I've had the chicken leg quarters, the chicken bowl, the ribs, the hot links, and the corn bread. That cornbread is soooo tasty! Unfortunately, there is little consistency with the food from my experiences. The meat here is pretty tasty, when it's not charred. The chicken bowl is delicious, but half the time I was missing avocado or tomato. Even with the inconsistency, the food and the service always leaves me, for the most part, satisfied and in a food coma. read more

Love this place! After reading other Yelp reviews we figured we would give it a go and boy are we glad we did. We did the family meal which feeds 6 easily and even took some home. The ribs are the best we have had in California, they melt off the bone and the BBQ sauce Mmmmmm good. I dream about the potato salad now. =) We went back a couple weeks later to try their breakfast food and were pleased with that as well. The staff is very friendly and the prices are very reasonable. I was very happy to discover "Gracies", when I moved to Vallejo almost 3 years ago. We go there quite often. But it seems that within the last 4 month's that I've gone there the quality has really gone down from where it was before. The corn bread & cole slaw is still great, just the meat has been really disappointing & its been more than just one time. I hope that thing's will improve & they will go to back to making great BBQ. read more

We ate here 6/7/2015. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Even a Vallejo law enforcement officer came in and said hello to us all and got his food. Knowing law enforcement officers and where they eat says a lot. Give it a try. Parking was ample on Sunday afternoon on the street. read more

The vibe of the place is great~ Huge mason jars for their iced tea. Downside, I think it's the cornbread and butter. My friends were looking for some authentic soul food and this place just didn't cut it. This was my first time at the place. Waiting FOREVER for the bill, for them to pick up the bill, pretty much no refills on the drinks, not sure if the kitchen is to blame for this but Cold toast always(butter has not even tried to melt, cold french toast most of the time,. just the other day a friend ordered the chicken croissant with no avacado and it came with no chicken, another time is was very cold tri-tip. I will reiterate this place is absolutely delicious! and the Owner is an awesome person he has done well cleaning up the neighborhood and gives back to the community. Gracie's is always delicious. I highly recommend the Chicken Leg Quarters with Hot Links. Their BBQ sauce compliments their meat perfectly. To drink I recommend the Southern Sweet Tea or Swamp Juice, free refills! Their prices are very reasonable. The service is usually pretty good and staff is usually very friendly and helpful. Stay away from their sandwiches, they aren't as tasty as their BBQ. They frequently have specials as well, their Macaroni and Cheese and Scallop Potatoes are by far my favorite specials. I would consider myself a regular here. Gotta be one of the best biscuits and gravy dishes in the Bay Area. They scratch bake their biscuits and create a multi meat gravy that is excellent. The crispy breakfast potatoes round it out. My kids are a fan of the pancakes. Just enough corn meal in them to give that old fashioned flavor. Still a fan of the meat salads, but have recently been very pleased with the tri-tip sandwiches on a jalapeno cheddar role. The owners exemplify what is good in Vallejo. Local, involved, offering a solid family style product. Service has improved as has the neighborhood. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but it was sadly overpriced for the quality. Staff was very friendly. BBQ chicken sandwich was bland, beans and rice were undercooked and bland, macaroni salad was so strong on mustard that was all I could taste. My family and I were super hungry after a nice day at Six Flags, so we yelped this bbq place and was pleasantly surprised! We assumed that it would be some sort of hole in the wall, but the seating area was actually really nice. The outdoor seating was very homey and felt like a very urban bbq joint. The only janky part was that in order to get to the bathroom, you have to walk through the kitchen. And I mean, through the kitchen where you see everyone cook and wash dishes. Not to mention that there is only one uni-sex restroom! Anyway, my brother ordered the full order of spare ribs and half order of the tri-tip and chicken. As for the bf and I, we got the full order of spare ribs and chicken and I got the club croissant. The spare ribs were the best thing on the table by far. They were really juicy and broke apart easily. The chicken was the worst, they were dry and lacked any real flavor. As for my club croissant, it was chicken, bacon, tomato, lettuce on a croissant and it was super hearty. For only $10, their sandwich made me sooo full and it comes with a side. We basically shared all our sides which were, buttered green beans, pesto pasta salad, macaroni salad, and potato salad. I have to admit that the pasta salad was the best since all the others became really sickening after a while. And the cornbread wasn't light or fluffy nor hot. So it was just a big blob of carbs on the side. I would definitely come here again now that I know what to order, but the experience itself was just mediocre. read more

