Been here a few times and have enjoyed it each time! The Diavolo pizza pizza is very good, and so is the sausage and pepper pizza. I think they may rotate the pizza offerings seasonally, but either way - highly recommend! They use a honey glaze that is a sweet note in addition to the savory toppings and is great on the crust when you get to the end of your slice. The Caesar salad is a solid salad. No complaints but if a heavily black peppered salad isn't your jam, you may need to mention that to your server when you order. The Paccheri Alla Vodka pasta dish was my main entree and I really enjoyed it. I usually enjoy a red sauce but I wanted some seafood with my pasta and this hit the spot. The shrimp that come with it are not overcooked and there's a generous portion of it too. It's in the same plaza as the Trader Joe's, along with lots of other businesses, but parking isn't an issue. Our server was only there to take orders and disappeared after bringing out our appetizers and mains. The food was average - the appetizers did not have much flavor, and the main dishes flavors were not great. I was very excited about this after seeing all the great reviews and social media posts about it but it fell short of my expectations. The service was slow, we did order everything all at once pretty shortly after we got the server. However, we waited almost 90 minutes for our food! We ordered it at about 6:45 after being sat at 6:25. And we got the food at 8pm!!!!! We were so hungry we were literally full by 8:15. This was terrible. We had to ask someone to get our server and ask where our food was because during the whole wait the server never came back once! I suspect they gave our food to the wrong table because the tables next to us who came later were served long before we were and was already out the door by the time we even got any food. This was crazy! It was a Tuesday night and not very busy. We had to ask our server and she said it's coming the kitchen was hectic and busy. NO IT WAS NOT! All the tables around us had no issues getting their food. We got the carbonara pasta, diavolo pizza and some fries. Nothing that was worth waiting 90 minutes for. I had been wanting to try this place for quite some time, so when my sister's birthday was coming up, I knew this place would be perfect for the occasion. I made a reservation in advance, because it was a Friday night, and good thing I did, because it was PACKED when I got there. I arrived with a cake, and they happily took it and stored in their fridge in the back. There were 5 of us for dinner. We got a bottle of red to share and I also got a Peroni. The server wasn't too knowledgeable about the wines, but we collectively made a decision on the bottle to get. We all shared the cheesy garlic bread and broccolini to start. The bread was soooo good. It pulled apart so nicely and was hot and fresh. The broccolini was good too, seasoned perfectly! We all loved the two dishes. For our mains, we all got our own dish. I got the Paccheri Alla Zozzona. I'm a sucker for a pasta and sausage dish, so I had to get this. It was really good. Cooked nice and the pasta around the meat had a very nice bite. The others got the Buratta Pizza, Chicken Scallopini Parmigiano, Ricotta Ravioli, and Halibut Picatta. I had a bite of everything, and honestly, everything was INCREDIBLE. All the dishes were so flavorful and hot! Each dish was captured so well with taste and design. None of us had leftovers to take home at all. We ate everything. The ambiance inside was pretty nice. It felt kinda like a rustic meets traditional theme. The service was a little slow, which is why this isn't getting a full 5 stars. Good experience at Pendolino. We went for a drink and a snack with some friends. The service and ambience was great! My first drink was a Negroni, I liked it however I wish it was over one big ice cube rather multiple and it was a little sweet for my likings. We all split a bottle of Sangiovese after our first round of drinks. My fiancé and I split a fennel sausage pizza for our snack and that was the highlight of our visit! Super shocked to see negative reviews. We had a party of 14...they had our table ready for our 8 pm reservation. The service was swift and friendly. The cocktails were delicious. The wine list was good and it was a nice pour. