I am such a fan of this place. I came for the PACCHERI GENOVESE and it truly did not disappoint. I actually had to come back a month later to have it again. Parking is valet only which is a pain but all good. Service is always great here as well as Sara at the bar. This was my second time at Grana. I do like their pizza! We went for their Appertivo hour (happy hour) which has a few of their pizzas in smaller than usual size for cheaper (12$) and selected appetizers for 10$. Our favorite was the veal meatballs and ricotta and preaches appetizers. The place is great and the food amazing for the Value u get. I would Recommend trying the spot for a good alternative to the already amazing selection in Atl. This was a really great find. My co-worker and I were looking for Italian for dinner. We were not disappointed. The ambiance of the place is really nice. Tables encourage group meals, but there are still enough tables for small groups or couples. It was a little loud and bustling, even for a Tuesday evening, but to me that's what food should be about -- people enjoying their food in company with others, having fun! For starters we had the garlic bread. Normally I expect garlic bread to be some garlicky cheese on a baguette or other loaf bread, with there being way more bread than cheese or garlic. This one was completely different. It came out as a pizza of sorts, with all the cheese and garlic spread out on a super-thin crust. THIS is what garlic bread should be! Too much bread has always been why I have avoided garlic bread, but this preparation made it so good! There was lots of garlic, which I love, and plenty of cheese. Loved it! They did tell us that many of the items on the menu were for sharing, and my dining partner found that out with the chicken parmigiana. It was the whole breast of the chicken served with an interesting side: crispy potatoes. Sort of like the kind you get at a diner for breakfast. But they were a great companion to the chicken. I got the cavatelli. I will mention that I wanted the gnocchi, but I wanted the bolognese sauce. I was told that because the gnocchi were a cheese gnocchi and not a potato dumpling that they didn't go well well with the bolognese. Wasn't sure exactly why, and I was a little disappointed, but ok. I had the cavatelli with the bolognese, and it was still great. It was slightly underseasoned for my taste, so I did have to add a little salt. All good. Service was great. Our server, Rodrigo, was just perfect -- always available but never imposing. I would highly recommend this place. It is classic but not pretentious in any way. Grana is a must eat modern, luxe Italian restaurant in Buckhead that you definitely should add to your list of restaurant. They offer a variety of dishes and great drinks, however there are a few must try's I highly recommend. The meatball appetizer is super good and allows you to sample all of the meatballs on the menu! Each one has a unique taste and flavor and are very delicious. The pasta dish with short rib was amazing as well! Could've used a little more sauce, however, super good and tender. They have many different pizzas to choose from. I had the Roni which is a traditional pepperoni pizza with a twist of chili honey. I added bacon and that topped it off well! Their drinks are great and they have an amazing rooftop to hangout at and take in the city. Highly recommend Grana! We came at a fairly quiet time during the week. From the outside it looks a little fancy and inside it is pretty relaxed. This place is mostly a nice pizzeria so we went for some garlic bread and Cesar salad instead. The garlic bread was more like a white pizza which gave us a sample of what the pizza might be like. We loved the mozzarella on top and the dough had a nice fluffiness to it. The Cesar salad was decent and enough for two small side salads. One of my friends recommended going to Grana for Italian food. The quality of the food here is amazing. This is one of the best Margarita pizzas I had. I wasn't a huge fan of the potato gnocchi - I feel as if it's a taste you have to like or if you're a huge fan of gnocchi maybe you will enjoy it. We wanted to try a lot of different things so we were able to do family style, starting either the meatball flight and then we went with three pizzas and two pastas. The meatballs were amazing. Def get the flight. The pastas were also awesome- the paccheri genovese was amazing and we all really enjoyed the rigatoni as well. For the pizzas- you really can't go wrong. We got the Roni, the drunken uncle, and fibonacci. I think the roni was the favorite although all were awesome. For dessert, we did the build your own cannoli and got a tiramisu. We went for a weekend lunch, so they had a brunch menu, which is somewhat different than the dinner menu. Rooftop was nice! There are fans, too, so that helped with the humidity. Short Rib Sandwich- This was really good and unique. Don't think I've had a sandwich like this elsewhere. Wasn't a fan of the potatoes though as they were kinda crumbly and hard to eat. I've been wanting to come here for a long time and finally got a chance to. Made reservations through OpenTable and patiently waited for my turn to try this place out. Finally the day came and I did a bit of searching on Yelp to figure out the parking situation so I'd be prepared and luckily they do offer valet service in the lot next to their building (the valet worked off tips) but you can also opt to park in the lot where the Sprouts is a short walk down the street. The hostess was sweet and welcomed us once we arrived. She quickly took us to our seats and I was immediately drawn to the lively ambiance and loved the look and feel of the restaurant. Our waitress came shortly after we got settled and was just the sweetest. We started with the crispy potatoes and while they were good, I was lookin for a little more flavor outside of the sea salt, Parmesan, and aioli. The portion was quite generous so ended up taking some home but it was great starter. Both my friend and I opted for the rigatoni and it was absolutely delicious! It just tasted so fresh and homemade