We did takeout from Jockamo. Sometime ago you had to call in to place your order. It seemed it was always wrong. We never got the right order With the new system we got what we ordered the first time This pizza was good. The cheese did not cover the pizza and when we tried to eat it the filling fell out. We thought we got ham, sausage and pepperoni as meat. They must chop the meat into tiny pieces. We could not find meat but thought we tasted meat The pizza was ready when they said. It is in a nice, sturdy box with a container of hot peppers Since we were carry out I am unable to describe the ambiance but have been inside and find it very nice Will we eat at Jockamo's again? EDIT: Thank you for your response Nancy! I actually have made many Google reviews regarding positive experiences but have only recently decided to use Yelp as well. I always support independent businesses which is why I mentioned that I have frequent this location multiple times and only have had one bad experience. This will not detour me from ordering again but I wanted to share all my experiences and not just one. I also was able to call and receive my credit so I appreciate that as well! Love Jackamo pizza, Ive ordered pickup and delivery from this location multiple times since moving to the Eastside. I picked up two pizzas on Sunday. I tried for the first time a small Margarita pizza and unfortunately I did not like it due to the fact that the cheese was overpowering. When I think of a margarita pizza I think of lots of sauce, basil, and garlic with minimum cheese. I added pizza sauce because Jackamo's margarita pizza actually does not come with sauce but the cheese took over the pizza so much that it just seemed like a cheese pizza. Unfortunately in my second pizza which was a large lazyboy I discovered it had a piece of plastic wrapper in it. I was unable to call to get this fixed because it was after hours and they were closed on Memorial Day but I hope this was just a one time mistake because I would hate to stop coming here entirely. read more

I had Jockamo pizza a few years ago, but recently came in with a group on a Sunday evening. Service was A+, friendly and fast. The breadsticks are nice and fluffy. The pizza we got was good with a nice amount of toppings, but it just isn't one of my top pizzas in Indy. Not a huge fan of the cheese and the way it melts, but that is just personal preference! I got a 10 inch build your own pizza with regular pizza sauce, chicken and green peppers. The pizza crust was cooked nicely and it was crispy. Now that I see how they load the pizza with lots of cheese I will ask for light cheese next time. The abundance of cheese overpowers the rest of the pizza. I like how the pizza had larger slices of chicken and a nice quantity of pieces of green pepper. I received great service from Saysha. After ten years, it's likely time that I do an update to my Jockamo review. However, the first thing I'm going to note is that my overall star rating isn't going to change. For me, Jockamo remains a solid entry in Indy pizza scene. It's a place I look forward to visiting, but I'm unlikely to ever consider it one of Indy's best. For those who don't yet know, this location is in the Fort Ben area in one of the office buildings. It's on the ground floor and faces East 56th Street. It is right across the parking lot from a Tru by Hilton. Jockamo is locally owned. There are locations in Irvington and Greenwood in addition to this one. All the locations tend to have a slightly hipster vibe with a warm, hospitable decor and friendly customer service. On this day, I arrived shortly after their 11am open for a quick lunch. I typically get a "build your own" option here - it's nearly always a 10" pepperoni pizza and my usual unsweetened iced tea. I eat for about $15. I will occasionally get breadsticks, though I didn't today. Today, I was basically told I could sit where I wanted. I picked a comfy 4-top near a window. This building was fairly new when opened a bit over ten years ago. So, unlike most of Fort Ben there are not really accessibility issues. That said, a couple of the parking spots are not ADA compliant and that always leaves me asking "Why?" There are a couple of truly ADA compliant spots. I have definitely had occasions when I passed by Jockamo because accessible parking as not available. They serve up the usual selection at all three locations including a wide variety of pizza options easily customized, a variety of appetizers, beer/wine, salads, sandwiches, a lunch special menu, and more. Vegetarians can easily get by here - My sense is that Vegans can, but I won't swear to it. I ordered my usual. The pepperoni pizza was good with ample toppings that were generous without being decadent. The crust was nicely crisped, though not burnt. Again, this is not my favorite Indy pizza. However, I consistently like it. I think where Jockamo tends to excel is in customer service and that was also top-notch today. Jockamo offers free Wi-Fi. They also carry local art work AND give 100% of the proceeds (cash only) to the artist. I love that. During warmer months, they do have outside dining options. They also have a bar area that is not kid-friendly. The rest of the dining room is family friendly. I still prefer this location. Irvington is the original - it's got a great vibe, but I'm just a Fort Ben dude. I like this spot and I love this area. During the week, they also have lunch specials that are awesome including slice options. I'm not around Fort Ben during the week as I work downtown, but I really like the specials and go for them when I can. Good pizza. Great people. An environment that is warm and welcoming. Ten years later, I still love Jockamo. read more

I have been here multiple times. This location has great service. I used to come here for lunch when I worked in the area due to them having a lunch special. The lunch special is definitely worth the price because you get a lot for the price. The restaurant and ambience is clean and organized inside. Jockamo does a wonderful job at giving back into the community. The employees are very cheerful and you can tell they enjoy their work they do there. The times I have been here I haven't dealt with an employee who had an attitude due to having to work. read more

