I was doing the tourist thing up in Seattle (hey, we all do it sometimes) and we stopped by this place after visiting the Space Needle. We were hungry and just wanted something quick before we headed out. I was surprised to find that the food was REALLY good. I got the falafal pita with salad, and a piece of baklava for dessert. My brother got a gyro and fries, and SIL got some kind of chicken pita with fries. Being a vegetarian, I didn't try either of their sandwiches, but they both said they were good. I DID steal some fries though, and thought the seasoning was great. I was really impressed with the texture of my falafal pita. The pita was hot and soft, and the falafal was not too hard, and very tasty! The salad was salad - I thought my lettuce had a couple of less than fresh spots on it, but overall, I can't complain (but, it's hard to screw up a salad). My only complaint is I didn't really think it was that fast. I thought our food took a while to come out - at least, longer than I expected. Not terrible though. Grecian Corner is across the street from the Space Needle. The place is actually pretty classy inside. A great place for tourist, locals and fun for lunch dates. The menu is packed with sensational traditional Mediterranean fast foods (such as dolmades, avgolemono, gyros, assorted kebabs, vegetarian food, calamari, baklava, etc...) and some American favorites (like burgers and chicken tenders). There were plenty good offerings and I went with a gyro, fries & coke zero. They served waffle fries with a light seasoning. I'm thinking salt, garlic and thyme. There must be plentry stuff in the gyro too. Because it's super flavorful even with raw salad vegetables and thick yogurt added into the pita roll. Annoyed that I drove and walked by so many times when it was not time to eat. After an underwhelming TurkFest, we walked over from the Center and had a great lunch. Fresh vegetables, great dolmathes, succulent chicken and great dressing were the start. They shave the Gyro meat so it is presented the way it is supposed to be, unlike those gross thick bacon strip presentations at the lousy Gyro joints. The best surprise was the Kefta. The Grecian Conner has a very good lunch menu. The gyros are pretty good and the check skewers plate is really good. Every meal comes with a salad or fries. The only thing they need to improve is more space. At lunch time it can get really crowded. read more

First of all the location is PERFECT. It's so close to the space needle, chihuly garden and glass, and the emp museum (all great tourist attractions by the way). We ordered at the front, sat down outside because the view was marvelous, and waiting for our food in the comfortable atmosphere. Staff was super nice and engaged in conversation. They truly seem like the care about their customers. The food was INCREDIBLE. I tried the falafel pits and it was cooked perfectly. All pitas come with a side of fries or Greek salad, and both options are so tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who is near by visiting, and even to locals! read more

Most of their menu, I think, isn't really a good value per dollar - everything feels just a little higher than my brain thinks it 'ought' to be. But the gyro with salad or fries? Deal for the money territory. Priced right and delivers in spades. First, you can't go wrong with the salad or fries. Pick either, they're both good and you get a lot. The gyros themselves? Adequate, I think. They're not bad, they're about 95% meat if that's your thing, but I'm just not feeling them as great gyros. And I love meaty gyros. Also not a huge fan of the falafel here. Still, with the generous portion size, friendly staff, and speedy take-out I've never been let down. Bad service, we got treated like dirt when we ordered. The waitress acted like we were an inconvieniece. We were told that everything had to be packaged to go and then she served all the pepple around us on plates. They were all out of salad at 4:00 in the afternoon. The gyros was cold and bland and It took over 20 mins to get made. Stay away, better food and service at nearby subway. First time in Seattle. Amazing. Falafel pita: perfect made... If you like heat ask to make it spicy. Great taste. Right across from space needle... Bakalava: I have had them in Detroit, chicago, la, Houston and in San Fran... However the one they have here is by far the best... They syrup is home made by mother and son makes baklava... Totally overpriced - they wanted 2.00 for one piece of pita bread when they didn't serve enough with the hummus. Just went here today and I am not exaggerating when I say that I couldn't and still cannot stop thinking about that lamb gyro I had! Because of this, I just had to write a review! Seriously the most