Came here for a later dinner recently to enjoy some Chicago deep dish. I honestly had no idea there was anywhere in Indy to get it! Our service was appropriately paced for the time it takes to make a Chicago deep dish pizza. I liked the TVs they had in the center of our dining area, which had some pre-season football coverage. The booths have taller partitions so it feels more intimate. I also liked the marquee saying "EAT PIZZA". I will certainly follow instructions there! The pizza we got was "The Special": sausage, green pepper, onion, and mushroom. I thought the pizza was fine, my only thing about Chicago style is that the vegetables can't caramelize like they would on a regular pizza. But that's just a personal opinion. First time at Giordano's but I've had Chicago deep dish pizza before. The restaurant is in a great location in downtown Indy with high ceilings and lots of light. We went at 12:45 on a Thursday afternoon. We had a large group and were told it was about a thirty minute wait (which was fine). The food was good. I'm not a huge fan of Chicago style deep dish pizza but I hadn't had it in a few years. The crust was ok but not flaky enough. The sauce had a good tomato flavor and a bit on the chunky side. There were only a few pieces of sausage and the cheese was not very noticeable in the flavor profile. My Caesar salad was very good with lots of Parmesan cheese. The service left a lot to be desired. I'm not being critical of our server but rather the overall management of the service. They were very understaffed as servers were taking orders, bringing food and drinks, and clearing tables. The food came out of the kitchen slow. And there was one person (who I assume was a manager) who stood around with his arms folded, biting his nails, and doing nothing to help the servers. I'm sorry but if you are short staffed, roll up your sleeves and help clear tables or bring drinks. He did nothing while the servers ran from place to place. In the end, the food was ok but our experience lacked efficient service and I wouldn't go back to this Giordano's location again. There are a lot of other options in the area. read more

This place is my group's go-to place on Day 0 for PRI and it's honestly the BEST pizza ever. I'm from California and ever since I got my hands on a slice of Giordano's signature famous deep dish pizza, it was over. No pizza place from my home state can't compare so Giordano's is always something to look forward to during our 4 day visit. Meat and more meat! This was our table's pizza that was split between 4 people. Honestly can't complain, I love all of their pizza but since we only visit once a year, we always order deep dish style. Never fails and always leaves us full! Carnivore? Then you should definitely order this dish! Make sure it's the biggest one too! Calabrian Chili Honey Chicken Wings Ok so I can't be entirely biased with Giordano's. We wanted to try this out since it was a limited chicken wing flavor and honestly it wasn't the best. I mean it's a pizza joint? They specialize in pizza but we were so hungry that we figured to try it out. Hey, if you love chicken wings or just an enthusiast for wings in general, by all means give this one a shot if it's still available! Overall Always excited to come to Indiana cause I KNOW I'll be eating some damn good pizza. Deep dish style isn't for everyone which is nice that they have their Tavern Style and Thin Crust Pizzas. I LOVE Giordano's - it's my favorite Chicago-style pizza - and I'm in town for work this week. My husband told me there's a location 1/4 of a mile from my hotel, so I decided to get delivery tonight. They are not on Doordash - they have their own system, and there is a $1 delivery fee, $3 driver fee, and then tip on top of that. I ordered bruschetta for an appetizer and an individual pizza with garlic, mushroom, and pepperoni. It said on their website it would take about 50 minutes to an hour, so I made sure to order it as I was leaving a work event. 60 minutes came and went, then 70, so I called the restaurant to check on the order. It turned out the driver had left my meal with the front desk. (This was partially my fault - it turns out cell reception isn't great in my room at this hotel, it turned out the driver DID text me, saying "downstairs with your order," but I didn't receive it until 8:25pm ... I ordered around 6:50pm and the order was supposed to be ready 7:50-8:00pm) Because of this, I didn't get my food until 8:10-8:20 or so, and unfortunately the pizza was barely warm. My hotel thankfully has a microwave so I microwaved it a little bit, but even before that, the crust was kinda soggy, as was the bruschetta - even though I appreciate them putting the tomatoes on the side, so that the whole thing wasn't soggy. All of this with tip was about $36 btw, and if I didn't have a work expense account I'd be even more disappointed than I currently am. They have a full bar with a fair selection of craft & domestic on tap, and bar seating. The cons, they have the most uncomfortable bar stools that you can find. If you are getting the deep dish, they tell you it is a 45min wait, that is worth it but avoid those bar stools. read more

I absolutely love Chicago food, with Chicago style deep dish pizza being a fav of mine... you can't really get it on the East Coast, so when I visit places where there's a Lou Malnati's, I get it! So, when in Indy and seeing there was a Giodano's I wanted to try it to see how it compared to Lou Malnati's. I previously only tried Giodano's in ORD and didn't think the airport version was the right way to try it, so I came here to see what the actual, handmade restaurant was like. Service was very slow, I had to wait a long time before my server came to the table to greet me, once she did, she was very friendly. Also, if you order a pizza, it take about 45 minutes to make, which I understand. I tried a small pepperoni with jalapeños and asked for extra tomato sauce. It did take about 45 minutes to show up at the table and, as you would imagine, it was piping hot. I dug right in, and the "umami" I crave in the Lou Malnati's sauce and crust was totally lacking - which was my first impression. I took a few more bites and loved the thickness and stringiness of the cheese. The bottom crust was good, but the side crust was thick and flavorless. I ate only 3 slices there and took the rest to go. I actually put it in the hotel room's fridge and then flew home with it the next morning to share with my son, who also love Lou Malnati's. He enjoyed this pizza, but I feel that's because he's been craving Lou's so much lately... so have it! Would I return to a Giordano's? Nope... I'll stick with Lou's! read more