and full of flavor and sausage. Just an overal great dish and while I really wanted to finish, I decided to take some home. We were seated right away on the main floor (there is an upstairs) after valeting. The decor is nice and I loved the high ceiling and overall ambiance. We started with the meatball flight, which was 6 meatballs. None were that spectacular even they claim they have the "best balls" in Atlanta. Ha! The entrees are shareable so we got three pastas, the squid ink, the rigatoni, and the cappelletti. The squid ink needed more flavor as it was a bit bland. I've had Grana bookmarked for quite some time now. I was happy when I found a friend that likes pizza and wanted to check it out with me. We both already knew what we wanted to try which was the potato pizza and the Fibonacci pizza. Both pizzas came out to the table rather quickly and actually surprised us. The pizzas also weren't piping hot which could mean they weren't freshly made. Nevertheless it didn't affect the taste which is the most important part. I really enjoyed all of the flavors of the potato pizza the truffle honey drizzle really pulled all the flavors together. Two words to kick things off about Grana...Meatball Flight. Yeah, apparently those are a thing and after experiencing my first one here recently, I feel more places should offer them! Grana is located on Piedmont Avenue near the Cheshire intersection and sits at the base of a mixed use development that features apartments and a few other shops. Given it's location parking is simple. There is a dedicated garage, but they offer complimentary valet, so just do that! From the exterior Grana does not look like that large of a place, however they used the space inside absolutely perfectly! In it's entirety the interior is made up a nice sized bar that seats around 12 folks, a large dining room that is separated by a large windowed partition, an open-air kitchen where you can see your pizzas and cannoli's being made and there is even a second level dining space. All the spaces flow so well and while it may seem like a lot shoved into this building, the layout works so well and the décor makes every section seamlessly blend in with the next. While there is a lot to look at, we did find ourselves ogling the light fixtures they had around the restaurant, especially the large iron one over the first few tables. We arrived around 6:15 PM on a Friday and were able to be sat fairly quickly. However if we would have waited just 15 more minutes, we would have had to wait. I recommend using the reservation tool on their website if you are planning on coming on those peak Atlanta nights! As a table we basically sampled the menu as not one of us 6 got the same appetizers or dinners. For the appetizers you MUST get the meatball flight. This was a platter of (6) meatballs of all varieties from standard beef to veal to a fried pork meatball. They are all topped with their own special sauce and they are all delicious! However, I will say that the fried pork was the winner for me! We also scooped up the green beans and Caprese, both of which were perfect in their own rights. For dinners we got a mixture of pizzas and pastas, and even a salad. The most popular pizza and the one that I personally got was the Roni. It was a basic pepperoni pizza that was elevated with the addition of the Calabrian chili honey! The Fibonacci was also an absolute delight as it featured bacon, mozzarella, garlic and hot peppers. One thing great about this variety of pizza is that they don't drown it with sauce or cheese. They let the toppings speak for themselves and allow them to highlighted appropriately! My only dig at the pizza is that they were a tad bit greasy, so the topping would slide from slice to slice. For dessert you can build your own cannoli's. So, of course we did that! You can choose from standard shell or chocolate dipped followed by choice of sheep's milk or cow's milk as the filling then you get to top it with whatever your heart desires from chocolate chips to pistachios to candied oranges! Service was great from entry to exit. The hostess was friendly, welcoming and helpful, and this continued with our server. She was fantastic! Overall, Grana is a highlight on the Atlanta scene for Italian. With a great location, friendly service and delicious food you would be hard pressed to not want to visit as much as possible! We currently have a date night booked, so get those meatballs ready Grana...we will see you again soon! read more

Was in the city for the day and a group of my friends and I decided to try out Grana! I'm always a bit hesitant on authentic Italian restaurants due to a couple bad experiences I've had with portion sizes, menu variety, and other stuff at other locations, however Grana was great! I ordered the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer to split with my one other friend. This was definitely a large portion and I honestly feel like it could be split with maybe 3-4 people. I'm not the biggest fan of Brussels sprouts, but these were great! The sweet glaze on the Brussels sprouts definitely helped counteract its usual bitter aftertaste. I loved how it was a combo of sweet and savory. I ordered the Cavatelli after our waitress described it to us as a "deconstructed lasagna" which is definitely the flavor I got from it. It was a very good portion, and the pasta was dense (in a good way) so it was definitely filling. I ended up having to take a to go box. Overall, I'd give this place a 4/5! Absolutely delicious! My friend and I went out to eat here as we were craving pasta and Grana 100% satisfied those cravings. We started out with wine and a meatball flight but we're quickly back to the menu to order garlic bread and each of our entrees. I ordered the Rigatoni while my friend ordered the Mafalde. Everything we ordered was completely cleared, and we didn't think we were that hungry! Our total bill was $130 including a 20% tip and the bartender was amazing! This place came highly recommended by friends and a few of us came here for dinner on a Wednesday. There's valet parking and you can also park