flavorful, tender, and perfectly sliced meat and perfect ratios all across on the gyro, especially their delicious sauce! Each bite was super consistent, which so many places I have gone to for gyros in the past have not been able to perfect. Also, I've never had such a wonderfully wrapped gyro either-- even with the plentiful portion nothing had a chance of falling out because of the masterful wrapping. I appreciate their attention to detail, from the way they cut their meat to the toasting of the pita bread. Additionally, service was nothing but wonderful. The person who rang us up was so sweet, patient, and got our food to us at a more than reasonable speed. It is easy to see that they are proud of what they serve! It's definitely a family run business, and this family puts their heart and skill into their food as it shines through in quality and taste. Worth every penny for their amazing gyros (honestly though, being a family run business with a location like theirs, rent must be intense so I don't mind paying a little more for quality and supporting their biz) and refreshing side salad with their wonderful vinaigrette! I only have wonderful things to say about this restaurant. I went two nights in a row: on the first night they were about to close and the owner Tina was kind enough to offer to make me something to go. I didn't feel rushed to make a selection at all. I loved it so much that I came back the second day for another to go order for myself and a friend. Loui and Tina were kind and friendly. The food is well portioned, tasty and affordable! Big one wanted Greek on our way to an event at Seattle Center. She really liked her Gyro and fries (I tried it, it was alright - I don't like fries in my Gyro). I really wanted soup and they had none (waitress was actually kinda rude about it). I ordered the hummus, tzatiki, pita plate. This was my first stop for food in my recent trip to Washington State. I just came to see the USS Constellation (my dad's ship, back in the day) in Bremerton before it was chopped up into scrap, but my dad wanted to check out the city as well (and hey, why not?). After about twenty minutes in the Seattle Center we just wanted to sit down and get something to eat. We weren't worried about it being the best food in Seattle, or even particularly good. In fact, I assumed based on the surroundings that it would be pretty awful. In truth, it wasn't half bad. We both had a gyro and fries plate; the meat itself was cooked well, and the sandwich wasn't loaded up with filler ingredients. The pitas are just pulled out of a bag and warmed up, though, not made fresh. The waffle fries were filling, but needed salt. The service was pretty good. Tolerant of our shell-shockedness in our first experience of downtown Seattle, which was definitely something we needed. I wish I could give 3.5 stars. The food wasn't remarkable or even something I'd consider seeking out again if I were in the area, but it wasn't completely "meh" either. Right across from the Space Needle, this unassuming Grecian Corner is located. My boyfriend and I walked in, ordered our lunch at the counter, and then waited briefly for our table to be cleared off. I ordered Spanakopita, which came with Greek salad. There were 2 medium-sized and deep-fried triangles of Spanakopita. They were both super crispy, filled with lots of spinach, feta, and spices. I was expecting a baked and square-shaped one, but theirs were pretty awesome as well. My boyfriend's got a regular gyro with a side salad. The gyro did not blow my socks off, but I did enjoy the flavour. If you are hungry and don't want to eat at the Armory, I believe this place is a nice alternative. read more

I love a place where after 1 visit they remember your name. I'm not saying that Loui and Tina will remember your name after your first visit, but they did me...could have something to do with the night my wife and I had dinner there and then talked to them for almost an hour after they closed up shop but I digress. Now I'm not a Greek food connoisseur by any stretch but I've had enough items over the years to know that most offerings are mediocre to passable at best and a smaller margin is just plain awful. Then there are those that you can qualify as good. Grecian Corner does not fit into any of these categories...their food is GREAT! My initial impression when I walked in was that it was going to be a 1 time visit and then probably never go back. I'm not usually a fan of 'in a plaza near the city's mega tourist attractions' kind of establishment, but my wife kept raving about it so I met her for dinner. She ordered the Lamb Chops with the Greek Salad and I ordered the Falafel Pita with Seasoned Fries. Being a fairly slow night, the food came out quickly and I immediately dove into the