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food, and the few who got dessert enjoyed that. Came for dinner with friends on a Friday evening. It was busy! We had a reservation, fortunately, and were seated quickly. The menu is not huge but everything on it looked great. There were appetizers, salads and small plates, pizzas, and regular Italian dishes. The back side listed cocktails and other drinks, plus there was a separate wine list. I ordered the Sicilian lemonade. It was pleasantly lemony and served in a tall glass with a paper straw. Two friends ordered the garlic bread and the focaccia so I was able to taste both. The focaccia was served with a delicious cheese spread and was fantastic. The garlic bread was also very good and had bits of fresh garlic on it. I ordered the burrata pizza and it was small, maybe only 8 inches in diameter, cut into fourths. That was actually a good size for a personal pizza. The crust was chewy and nice. The toppings fresh and even, although the cheese was in four or so lumps and tended to fall off when I picked up the slice. For dessert I had the pistachio gelato which was creamy and cold. My companions enjoyed the shrimp scampi, tiramisu, and espresso martini. Service was great. My one complaint is that the restaurant was very loud and I had difficulty hearing the server, not to mention my friends. We were attended to regularly and the food was delivered in a reasonable time. There is plenty of parking in the shared lot although it was pretty full I had no problem finding a place. TLDR; My wife and I visited Pendolino for a date night one Friday evening. We made reservations for two on OpenTable and enjoyed our dinner on the patio. The food was impeccable, and the service was great. Our favorites were the Buratta pizza, crispy calamari, Bistecca Sirloin, and Shrimp Alla Vodka. Pendolino is located in Sandy Springs, just outside the North Buckhead/Chastain Park area. Since the restaurant recently opened in our neighborhood, we were excited to give it a try. After all, who can resist a new Italian spot? I had requested a booth, but the restaurant was quite busy, and they couldn't accommodate the request. After speaking with the host, we opted to sit outside--a decision we didn't regret! Admittedly, the night got off to a bumpy start. We waited over 15 minutes, watching tables seated after us get served, before we decided to leave. However, the restaurant manager, Samantha, called us as we were leaving and asked us to return, assuring us they would make it right. So, we gave it another shot. I'm glad we did. The food exceeded my expectations, which admittedly weren't high after the initial hiccup. But this review reflects the second chance we gave them, rough start aside. We began with the crispy calamari and Buratta pizzette. The calamari was fresh and perfectly crispy, served over a lemon aioli with marinara on the side. The Buratta pizza was everything you'd want from a wood-fired pizza--crispy on the outside, soft and buttery on the inside. The dough was perfect, and the sauce-to-cheese ratio was spot on. I'd order both dishes again without hesitation. The Buratta is a type of cheese that reminds me of a ricotta, with its firm outer shell and a soft, creamy interior. For a cocktail, I had the Sonny Boy--a tequila lover's dream! It was like the perfect margarita: refreshing, balanced with citrus and sweetness, and strong enough to satisfy. If you love tequila, don't skip this one! For our mains, my wife had the Shrimp Alla Vodka, and I opted for the Bistecca Sirloin. Naturally, I couldn't resist a bite of her dish! The paccheri pasta in the Shrimp Alla Vodka was al dente, with a subtle spicy kick that balanced out the creamy, rich sauce. My sirloin was cooked medium and came pre-cut. It was tender and juicy, topped with a beautiful Gorgonzola butter to complement it. It came with some potato fingerlings and that would give a steak frites a run for its money. Overall, I highly recommend Pendolino. It's a lovely new addition to the Chastain Park area, and we're lucky to have it nearby. Be sure to order the pizzette, calamari, and Sonny Boy--you won't be disappointed! read more

Really great pasta! This is probably one of my new go-to Italian restaurants in Atlanta! We started out with the Eggplant Marinara. The mint in the pesto was a creative touch. I enjoyed the actual eggplant; however, the focaccia it came with was dry. They had toasted it, so it was rather crisp which some people may like, but it lost all moisture. I wouldn't order this again. The focaccia was truly a disappointment. Bread is a basic all good restaurants should do well. The cheesy garlic bread was amazing though! It reminds me of a white pizza (honestly not that garlicky but very cheesy and tasty nonetheless). For mains we ordered the ravioli, spaghetti and meatballs, scallops, and the vodka pasta with shrimp. