Deep dish pizza crusts are typically dry. It might be a tad shallow for a deep dish pizza. Pepperoni pinwheels: Excellent! These are wheels of dough wrapped around pepperoni and cheese. Dip them in the provided pizza sauce and they're delightful. Cinnamon sugar balls: I don't recommend these. There wasn't enough cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on them. They were kind of plain. Having heard that this location changed hands from Gramboli's Pizza to Graham's Pizza, I decided to stop by today and try things out. As I understand it, Graham's Pizza is under new ownership but remains "in the family." You can still see signs of the Gramboli's connection through some interior decor that remains on the walls. However, it would also seem that the interior has been spruced up a bit with some color changes, cleaning, modest layout changes, and some televisions on the wall to give the restaurant a more relaxed feeling. As I noted in my previous review, there's a curb cut about half the way down in this strip center. However, the curb was modest enough that I was easily able to jump it. There's a 2-sided glass doorway entry. As you enter, there's a pick-up window to the left and a dining room to the right with a back dining room further back. There's an area for a buffet, though I saw no indication they actually have a buffet. It's worth noting that the menu has been pared down quite a bit. Gramboli's, at least at this location, had a fairly broad menu while Graham's Pizza primarily sticks to the Italian theme with pizza, subs, calzones, pastas, and some salad options. I do appreciate that they offer a small pizza option that worked out well for a single diner. They do also serve beer and wine and they do have some local brews available. They have a chalkboard up in the restaurant that lists their available beers. Things were a little confusing at first. There's still a sign on the wall that says "Please wait to be seated" and it also instructs to wear masks. However, after a few minutes it was clear that it was a seat yourself arrangement. The mask mandate appeared to simply be an out of date sign still on the wall. My server was perfectly friendly once I did get to a table. The layout is pretty good for wheelchairs. Chairs can be moved from tables, though they are somewhat heavy. I ended up going a bit hog wild today by ordering an appetizer (Okay. Okay. That's not really hog wild. It is for me.). I ordered an order of six breadsticks with cheese sauce - they have other types of sauces, though they are $.50. I will confess I prefer marinara sauce, but opted to not purchase it. I also ordered a small pepperoni thin-crust pizza. They also have what they call "Indiana-style deep dish" and also hand-tossed. Of course, I also ordered my usual unsweetened iced tea. My bill came in at about $16+ without tip. That's more than I usually spend for a late lunch, but it'll be my only meal for the day. I was very pleased that the breadsticks came out warm and toasty. They didn't have a strong flavor to them, however, the warmth still made them quite good. They weren't quite as solid once they cooled off. I really enjoyed the pizza. The pepperoni distribution was solid and the crust quite nice for a thin-and-crispy pizza. I was able to eat the whole thing - I have a feeling this says more about me than the pizza. I did get my always desired refill and actually got offered another one for the road (which I declined). I really enjoyed this meal. The service was friendly. The atmosphere is welcoming. The food was good and the prices are fair. Graham's has retained everything we loved about Gramboli's while also making some improvements. Graham's also offers a rewards club available by offering an e-mail. They link it to your credit card and you get $3 off for every $50 spent. Lived in the area for almost three years and finally gave them a try. We ordered the 12" meatza deep dish and it did not disappoint! Even though it was a deep dish it was a little shallow but it was good enough for the two of us with plenty of ingredients and crust was excellent!! We ordered take out and didn't realize there was dining inside where it was very quiet. We will definitely have to come back to dine inside with the family. read more

