Sorry to say, below average all around. The hostess didn't bother to ask if we wanted inside or out (we would have gladly taken outside) and so we were left to wait for 15 minutes for a table. (She also took a personal call while taking my name for the table-- seemed a bit distracted.) When I saw people being seated at empty tables, I said we'd take an outside table too, and were finally seated. Dirty dishes sat on the tables around us the whole time we ate. The coffee was lukewarm. Server forgot my cream. Forgot my juice. Forgot my companion's tea. (Also, handled our glasses from the top, where we drink from-- gross. Don't do that!) The Belgian waffle was ok. The chicken wrap was mostly lettuce with some sporadic pieces of chicken here and there. I'm honestly surprised by the many positive reviews. This is the only sub-par dining experience we had in Naples. I recommend Goldie's if you're looking for a breakfast spot. read more

I'm posting this review a few days after our visit to Grappino.... But I should add I should have written the review immediately! This is five stars all the way. It started with a friendly smile from the hostess and continued on throughout dinner! We started with drinks at the bar in the lounge area... The bartender was very attentive and knowledgeable.....As a note they have daily happy hour!.... The Vibe is great, the music being played overhead was tasteful. The seating both at the bar and at our hightop was super comfortable! Following drinks at the bar we moved to our high top, where Danny, the GM, greeted us and answered our questions about the food and the restaurant. He also introduced us to the chef. Grappino's has an open kitchen which made the introduction easy We enjoyed a delicious charcuterie board, and an eggplant stack for apps. My Bronzino entrée it was delicious! My husband ordered the salt chicken and said it was delicious.... Although he is a little sensitive to salt and would choose something different the next time..... and there will be many more next times!!!! We ended our experience with the pistachio cheesecake... Absolutely decadent! We will be back.....and we will be bringing friends and family to this new hidden gem in Naples!!! read more

This place is a nice little find. With regards to the entrees you will get at least a level above what you are paying for in terms of gourmet food. Their pasta selections are the best in the area that I've seen. The risotto is average. However, Grappino excels with their Pizzas! If you are up for a reasonably priced gourmet meal that your guests can mix and match with pizza, pasta and risotto you should give Grappino a try, I've never been let down here! read more

A terrific dinner was had by all and this is a great place for lunch too. Pre-dinner salads were perfect (arugula salad was outstanding); wide choice of cheese and salumeria boards; pizzas were upscale and perfect to share as starters. The big draw is the pasta - choice of dry as well as fresh egg or semolina. Bolognese sauce was spot on. Only less than wonderful dish was the profiteroles (they should have been much better) - but hey, after all that good food who needs dessert anyway. read more

This is our favorite Italian restaurant here in Florida. This is also hands-down the best pizza I've ever had in America. It is Romano style, so you have a thick crust, but not too much, perfectly cooked in a brick oven. The chef is from Venice.. I could talk about the pizza this whole review, if you thought mozzarella couldn't get better, will it does here for some reason this is the best. Great handmade crushed tomato sauce on there. But let's talk about the rest. The noodles are all made from scratch, as well as the sauces. And as well as you know what sets this place apart from other places, as you get to pick your noodle, and choose your sauce. That's rare. We all have our favorite noodle and our favorite sauce, and you never see a restaurant where you get to choose both of them on your own. You get about I wanna say 12 different noodles to choose from from dry pasta, to egg pasta, to stuffed pasta, and 12 different sauces. TIP: for wine lovers, true Italian wine lovers - they're list is magical. And very very well priced. They have some of the best whites and reds I've seen on an Italian list, and not a huge markup, at all. The Vermentino BTG is 100. But Amarone's for under $100, and Barolo's from 2015 for around $80 Our server Angel, definitely made our experience. He was filling waters whenever they were empty, had great knowledge on the wine, and knew what Sauces they could do without meat. He was honest . The Quattro formaggi is one of the best sauces if you like a white.. My boyfriend had the veal ravioli with that sauce and it was his favorite dish in his lifetime,. I had a vodka tomato cream sauce with crab, and linguine. It was unreal. The crab is so soft and tender at melted in my mouth. We shared the kale Cesar to start, which was probably my top two Caesar salad's in my lifetime (it's the only salad I eat and I've been in the restaurant industry for 15 years) . I don't know why they do to make it different, but it was....and it had a poached egg which was interesting. It was so good, that we went to another Italian restaurant, and ordered a pizza, and hated it because we couldn't stop thinking about grub Pinots Romano style pizza. So we went back, and this night it was Tuesday, and we got 2 for 1 pizzas. My bf got the same pasta, and I tried the pesto genevese, which was a nice herbal creamy pesto. We have dined in several large restaurants in Old Naples over the past few years, but Grappino was a wonderful surprise! The menu was focused on several dining options, but the variety was very Italian/French Farm to Table. I know it is an Italian restaurant, but the salami and cheese charcuterie boards were wonderful and reminded more of those of French countryside inns. All pastas are freshly created and the pizzas were splendid-looking and moved quickly out the door. I had a fresh grilled shrimp meal with crisp fresh green beans. The lobster risotto was light and fresh with chunks of fresh lobster meat. The recommended Pinot Grigio offset the flavors perfectly. Dessert was a fresh cheesecake topped off with a fresh Italian custard cannoli. . . not a NY style cheesecake but the kind my mother baked - sturdy with a fresh cheese flavor. The huge floor-to-ceiling windows and whimsical glass balloons suspended throughout the restaurant provided the perfect relief to a serious menu. We will definitely be back! read more

