Met here for book club, and it was a great time! I have not been to the Irvington location for a bit! So it was good to be back and check out all the local art! I had the health nut salad! Which was very tasty, I enjoyed a sun king lavender seltzer! For the pizza we split it, half slaughter house five/sweet Caroline, both are savory and very good! Check out any of the Jockamos! Picked this up when I'm coming home from work. I got a plain 16 inch cheese, it was cut in square slices, which was a surprise, though common in Indianapolis The selection of spices put on the pizza was very good, and I thought this was a very solid tavern style pizza. Would recommend coming back if you prefer this style of pizza! read more

It was a random weeknight, really wasn't busy but first time in and didn't feel very welcomed. Not asking for red carpet treatment but the way they just pointed at wall when asking for a beer list was a little weird and rude quite honestly considering never had been in. Pizza was mediocre. Breadsticks were decent. Been to a lot of pizza places but never felt this way before. One and done for us. Better customer service and getting to know what could be future patrons instead of treating them like they are bothering you. All good though, many other pizza places to try. Three stars for the art inside. One star for the breadsticks. No stars for customer service. read more

*Written by my 11 year old nephew* There are two rooms here and they are great. There's also a lot of art here. The pizza looks amazing and it's the best pizza I've ever had. A small pizza is like two meals so you technically pay about 6.50 dollars for each which is awesome. The waitress, Kayla was amazing and they let us do things that other waiters would probably not let us do. read more

We have been coming here for 10+ years. I love how unique their pizza choices are + family friendly + great beer/cider + friendly service + dairy-free options. We had to stop coming for awhile once my husband found out he was lactose-intolerant, but as soon as we found out they had vegan cheese we were right back in! I just recently tried their beer cheese soup and health nut salad - both were incredible. Also always get their creamy Parmesan dip, it's addicting. Thanks Jockamo's ! read more

Our family loves Jockamos! This location is not our favorite, but the food always exceeds our expectations. We had a pretty long wait time despite the restaurant being pretty empty, however the staff was friendly and apologetic. Our food was served hot and cheesy! Our favorite menu item is the Caesar salad. Jockamo's is unique as their dressing has a delicious garlic flavor! I went there a couple weeks or so ago with a group of friends for dinner. Our table wasn't ready right away despite calling ahead to let them know we were coming. When we got there I saw that it was somewhat busy, but not too much. We ordered our drinks and our food. I had a Diet Coke and the Marty Melt with a spinach side salad with ranch dressing. My wife had one of their beers and a Reubano sandwich with thousand island dressing. The salad tasted nice and fresh on a small plate with crunchy bacon, some eggs, tomato, and mushrooms. I forgot to take a picture of it before eating it, I was hungry that night. The Marty Melt was supposed to be their version of a spinach melt with fresh spinach, Swiss cheese, Roma tomato, mushrooms, and whole grain Dijon mustard on what seemed like crusty French bread. I can say the ingredients tasted fresh, but there wasn't enough filling in it making me feel not quite satisfied with it. My wife's sandwich was a combination of a Reuben and a Cuban sandwich with honey-glazed ham, pepperoni, pulled pork and sauerkraut with Swiss cheese. There was a choice of thousand island dressing or whole grain Dijon mustard; she chose thousand island dressing. She had a side of chips and a pickle spear. Her sandwich looked huge and was really packed with all of the listed ingredients. It dwarfed my sandwich by quite a bit. She really enjoyed her sandwich and her chips and pickle spear were nice and crunchy. Everyone else in our party seemed to enjoy their food although a friend of ours ordered breadsticks, but never received them. At least she wasn't charged for them. The restaurant was somewhat clean, but the restroom needed a little attention. However there wasn't anyone available who wasn't too busy to notify, so I didn't bother. We got our check and were able to pay in a timely manner. read more

Customer service on the phone. I called for a delivery and the chick on the phone was rude and then said that their delivery driver was off because he needs a night off... I get it... I work at a restaurant... I've worked with horrible guest, but that mean girl that answered the phone and was rude when I picked up my order is an asshole. Sorry guys.... Great pizza, fast service and cold beer. What more could you want. Well let me tell you, let's start with the crust hand toasted and baked to perfection. Then the sauce, we had the bbq and the red and both were great and the perfect amount. Now the toppings, all 1st rate. This place has some absolutely delicious pizza and Italian beef. I highly recommend the Lazy Boy Pizza and the Italian beef but ask for the BBQ sauce to go with it. You will not be disappointed. Catie has outstanding customer service and a big smile that lights up the restaurant. The restaurant is clean and they have reasonable prices and lunch specials on the pizza slices. Our usual haunt for refreshments after golf at a nearby course. Catherine, Cate, Katie (u pick) was awesome as always. Pizzas and salads are top notch. For me the Buffalo Chicken pizza - though, being from Buffalo, NY, I had to chide Katie for serving with ranch- like no true aficionado does that and she agreed. The spinach/bacon salad was also a hit. A good beer selection and excellence in service from a roomful of servers and runners. read more