I want to start by saying I hadn't been here for YEARS. )... Probably since junior year in high school (I've lived in vallejo for 22 years). I'm not one for big bold BBQ. I'm not a vegetarian, I just dont have the hugest affinity for red meat. This is more my boyfriends type of food... I kept pushing him to try Gracie's because I know everyone in vallejo says it's THEE spot to get comfort food. FINALLY I got him to go!!! He ordered a chili dog, and the flan... I wanted mac n cheese but they didn't have it that day!!!!! I was pretty bummed that is my #1 fav food. So I ordered a small au gratan potatoes instead, and cherry pie. The chili cheese dog was absolutley ridiculous that thing was so big it looked like a heart attack on a plate. My boyfriend loved it. I don't think he was prepared for the heat so we asked for some bread or some milk to cool his mouth off. The waitress was so sweet and gave us a small glass of milk gratis "since she didn't warn us about the spice" we are wussies. He said the flan was good too. The cherry pie was BOMBBBB they had sugar crystals on top NOMNOMNOM..... Potatos au gratan were not great.... but I wasnt really feeling potatoes that day. I prob will try something else next time... Ill tell you what... that free glass of milk got you 2 more lifelong customers.... you guys are awesome and we will definitely be back! Read great reviews so I was excited to dine here. I was so hungry after an all day training so I ordered a cup of chili to feed my hunger before the main course arrives. It arrived at the same time as my baby back ribs dinner. The chili was not even warm, so the heaping of grated cheese on top could not melted. Favor wise, the chili was so so. I don't recommended the room temperature chili with cold grated cheese. The baby back ribs was dried and not flavorful at all. The bbq sauce was mediocre. I liked the corn bread--not too salty nor too sweet. The green beans were okay. I liked the coleslaw with junks of apple. And the southern iced tea? The flavor was a bit weak, and not cold. By the time the iced melted to chill the room temperature tea it dilutes the flavor even more. I don't have a sweet tooth so the sweetness was just right for me. As for the service, they need to do a better job. I ordered the southern iced tea but it never came when everyone in my party had theirs. The same waitress came to take my order for a drink again as if she never took my order. When I asked for a refill, she wanted to confirm if I wanted water. I have always savored Gracie's BBQ but I ate here today and was very disappointed. I will say I went off track and ordered the pulled pork salad bowl. It actually was 80% rice, 10% beans & corn, 8% olives and 2% pork. Very disappointing. I've enjoyed their BBQ many times before and will definitely try the BBQ again.....but not the pork salad. I don't ever pass up a BBQ place without trying it, so I can say that this really is great BBQ. Their meat is slow smoked, tender and properly "red" with great smoky flavor, and the sauce is the right mix of sweet and tangy (although they tend to be a little stingy with it). And here's where we separate the men from the boys; the sides are lovely. Their coleslaw with cranberries, the corn bread, the greens and the rice and beans are authentic. I've had a couple of visit to Gracies now, and find them to be just a tiny bit variable in quality, but I will still drive 40 minutes out of my way to go here when I want the real thing. read more

If you want the best BBQ spot in Vallejo this is the place. The Place is awesome. Plenty of seats. You can sit inside or outside on the patio overlooking Sonoma blvd. traffic and crackheads haha. But really the place is really nice and clean. The Food is delicious. Good portions, and for you who don't eat a lot you might bring some home. Everything is pretty much good but I didn't care for the brisket it's pretty dry. Anyways, you have to get the sweet tea it's delicious. The Customer Service is okay. I love this place. Every time I am home, I just crave half a chicken and ribs and start salivating thinking about eating here. The bbq sauce is probably the best part or the restaurant and I want to take home bottles of the stuff. Being one of the only bbq places that I know of in the area, I always suggest coming here with family and friends because it really captures what a summer afternoon feels like. I am trying to support Vallejo local restaurant but customer service sucks, if a restaurant want a certain clientele they should put a sign is saying who is or who isn't welcome. It is hot if a server is checking on customer checking for refills check everyone. The food taste ok I give it a 6 but with good customer service that 6 could have been a 8! read more

I ate here awhile back after my roommates and I had watched this documentary on the travel channel about bbq's across America. Needless to say we were fiending for some good bbq. We hit up Gracie's and were not dissapointed. At first glance I thought it was expensive but it was worth it. They give you a whole bunch of food, and the taste is nothing less than exquisite. I had the brisket sandwich w/ the sauce and it is down right appetizing. I didn't want to finish it. I need to go back right now! These ladies are experienced with serving people great food in a friendly and relaxed manner - you want to be related to them. Now on to the food - I read some of the lesser reviews here and am completely taken aback. This is really some of the best food that I've ever had in the 707. Damn tasty smoked chicken, tri-tip is delish and the salads are actually out of this world. The baby blue comes with blue cheese, bacon, slices of red pepper and dried cranberries - orgasmic combination. Now to top that all off, they serve me my diet cola in a mason jar. In fact, the whole shady, cool inside is like icing on the cake. Great BBQ and I really appreciate the different sampler platters. I can't go to barbecue and just have one type of meat. They give you options to get 4 different meats for around $30. I typically go with the chicken, hot link, baby back rib and St. Louis style rib. Two things hold me back from giving 5 stars. First, the sides are unremarkable. Second, every time I go and try to get brisket they don't have any. Never have found out if that's just because they sell out of it quickly or if they just don't make it every day. read more

This place is a SOLID JOINT FOR LUNCH! Came here based on yelp reviews. Got the meat lovers salad::: DELISH!! while my customer got a trip tip sandwich. My salad was off the hook!! Tri tip, smoked chicken that was thinly sliced (love it) and bacon with plenty of fixins: avocado, blue cheese, tomatoes and ranch dressing. They pile the sandwiches so high you almost don't need dressing. They serve it with a side of cornbread. This was less than awesome. Almost tasted day old, pretty dense. Ordered a side of beans and rice that were awefully tasty. Would definitely come back when in the area. PS BBQ sauce is perfect for my liking!! (sucha personal thang).
