This establishment was very close to where I was staying and my hot oat milk latte was good. Not the strongest coffee, but it still did the trick. I can see what another yelper meant about the service. They are on auto pilot definitely not in the moment. I stated clearly I wanted oat milk and was still asked what kind of milk I wanted with my drink. I asked a few questions about the size and how many shots of espresso were in the large. Any more questions from me and they would have been really bothered I think. They probably are over tourists I don't know. Would I come back? Yeah, it's not as good as the little hat but it's pretty solid coffee the service was not the best but it was also not the worst. It was a busy morning. I don't need a fake smiling barista/server asking how my morning is when they don't really care, just don't spit in my coffee and have a little patience and hand me my coffee. read more

We stopped by here for a early afternoon breakfast, yes breakfast, once we ascertained that Bluestone Lane had a sufficient number of stars on Yelp. We were not disappointed. Bluestone is connected to the DC West End Public Library. We liked all the windows at Bluestone. Overall, the ambience is light and airy. Eats were great. While our young server was cordial, he seemed overwhelmed even though the restaurant was nearly void of customers. Service was ok. But having said that, the blueberry pancakes I ordered and that came in a little skillet were fabulous! Loved their light fluffy texture and flavor. Yes, the pancakes came with blueberries, but also with jelly. While these were blueberry pancakes, I'm pretty certain the jelly was blackberry. But hey, that's a great thing! I love anything blackberry. Curiously, the pancakes came with a side of maple syrup. I would never have dreamt of mixing maple syrup with blackberry/blueberry. My sides of bacon and toast were pretty typical, but the toast slice was large and the bread had an excellent texture. The toast came with butter and blackberry jam. JP ordered the Athlete's Burrito and liked it a lot. Enclosed in the burrito were egg whites, avocado and a few other ingredients. The burrito came with a tasty dressed spinach salad. It's evident that the owner/chef love avocado, because the majority of dishes include avocado. We will definitely come back (I'm still thinking about those awesome pancakes). read more

Coffee is solid. Folks working here are real unfriendly. Person who took my order had headphones in. I had to say oar milk three times before she finally acknowledged I'd said anything (the order on the screen said whole milk). The day before I also asked for oat milk multiple times and it was done with whole milk. I order coffee almost every day and rarely have this issue. The lady making my coffee was refilling garbage bags in between making my coffee. Took them almost 10 mins to make a latte with no other orders. read more

I love a good cup of tea or coffee at Bluestone. It's made immediately when you place your order either in person or via mobile app. My go to is their chai lattes but they have a series of smoothies that look really delicious too. It's a small cafe but with plenty of outdoor seating. Other locations have more space compared to this one. read more

Good cup of joe, but not super comfortable seating and the music seemed a bit loud for the small space. I expected something more or different given it's connected to the Darcy hotel. The young man working was friendly & attentive, and no complaints about the coffee. read more

On a recent visit to DC I was craving a healthy, nutrient dense breakfast. Enter Bluestone Lane which totally delivered on my craving. I opted for a clean & lean protein bowl which is essentially similar to the breakfast I make every day at home. It featured smoked salmon, poached egg, feta, tomatoes, avocado all on a bed of lettuce with lemon vinaigrette dressing. I added an extra poached egg for the protein and ordered for delivery via uber eats. It was a great, fresh, balanced breakfast. Would definitely order again if in the area when looking for something healthy and satisfying. read more

Really unfortunate experience at this location. Went on a Sunday around 12pm and most items were sold out and poorly prepared. I ordered a vanilla iced latte that had coffee grounds at the bottom of the cup and possibly the saddest breakfast burrito ever. For $20, I would have rather gone to McDonald read more

Quaint adorable coffee shop near our hotel in city center DC. Perfect Sunday morning spot. All your caffeine needs and breakfast and pastry plates. Great bread ! Loved the Cappuccino and I was just basic with toast and jam but it was what I needed ! Carbs ! Great service ! Lots of food variety. No fuss but just a nice place to park yourself for a break. The customer service is really bad. No one greets you and everyone working there looks like they are attending a funeral. I went to grab a smoothie 2 days in a row and the service was the same. The tall young man needs to stay in the back, he is very unpleasant and I'm not sure he should be providing any service to customers. Not to mention if you make a smoothie and you know it's like water why serve it to a customer. Please train the staff in customer service, so they can provide the customers with a good experience. read more

Bustling cafe this morning. We ordered at the kiosk and sat outside. My friend thought the PB and berry toast would have been better without honey drizzled on top. Conveniently placed coffee shop in the radius of a few hotels. They open early, even on a Sunday. I stopped by to get an iced mocha before heading out of DC. It wasn't busy this AM and I had my drink in roughly 90 sec after chatting with the barista. There are also options for online ordering and digital self-checkout in case there's a line. My drink tasted great and there was a perfect ratio between ice, espresso and oat milk. Good quality chocolate, as well. read more

