Excellent food, great service, and very affordable! Best chicken-fried steak and hash browns I've ever had. Highly recommend!

We stopped into Grandma's Corner and were immediately greeted with a warm, friendly smile and welcome. We were seated right away since it wasn't very busy, and coffee and water were brought out quickly. I did ask for cream with my coffee but was given milk instead. It came in a little soy sauce bottle, which was kind of genius and creative, but it still would have been nice to have real cream. Food & Drinks My husband and I split the special, which was a country fried steak scramble with home fries. It was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. The main thing we noticed was that everything tasted quite salty. Service Service was excellent. Our coffee and water never even got halfway empty before someone was there refilling them. Staff were friendly and attentive, and they checked on us often. Atmosphere The restaurant itself is a cute little hole-in-the-wall spot. It's located next to a cannabis shop and a liquor store, which wasn't a big deal. Inside, it has more of an older diner feel. The table setup was a little unusual. Our booth was made from two smaller tables pushed together, which felt a bit odd, but it worked. Pricing Prices were definitely fair and very reasonable for what you get. Would I Return? Maybe. If we came back, I would probably ask for low or no salt on the food. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it also didn't quite knock my socks off. I'd likely try a few other places in town first before returning.

Great food, great service, great prices! Ate here last year but apparently forgot to leave a review, but not this time. Right next to the road leading to Gearhart Golf Course. Had the "Light Eaters Special" (yeah if you are the Hulk). 1/2 order of corned beef hash, 2 eggs, and a half order of biscuits and gravy. A LOT of food for $12!

Stopped in here for a home cooked breakfast my husband got the egg and ham omelette it was packed for of ham and was good . I got the ham and eggs the ham was huge and great Smokey flavor I enjoyed it . There is a lighter menu which had half order I would do that next time . The portions were huge and was it was good. The decor is old pictures a few I remember seeing at friends house when I was growing up. The bathroom had these rag dolls my mom Used to make . If you're looking for a little town old fashion small restaurant. This is it . The service was great and friendly. I won't pop in here again . You will not be hungry after you leave I promise:)

Well this absolutely was our favorite place and I hate writing negative reviews but the last two times we have been here it has been very different. Food was ok and cold and service was ok at best. We will be taking grandmas corner off our list of favorites for when we go to the beach sadly

A hole in the wall off the road. Food was AMAZING and ginormous portions. The best part was the service by the nicest, kindest grandmas. If you're passing by seaside or going there, definitely stop by for breakfast.

Found this spot on Yelp. Very happy we chose it! Home style cooking, plenty of choices. And they serve both breakfast and lunch all day. Great friendly service.

It was basic food similar to Denny's but prices were 50% higher in comparison. It wasn't bad but not good either. Staff was nice though.

Located near the end of a strip mall on Broadway on the Southeast side of the river, this tiny cafe and bakery serves up love and smiles. We were traveling with our two adult children who are on the autism spectrum. Our oldest is gluten free and our youngest, well he identifies as a bull moose and can be about as easy to wrangle. There were plenty of gluten free options for our oldest. Our server Zoe rocking the Wonder Woman tank was a super hero! The owner quickly tuned in to our family being on team quirky and made us feel welcome and at home. Everyone was so friendly! The food? Exceptional! This was our third breakfast out on our trip and the Chalkboard Cafe took the blue ribbon and it was not even close! My youngest had the biscuits and gravy, with a couple of eggs and a sausage patty. He's a charter member of the clean plate club and met the challenge. It was a generous portion. Our oldest had a half order of the B&G and was tempted to have one of the hot from the oven gluten free mini Marion berry pies that the owner proudly paraded around the dining room. Steaming from the oven this Marion berry pie tasted like the best of an Oregon summer. I was glad he shared a couple of bites. It was such a delight that we took a pie home for later! My wife and I shared the traditional eggs Benedict. The eggs were perfectly poached, and topped with a thick piece of ham grounded with their perfect English muffin. The Hollandaise was rich and creamy providing a wonderful coat on top of the egg. Their red potatoes were seasoned just right and were a compliment to the eggs Benedict as they would compliment most any savory breakfast. In addition to the pie we took home a couple their chocolate krinkle cookies which were not gluten free. That's the bad news. The good news is that we did not have to share them! They were heavenly! We get to Seaside at least once or twice a year and the Chalkboard Cafe will be part of our regular dining rotation while visiting. Thanks for the love and excellence! Great job and we are looking forward to our next visit!

But I didn't care too much for the flavor. Genuinely not good. And the cream cheese it came with, zero flavor, which was easily remedied by adding my own salt. The ambience and decor was quaintly charming, at first. But the more I looked the more understood that everything was creepy. Like witchcraft creepy.

Every time my wife and I make the trip from Seattle to Seaside, this restaurant is a must-stop. The customer service is generally friendly, and the staff works hard even when the restaurant is busy. However, service could be more attentive during peak times. We had to ask for coffee refills instead of it being offered proactively, and better follow-through on small details like that would improve the experience. We really wish they would open a location closer to the Federal Way or Tukwila area because we'd be regular customers. We absolutely love this place and always look forward to eating here. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is because we were told the wait would be about 10 minutes, but it ended up being closer to 35 to 40 minutes. To make matters more frustrating, several groups that arrived after us were seated before we were, and no one came over to update us about the delay. On top of that, the restroom situation felt very limited for the volume of guests, with only one toilet available for what seemed like hundreds of diners, which made things inconvenient during busy times. Prices have also gone up noticeably, which makes the overall value feel a bit less balanced than it used to. Better communication, improved seating order consistency, and more adequate facilities would make the experience even better.

Three of us enjoyed our food, all items were hot, well seasoned, and overall solid flavor. Side note, I appreciate their clam chowder didn't have bacon. I don't know why this place has such a low rating, if it's because of slow service, we gotta realize staffing is tough all over the coast. Would come back again, regardless of the day and time.

They have a private parking lot available, plus street parking for overflow. We were greeted and seated upon entering the restaurant. The decor is typical for McMenamins locations...lots of wood, old antique light fixtures, etc. It's a warm and cozy vibe. The menu is similar to their other restaurants with a few seafood items added. We decided on the steak and mushroom bites, jojos, a cup of chowder, and the fish and chips. We enjoyed everything except the clam chowder. It was super runny and had large chunks of white onions. The onions weren't cooked long enough, in my opinion. They were still crunchy and the flavor overpowered the soup. I didn't get any seafood flavor from the clams. I definitely wouldn't order that again. I was glad I only ordered a cup. For dessert we ordered the peanut butter pie. My oh my, was it delicious! It was the star of our entire meal. I hope they never remove this from their menu! Overall a nice dinner with friendly and helpful staff. We would recommend when staying at the hotel.
