King Dough is one of those places that feels cool without trying too hard. The open kitchen lets you watch the crew work around the wood-fired oven while the smell of fresh pizza slowly convinces you that you made an excellent life decision. The space itself is bright, industrial, and relaxed, with large garage doors that let plenty of light in and communal tables that make it easy to settle in. Our pizza came out surprisingly fast, especially considering everything is made fresh. We ordered pepperoni, sausage, and red onion, and they absolutely loaded it with toppings. Crispy, blistered crust, gooey cheese, and enough pepperoni to make me stop counting after about bite three. It was honestly love at first bite. One tip: don't skip the restroom before you leave. I won't spoil it, but whoever decorated those walls and that door clearly had some fun. King Dough nails that balance between casual neighborhood pizza joint and destination-worthy meal. I'd happily come back...and next time, I might have to branch out from my beloved pepperoni. read more

Never have had a bad time at King Dough. Love the patio but on a warm day it is also nice to be able to sit inside with the AC while still enjoying fresh air because of the garage doors. The Greko salad is my ALL TIME favorite salad and will never not be ordered. Pizzas are always perfectly cooked. While some of the topping choices seem strange, the combos always work! We hadn't been to King Dough since it opened in 2019, but made the trip this weekend. It was incredible. We were seated outside under the wisteria canopy. Our server was so friendly and helpful. We started with the Sticky Stix, which were delicious. I ordered a cheese pizza which was amazing. My husband ordered the Gabba Ghoul. He loved it. The crusts were perfect. King Dough delivers in all senses of the word! This handcrafted za is some of the best in Indy. Don't forget about their other offerings - the salads are great! And I'll be back to try the wings. There are a handful of tables for indoor seating, a bar area, and a great patio in the summer. Highly recommend the Hawaii 5-0 pizza with BBQ sauce, ham, pineapple, and jalepenos. The Shop salad was fresh and a small was enough to share among 3-4 people. Decided to try it out since my bf hadn't been here and it had been years for me. We ordered the stinky Pete and destroyer...both were absolutely delicious!!! Stacey was very welcoming and we definitely are going back to see her and try a couple more different pizzas. Great food through and through. HORRIBLE service through and through. We are a busy couple who often just opt for pick up. You are automatically charged 15% gratuity, which I am fine with - except the food is always at least 20 mins behind the pick up time. They have forgotten sauces we paid extra for in the past, which we have let slide and just made sure they were in the order before leaving the next time. This time we decided because of the long wait times we would order delivery and just get it when we get it instead of waiting awkwardly I their place with no seating. We mainly order for their wings, if not the wings I would have walked across the street to Greeks. Order arrives - actually on time for the first time ever. No wings. Instead I received Ashleigh S's mozzarella sticks. We use the ranch for our pizza, no ranch. I called to explain. They offered to make wings and we could pick up (I would have done that from the jump if I wanted to drive) or they could refund me the wings. I was refunded a whopping $3 per the receipt they sent. I called back, they said they would get a manager and I was promptly hung up on with no call back. I called back twice, no answer. Love their pizza. Hate their customer service and management. They clearly don't have the capacity to handle online orders - wish we would have realized this the first 4x we gave them a shot. Wild they include the 15% gratuity for horrid service. read more

Had a little extra time downtown before heading home to the malaise of suburbia, so I ordered up a pizza from King Dough to snag before heading that way. The ordering process is smooth, and after reviewing all of the fun flavor combinations, I went with their signature pepperoni, which is paired with red sauce, oregano, and aged mozzarella. Upon arrival, I found a spot on the street, and was taken in by the neighborhood. It appears that there has been a fair amount of growth in the area and the landscaping was popping with color from the wildflowers. Even on a Tuesday evening, this location was fairly full of activity and there were people both inside and out enjoying their meals. I was so happy to see the wood fired oven doing its thing in the back of the space and gave it a reverential nod as the star of the show. My pizza wasn't quite ready, but after a brief check-in, they brought it right out and I was on my way. At home, I dug right in and it was worth the wait. The crust has just the correct amount of char in spots that you can't just get from your standard pizza oven. The pepperonis were a perfect size for me and curled up to form little cups with a slight crisp on the edges. All told, I "get it" now. I understand why King Dough comes up as one of the best pizza spots in the greater Indianapolis area. I will happily be adding this to our rotation. read more

This was my first time here and they happened to have a nice special so my small group was able to share. It took a while to decide on the pizza but we finally all agreed on one. There was a regular patron among us who recommended the Hot Honey wings and they were spectacular!! We also had the Greco salad that was pretty big and the Fungi Ricky pizza. It took me a second to get into the pizza but it was tasty, but different. Service was pretty fast and staff was helpful. Great pizza place near Tech high school. E we're geared at the door and offered outdoor our indoor seating. We chose indoor because it was a little chilly out. They took us to a seat, there weren't many people there yet as we got there a little early right after opening. She offered us drinks. They have a peach unsweet iced tea that is really good, offered us a five dollar beer, special, as well as Coke products and various other alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks. We got a few drinks and did a salad. The shop salad was really good. I had lots of different ingredients in it. Was really good lettuce was crunchy and all the other parts of the salad tasted really great together. we also got a pizza the big boi pizza. With pepperoni, sausage, red onions, and some sweet peppers. It was really good. The sauce had a little heat to it. The crust was crispy and is really going to be one of our go to places moving forward. The waitress did a great job, taking care of us keeping our drinks filled and taking care of all of our needs. The inside of the place is industrial, not much, but clean and a real nice updated look. I would highly recommend this place if you'd like thin crust good pizza. read more