My girlfriend comes here for coffee and really likes it though it's on the pricier side. As a non-coffee drinker, I really like the breakfast sandwiches. Most recently I had the salmon toast, which has a nice pile of salmon and is on surprisingly flavorful bread. I'd give that 5 stars. Space is a bit claustrophobic and pre-orders aren't always ready on time. Otherwise great! read more

I went here early in the morning when I was on a business trip. The staff were incredibly friendly and polite. I ordered an avacado toast, a coffee, and a smoothie. Everything was excellent -- fresh, delicious. It is a simple, fast outlet, very clean, with lots of light. Not a place where you are going to hang out all day, but a great place to grab something quick and reliable. And another shout out to the lovely people who work here. Thanks for brightening my morning. read more

Food is okay - the people here have a major attitude. Would recommend avoiding this location, and for over $25 for a drink and a salad, they really need to learn how to be polite, organized, and not snap at customers read more

This coffee place conveniently located by the Embassies in DC. Perfect place to get your caffeine fix and breakfast before you go to your embassy appointment. For my drink, I ordered a Machiatto (this is actually a shots--not a regular Machiatto/Latte Drink) the barista was really good getting your drinks right and the presentation looked so perfect. I also had a Chai Latte- I enjoyed the final coffee presentation! For my breakfast, I had the avocado toast with LOT, smoked salmon and poached egg. This review is for this specific location only: there is a stark diffence compared with another DC branch we liked a lot. In short: unfriendly staff, paper cups only, meals only packaged to go, although there is dedicated outdoor seating at this location which is shabby and the tables are not cleaned between patrons. Order not delivered to the table: you have to inquire and wait inside. Menu is limited : glorified fast food if this is what you are looking for. read more

Bad attitude service. Ambiance is basic. Poorly made drinks. Food is basic and premade and put together by non cook made food. Would not recommend. read more

Great service. You can scan QR code to order which is very convenient. I ordered breakfast bowl, added salmon and a small latte. Their small latte is other cafes' medium latte. The latte is pretty good. I love the ambiance and the inside is super cute. My first thought of the breakfast bowl is that it was a little sour but welp that's because I didn't mix it up. So don't forget to mixxxxxxx your bowl/salad everyone! Also I'm so glad I added the salmon. The smokiness and saltiness really leveled up the regular breakfast bowl. I would totally come back. It's a perfect place to catch up with your friends or just to do work! read more

Bluestone is nestled along a circle drive. The interior is decorated with a streamline approach with blue and white accents. The place is clean and welcoming. Meh. I found this place to be a bit of a letdown. For months, I'd been enticed by the menu photos on my DoorDash app. So when I found myself in the general vicinity on a sunny Sunday afternoon, I decided to take a chance and place an order from this place once and for all. But overall, I was not impressed. I ordered the avocado toast (and paid extra to add bacon) and a Keen Green smoothie. By the time you include the extra DoorDash fees and tip, this meal cost me nearly $30!!!! It was nowhere near worth that -- and I'll never do it again. Here's the low-down: First, my food was not ready at the time that the app estimated. That was a problem because there is extremely limited street parking right in front of the cafe -- so I had no choice but to park illegally to go inside and pick up my order, only to find that it wasn't even ready like it should have been. I was so afraid I was going to get a ticket because I was blocking the entrance/exit to the alley that runs alongside the cafe. So I was super stressed about that and having to keep a watchful eye on my car while standing inside waiting for my order. Second, the meal itself wasn't anything to write home about. The smoothie is something I could have made for myself for half the price and double the satisfaction. Also, I didn't like the toppings in the smoothie (like the coconut, IIRC) and learned that I don't like all those frills because it makes the drink seem less like a beverage and more like a breakfast bowl. (Also, the store failed to give me a straw in the first place -- so I had to "drink" the smoothie with a spoon anyway!). Additionally, the avocado toast was just basic, with strips of bacon laid across it that were cold by the time I got to my location to eat it. It tasted fine, but again not $30 worth of fine. This was not a spectacular meal in any way, shape, or form. The best I could say about the entire meal is that it was packaged well and traveled well. But that's about it. All in all, I would not patronize this place again. read more

Stayed in the Darcy hotel with my family over the weekend and had the best experience at Bluestone. Everyone there was so friendly and welcoming. I ordered a dirty chai latte and it was perfect. As you walk in you are treated in a very comforting way and the locals are nice and polite because even they great you and start a conversation. I can see why it always so busy. They had a Milo in this location which made me feel at home since I am big milo fan just this time i did something i never due to it, i added a expresó shot and it changed the flavor drastically. I loved it, the only thing i can suggest is for them to either not have such a bitter shot. Maybe even redial that machine. Will be back soon. read more

This is a smaller location, so think more of a coffee shop feel rather than a full restaurant like their West End location. I LOVE Bluestone Lane's turmeric, beet and green tea lattes.
