This is so unfortunate because I really genuinely love the breads here. But this is a review specifically about an experience I had like a month ago. I pre-ordered the high fiber bread scheduled for pick up on Monday. It was on the menu online and it accepted my payment, and considering it's a pre-order I assumed everything was good to go and they would make my order ready by Monday. I get to the store on Monday in a mad rush because I'm trying to pick up this high fiber bread to take home for my father in law flying back to Taiwan. So I literally made the trip just to get the bread in the morning and then rushed home to take him to the airport. I get to the store and apparently one of the managers said they tried to call me... at 6:30/7AM in the morning leaving me a voicemail on that same Monday I went to pick up the bread.... Basically saying they can't fulfill my order because the high fiber is not something they make on Monday??? I mean first of all, why are you taking preorders online then? Second of all, why is your online system allowing us customers to order and place in the cart if it's not available on Monday? Isn't that the point of preorder? So you know ahead of time what bread to make for customers? He then had the audacity to say... all our *regular customers* know our bread making schedule. It changes daily. Well, first of all, excuse me for not being a *regular* as in there's apparently some elitist exclusive group at great harvest bread. Also, though I'm not a *regular*, I do purchase breads from here for visitors etc from time to time and am well aware that the breads they make change daily WHICH IS WHY I PREORDERED. I was pretty upset about the whole ordeal and he compted me a Dakota bread which I don't even like. *eye roll* I think they seriously need to work on customer service etiquette and to edit their website so that it's not misleading. If you aren't able to provide the bread listed online, then don't enable it for preorders and waste our time commuting only to leave empty handed. The smell is outrageously good the minute you walk in. Yes they make bread here and who doesn't like the smell of freshly baked bread? The store is very clean and immediately upon entering I had FOMO and worried that I would miss out. I stayed focused on my goal of buying bread for sandwiches. The honey wheat seemed like the most obvious. They also offer free samples with or without butter. Three breads and two scones to choose from. I sampled the blueberry cream cheese scone. Such a great treat. Service super friendly and welcoming. Lots of other things here such as granola, popcorn, some beverages and other baked treats. Cookies, rolls and other things. Initially discovered this shop out in Beaverton Oregon when all I wanted was a cold sandwich. Didn't know I stumbled upon my favorite bread shop! Prices vary by location, and I'm not shocked that bread is a couple more dollars in Bellevue, but I'm willing to pay extra to have bread with ingredients I can pronounce! Staff is always kind and offers generous samples. They usually have more than a few different samples. The shop is nothing fancy, you get your bread and get out cause there isn't anywhere to eat inside and it can get crowded just standing around with three other people. Do yourself the favor and get the cinnamon loaf, it makes for a great gift and is yummy to eat toasted with butter at home. I put mine in the fridge to last longer! read more

My all time favorite has been the whole wheat raisin bread and cinnamon crunch loaf. Perfect breakfast options during these cold winter mornings. Pop them in the toaster and smother them with butter. I used to visit the Mountlake Lake Terrace location many many years ago and had memories of stepping through the door, being intoxicated by the aroma and greeted with a warm, fresh piece of bread and a slab of butter on it... Who could resist that and who could not buy several loaves of bread as a result?! Today I drove 8 miles to get a fresh loaf of that delicious bread because I was in Bellevue anyway, but my experience was so meh I didn't even buy a loaf of bread. It was about 8:15 AM, but this IS a bakery, so I wouldn't expect them to not have any fresh bread. I was sad to learn that they didn't have any bread that was baked today. They only had bread baked yesterday and it's the same price at $9 a loaf baked yesterday as today. At first I was told they didn't have any samples but then the gal said she could give me a slice of bread from the Sandwich bar so I accepted the offer. What I got was a heel slice with so little butter I could barely see it. The taste of the honey wheat was not remarkable. I was tasting some "other" flavor and I can't put my finger on what it was, but overall I was not a fan. I was pretty underwhelmed and decided to get a breakfast sandwich to experience what the Dakota bread might taste like. The sandwich was the size of a slider and the bread was so tough and dry, it looked and tasted like it had been microwaved. I wound up giving 3/4 of the sandwich to the crows but after that I ended up just leaving and not purchasing any bread to take home. Sorry to be writing such a review, I was so excited to get my hands on some of that good great harvest bread again, maybe a different location would be a better experience? But I'm glad I finally decided to stop in and check out all the treats. Located in a business strip, right next to QFC in the Factoria neighborhood, it's easy to find, with plenty of parking around. Great Harvest is strictly takeout only, as there are no dining tables inside. You're met with a counter full of baked goods and shelves of fresh loaves and buns. I bought a salted caramel brownie, which wasn't on the display case, but rather, on the cooling shelf. I inquired with the employee if they had more after seeing its label and they definitely did. Therefore, if you don't seen an item on the display counter, there's a good change they've baked more in the back. The brownie was solid. I'm a chocoholic, so it definitely filled my need. It was soft-baked with chunks of chocolate and salted caramel pieces. The salted caramel pieces were harder than expected, but not bad. I did like the big flecks of sea salt on top. With so many different breads, sandwiches and sweet offerings, it's worth a visit if you're in the area. Treat yo' self! read more

I love getting the hearty breads from Great Harvest! We live in the north end and I wish the Lake Forest Park location was still open, but driving down to Factoria was worth it! So many varieties of loaves, our favorite is the Dakota with sunflower and pumpkin seeds. You actually feel healthier after eating a slice! We also got a cinnamon roll which was pretty good but I wish they were more fluffy, and also wish they came with cream cheese frosting. People here are very nice. Unfortunately, I'm just not a fan of their product. The bread is just not to my liking. I like my breads with a significant crust. The bread here has a thin soft crust and they're all packaged in plastic bags which I personally don't like, but probably isn't a huge deal to most people. They also serve sandwiches for breakfast and lunch but they take a while to make and are very overpriced in my opinion. I got a bacon grilled cheese and it was $12. Breakfast sandwiches are about $6 but they're very tiny, about the size of a biscuit sandwich. I've gotten the pumpkin bread and the cinnamon bread and they both taste indistinguishable to me from the mass produced versions you could get at a local supermarket. Maybe it's just me since this place seems to get great reviews otherwise, but I just don't think the food here is good and I certainly don't think they're worth the price being charged.