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the sauce wasn't too heavy. I love the vodka sauce pasta! The pasta in general is fresh and nicely al dente! The vodka sauce was incredible, but there was so little of it. You really have to scrape the bottom of the plate to get any of the sauce. I loved the addition of fresh garlic too (a bit too heavy on the parsley for my taste though). The ravioli was solid. I liked the addition of the roasted peppers. The spaghetti was also great! The noodles are delightfully chewy and the sauce was amazing! Enjoyed a lovely dinner on the patio at Pendolino. Pendolino is a new Italian restaurant next to Chastain Park. It is located in the same plaza as Snooze, Taka, and soon to be TJs! We enjoyed everything we had - the crudo, octopus, and pizza as well as the shrimp and braised pork pasta. Everything was delicious. I'm not sure there's anything unique on the menu or that one must go here and order, but everything is done well. Perfect for good quality food in a neighborhood. Service was great as well. I have eaten here numerous times, though not in the past 6 months because I thought the menu was average and the prices too high for a strip mall restaurant. I decided to try it again and brought my friend from out of town to eat for dinner. I have never been so embarrassed. We arrived on a Thursday night at 8pm and ordered cocktails and appetizers. The martini was decent as was the calamari and meatballs. Then I spotted a German cockroach on the wooden partition between the booths. I grabbed my napkin and captured it. When the busboy came to get our plates I handed the napkin to him and told him what was in it. No reaction from him or anyone else on staff. Then we were told it was last call for drinks... at 8:45.Then we were rushed through our service. As we were signing our check the lights were raised all the way.... we were not the last table In the restaurant and it was 9:45. As I was walking out I told our server about the cochroach and not appreciating the lights being raised. She said nothing. As I was waiting for our Uber to arrive outside, our server and another server walked out, got into their BMW that was parked in the first spot in front of the restaurant and drive off... I will NEVER eat here again and will tell everyone I know about my experience. I live in the neighborhood and I was a hostess and server in my youth. I respect restaurant workers. I was a little frustrated with the server as we ordered the pizzette & the garlic bread and they're basically the same thing except one has no pizza sauce. I feel that server should have explained this and steered us in a different direction. Moving on to the rest of the order, we had the burrata and it is unique in that they use peaches so it was tasty and different. We also tried the shrimp allá vodka pasta, it was good but i wish it had had more heat. The restaurant itself is quite large and decorated nicely. I didn't think the hostess was very nice. Sometime shortly after dinner, around 7:30 the Manager (Kevin?) approached our table and said that they'd like to turn the table and could we wrap up? We had planned on having coffee and possibly dessert, although they didn't offer that. We were so offended that a few minutes later I got up and had a chat with the manager. I told him that I've been eating at nice restaurants for decades and this is the first time that anyone has tried to kick me out. He sort of apologized and said that they were very busy because of a concert at Chastain. I expressed my dissatisfaction and let it be. Primary concern was what seemed to be a roach infestation issue. Throughout our dinner, we noticed numerous roaches crawling around and on the tables and chairs. When we reported it to management, the response was dismissive and nonchalant, which was frankly impolite and problematic. Otherwise, the wine selection was enjoyable, as were the appetizers. My Oh My what a wonderful restaurant ! Sandy Springs has needed a place like this for a long time and it is not to be missed . From the welcome at the door to the service from Michael to the visit at the table from the owner (I gather an alum of Ford Fry ! ) the service was over the top . The restaurant design is sensational with different seating areas to meet your every need . sit and eat at the bar , sit in the sumptuous booths or grab an app and glass of wine casually at 5pm in the wide seats .. But in the we go back "if the food is good" and this food is fabulous and creative with superb taste . Unfortunately Pendolino did not hit the mark for me. I was rooting for this neighbor hood restaurant and was excited to give it a try. We ordered the Caesar salad , which was great and the manhattan cocktail too. However the halibut was bland and overcooked which left a very unpleasant taste.
