The lady at the counter was annoyed at something/someone, wasn't paying attention and wasn't friendly at all. We got two chicken salads and it was pretty decent! After spending a couple of hours in the Space Needle & having devoured a bagel up there, I really wanted to have something of a light lunch sorts. Just across the road saw this Grecian restaurant & decided to walk in. Service was decent, though slow & the restaurant was vegetarian friendly. I opted for a Fried eggplant on pita, with salad. Though the portion was just right it was more than filling & the extra Fries with Feta just could not be finished. The eggplant was well cookies& Fried, had a wonderful twist to it. I must've ordered the wrong thing or something cuz I seem to be the odd one out with these reviews! I got the steak and greek salad from their House Specialties list and it was definitely nothing to be excited about. The steak was cooked rare like I requested, but it was tough and chewy signifying cheap meat. There was also a bluish tint on one side of the steak, so I cut that part out and ate the rest. I know I'm crazy, I should've complained... but I was hungry and a hungry girl has got to fill her belly! The greek salad next to the steak had nothing on it! It was basically romaine lettuce, some feta cheese, and a few teensy slivers of WHITE onions - one wait, I think I remember seeing one small slice of cucumber. Umm, greek salad is one of my favorite salads and a TRUE greek salad needs to have olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta cheese, and RED onions. The dressing was gross too - it just tasted like oil. I was really hoping to discover a little gem. despite the sterile generic building it is in.. Seriously. The first time I went I had a their "Souvlakia - Pork or Chicken" from their "House Specialties" menu section. It was really tasty with the kind of spice I expected. I wasn't disappointed with my selection. They even took the time to slightly warm the baklava. Yet, on the second visit, I was mildly disappointed. I ordered another house specialty, "Spanakopita and Greek Salad" and the spanakopita was still almost freezer cold in the thickest part. Had this not been on the "Specialties" menu, I might have been more forgiving... I had been vacillating... 3.4 or 3.6 to land a 3 or 4 star review. Sadly, the cold spanakopita nailed it for now. Overall, this seems to be a family run business and for the price it's not bad. But, I could not over look the spanakopita being cold given that it is on their House Specialties menu. Also, it took me two visits to realize I could pay for my meal and provide a tip after I ate. I don't like paying the tip before services are rendered. read more

I don't know how long they've been here, but I work in the area and the lady in the front is extremely unprofessional and rude. It's like she's ready to get into a fight ... The atmosphere is disorganized and the staff could use an attitude adjustment. I asked for a to go cup and she said no we don't give those unless it's a to go order cause they cost too much .. I then asked for a straw and she gave me a snotty "straws are not allowed in Seattle" umm plastic straws are not allowed in Seattle and I'm not a tourist. She then started texting on her phone. For being in such a high profile area, you'd think they'd have better service skills and keep the place cleaner. The food was edible and basic but the service left a bad taste in my mouth. I live really close to Grecian Corner so I have definitely frequented this place quite a few times. That being said, the food is OK but if I had better Greek options around my place I would probably go to those places in stead. The gyro is okay. I think they must get it in bulk from a place like Costco or something and throw it on the grill. They do add plenty of sauce and tomatoes in the pita, which I appreciate. The falafel is also okay. I think the falafel could have been a little more moist, as the outside was very fried and greasy. The Greek salad is also okay. Their dressing is extremely oily and you have to shake up the bottle, but for some reason I like it. The waffle fries are deliciously fried and I could eat a whole plate of these, however. Service can be hit or miss. I think the owner lady does a good job but the other day I went with my boyfriend and there was another server that was extremely unattentive. She did not give us our waters until we had been there for a good 15 minutes or so, waiting for our food. I also asked for a limonata but she apparently took it that I wanted a lemon in my salad. I don't know. Today was the second time we've tried to order delivery via Amazon Prime Now. Both times the order was cancelled by the restaurant 15 minutes after the order was placed. It takes Amazon several days to refund my money, not to mention that I'm freaking starving over here. If it gets too busy turn off accepting online orders BEFORE you waste a customers time. I only came here because it was the closest restaurant that was open and the Seattle Center is kind of a maze for tourists. I got the chicken souvlaki with fries, which was decent but a little salty. My family got the pork pita and the falafel pita. Both were okay, but that was mostly because of the yogurt sauce. The service was pretty bad and the restaurant reeks of frying oil. We were hungry after looking around the Space Needle and this place was conveniently located across the street. It was a small place, I wouldn't suggest bringing a large group, although they were accomodating and patient to a party of 6. It's casual, you order at the counter from the wife?, grab your own drinks and seat yourself while waiting for the husband? to cook up your meal. I had the lamb sandwich special with a Greek salad. The sandwich was huge. The French bread was soft, but had been lightly grilled with garlic butter. There was a ton of juicy lamb, but also a ton of fat. I had to pull out the meat and cut off the fat before chowing on my sandwich. The salad was fresh and plentiful. I also had a bite of pork kebab and it was well seasoned and tender. It was a lot of food and we were all stuffed, you might want to share or be ready for leftovers. I definitely recommend this if you're in the area for a quick, casual meal. read more