fries. KILLER!!! The fries: Waffle cut medallions of golden fried starchy goodness. Unseasoned these fries would kick ass, a solid 8. The special recipe Greek Seasoning just ramped them to 11. Man were they good. The Falafel: Hot (seriously, not just warm, hot as in you have to let it cool for a minute before you pick it up), soft, tender pita bread with just the right amount of golden-brown crispiness in parts to give a textural contrast. Inside were 3 large falafels; crispy shells on the outside, fluffy, steamy goodness on the inside. Slathered in the best Tzatziki (house made of course) this anglo boy has ever had. Just for good measure were some tomatoes and onions. Lamb Chops: In 1 word, tender. As you would expect from lamb...but these were cooked to perfection. Seared on the outside, juicy on the inside and seasoned with what seemed to be the same seasoning on the fries. The salad: Crisp Romaine. Tomatoes. Red Onion. Bell Pepper. Feta. Olive. Greek Seasoning. Oil and balsamic vinaigrette. 'Nuff said. It's the what you expect...only perfect. I could eat 3 servings of this easily. Baklava: I thought my wife was going to go into a coma from delirium. Her exact words were, "This is the best baklava ever. I've never tasted better baklava." Personally having never tasted bad baklava I'm not one to dispute her claim. Phyllo, honey and nuts. What's not to like? (unless you happen to be allergic to nuts...then you have my deepest sympathies) Ok...time to wrap this up. She took me there on a Thursday (2/7/08) for dinner and I was taking my coworkers there on Friday for lunch. They had the unfortunate first impression of coming in here on 'Barack-Obama-visits-Seattle' day and GC was PACKED! Then we went back the following Tuesday and Wednesday for lunch and things went smoothly. I just went back today to meet my wife for lunch. It's safe to say I like it. What else? The gyro is the most tender and succulent gyro meat I've ever had. The Spanakopita was magnificent. HUGE individually rolled portion, beautifully crispy and delightfully in it's simplicity. Using the Yelp monocle (in the Yelp app), we decided to give this place a try a couple weeks ago. The restaurant space was reasonable comfortable, but clearly intended for short meals. Service was good, with one lady waiting all the tables at the time we went. Food on the other hand was merely ok. The gyros looked like the gyro patties you buy frozen, and didn't pack much punch at all. All the sandwiches we had had fries in them, which I'm never really for or against. The fries on the side of the sandwiches were pretty good though. Our Greek salad, likewise, was nothing to write home about. In all, I think I will try somewhere else next time I'm there, but you could probably count on having a safe, reasonably tasty meal here. read more

Being in the middle of the tourist action at the base of an office building I thought they'd know how to do some fast turn-around. This was _not_ the case. I got the souvlaki pita, my husband got the gyro pita. Both came with salad. The salad was a bit of nothing and the Good Seasons dressing (literally the Good Seasonings shake bottle) on the table did nothing to inspire confidence. I enjoyed my Souvlaki although the tzatziki didn't really add anything to the meal. My husband's gyros were just OK. I don't think he bothered to finish the whole thing although it was inoffensive. The cashier lady was rude. When the cashier lady served our food, I asked for more white sauce and she said that it's inside the gyro. Obviously I wanted more so I asked the gentleman in the back and the cashier lady yelled with an attitude "hey I can help you over here!" That ruined my appetite and made us feel uncomfortable. She was very friendly to her white friends. I don't know if it's because we're Asian but we definitely did not feel welcome there. I hadn't been here in over a year, since I was pregnant, so it made me wonder if pregnancy made it yummier at the time or if it indeed was better a year ago. Service was the same as it always was, quiet and slightly unfriendly. The chicken souvlaki pita, which I've order before, was very disappointing. The texture of the chicken was rubbery and dry, almost like it was jerky. Can we say overmarrinated?! While I love tzatziki sauce there was too much on the pita, all you tasted was the marinade and tzatziki. As for the fries, which to my surprise were not the amazing waffle cut fries they used to give you, but now are crinkle cut fries that are so chunky they don't have an opportunity to crisp up like the waffle cuts did before, were also very disappointing! I've experienced better here before, but like I said it was a year ago and I'm not willing to have another subpar lunch just to see if this visit was a fluke. read more
