    Italian Beef Sandwich!!!

Not my first Visit, not my Last! This place is a GEM! The Italian Beef Sandwich is incredible! Onions, peppers, hot peppers, and a mountain of Beef! All on an incredible soft bun!! I had to come back a second day in a row to make sure I wasn't dreaming the first day! These guys are always super nice and helpful too! Seriously, it's that good.

exterior (Note Washington St is not divided by the restaurant entrance. You just have to watch traffic if crossing lanes.

What an eclectic mix of offerings for a small independent restaurant (I believe so!) that serves so quickly that we had hardly any wait in the drive through lane. Amazing! Though they do have some indoor dining, we decided to get ours to go through the drive up. We both ordered Greek food, though they have traditional Americana food, and some Mexican items too. I got the Chicken Gyro plate which has the Chicken gyro AND a small Greek Salad with Tzatziki sauce on the side. My wife just wanted the sandwich. We waited until we got home to eat but the sandwiches remained hot. I forgot how large and filling a gyro can be. These portions were plenty! In fact, trying to pick them up and fold them over to eat was a challenge they have so much stuff on them. I do wish they would cut the green peppers and onions a little smaller. I like my toppings to compliment, not dominate the meat portion of the sandwich. So, after removing some of the large pieces, and adding the sauce, we were able to enjoy our meal. I will admit I settled down with a knife and fork to cut the gyro down to a more manageable size and less mess at the table. ha! Good taste and really fast service. Nice tip: Although this shop is located on a busy section of East Washington Street, you can cross lanes without worrying about being blocked by a raised median strip by the entrance/exit. Just watch traffic since it can get busy here! Nice to know that if you change your mind for what sounds good, they have multiple options to choose from. Review #3887

We've had lunch and dinner here many times. Their Gyros are the best in the city. Their catfish is also outstanding.

I laughed though because the bar was playing The Muppet Show on the TV. lol The dinner menu is expensive so I went for brunch. (I believe their brunch is from 10am-2pm on Saturday and Sunday.) I ordered brisket hash (crispy potatoes, cheddar cheese, braised brisket, chimichurri, eggs, toast) and it was outstanding, although expensive at $24. My server was wonderful - just a delightful soul. The customers at the table next to me ordered chicken and waffles and their food looked amazing.

The main floor dining like a lunch vibe, but it turned out to be a cozy choice. For appetizers, we started with the cornbread after our focaccia was unfortunately not the best. Seemed to be over-proofed. The cornbread was absolutely phenomenal and a must-have! A special shoutout to our waitress, Arya, who noticed our disappointment with the focaccia and generously brought us the cornbread on the house. That kind of service is truly memorable! I also had the beets and peaches salad, which was refreshing but a tad overdressed. Still, I couldn't resist finishing the entire dish. For my main course, I ordered the lasagna, and I can confidently say it was one of the best I've ever had. It wasn't overloaded with cheese and instead complemented by mushrooms and pesto, and surprisingly light on the stomach. My husband chose the filet and rated it an 8/10, saying he thoroughly enjoyed it. We were so full by the end that we skipped dessert. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful, and the staff was incredibly attentive throughout our meal. The only downside was the atmosphere; coming from Chicago, we expected a more bustling vibe on a Thursday night. It seems Indianapolis is a bit quieter during the week. Overall, we had a delightful dining experience, and hats off to Arya for her exceptional service!

FLAVORFUL RESTAURANT IN A HIP PART OF INDY…read more======================================== My daughter-in-law recommended Bluebeard for dinner on Monday, June 22, 2026. I would have to say this restaurant is my favorite in Indy right now after one meal. Most of the things we shared were amazing and for a complete description please refer to my photo of the menu. We ordered the following: Burrata with Amelia's bread as an appetizer which was delicious. Gem Salad - This was amazing and I could eat it every day of the week. Stacci house made pasta - This was a big hit and I would order this every time. Hanger Steak - My husband, aka the picky eater, loved it. I didn't try it, but everyone seemed to like it. Chicken with a few dumplings - We all loved this. Three desserts to share: a cheesecake with fruit on top, one a bread pudding and a chocolate crisp. I ordered a delicious Monsoon Season cocktail with song cai vietnamese gin, cocchi americano, st. george thai basil eau de vie, elderflower, lemon and basil oil. My son and I also ordered glasses of Port after dinner. The service was great and I loved that they were playing really good rock music like Soundgarden and others. There are lots of antique typewriters above the bar and a cool print of Kurt Vonnegut by the bathrooms. I am looking forward to going again the next time my husband and I are in Indy visiting my son and daughter-in-law unless they move out of state.

Themed around Indy native Kurt Vonnegut, you'll see old typewriters, books, and names of menu items paying tribute to the famous author. The menu feels high class but the atmosphere and wait staff are friendly and welcoming. You could dress up for a special occasion or come in casual every day wear and either fit in just fine. Their ever changing menu featuring local produce and meats is always unique, inventive, and most importantly, delicious. Their cocktail list is one of the best and I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had an extensive mocktail list as well. Their sodas and syrups are all house-made which means every drink is full of fresh flavors. I had a lemon pasta dish an my husband ordered the hanger steak. Both were cooked perfectly and composed of flavors and textures that complimented each other perfectly. There's nothing that wouldn't be good on their menu because you can tell the chefs are exceptional as well as the ingredients they choose. I really can't say enough good things about this place, it remains one of my favorite places to enjoy a meal and no matter what I choose, I'm never disappointed.

I got my order to go but the gentleman who took my order was kind enough to offer me a cup for some water. The spot was happening. Music, good vibes, the decor was fun. I couldn't decide which meal I was trying so I'm definitely going to make another trip sometime soon. I got the tenders with mac but added a side of greens. Boy oh boy the greens were the star and wow my tastebuds were incredibly satisfied. I've had greens but these were like some ultimate flavors and holy greens i definitely could just order some of these every now and again by themselves. Mac was great. Definitely complimented the greens. The tenders though omg. The flavor was insane. I gotta try them with the waffles next time for sure. Overall the wait wasn't long and my food was still hot. I ended up sharing with my son and he was even raving about it. Great service, fun and lit atmosphere, last but not least food was fire. Side note: people complain about price but I'll be honest, when the food is good and staff are amazing, the price to me doesn't matter. It honestly hurt to see all that chicken go directly into the garbage, but they claim it was inedible. Since it's not a saucy type of flavoring, but a dry rub, they said that the heat was painful, and not flavorful. Back to the sandwich I enjoyed... I felt that there was a sweetness to the flavor that I liked, which I could see not everyone enjoying. There is also a hot dusting over the french fries which exacerbates any discomfort people are having from the heat. There really wasn't anything to cool it down.