This restaurant transports you to Brooklyn! I loved it! I've been trying to find a brick oven style pizza in Indy for a bit and this pizza was delicious! They're located near Smoking Goose so they have some fresh topping options from there. The inside has some high tops, low tops, TVs, and a separate bar area. They have fun, unique wines (that unfortunately are only by the bottle so I didn't get the chance to try any) and they have featured wines on Wednesdays. I do wish they had glass options of the more unusual wines. They do have specials on other days as well so check out their website! BE AWARE - they charge $3 for a side of ranch and have no problem not mentioning the extra cost, which I think is rude and should have be communicated. Finally ventured to King Dough on a Sunday evening. The interior was larger than it appeared, and super bright and open. Service was friendly and prompt. We ordered wings and marinated olives. The olives were warm, which was a totally new experience for all of us. I don't think those were my favorite, but I didn't dislike them either. The wings were really good. We had a few different pizzas, and all were excellent. The crust was chewy and still crisp, just right. An adjacent table ordered some kind of salad that looked amazing - that's going on my list for our return visit for sure. I cannot believe how long it's taken me to try King Dough but they now have a new regular! (Me ‍) I happened to go on a Tuesday when they were running a special for a salad and 14" pizza for $30. I split this with my friend and we were full before we finished everything. It was perfect! We got the margerhita pizza and the house salad which was full of flavor and filling! I'm not much do a salad person but the house salad was delicious. We sat out on the patio and it was such a relaxing way to spend the evening. A slight mishap occurred when my friend accidentally knocked the table and we lost a few slices. The staff were so kind and gave us a few slices free of charge to make up for it. Our waitress was lovely and even though it was a busy evening on the patio we were never waiting too long. My family and I ended up walking over here for dinner after attending the Cheese & Wine Festival in the area. The place looked packed and we thought we were going to have a wait. It must've been our lucky night because we were seated immediately. There are quite a few different types of pizzas and some appetizers as well. We ordered some wings and Parmesan truffle fries, and for pizzas my girls had their classic cheese and Mi Amor and I ordered the Stinky Pete. Everything (wings and fries) came out within 30 minutes which was great because my 7 year old was "starving". The fried were crisped to perfection, everyone enjoyed the wings although I personally didn't find anything special about them. Now the pizzas......amazing. The dough was the thickness I love and must've been cooked in a wood fire oven based on the way the crust browned. The only thing lacking is the crust, for me, didn't have any real flavor but the toppings on top packed enough to make it enjoyable. The windows were open so you got to have the feeling of sitting outside without actually being outside which was nice. The staff was very friendly and gave their favorite recommendations on pizza which was nice, although I had peeked at the menu prior to so I already had an idea what I wanted. Visited King Dough Indianapolis location, located on the northwest corner of Michigan Pl and N Highland Ave, just south of E Michigan St (one way westbound street). The decor inside and the covered outdoor patio with plants growing up it and on it is pretty cool, feels very inviting. Unfortunately, other than that, I didn't get the same vibe throughout the visit. King Dough wasn't very busy the night I went in, just about every table inside was available and about half the tables outside were available in the patio area. Prior to stopping in at King Dough we checked out the menu that's available on Google. Some of the party didn't feel like pizza, so were looking forward to some Sticky Stix and Truffle Fries, or just the Order of Fries. Welp, when we asked for an order of fries, or Truffle Fries, we were rudely informed that they don't serve fries. We quickly looked through King Dough's digital menu via scanning the table's qr code, making sure to select Indianapolis as the location. It was showing as an option, again we were rudely told fries aren't sold here. Okay then, we just went with the Sticky Stix and a build-your-own pizza. As an out-of-towner I probably took a little more time ordering the build-your-own pizza than the locals and I wasn't aware that half and half pizzas were politely declined. My party and I werew informed though, albeit it wasn't politely declined. We were aggressively told they don't do that. No problem, but making me feel like a loser wasn't very kind . Oh well, ended up order two pizzas, they were both good. I also had a beer, the Red Ale from Centerpoint Brewing Company which was also good. One more thing, the Sticky Stix that we were served didn't really look like the Sticky Stix that were pictured in the menu. The actual Sticky Stix that were were served kinda looked liked frozen mozzarella sticks. Oh ya, we also ordered the marinated olives and you sure do get a lot, and they were delicious. I loved my first visit to King Dough. It is in a residential area and it was not under my radar- I'm glad I know about it now. This is a place should bring a lot of appetite. I couldn't pick just one item, so I ordered a small Margherita pizza and 8 piece hot honey chicken wings. I read some people were unhappy with the time it takes for pizza, but I don't feel the wait was long at all. I also loved their unsweetened peach tea. It's unique that it is the only kind of iced tea they have. Margherita pizza was average, and I wished there were a bit more of sauce and cheese. but my wings were GREAT. They had the right amount of kick to them and are so addicting. I am not a huge pizza person, but I can see myself coming back here for just those wings. They are that good. The owner describes King Dough Indy as a "vibrant patio pizzeria..." and I second that. I fancy myself a pizza connoisseur, and King Dough is easily a new favorite. With an exciting, fun, "spunky" decor, King Dough welcomed my son and I in for what would be an incredible experience. The service was amazing, & it's always a sign of great food to come when the service is this good, an even better sign when the smells greet you at the door. We ordered two orders of wings- hot honey sesame and buffalo, the buffalo was a traditional hot but not overwhelmingly spicy-- juicy. The hot honey sesame was different- the sesame was the leading flavor, and I'm not sure that I loved them. We ordered a large pep-- delicious, my kiddo said this is a new favorite. They only offer 2 crust styles - their original and a gluten-free option. We had the original and it was delicious.