I've had Chicken Greek Gyro's in a few places but none with FRENCH FRIES inside!!! They toast their pitas, their tzatziki sauce is really thick, creamy and packed full of garlic and they offer a salad in lieu of waffle fries for no additional charge. You're able to sit outside while looking at the Space Needle on a beautiful Seattle summers day and well - it was all pretty perfect. read more

For some reason, I've been getting a lot of Greek food lately, and I can't decide which place I like the most because they're all really good! I guess I just love Greek food. Grecian Corner is particularly special because it doesn't suffer from a problem that I thought it would suffer from. You see, I visited Paris a year ago, and I found out that a lot of the restaurants near the Eiffel Tower were downright terrible in addition to being extremely overpriced. We don't have that problem here, since this restaurant offers a scenic view of the Space Needle (it's right there in plain sight), the prices are still low, and the food is great! Boy, am I happy to be able to feel like a tourist without feeling like a tourist! The waitress who served me was not haughty or rude, and I guess that's America for you. I ordered a lamb souvlakia with Greek salad on the side, and it was really well put together. The lamb is just skewered pieces of meat on two sticks, and I figured it was too much trouble to remove them and place them in the pitas, so I just ate them separately. The salad had a very strong flavor to it, probably because of the sauce I poured over it and the lemon I squeezed on it. These guys really know how to cook! It's a shame I didn't get to try some more of their menu; I had to go and didn't have the time to stick around. They had a dessert section, but I've never found those to be worth it. $3.25 for baklava... jeez. But just skimming through the rest of their menu, I see that almost everything is priced in the single digits, and that's a relief for a restaurant in such a great location. It's like they're not even taking advantage of the fact and are pretending to be unaware of its proximity to the Space Needle, which I appreciate greatly. If there's an excellent place for a tourist or a local to have a meal in the area, it's this one! read more

Liars. We completed a transaction to purchase water and have my 14 year old daughter use the restroom. As I was swiping my card, the woman made a point to tell us she needed to give us instructions for the facilities. After she charged us for the two bottles of water, she revealed that the restrooms were located in the adjacent main building. She gave us a code to get into the restrooms but the building was locked. To add insult to injury, she was sure to lock the doors to her café so that we couldn't get back in when we asked her for additional directions. She could see us through the glass and simply waved us away. If they are comfortable with this type of deception for $5, what are they capable of doing to your food? read more

My Falafel gyros was so bland. Falafels, iceberg lettuce and barely any Taziki sauce. When I requested more they charged me a $1 for a tiny thing of it. Then when I tasted it it was plain yogurt with no lemon juice or garlic. Really really boring bland Mediterranean food. read more

TERRIBLE. Myself and my three year old picked up lunch their today, they saw we were from out of town and charged us an 18% "service fee". The food is so good, and the people that own it are super nice. I wish I knew about this place sooner. I went with my family and it was even better then I imagined. My daughter had a cheeseburger and my son had a chicken skewer and when I asked them how it was they told me that is was even better then my cooking! They have limited options in their menu. They don't serve rice and our group was bit surprised by that. The person at the counter is pretty curt. The 4 stars is only for the food! This place is perfect four a tourist who can see past some of the big names nearby and head to a quieter, more local shop. It's right across from the Space Needle in Fischer Plaza, so it attracts business people as well as tourists, making it a busy place on your typical weekday. I love the humus, baba ganoush, the round seasoned fries and the salads. My cousin came with me last time I went, and she loved the gyro. She was still talking about it later that day. I wish it was a little bigger though - if you are in a rush, order ahead by calling. read more

This place is a family-owned joint with the wife as cashier/waitress and husband as cook. It's located opposite of the Sports Bar (GO BEARS!) and has a very modern feel to the design. If you're thinking a gyro is a gyro, you owe it to yourself to check out Grecian Corner and correct that misconception once and for all. On my fourth visit to Grecian Corner I finally decided to go for the lamb & beef gyro. I think I scanned right past it every time before because - hey, it's just a gyro, right? Well, okay, it is pita bread folded around shaved savory roast meats that are drizzled with tsatsiki and laced with tomatoes and onions. So in that respect, it's just a gyro. But holy mother of god, how do they make it burst with flavor like that? Is in the meat or the sauce? I can't even tell but this thing is so freshly herbed I think they're growing the oregano right there in the kitchen. Oh, and by the way, when you're trying to decide between the salad or fries for your side, just know you can't choose wrong. The salad is real, real good, but the fries are madman. So good luck with that decision. On past visits I've had the Greek salad, the chicken souvlaki and the Grecian Burger, all of which were outstanding. And speaking of Out and Standing you might want to hit this place outside of the noon-to-one hour on a workday because during that time those are your most likely seating options. If I could wish one thing for Loui and Tina it'd be another 200 or 300 square feet so they could share their culinary genius and hospitality with more of the huddled masses. read more