So this is about Grahams on Pendleton Pike. So before I tell you about my fav pizza place let me talk about something that seems missing from so many restaurants. The place is a family owned business and from what I can tell this makes a difference. It makes a difference in the quality of service. And it makes a difference to me as a customer when people go out of their way to be friendly and welcoming. My wife and I have always felt like family when we go to this place. And that alone might be enough to keep me coming back. But what about the food? What we order when we want pizza is a side order....of bread sticks. I am not one who has ever had luck making bread. But someone in this family figured it out. The breadsticks alone are so worthy of a visit - or revisit. I love these breadsticks...and I can honestly say - they are the best you can get. I challenge any pizza place in Indy to invite me to try their offering. I am confident - it will fall short. Don't skip this important start to your dinner order. PIzza? Close by - Dominos...Papa Johns...Little Caesars....? How many times are you going to be willing to try something that is at best...so so. Personally we order a medium deep dish grahams special. That means you get lots of ingredients, a killer crust, and lots of gooey melted cheese. And they have a sauce in the middle that doesn't disappoint. Granted - not everytime do I have the hunger to put away a deep dish. So we choose the regular crust Grahams special. Never disappointed...it's just a killer pizza. I will come back and add pics on my next date night. But here is a thought to consider. When I have ordered in the past from Papa Johns...I have noted it being 30 bucks or more. You hear about specials and the like...think you are gonna get a good deal - but all I ever get is a mediocre pizza...almost cool to the touch and over 30 bucks. When I eat at Grahams - I get a hot pizza...2 drinks, breadsticks and a deep dish pizza for around 30 bucks. Price makes a difference to me. But price and quality makes an even bigger difference. Going out to eat is a disappointment. We went to Grahams Pizza in Oaklandon Thursday night. We stood at the "Please Wait to Be Seated" sign for 5 minutes then waved at the people in the kitchen. We stood another 5 minutes before finally deciding to take a seat. We continued to sit for another 10 minutes observing that anyone picking up Carry Out orders being served right away. I chose to go to the front register and ask if anyone was working the dining area. We waited another 5 minutes. My husband went up to flag down someone again. Very disappointing! I live two minutes from Gramboli's and it is a frequently visited restaurant by our family. I was first introduced to Gramboli's by a co-worker who treated me to lunch. We had the lunch buffet. The lunch buffet comes with a variety of pizzas such as all meat, Hawaiian, cheese, and vegetable. I don't think I've ever seen any white sauce pizzas on the buffet but I'm sure you could request it. The buffet also comes with bread sticks and sauce, cinnamon sticks, and pasta. My kids love the pasta! You'll definitely leave with a full belly and satisfied. The buffet is only during lunch hours so get there early if you are choosing the buffet as an option. On my most recent visit, I decided to do a carry out. I was craving a deep dish. My husband and I will drop everything for a Chicago trip just for the pizza so I'm a tough deep dish critic. The deep dish at Gramboli's is good, but if you are used to Chicago style, you'll find that this one doesn't have as much sauce and toppings. Overall, I'd go to Gramboli's for the buffet because it's good pizza for a great lunch deal. I'll still keep my Chicago trips for the deep dish! read more

Wanted to try a local pizza place that I hadn't had before that had good reviews. Grahams pizza is located on Pendleton pike, has ample parking, and it is easy to get to. We ordered pickup, and it was ready right on time! We got a pepperoni, banana pepper pizza and an order of breadsticks. The food was good, and we will likely order it again! The service was excellent, and the food was ready right when they said it would be. It was a little greasy for my taste, but my SO thought it was fine. The inside has a cute, old diner feel to it. I think next time we will try eating in instead of doing takeout. I recommend coming here if you're in the area! read more

In my top 3 favorite pizza places!! This place has been here my whole life and hasn't changed a bit other than the name. The breadsticks are just as delicious as the pizza! They also have great salads, the servers are always so sweet and it's very down to earth and hometown vibe. I definitely recommend trying my favorite pizza is their BLT pizza on the hand tossed with their homemade ranch as the sauce. If you don't eat meat just replace the bacon with feta !! read more

Updating my ages old review because of the not-so-new ownership change (bit late to the game). This has been our local pizza place since 1990 so maybe just a tad biased! However, we do keep coming back. The new owners have brought in some new ideas including a selection of craft beer (including on-tap), soup in the cooler months and newly renovated restrooms. As others have noted, the restaurant does remain in the family so the changes still maintain the overall vibe while updating to meet current tastes. It's a good place for a quick dinner or a casual family event, the party room seats about 40 and sees a number of sports teams, birthday parties and other get-togethers. read more