I got to say. This place is absolutely fantastic. I come from NY. Moved to Georgia last year, and this past year have traveled from Kentucky, Ohio, Alabama, Florida, and Indiana for work. I have been absolutely horrified by the pizza I've had, that I've sworn off pizza in general unless I make it at home. Jockamo has absolutely restored my faith in there being good pizza outside of NY. I got the 12" sausage. Wasn't thick wasn't burnt, it was absolutely perfect. Of course Ny will always be the best pizza in my opinion But man Jockamo is right behind them. I recall it was pretty busy so we decided to eat out on the patio section. It was a beautiful sunny day. We ordered several pizzas: -Chicken Alfredo pizza -Caprese pizza -Cajun pizza -Mediterranean pizza -Buffalo Chicken pizza We all shared so we can get a taste of each one. They were ok and average. My colleague and I were able to walk to Jockamo from across the parking lot which made it quite convenient. Especially since they had a special for $4 draft beer. Destiny was our server and did a wonderful job keeping my beer glass full. I ordered the Lazyboy pizza. They certainly have quite the selection of specialty pizza which you can build yourself or just go with their creations. Since it was taco tuesday, I almost went with that type of themed pizza, but realized I really wanted mozzarella and toppings. The Lazyboy provided a blend of different veggies plus ham, sausage and pepperoni. The crust was good. Unfortunately even the small size was too big. This might be polarizing, but Jockamo is just OK, in my opinion. I've heard nothing but rave reviews about this pizza joint, and it's been on my list of must-visit places for a while. Maybe I built it up in my head? In any case, it was alright. It could have been because we ordered two medium pizzas. Medium pizzas never taste as good as large or extra large! I think it has something to do with the ratio of crust to sauce and cheese. We got one Meatball Pizza (meatballs, green pepper, red onion, extra sauce) and one pepperoni. The meatballs were actually really good, and it made me wish I would have gotten the meatballs and ricotta appetizer, which is on the menu and I was so close to getting. Maybe next time. Although I've only been 3 times over the last 2 year, this isn't the first time I've left a good review for Jockamo. Today I was near by and STARVING. I decided to try it again but this time get something completely different. I tried the spinach-artichoke bread off the appetizer menu. Amazing. Looked different than I imagined as I thought it would be like spinach and artichoke dip on bread. I don't know, but every part was delicious and the marinara paired with it set it off. I ate the whole thing by myself. Service was great just as every time I've been. The restaurant was clean and tidy too. Today around 2 pm it was pretty empty, but I've drove by many times at noon and the parking lot has always been packed. read more

First time at this location. Pizza was delicious and a strong 4 stars. Cool vibe inside. This location has two levels and a lot of seating. While our server was nice and working so hard, he was the only one working the bar and bar dining room and he couldn't keep up. At one point they were out of glasses and then plates. We had to wait for a new box of glasses to be opened and washed (which this same guy did) and more plates to come up from the back. We understand busy nights and we don't mind waiting and we definitely felt for the guy hustling hard trying to keep up (which included clearing tables too), but the service element was two stars are best. We initially thought maybe they were short staffed, but we saw a bunch of staff around, so maybe some management issues going on? Not sure. Having said all that, we enjoy the pizza enough that we'll hope this was just an off night and give it another try sometime. We've also been to their two other locations and had excellent experiences all around, so I'd still recommend Jockamo's. read more

Jockamo pizza never disappoints! They have a huge selection of pizzas and everyone can find something new and original that they'll like. My personal favorite is the Sweet Caroline. The sweet honey and savory meats makes it the best pizza ever. The place itself is huge and has a more modern vibe to it. Plenty of dining room seating with a private space as well. The bar feels a little small for a typical pizza place I'd say, but there are plenty of tables. My only negative is that the service isn't usually great when I go there. They're always friendly, but it usually takes a while before you get service and I end up feeling like I could have been checked on more often. Still a great place to catch up with friends, play a few bar games, or have a quick dinner! read more

One of our favorite dining and watering holes after golf at The Fort. Always good food and decently prompt service. We are a group of 8 to 10 so not an easy table by any means. Beer selection from local breweries is good. Pizzas and salads are top notch. Favorites are the Slaughterhouse Five, Basil Pesto and Spinach salad. I love that I can get half & half of specialty pies. Mine is a Creole Shrimp (though I miss the crawfish option) and the new Inferno. Busy place and satisfying as ever. read more

Where else can you get a lunch special for under $10?! Only at Jockamo! Weekdays until 3pm you can get a slice, drink and your choice of salad or breadsticks for $7 or less! I even added an additional side to my lunch and total was still under $10! Plenty of seating indoors or out at the Fort Ben location so wait is never long when I come. read more

I am a huge pizza lover. I've lived in many states and two countries and research pizza places wherever I live, and try to make a point to get to most. I did that with Jockamo's, driving 30 minutes, looking forward to trying it. The bar was a joke, it was like an afterthought, with no designated bartender. No ambiance, and I noticed fruit flies flying around. ( anyone knows that is not a good sign ) Random servers in and out of the bar, all ignoring me except one. I ordered a personal pizza with 4 toppings. I was shocked when it came out. Just by looking at it, it looked as hard as cardboard and FROZEN. The crust was like something you would expect on a Tombstone crust! Hard, tasteless and just did not seem fresh! The body of the pizza was not much better. Hard as well, I swear to god this was a frozen pre-made pizza that just had toppings thrown on it. This is the first time in 20+ years that I took leftovers with me and threw them out. What a joke. If the people of Indy think this is a good pizza place, they obviously are used to eating frozen at home. Futuro, Ale Emporium, King Dough aren't even in the same league.
