Turkey club & house made chips
    Lizzy C.

Looking at the menu online before arriving it looked very basic, however upon arrival their daily specials counter was full of delightful looking foods. I ordered their Turkey club special, served with house made bbq chips (didnt know that when I ordered and added fries). Be aware that if you order a special, they pull it right out of the counter. Items I thought were display only is the sandwich I was served. Not too bad for a club but I would be scared if I had ordered the egg salad sandwich as I have no idea how long they have been sitting there. The edge of the bread was getting hard from being on display and the chips were slightly stale. The fries were good but the buzzer they gave us didnt work and it sat for pick up longer than we would have liked so some of the fries were cold. We both ordered watermelon mint refreshers which were really good. My friend also got a caramel iced coffee that she said was good and she could feel it in her veins. Seattle makes strong coffee. I think if we came back here I would not order from the specials counter due to the food sitting. However I was surprised at the quality of the food that was being cooked fresh.

We came in here to get some drinks before entering the museum and was shocked at the prices. A can of soda was $5. I ended up getting an Italian soda with strawberry. It was pricer than the soda but I didn't mind that... I just couldn't pay $5 for a can of coke. The Italian soda was pretty good. It was club soda with strawberry flavoring .

Consistently good food options, the times I have eaten here with my aunt when visiting the Museum of Pop Culture. Culture Kitchen is located just in and to the side of the main entrance/exit to the museum on 5th Avenue North. I have had the burger and fries and this time, Tuesday 22 August 2023, the Seattle Philly with fries. Pricing was in the $15 to $20 range each time, fries included. The fries each time were well salted and crisp, though not too oily. Between the burger and the Seattle Philly, I preferred the burger. The cheese on the Seattle Philly was a bit strong, though the bun was soft and the meat mixture inside the bun was not sparse on veggies. The tables are well set-up and are in a bus-your-own-table style. Napkins, water, and condiments are available by where one places one's order.

Culture Kitchen is located inside Museum of Pop Culture on the Seattle Center campus at 325 5th Ave. North. You can enter through MoPOP or it's own main street entrance. Food was decent. A bit pricey in my opinion for the amount of food. It is about the same price point as most museum, botanical gardens, and event food locations. I had the Pork Belly Banh Mi ($18) with a Diet Coke. Total cost was $24.26 for a sandwich and drink with tax and tip for one. Service was pretty much self service kiosk or phone ordering with only real interaction from food pick up. Ambiance was cool. Modern vibe with an indoor open seating area and a full bar. Indoor dining area is open so you can see out into the lobby of the Museum of Pop Culture and all the activity. We set outside in the outdoor seating area and enjoyed the weather. I would have gone with four stars if I felt like my sandwich was more full and not so skimpy for the price. It was ok and we needed to eat. I would recommend if you are spending some time at MoPOP as it's super convenient and also a good option if you are at the Seattle Center.

    The Baby Wedge salad.

I ordered the "baby wedge" salad. It was the best wedge/blue cheese salad I've had in years. Also, it is a BIG baby, if you ask me. I'll be back. UPDATE: Have also had the Philly & the Hometown Burger. Both also 5 stars.

    Crab Deviled Eggs

The restaurant is very spacious and clean with a modern vibe to it. The service is spot on with friendly staff. The food was good and had an interesting concept. The deviled eggs were creamy and the crab kicked it up a notch. The pretzel charcuterie was filling and great to share. Everything was fresh and paired well together. For the drink, the Bloody Mary was spiced perfectly and the kimchi went well with it. To top it off, it even had a probiotic shot in it. Overall, this is a great place for a bite before or after the museum.

    Chicken and waffles

The staff is always nice! Pretty fast considering peak summer rush. Although the drinks can take a while. There's ample seating upstairs and downstairs even during peak summer rush. Overall, on the pricey side (as expected for museum foods) but pretty good (for museum food). However, MoPOP always unlimited reentry with receipt for the day during opening hours. So, unless you're starving, I would recommend taking the monorail down to Pike Place or go somewhere around the area for more options, and higher quality more affordable food. 1. BLT - probably my favorite out of everything taking price into account. It's not horrendously expensive, and sometimes I crave this sandwich. Just look at that thick cut bacon! 2. Poke - For $18, this costs as much as other poke places in the area so not a bad deal! The fish is surprisingly pretty fresh and they a variety of plentiful toppings! Nothing exceptional, but a solid choice. 3. Chicken and waffles - my partner and I were blown away by this! To be fair, we have low expectations for museum food but this has no business being that good! I'm regularly have chicken and waffles in Dallas, and this is pretty up to par considering other options in Seattle. Also a solid choice. Again, not a bad a place to dine at if you're hungry and just need food quickly. But if you're visiting the area, I would recommend adventuring outside Seattle Center.

bar menu and in bloom cocktail

Solid food and strong drinks, especially for a museum restaurant. Ate at the bar, Emily the bartender was wonderful. Very welcoming and kind. Vibes are great, loved the pop culture themed drink menu. Got the In Bloom cocktail - strong, spicy, unique and the deviled eggs.