Stopped in for dinner. We usually go to the Greenwood location, but we were in the mood to go to this one. We started with beers and an order of breadsticks with the Creamy Parmesan. You can get up to 3 different dipping sauces, but we like the Parmesan so much, we get all 3 in this. We also got Greek salads and a 12" Dillinger Pizza. Everything was so tasty, and we have leftovers to look forward to. The customer experience here was outstanding! We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Our server was friendly and stayed on top of things., We didn't have to ask for anything while we were there. The decor is great too. I love the artwork on the walls. Consistently great pizza. Great combinations and lots of toppings to choose from if you want to build your own. I am a sucker for the Lazyboy, but their Thai pizza is also delicious. If you get a 12-inch or larger, you can get your pizza half and half... Problem solved. They do not take reservations and are generally rather busy. So keep that in mind. Service is a bit hit or miss. So enjoy when you have good service and take comfort in the delicious pizza if you don't. There is quite a bit of parking behind the building and also en entry door from the back parking lot. read more

We enjoyed our pizza here at Giacomo. It came recommended so we went there for the first time. It was good food nice atmosphere had a lot of cool looking Giacomo monkey photos and stuffed animals and things so that was pretty cool. Pizza was pretty solid good price for what we got. Food is really hit or miss. 1 in every 4 pizzas are actually tasty otherwise it's inconsistent. We got the Margherita pizza and it was dry and uncharacteristic for this type of pizza. We didn't notice that it doesn't have sauce but honestly that's unexpected for a classic pizza type. Also had a salad with chicken that just had a pre cooked piece of chicken on it with fake grill marks. Beer was good though! Service and atmosphere are what brought us in but the food was a miss this time. read more

We are regulars at Jockamos so I may be a little biased! I love the thin crust, well done pizza. We usually sit at the bar rail and the service is always excellent. We also order delivery quite often with the same quality service. The wait staff is always fast, very efficient, and knowledgeable. The Irvington location is our favorite! Clean location, roomy, and a nice bar area. We had the bunkhouse for the 1st time today and it just wasn't our style, luckily we ordered a back up! read more

Jockamo is a local favorite pizza restaurant in Indianapolis's historic Irvington neighborhood. They are popular for good reason! They have everything you're looking for in a pizza with plentiful toppings, the best crust, and a great menu with many specialties to choose from. Their takeout is fast and convenient, but we chose to dine in tonight and were impressed with the service. We ordered a small order of breadsticks (their Parmesan dipping sauce is the best) and a Healthnut salad to share, which is served chopped style with broccoli, cucumber, tomato, pine nuts, and a creamy garlic dressing. The 12 inch pizza was the perfect size for two to share with some extras leftover. I appreciated having the option to split half and half so we could try two flavors - our usual the Cheese Louise and a new one to us the Jockamo Special. If you give Jockamo a try, I recommend you spend time seeing all the vintage shops and enjoying the one of a kind charm of Irvington. read more

I wholeheartedly believe Jockamos has got to be in the top five craft pizza merchant's in the Metropolitan area. As I have tried many of the pizza combinations, I have thought all were wonderful. I've always loved Bazbeaux's and Jockamo's, both long-time family favorites. So, I tried to place a delivery order to my niece's house 4.4 miles from Jockamo's. They told me that was out of their delivery area!?! Unbelievable. Fortunately, Pasquale's had no such qualms. First time having their food, but it was great, and they DELIVERED. read more

We discovered this Jockamo's last year when looking for places to dine that were close to our Airbnb. We walked into a normal local place, just like we frequent at home, welcoming and great smells coming from the kitchen. We both ordered individual pizzas that were so good that we decided that when we returned in 2023 for the Drum Corps Internation competitions at Lucas Oil Stadium, we'd definitely return. Return we did! Hubby had the Slaughter House Five and I had the Meatballs and Buratta appetizer. Each was amazing! We'll definitely be back in 2024!!! read more