They were short staffed. For a small thin crust margarita pizza it took an extremely long time !! once we got it they tell us that they were out of basil. And there was no tomatoes on it. Why would you make just a cheese pizza and not tell us first so if you wanted to change your minds, we so we just got a cheese pizza. It was OK tasting, but I've had better !! Having read that it takes 45 minutes before one of these pies is done baking, we ordered in advance for pickup. Our pie was done at the appointed time, and it smelled Heavenly! When we sat down to eat and dug in, it tasted even better than it smelled - the combination of the spicy Jalapeños and Giordano's legendary butter crust truly hit the spot! We came into the area for a conference and had heard raving reviews about this place, so my wife and I decided to try it. We walked about .5 mile from our hotel, the place wasn't packed which was great. We were seated quickly and service was amazing. We both ordered the specials with the 6" deep dish and salads along with the cheesy garlic bread as an appetizer. The appetizer was nothing but bread with a thin layer of cheese. I took one bite and was like "nope". The dipping sauce was absolutely disgusting. Our main dish was such a disappointment. My 6" pizza was dripping with water and was cold in the center. Here for a work convention and celebrate a previous coworkers birthday over lunch. We found this hidden gem that was a must visit after our delicious discovery in Chicago. They had lunch special of thin crust pizza and I couldn't have been more pleased!. Bathrooms easily found and clean overall. TV's easy to see. Our Server Heather maybe? - fantastic job she did... She did get my next beer & wife's drink refilled lightning quick and sipping away into bliss we went.... We decided on the garlic cheese bread for an appetizer and oh my goodness....best decision ever!!!! It was probably the best I have had in a while. It also came out lightning fast! The order of Thin crust sausage hit the spot! It came with a small salad and overall the portion...well it was huge and delicious. The Pizza we all ordered had great flavor!!! The sauce here is so good! Tangy and sweet tomato sauce that is just bursting with flavor. The deep dish pizza is what we came for, and we also got arancini, mozzarella triangles, and I got a side salad. All good, especially with the sauce to dip it all in. I do have to wonder if the arancini and mozzarella triangles are made here, or if they are shipped in from somewhere else... Slightly underwhelming, but definitely tasty My sister got a gluten free pizza, which was just meh. GF crust is hard to do, and she wasn't impressed quite enough by the sauce to push it past meh. The kids pizza was good enough for the picky 7 year old to demolish it, and plain buttered noodles for the 5 year old so good she ordered a second plate My sangria was nothing special, clearly a premade drink. The sauce is one of the best pizza sauces I've ever had, and I've had a lot of pizza :) The service was fast, just make sure to order a deep dish before you arrive or get some appetizers to hold you over because they warn you it can take 45 minutes to cook a deep dish. The arancini was seriously good, I'll add those to my regular rotation here from now on. The pizza was just as good as I remembered, I am full and happy with the meal. Giordano's is a Chicago deep dish legend that has recently expanded outside of Chicago to other States and a cities. Thai particular one is located in downtown Indianapolis. My family and I was in town for my daughters cheer comp held right down the street in the convention center. I've made trips to chicago just to eat Giodanos and Lou Malanatis pizza before so that made visiting this location a no brainer. Giodanos is my favorite pizza I've ever had. I knew this coming in and it still Holds true after visiting this Indianapolis location. Same great taste and service yoi receive in the original Chicago locations. My parents, nephews and niece were in town with us and never have had Giodanos. They left away feeling like me. Very impressed. We went with my personal Favorite a large cheese, my parents got a meat lovers deep dish. I did try the calamari app for the first time at this location and it was pretty solid. Nice holdover while you have the long deep dish pizza waits (any true chicago deep dish should and will take at least 30 Min of fresh). Overall a great experience with my favorite pizza. The setup inside was spacious and had nice decor and vibes. Super jealous Indianapolis has a Giodanos and a Lou Malanatis and Lousiville has either. Fingers crossed they migrate another two hours south and get Lousiville locations. read more

i have eaten giordano's twice, both ordered online. and each time an item was missing. 1st order: chicken parmesan, calamari & more and tiramisu. chicken parmesan was good, firm chicken nicely prepared the tiramisu was very good on calamari they forgot the house made marinara so the dish was lacking, the calamari itself was ok, -average frozen food distributor fare. 2nd order (today): 10" the special -deep dish, cheesy garlic bread, tiramisu 10"' deep dish "the special" -which it is not, slightly undercooked, dough is average, kind of airy and bland, where's the love? cheesy garlic bread was a average, not from scratch bread and some cheese and they forgot the tiramisu! overall a less than average fare st downtown prices and your luck to get everything you ordered. read more
