I choose this company because of its reviews here. I had a 100 year old table and chairs that I needed moved and delivered without getting scratched. They did that and very nicely wrapped it and each chair. Two guys, can't remember their names now, worked their butts off! In order for me to say that they had to work hard. There was no time taken joke around on my clock. These guys were fast, efficient and professional. As an added bonus they were also personable. They asked questions and listened. I have moved about 4 times since living in Austin (using different movers every time) and I've always had issues in terms of furniture being broken, the crew taking their jolly time trying to run up the clock, and overall just rude people. Green Gorilla Movers were all around excellent! Very affordable, friendly, and courteous. On very short notice, I scheduled an early Sunday morning move to move out of my Sister's house. Lewis and Bryce arrived at the very beginning of the time window they had given me, so I didn't have to wait around. They were super fast, even though I elected to do the hourly rate option, and were very quiet so as to barely disturb my sleeping roomates. On the day of my move the movers showed up in street clothes and their truck was a rental, they did not have enough tape or shrink wrap and they damaged my coffee table and dresser. At the end of the move they asked for cash or a check as payment because something was wrong with their card swiper, I didn't have checks or enough cash so they said the office will call to collect payment and talk about the damages. It's been over a month and I have not heard from them so hopefully they went out of business. read more

I called Green Gorilla one day before my move (which I shouldn't have done--plan ahead next time) but they were glad to help out. When I got my quote--and I think it's a very reasonable one-- I was given a window of 2 hours when the movers would show up. Well, they called me 15 minutes early and arrived perfectly on time. I didnt plastic wrap my furniture or anything, and they did it for me. I had a big stereo with 3 speakers and a flat screen tv which I was planning on taking in my car, since I didnt know how to box/wrap them. Oscar and the other 2 guys (sorry I am bad with names guys) said they'd wrap the tv and stereo and take it with them. Loved it! Less thigs for me to struggle with. Everything was done in less than 3 hours, which I think is superb. I hope I don't move again in the near future but if I do, these are the guys I'm calling! And for now, I'll recommend them to friends. read more

I had green gorilla send me over two people to move items from my pack rat storage container into my new apartment on the 3rd floor. They sent Jose and Randy who were simply awesome! All my crap literally flew out of the container and upstairs. Not to say they were not careful with my stuff though. They used padded dollies and let me know about damages on my stuff. (They didn't do it, I did it trying to move myself into the container) lesson learned! Next time I will just ask for these guys! The rates were reasonable and no hidden fees. Just moved yesterday in pouring rain and fairly cold weather (for Texas). The movers were prompt, courteous, careful and skilled with all my stuff and were pretty friendly considering they were working in such crappy conditions. They showed up in a "budget" truck which doesn't matter because they did a very good job! Travis, Brice and Matt helped move our company, an architecture firm located in a historical house in downtown Austin..meaning lots of creaky stairs and tight corners they had to work with. They had to disassemble and reassemble plenty of workstations, move monitors, drafting tables etc..oh and they did this while all the employees were working. Let me just say, they kicked ass! They were extremely respectful to the workplace, were very careful handling drafting tables and drawings, were very friendly and professional and made it very evident that they had plenty of experience and enjoyed what they did. All of the employees thought they were awesome and we will actually be using them again next Thursday to help with our next phase of moving. I definitely recommend Green Gorilla Movers! I'm surprised people are still posting positive reviews on these guys. Based on other reviews and their website being down, it sure looks like they are out of business. Not to kick a dead horse, but we did not have a good experience with Green Gorilla. We chose them based on their good reviews, the fact they were eco-conscious, etc. To their credit, they were good about scheduling. The three person crew showed up on time. Most of things were moved without any issue. However, they dropped one of dressers off a dolly and splintered a corner. They also tried to jam our refrigerator through a tight opening, poking a hole in the water line. They finally ended up taking the doors of the fridge (seems like this should have been the first thing they tried) and got it in. The main guy on the crew apologized, took pictures of the damaged dresser and water line, sent it to his boss, said they would contact us quickly about fixing things, blah, blah, blah. After two weeks we heard nothing. I called and asked what the deal was. The person I spoke to said they didn't know anything about the damage, but would take of things. Thus began the saga. Months, yes months, went by without anything being done. I had to initiate all of the communication. I was passed around to several different people. At least two of them, Josh Jaramillo and Chris Ferguson, claimed to be the owner at some point. Everyone I spoke with promised to get things fixed ASAP, apologized, etc. Occasionally my hopes would be raised. At one point they asked for the model number of the fridge so they could order a replacement water line. I provided it. Then, silence. At some point later a different person asked for the part number of the water line. Not hard to find when you have the model number, but whatever. I gave them the part number. More silence. Yet another person contacted me about the part number. I gave it to them again and told them I had already provided this information weeks ago. News to the guy on the phone. At that point he admitted he had been hired the day before and had been asked to deal with this. He also coughed up that Green Gorilla had just fired there entire office staff, because of something to the effect of bookkeeping irregularities. Not good. To his credit (thank you Ryan) he came out soon after that and replaced the water line. Start to finish on the fridge repair - more than 3 months. The dresser still is not fixed (more than 5 months now) and I doubt it ever will be. Again, occasional fits and starts about getting it fixed. "We're trying to get a repairman to come to your house. How big is it? Can we ship it somewhere? Can you live without it for awhile if we ship it out? Can we buy you a new one? (was hopeful on this but, unfortunately it's not being made anymore), yada, yada, yada" At this point I would have just taken some money and got it fixed myself, but seems pointless now that they're gone. I wanted to make it work with theses guys. I liked their idea of being green. I was as patient as any sane person could be. Alas, it was not to be. read more