If you're a celiac, they have great options and none of my friends have ever gotten "glutened" here - and one of my friends needs to use an electronic tester to eat when they go out. Great local Pizzaria. Crispy crust and fresh toppings. Can get really busy on weekends but is worth the wait. We go at least once a month. We get the Slaughterhouse Five with tons of meat. So good! We went on a Tuesday night. Not too busy but still had a decent crowd. We sat at the bar and the atmosphere was a good time. As for the food, we ordered breadsticks which were good with classic nacho cheese dipping sauce. A classic that literally you can't mess up with so we thought it was a safe option. Not disappointed. Then we ordered the stuffed propane's peppers. Not a huge fan but they were okay. Then lastly we (two of us) shared a 12" lazy boy pizza. It was the right amount to feel a normal full feeling. An Irvington staple with tons of unique pizza options, sandwiches, salads, soups, desserts, and more! The staff is extremely welcoming and attentive. There is a reason they have employees who've worked there for over a decade. They have lots of rotating draft beer selections and wine. They offer great deals, such as a day for half price wine bottles, $4 drafts beer day, and a great weekday lunch special! As a born and raised Irvingtonian, I can say this place has brought many happy memories to me and it feels like home when you become a regular. I recommend thinking outside of the box when choosing a pizza. Don't go with a regular pepperoni. Instead try the GP, the Jockamo special, the Thai, or the breakfast pizza on weekends (SO underrated!). The house salad is fantastic with Gorgonzola and the breadsticks with creamy Parmesan are a MUST. I believe all of their sauces, minus the nacho cheese and ranch, are house made. Trust me on this: finish it all off with the bread pudding. It's one of the best restaurant desserts I have ever had. You can also host events/parties here but I don't think they take reservations just for regular lunch and dinner so be prepared to wait because it can get crazy busy in there! The bar is open seating though, and you can often grab a seat there pretty fast if you're with a smaller, all 21+ group! read more

I love this place! I went during the Irvington Holiday Open House. After my shopping I stopped in to place a to-go order. They were super busy so I jumped on their website and placed an order online and it was ready to go when they said it would be. I ordered the small LazyBoy and the Spinach Artichoke Bread. My husband and I ended up here for dinner on a Friday as we were trying to get somewhere by 7pm. Let me just warn you that 7pm came and went and we were just waiting for our check. I don't know if it was just too busy or they had people doing other things but service was super slow. Our server I think was actually a bartender and when it got busy he just didn't leave behind the bar or have anyone check on us and we were out on the patio after finishing eating and waiting for our check for 25 minutes. The pizza was good. It reminded me a lot of bazbeaux pizza but here you can split a pie into half and half. We choose the Thai pizza and the lazy boy. The pizza was tasty. A bit soggy in the middle but that was alright. It was super hot so it was fresh out of the oven. I definitely want to try more options. read more

So I ordered 2 10 inch pizzas to go, once I got there staff was so nice and friendly. They were quick to take care of me, which was appreciated. It seems like a chill place, I'd love to dine in some time, I liked that it had a relaxed vibe to it. One of the pizzas I ordered was buffalo chicken, and I was a little confused as I added mushrooms and bacon, and they only added them to half of the pizza... other then that, the pizzas tasted amazing, so much flavor, and would love to come back for more. read more

We always enjoy eating Jockamo pizza. Located in old Irvington at the corner of Audubon and Washington street known for their specialty pizzas and salads. Oh yah Da Beers! A selection of local beers from Sun King and Black Acre The team always takes care of you. Fond of this establishment as I grew up in the area and lived so close that I became addicted. Easily one of the top 3 best pizza spots in Indianapolis & surrounding areas!! Every time I bring someone here that's never tried it they leave a huge fan and always come back! They have a family dining area and a bar area. Bar is self seat and is nice if you want to just come in by yourself, grab a quick bite and a beverage! Hurry in if you haven't tried it yet! read more

Jack's does seem to be the dominant force here. There are donuts, bagels, cookies, and even kolaches. The prices are surprisingly affordable. Drinks include hot coffee, iced coffee, lattes, boba energy, and Pepsi products. They do have both sweet and unsweetened iced tea. The menu also includes Choc-ola! The deli menu includes toasted subs (every sub has 1/4-pound of meat and you can go double for an extra price). They use Boar's Head meats. You can get chips and a soft drink to make it a combo. This strip center is always a little hit-and-miss in terms of access, however, with some nearby road construction it seems just a bit slower and I was able to find a spot that improved my accessibility. If you go to the door by the entrance, the curb has a bit of a step to it. If you go to the end of the aisle, there's a smooth and level section to make it all easily work. The interior itself is nicely laid out and easily accessible. The employees were super friendly. They also offer catering. There's a combination of higher-top tables and regular tables. Business was fairly steady, however, I had no issue finding a place to sit. I ended up ordering a chicken salad sandwich that was a healthy size and quite tasty. I grabbed a bag of chips and my usual unsweetened iced tea. Pricing was right about $13. Overall, I was quite pleased and I would easily return. Whether you're seeking donuts or a deli sandwich, Sleepy Hollow (or Jack's) is an ideal place to stop in.

