the biggest joke you will ever experience if you want to order take out . I had called from in the parking lot and ordered my food and when I tried to add in a drink because that's usually what you need with food I was told they don't have any take out cups . Not familiar with the area I had to locate a place to go grab a drink and drive all over after experiencing an attitude when I asked why they didn't have cups for takeout . I have been to this place a few times and always recommended it to friends and fam but i definitely won't be returning .I am not on here to bash anyone and never have written an online review but I am a business owner for 15 years and I would never have an arrogance with any customer . I have always went out of my way to listen to the client and make them happy even if at times I didn't agree . You do what's right . Like I drove 45 min to get dinner from here because I liked the food . Yes we all have bad days but you have to leave it at the door .If you don't have the personality for people and customer service you should not be in it .It's not for everyone and it shows . I was told to go to turkey hill convenience store down the street because take out cups will just spill all over my car ? Lol! This means either someone spilled there drink all over before and complained which is kind of dumb because that is what a center console cup holder is for and greshams just got aggravated and banned take out cups . Staff were fabulous, seating was comfortable, dining rooms was immaculate. The food however was hit & miss, asked for the soup du jour, was told that it was corn chowder. When I asked for a bowl the waitress stated that they only served it in cups. When I asked if the chef could just put some in a salad or pasta bowl and charge me for the extra 2 or 3 servings, she stated " He won't do that ". I asked again, " He won't put it in a bowl ? " Again, she stated " No, he isn't going to do that. " Hmmmm . . . I ordered 2 cups of it and unfortunately it seems as if it was just creamed corn & chicken stock. It was awful. My other dining partners had pasta, which was overcooked & the sauce tasted store bought. The steak that was the special that night was tender but overcooked. ;( read more
