The cranberry walnut scone was especially delightful. I appreciate how neatly everything was packed up for our crew to hit the road (thank you!). Both the drink and the biscuit were fresh, tasty, and enjoyable. I paid with the InKind app. The service was fast, friendly, and efficient. The interior is kinda small and has limited seating so you're right up against others. If you're okay with that, then fine but the Gregorys on 19th has more ample seating and is spread out. I was looking for breakfast near my hotel & found that Gregory's Coffee was about a mile away & had vegan options for breakfast. Vegan burrito it's supposed to have vegan egg, beyond sausage, vegan cheddar cheese, breakfast potatoes, onions & peppers but unfortunately all I could see or taste was vegan cheese & beyond taste so I was sorely disappointed. Iced fall oat boy it was supposed to be espresso, vanilla, maple syrup, & hazelnut with oat milk. I didn't taste any of that it was just ok. Banana nut pound cake it was a large loaf. The coffee crumb cake inside was soft and delicious, but I didn't like the outside of it because it was a little too hard for me. The salted caramel cold brew was good. During a recent business trip to DC, I wanted to grab a gluten-free muffin for the early plane ride home the next day. Knowing Whole Foods is not a option, I looked around for something else close by and I was glad to discover Gregory's Coffee. I bought the vegan gluten free chocolate chip muffin and it was delicious. It also kept well and was still fresh a day after I bought it. Since I didn't have a refrigerator in my hotel room I was slightly concerned about that but it worked out well. I also got a smoothie for the afternoon s d it was fantastic. If you're looking for a cute coffee shop to work in, this isn't the spot. It's more of a grab on the way to somewhere place. Tables are too small for working but the drinks come out fast. On the food side, I got a iced chai which was good. After being told they were out of every vegan and skinny option I ordered the deluxe. After 20 minutes, I went up and asked about it, the very rude female barista just failed to start the order. the very apologetic male barista immediately started making one. What I was served was still cold in the middle. I thought I caught the barista on a bad day and was prepared to chalk it up to that but she was super friendly to some customers and ultra rude (like your presence was an annoyance) to others. I was watching for trends on people but it really just depended on how many people didn't answer her calls between customers. I won't be back. read more

Very small coffee place by McPherson homeless park. 4 tables for 2 inside and a small single by a shelf. When it is warm the outside has plenty of chairs but stacking them in winter makes the inside cramped. The mild coffee was very nice and smooth and not the bitter strong place style. I stopped over here while I was on my way to a meeting closeby. When I came inside, I seemed like a small yet rather unique Cafe, and there were tables and chairs inside and outside. I think the chairs outside were more comfortable so that's where I found a spot. MK was the cool employee who took myborder and prepared my drink.. I ordered a medium 16 ounce Blue Dream that had butter pecan and blueberry syrup and oat milk. She topped it with cold foam and dried blueberries. They have a few breakfast sandwiches like turkey sausage egg bites, and even larger egg and bacon sandwiches, but I settled on a freshly-made single blueberry muffin. Each day we wasted 10 minutes in line only to get to the counter to hear they were out of what we wanted or couldn't make it. Gregory's is a nice hip spot for coffee. The interior isn't all that big, but it's really a spot to just stop in, grab coffee, and go. I saw a couple people working on their laptops, but most people ordered and took their coffee to go. They also offer smoothies and other special crafted drinks. I've only tried the latte so far. I can never finish a full cup, so I'm glad that they offer a "pocket size" latte (8 oz.) which is the perfect amount for me. Gregory's is conveniently located next to a ton of big businesses and government offices so as you can imagine, it's pretty busy in the morning, and somewhat busy in the afternoon when everyone starts hitting that midday slump. I ordered the pocket size latte with almond milk. I typically put a scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen powder in my coffee at home and noticed that they put it in their smoothies so I asked if I could get a scoop of it in my coffee, but they declined. Apparently it's for smoothies only. I was happy to pay extra for it, but oh well. The people working there were nice, but I wish they could be a little more accommodating especially when it's not crazy busy. Gregory's Coffee is a chain, so I'm not surprised that they don't deviate from their normal drink offerings. Aside from that, when you walk in, they normally have small food/pastry samples or drink samples which are kinda unique. I haven't tried any of their gluten free pastries, but they looked pretty good. The coffee is good, the customer service could use a bit of work, and this spot is a good place to get some work done if you so wanted to. It's comparable to Starbucks, maybe a tad more pricey, but the coffee is excellent in my opinion so I'd come back again for it. read more