Tucked down the alley by the gum wall, it's a great option for wood fired pizzas. The space is fairly small and very low-lit, but thriving with energy. Our service was fantastic, drinks were good, but besides the pizza the food was pretty hit or miss. We had a table of 4 and we kept the table full the entire time. We started off with a salad, spicy mac n cheese, cheese sticks, and Brie and cheese. Salad was light and refreshing. The cheese sticks were pretty normal, but also good. The spicy mac n cheese to me had zero spice. Just some mac in a cast iron pan. The apple and Brie had a nice presentation but the smallest amount of Brie possible(my picture was too blurry to post). The Broccolini I am not sure how it was defined as broccolini because the 5 pieces that came on the plate were huge. While packed with flavors of lemon and Parmesan they had a very tree like feel and were a bit on the harder side. The El Diablo pizza, to be straight forward was by far the best part of the stop. The crust could have been a little more well done, but that's just me splitting hairs. I ate more of that than anyone else. Probably could have finished it myself if I hadn't stopped for a lobster roll beforehand. Either way, great service, good drinks and legit pizzas!

The pizza itself is actually pretty good, which is why I kept coming back and really wanted to support this small business. Unfortunately, the customer service and wait times have consistently been disappointing. Tonight, I stood at the entrance for about 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged or greeted me. The employee who eventually helped me was nice, but the overall experience still didn't feel welcoming or attentive. Over several visits, the service has just not matched the quality of the food. In this economy, it's truly a blessing for businesses to still have loyal customers coming through the door and wanting to support local spots. At the very least, customers should feel welcomed, appreciated, and taken care of when they walk in. I genuinely hope they improve the service side of things because the food has potential, the bar vibes they've created are pretty cool as well and I'd love to be able to give this place a better review in the future.

If that line is intimidating or wet (think rain!) then duck inside to Pizza and Pasta Bar for a delicious meal. While there we met the owners Bruno and Goli who were helping out behind the counter. They are the nicest people ever! So friendly and accommodating and always smiling. Their pride in their restaurant really shows in their care of the food and customers. I had the infamous meatball sandwich and my wife had the chicken carbonara. They gave us each a slice of their pizza for free as they had a bit extra from one that just came out of the oven. The food was prepared in front of you which is always interesting to watch and the charming brick pizza oven was directly in front of us so we could watch that process as well. Pretty cool. There are a wide variety of pizzas and pastas, desserts and drinks (alcohol too!) available on the menu. We ate at at the bar and had a wonderful conversation with the owners as they bustled about in the open cooking area. I enjoyed my meatball sandwich which had great crunchy crusty bread that held in the contents of melted cheese, red sauce and meatballs. A great choice to get when there. My wife liked her chicken carbonara and as the portion was pretty large, we were able to take some home for later. Extra yummy for me (ha ha)! The complimentary pizza slices were a hit for us as well. Napoli style with thin crust and flavorful toppings. We found out that Goli created the restaurant's design with the face of a woman that looks a lot like Venus in "The Birth of Venus" painting by Botticelli in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence Italy (just sayin'). Now looking back though I wish I had gotten one of their Turkish dishes as I would have liked to try their lahmacun and read another Yelpers review and this place is supposed to have the best Turkish lahmacun in the US. Oh well, I guess I will be back! The woman heated up my slice and after a few minutes, it was ready. I took my slice and went to sit outside near Pioneer Square so I could be outside and people watch. Pizza was tasty and solid, but the crust was too dry. I have a feeling the slice wasnt the most fresh, so thats why the crust was a bit dry. But, if you know me, I do jot like soggy pizza (I mean - who does??), so a bit drier isn't too big an issue. The rest of the slice was good. Slice of pizza and a diet coke came to close to $9. Gosh things are so expensive now. They do have a special of 2 slices for $8.99 but I couldnt eat two slices. Unfortunately, the experience is consistently dampened by one of weekend bartenders. As others have mentioned, it's that taller bartender (Alex?) who repeatedly comes across as arrogant and dismissive to us; a less than desirable character trait for a bartender. It's such a pity because that is the sole reason we now lead our groups to spend their money and patronize other establishments instead. Recently we did give Diller another try, but sadly it's the same story and thus this feedback. Hospitality makes a HUGE difference. Bartending isn't just about making a good drink and expecting tips. As someone who tended bar all over Seattle for 23 years, I know how much energy and attitude shape a guest's night. When the service feels cold and passive-aggressively rude, it's hard to feel good about the experience. It's disappointing, because this place has so much potential. Hopefully management considers bringing in weekend staff whose personalities reflect the warmth and atmosphere the space deserves, there are plenty of more qualified bartenders in Seattle that would gladly fill their spot.