Friend introduced us to Grappino and now it's one of our fav spots in town. We've sat inside and outside, both are nice. (also and inside/outside small bar -- good happy hour too). Not super loud, cool-looking decor, attentive friendly service... AND, the food is absolutely outstanding!! I recommend the crispy eggplant tower for an app. For dinner, I love the trofie pasta w/bolognese -- so good it's a challenge for me to try something different. It's all good! We love eating there. The Alta Marea (which we always order) was painfully skimpy last night. It used to be chockfull of seafood. Now, not so much. At market price (anybody's guess), they could be putting more on it. Also, we won't be dining when they have "a rock band" playing super loud. It's not music to dine by, nor is it music to hear over. Next time we reserve we'll make sure it's not an every other Wednesday music night. Honestly, consistency is key. Neither the music "surprise" nor the Alta were something we expected...On a positive note, their lasagna is outstanding, the table bread is varied and delicious, and their tiramisu is unequalled anywhere in town. Their new bakery next door looks outstanding and we will be trying their Sunday Brunch. Their only problem architecturally is probably the architect who built the restaurant which was called Timeless, originally. The main restaurant's original inside area which is still there, is vacuous. So, we sit in the cozy bar (which is always full) The idea that a number of people dine as a threesome is awkward...that is, their beautiful and comfortable chairs were designed to fit only three around their cocktail sized tables, so, usually twosomes sit there with one empty chair. And there are only two tables with two chairs next to the wall. There are two high top six tops and maybe 5 seats at two bar areas...By the way, nice touch on the hooks for handbags under the bar for women sitting there. Oh, there's outside dining as well. Small, in the parking lot, but still ok. Back on the food...their pasta varieties and choose your own sauces are beautifully done. read more

The former Timeless location is delightfully unencumbered by the 5th Ave crowdedness and it has plenty of parking. We have been Naples seasonal visitors for almost 20 years. This new Italian spot was a breath of fresh air. We liked the unique menu choice structure of all the possible pasta and sauce combo choices. It's only been open a month. Service was friendly and on point. Food was timely and delicious. We tried a small margarita pizza as an appetizer. So good. Tons of cheese. Thin crisp crust. We did pasta with a pesto sauce combo as our entrees. Adding the parmesan they offered and a hint of salt made it absolutely pop. Very good. The dessert. Let me catch my breath. OMG. We split the amaretto cookie and Baileys tiramisu. It was unanimous: To. Die. For. Wow!! This is not the bland thing you have come to expect. Amazing. Me and wife had our date night at Grappino and we were not disappointed. Service was very good and friendly, our server (I forgot her name) was knowledgeable and guided us through the menu patiently. We decided on a charcuterie board as well as some bruschetta as appetizers. Both were very flavorful! You could tell that the bread of the Bruschetta was freshly made. As main course we enjoyed a regular Pizza with Prosciutto topped with rucola and their signature dish, a salt cured chicken. Both were very delicious! Our first time at Grappino and it was impressive. We didn't realize that this new spot in Naples had been open for about 14 months already. Truly a first class establishment from the owners of Dorona and Sea Salt among others. The menu is diverse with many choices of appetizers, charcuterie, pastas, sauces and Roman style pizza. It was hard to choose what to have for dinner but our excellent server Ciro provided great guidance and helped us weave through the interesting menu to make our choices. Short ribs over polenta, grilled snapper and the house special that evening of saffron risotto with shrimp all were marvelous. Homemade desserts of lemoncello cake and pistachio cheesecake helped round out a perfect evening at Grappino. We can't wait to return. read more

We stumbled upon this gem a few weeks ago. It's on 41 and within walking distance and 5the and 3rd Avenue in Naples! I always gravitate to a restaurant with great ambiance and atmosphere! I order a glass of a specific wine and it came in a little jar even if I asked to see the bottle so I don't know what wine I did drink. Found this restaurant on Yelp and was excited to be able to get a reservation on New Year's Eve. I checked out the website before visiting and the menu looked like it had lots of options to choose from with reasonable prices. There was no mention of a special NYE menu on their website. Surprised when we were handed menus with NYE special menu pages slipped on top of the regular menu which were just a limited selection of the regular menu but with prices increased significantly. This would have been ok if they said they there were having a special NYE menu. Pasta dish that was $18 on regular dinner menu was increased to $24, a 33% increase. Same increase for the beet salad. Service was a little shaky with waiter seemingly inexperienced. Lots of staff just hanging around with lots of empty tables. Waiter asked if we wanted bread and then never brought it. Food was good but not great. Way overpriced for what was offered. Finally the open kitchen showed that chefs wearing their faces masks below their noses. Hope I don't don't COVID. read more