Ordered pick up, it was missing food and the pizza wasn't deep dish as ordered. They offered to make another pizza and get the missing food at no cost keep the other pizza. They called me back stating to bring in the other pizza and then they would remake it. I asked for the money back (our other food would get cold and they asked us to bring it all in to put in their warmer with other peoples orders after we had part of it already) and I'd give them their food. "Manager" put the "owner" on the phone who told me it was just food so doesn't know why we were asking for money back after the manager had been rude and telling me the favor she was doing for me and most of our food would be cold. They did say they would refund the money at over $100...we shall see. Hung up on me and I never raised my voice or said anything rude. Disappointed with this place these days. This is the order that I placed on 08/16/2023 and it was made to perfection like always for the past 2 years. I always order the same with xtra sauce & specify instruction box. For 2 years it has been made the way I like & request it. Tonight I placed this order from my favorites with no changes and I get home and no extra sauce oooozing out like all the others in the past 2 years. I called the store to let them know & the only thing that I was offered was the employee telling me that the owner said he/she made it and extra sauce was on it. I informed her that the owner is wrong. Now I've been ordering this same exact order and never made wrong until tonight. She says, we know who you are and the owner says he/she read the instructions and put extra sauce on it and if I want more sauce you will need to specify and be charged. WTH???? I've NEVER had this issue until now and by the owner??? No apology and I'll make sure this won't happen again and for the inconvenience take a few bucks off my next order (for being a frequent loyal customer). Stepped out with my son for some pizza!! The breadsticks are amazing and not just bread! They have a great flavor and were fresh from the oven...that will always have me coming back for more!! I was not that impressed with the pizza and my son thought it was just ok too. For me the sauce was too sweet and that's just something I don't like on pizza. My son's complaint was the amount of cheese....he loves pizza but with light cheese. Our server was great. Very attentive and friendly! She kept our drinks full and checked on us regularly. Due to covid they have limited seating...only 7 available tables. They also have a small arcade but it's currently closed for safety too. We placed an order for delivery, which in this instance was delivered by Door Dash. An hour & 20 min later, the Door Dash driver calls my husband saying he can't find our house. According to his location that he gave us, he is 15 miles away in the opposite direction. Driver said he would call "customer service" and get back with us. Driver also pretended not to speak English when it wasn't convenient. It was very odd. Never heard back from the driver at all. Ten minutes after speaking with the driver, my husband called Graham's and spoke with the manager directly. They immediately remade our order and it was delivered by an employee (a non driver) within 40 minutes. The customer service, in rectifying the error on the Door Dash driver's part, was excellent and the pizza was fantastic. Yikes! Worst pizza ever. The thin crust was not just thin, it was cracker-thin and had absolutely no flavor (we ordered a simple pepperoni pie). I only ate it because I was starving, but the pizza crust literally tasted like cardboard. The 4-star rating this place has baffles me. My wine was spoiled and I had to ask for a new glass, our soup was cold and not fresh (pretty sure it was frozen and then microwaved), and the pizza was just *slightly* above frozen-pizza quality. Gramboli's is a family friendly restaurant with good vibes and plenty of space for small - medium size groups to gather. I've experienced better than average service here, the waitresses are patient and kind. The food is A-OK, now the pizza competition is stiff, in the area, but Gramboli's pizza is good and the garlic cheesy bread is so yummy. In additions to pizza they have decent pastas, sandwiches, and salads to chose from, they are okay too. The service and prices are a good reason to give this place a try. read more

One of the granddaughters was our waitress. The breadsticks are to die for. So soft and flavorful the dipping sauce isn't even needed. For a table of 4 one order was enough. On to the main meal...we ordered the Special deep dish large size. Fed the 4 of us with leftovers. The place fills up quickly but they also offer carry out. The line for that was out the door. It was hot and we needed a pizza while shopping for hot tubs at Family Leisure (formerly Watson's) and stumbled upon this place by chance. This location is clean, we've had no problems with service, and reasonably priced. I've tried the hand tossed and deep dish pizzas, both were good. They use two different types of sausage, the one typically used in their deep dish was my favorite. The breadsticks were simple and tasty, think a stick similar to what you might find at Noble Romans. No Mountain Dew here, so you'll have to settle for coke. This family run pizza joint reminds me of my childhood - you know, back in the 90's when your mom and dad would take the whole family out for pizza on a Friday night as a special treat. They have arcade games, little machines that dispense candy for a quarter, big screen televisions and the best pizza I've had in a long time. All who know me, know that cheese sauce features high on my list of desirable foods. I can't pass it up on any menu offering. Pizza is an American favorite - it's hard to get it wrong. But Gramboli's pizza isn't just your typical pizza, their crust is freakin' fabulous. I'm not sure what they do to make it so dang good... the deep dish is well, deep. But also hearty, moist (without being doughy) and delicious. Deep dish is my husbands favorite... The hand tossed is super light (i.e. airy), flavorful and my favorite. The best part is their pizza sauce though... I'm not sure what they add to it, cinnamon? Who knows... but it beats the socks off the competition. We've tried to replicate it at home, but to no avail. All in all, get to Gramboli's and try their pizza. Whether you are a hand-tossed or deep dish type, you'll love it. And don't forget the breadsticks. They rock.