Quite disappointed after all the great reviews and my neighbor used them on their move and spoke very highly. I contacted them and they scheduled visits twice and cancelled twice on short notice. I was told they would send me information via email, which they did not. My phone calls were not returned and I wrote an email to the owner and never received any response. Horrible! Booked them, but supposedly they went out of business two weeks before and are now with working under a different name, but never advised us. Hence why they don't have their big eco friendly truck anymore. They scratched up our new floors and the mover fought with me and told me he didn't do it and threatened to stop the move. He came back in with the dolly and we both watched his dolly scratch huge marks into the floor again. He finally took ownership that his dolly caused over $1800 in damages and almost stopped the sale of our house because of the extent of the damage to the floors. They then slowed down to a snails pace as they are paid by the hour once they knew they cause the damage. They wouldn't pay for the floor damages with out multiple quotes, but our house was no longer ours by the time they got around to calling us back to have the inspections done. They also chipped two pieces of furniture badly as well. They gave us $500 to settle because their insurance needed the three quotes. I have used them three times before and they are absolutely horrible now. Do not use this company. read more

Man these guys were great!! I opted for 3 guys this time because the last company I hired had to call a 3rd man as the first two they sent me weren't performing well. They ended up taking a couple of hours more than they needed to. HOWEVER, these 3 guys were well-oiled machines. Performed magnificently, like champs! They had the truck packed and unpacked in record time and were professional, polite, efficient, knowledgeable and safe with all of our stuff including our 100+ year old family heirloom desk. One of them informed me that he may have scratched the floor in the new house not knowing that the scratch was already there from the previous tenant - he told me he "didn't want to hide anything" from me. How awesome is that? ULTRA-Happy with this experience. Also, their truck actually runs off of bio-diesel which is an added bonus. Out of all our other experiences with moving (ie. utilities, cleaning services, landscaping services, etc.) this crew outshined them all by a longshot. I can't say enough good stuff about this experience. Never had an experience anywhere close to this. We just completed a move with Green Gorilla and couldn't be happier. From the start Rachel was extremely helpful and very responsive. She answered all of our questions and provided several quotes based on different options we were requesting. All of the charges were clearly explained upfront and I knew exactly what to expect to pay. Once finalized the scheduling was quick and easy. We also took advantage of their partnership with Bronko Boxes and had a great experience with that service as well. The moving crew arrived on time and called prior to their arrival to check in. Bryce and his crew, Jo and Gavin, were professional, courteous, personable, and efficient. What we thought would be an 8 hour move took only 6 hours. In addition, they offered to help us put together bed frames or move any furniture around in the new house. These guys made the move smooth and painless. Fantastic! Even on a hundred-degree day in mid-July, the Green Gorillas were cheerful, friendly and helpful. They were conscientious about scheduling -- they even called to make sure we had the correct schedule when I accidentally mentioned the wrong day. And on the moving day itself, they efficiently sorted furniture going to two different locations and put all the furniture right where we wanted it. Great moving company! Our recent move from Boston, MA was stressful enough with our long distance carrier changing arrival dates for our trailer on us but John Flores (owner) was responsive and accommodating each time we had to tweak our dates. I had called several Austin movers beforehand and was not met with nearly the same kind of laid back flexibility and "can-do" attitude. GGM just wanted to make sure we were covered when we needed them. Calvin and Jesse showed up right on time and went quickly to work. Handled our belongings with kid gloves. Were polite and gentle with placing things down (especially on the new hardwood floors). Worked fast and even went above and beyond by honoring a request to store a few things in the attic. Two movers were punctual, professional, polite and very efficient moving a large two piece china cabinet from one house to another and then several items from my house to Goodwill. It seemed to take a tad long, based on all the other reviews I read, but I think they were taking time to organize the truck so they could get it all done in one trip (which they did).