at Sprouts and walk down. There were also plenty of street parking when I got here. There's aperitivo got from 3-6pm with drinks and food specials. Been dying to try Grana for a while, so I'm glad we could finally get to go! First of all, our server Rochelle was awesome-- super knowledgeable and accommodating of our guests' dietary restrictions. The atmosphere and great service is reason to go back alone. I ordered a pasta dish (Cavatelli), which granted, was probably not the most special pasta that they make, but I would say it was solid. I think those who ordered the Pep pizza, margarita, and a margarita with prosciutto had a similar consensus. I would love to come back for Apero or for a sampling of the meatballs. After seeing so many influencers promoting Grana on Instagram, I figured I should do my due diligence and check it out, too. We stopped in August 2020, when restaurants were finally reopening for indoor dine-in. We were hoping to check out the rooftop so we could still dine outdoors, but the rooftop was PACKED, while we would literally be the only table dining indoors. Who would have thunk on a weeknight... We started out with some cocktails - I ordered the Ghiaccio based on my usual gin cocktail order, as well as recommendation of the server that it wouldn't be too sweet or too dry. Food wise, we started with the infamous meatball flight. While it's definitely fun trying all the different combinations of meats and sauces, they got a little heavy, and it got hard to differentiate the different flavors after a few bites. However, I feel like it's definitely a must order to share among a few people. We also split a couple dishes family style: the Nostra Cosa Pizza and the Mafalde Alla Gricia. The Nosta Cosa was WAY too salty, thanks to all the different meats on top. In particular, I'm assuming the smoked meats like the coppa and soppressata leaked salt into the rest of the pizza. I love my smoked meats but it was a bit much on a pizza. I loved the mafalde alla gricia - it was essentially a cacio e pepe, basically an adult Mac and cheese. super cheesy and I couldn't stop eating it. Definitely recommend (if it's still on the pasta menu). I wouldn't mind coming back to try some other dishes, even if some of the orders were hit or miss. Recently, we went to Grana for brunch and it was absolutely amazing!!! We tried some new brunch items as well as some classic Grana specialties. Our favorite brunch item had to be the Crostini (with whipped ricotta, truffle honey, sesame seeds), but the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich (with a whole burrata ball might I add!!!!) came in for a close second. We had to get our classic favorites, the Roni pizza and the Meatball Tasting, of course. We tried quite a few drinks, as well. All of them were very delicious, but surprisingly, our favorite was a chai latte martini that our server suggested. Our service was also amazing! From the hosts to our server, everyone was friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go back to Grana again. My friend and I eat these everywhere we go and these were at the very top of the list of the best we've had . The crispy potatoes are oh so good as well. One of us got the sexy Dexy pizza and share the cappelletti pasta. Both were really good. The pizza is a favorite of several at the table. One couple share the meatball flight and they said they were all great and I might add. They are very cute sitting in the flight bowl. We also had a couple of the drinks one of them the spritzer. It was pretty good if you like kind of the seltzer type of drink, I had a blood orange drink that was something 76 sorry I just don't remember what was before that but it was very good and I would recommend it. It also comes in a lemon and another flavor as well. It was recommended by my server. We finished off all sharing a create your own cannoli with the cows milk. it was very crispy and creamy on the inside. Well made. The ambience here is very nice. We were greeted with a smile and seated immediately. We did make reservations being we had a party of six. We did have an oversize truck so we parked in a PayByPhone garage right there because the valet was afraid that our vehicle would not fit and their area. I like the bathroom set up, they have four or five private bathrooms that are quite large with sinks and enough room to go in with children if you need to. Things are made fresh, and they are brought out as they are prepared and become ready. The food was fine but as stated by the waiter, restaurant policy is to deliver the food as it is prepared. This meant all the food: antipasti, primi, second arrived simultaneously, which resulted in dining on cold eggplant Parmigiano after eating our appetizer and salads. Grana is generally a popular place so I would recommend calling ahead at least a day in advance to make a reservation. Or you can try you luck on the roof, which is first come first serve. We started with the meatball flight, which contains every meatball on the menu. We thought it was an amazing way to get a taste of everything, ranging from different meats, toppings, and sauces. We then ordered their Fibonacci pizza, which is a great option for spice lovers. The pizza flavoring was amazing thanks to the peppers, and the crust was perfectly crisp. The only problem was the pizza was a little soggy so it fell apart easily, but it was still a solid 4/5. For dessert, we had their make your own cannolis, which was such a cool idea! They have a couple of options for the type of cannoli, the cream flavor, and toppings, and I thought it was a fun and creative way to do a dessert menu. Came here on a Friday night and had a reservation. It wasn't too busy. They have free valet parking which is kind of needed in this area. The location is a bit difficult because of how awful that road is. They say that it is a family style restaurant and orders just come out at different times. We started with the fig pizza (not entirely sure what it was called) and it tasted like a warm charcuterie board. It was pretty good. We also got the pasta with the sauce made of meat.