We have had the short rib multiple times in the past- and normally it is a hunk of meat, similar to a roast. Now, it is strips of tiny pieces of meat with a bone attached to it. If the owner/general manager is reading this- GO BACK TO THE ROAST STYLE- the strips of meat was too much work to eat. Still packed full of great flavor though. It had been before the pandemic since my last time in Indianapolis and much has changed on the city's dining and drinking landscape. Following a recommendation from a bartender at Sundry & Vice, I made my way to BODHI. I didn't have reservations, which I'd strongly recommend, since the place was packed on Wednesday night before 6PM. Fortunately, I was able to snag a seat at the bar, which was ideal since I was dining solo. Upon scanning the hip, high-energy, yet petite dining room, I had a sense of deja vu about it before realizing that I had been in this space before back when it was Black Market. I started off with a cocktail from Bodhi's intriguing and expansive drink list, a 7 Realms of Happiness, made with Old Hamer Bourbon, Faccia Brutto Centerbe, Cappelletti amaro, saffron honey, and lemon. My thought was that it's their twist on a classic Whiskey Smash. It was bittersweet, yet balanced, and simply a delight. As for the food, BODHI's menu is concise hitting the most of the Thai food usual suspects. I had the Papaya Salad and the Shrimp Green Curry. The papaya salad came out first. I was pleasantly surprised by its plating, looking much more like an elaborate entree with its cashews, watermelon radish, and chicharrones than the humble side salad atop a leaf of lettuce or cabbage that I've usually received at virtually every Thai restaurant I've ever been. It was just a pretty plate as it tasted even better than it looked. It was fresh and flavorful as those flavors popped from the perfect balance of salty, sweet, sour, spicy, and funky. It was the best rendition of a papaya salad that I've tasted. My bowl of curry was no less successful in balancing those diverse Thai flavor profiles. Unlike some/many other curries I've had where it seems like a bowl full of sauce with bits and pieces of protein or vegetables, Bodhi's rendition achieved the perfect "solids to sauce" ratio. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and the curry itself was bold and bright on my tongue. It was a delicious spoonful. I loved it! For "dessert", I had a second cocktail, the Garnet, a booze-forward whisky drink made with Mars Iwai Tradition, Pinhook Rye, Akashi Ume Plum whisky, Veda Mushroom Liqueur, Balsamic Vermouth, celery & orange bitters, and topped with a Moon Smoke Bubble. It was very unique, tasty and satisfying, if not a bit difficult to describe. I would maybe compare it to an Asian-influenced Vieux Carre and I thought it was excellent. Service from Carli, the bartender, was stellar throughout my night as she was friendly, helpful and exceedingly outstanding in making my drinks. A definite rock star! BODHI was outstanding. I'm not sure how to best describe the place. Was it as an amazing Thai restaurant that also does incredible cocktails or an amazing cocktail bar that also does killer Thai food? EVERYTHING. first, the staff…read morehere was the best. super kind, super welcoming, super accommodating. we came here on a time crunch, and they worked with our schedule (and they were so friendly about it). be prepared for a bit of a wait tho; we came here 15 mins after they opened and there was already a wait, with all inside seating being filled. for the dishes, i got the crab puffs, pad thai, pad kra pao, and panang curry. everything was seriously fantastic and they were not shy with the spice level (in true thai fashion). im sad i didnt get to try a cocktail because they all looked so pretty and sounded tasty, but i will def be back!!!

I laughed though because the bar was playing The Muppet Show on the TV. lol The dinner menu is expensive so I went for brunch. (I believe their brunch is from 10am-2pm on Saturday and Sunday.) I ordered brisket hash (crispy potatoes, cheddar cheese, braised brisket, chimichurri, eggs, toast) and it was outstanding, although expensive at $24. The main floor dining like a lunch vibe, but it turned out to be a cozy choice. For appetizers, we started with the cornbread after our focaccia was unfortunately not the best. Seemed to be over-proofed. The cornbread was absolutely phenomenal and a must-have! A special shoutout to our waitress, Arya, who noticed our disappointment with the focaccia and generously brought us the cornbread on the house. That kind of service is truly memorable! I also had the beets and peaches salad, which was refreshing but a tad overdressed. Still, I couldn't resist finishing the entire dish. For my main course, I ordered the lasagna, and I can confidently say it was one of the best I've ever had. It wasn't overloaded with cheese and instead complemented by mushrooms and pesto, and surprisingly light on the stomach. My husband chose the filet and rated it an 8/10, saying he thoroughly enjoyed it. We were so full by the end that we skipped dessert. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful, and the staff was incredibly attentive throughout our meal. The only downside was the atmosphere; coming from Chicago, we expected a more bustling vibe on a Thursday night. It seems Indianapolis is a bit quieter during the week. Overall, we had a delightful dining experience, and hats off to Arya for her exceptional service!