This is a cute new chain in the downtown area near McPherson Square. But the coffee and service falls short and doesn't deliver. I tried a cappuccino with soy. It was cloying and thick - too much milk? Also, it took the barista what felt like 10-15 minutes to make my drink. The line got increasingly long and my friends (who ordered cold brews, so no wait) were confused at how long we had to wait for my drink. It would be one thing to wait forever for an amazing, well-crafted drink, but this was not the case. The shop itself has a nice design with wood furnishing and a hipster vibe. but it can get crowded with that line and without much seating. Gregory's Coffee enters the DC coffee scene with a lot of pride for their coffee and pastries. Started by a young guy named Gregory, they made it big in NYC with dozens of locations across the city. Now, for the first time, they venture outside of NYC with the hopes of starting three location in Washington, DC. This location is its first stake in downtown DC. Located just a few blocks from The Washington Post and The White House, their target audience is the commuter. With that in mind, it's a small shop centered around serving your coffee as fast as they can to get you out the door. To help, they have a great easy-to-use app where you can order ahead (Though as of 11/27/17, this location wasn't set up to take orders in the app). Whatever coffee they use, it's good. I ordered a medium latte and it was nice and creamy. They have a lot of pasty choices, but lacking in the chocolate department so I ordered their take on a cinnamon roll. It was tasty, but a bit hard and not fresh tasting. There is really good wifi (password: gregoryscoffee) and a few single tables with outlets to use for working. I think it will take a few weeks for them to get settled into DC, but I am glad there are more coffee options downtown. read more

Normally I like cold brew but the one I got here was the most acidic one I've ever had - I could not finish the drink. Service was also not friendly at all. The barista was busy cleaning so I waited a little for her to step over to the register. She never did, she just said "I'm listening" and sounded very impatient. No smiles or anything, she was cold and off-putting. She did the exact same thing to the next customer that walked in too. My experience here was quick, but I loved it. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, which is always a plus for me. I ordered a mint tea which was very refreshing and calming! You could tell that the herbs were fresh and not just sitting for a long time. The prices are, as far as I can tell, no worse than its competitors and they proudly advert their vegan predilections for the menu choices. Perfect for stopping by and fueling the brain on that RTO (return to office) life. This location has limited indoor seating, but we both know youll want to carry it out - you're in the heart of downtown DC afterall! They do however, make overtures to outside seating for those business meetings we've all got to get to for when the weather is nice. read more

My boyfriend and I decided to stop in at Gregorys for breakfast based off of Yelp reviews. The coffee was delicious but the breakfast sandwiches we ordered were just okay. I ordered the "Vegan scramble" and my boyfriend ordered the "New Yorker." My sandwich was mostly bread but larger and more filling than his. He ended up having to go back in for a pastry. I really wanted to like Gregory coffee because of it's close proximity to my work. I have been here now what feels like 5 times and not once have I left happy. The toast is so thick and gross and pretty much not eatable. The coffee even a bigger disappointment!! The ice coffee taste like water, the lattes taste like milk. I'm not sure if they have coffee in their product.... just go to compass and don't waste your time or money here. The employees are always rushing me and I hate that feeling. read more

My very first visit today was a pleasant experience. I walked in to see a showcase full of desserts and a (Black) woman behind the counter with the best attitude. I took the last blueberry muffin. She stated she baked them earlier and went on to point to the oven, pans, etc. Her customer service skills were 100% from the time I entered, until the transaction ended. That means a lot when prices are through the roof for consumers with everything and we might think twice about spending on things we don't necessarily need. KuDos to you young lady!!! read more
