Spoiler Alert...we highly recommend this company! My Husband and I were suddenly faced with an unforseen disaster, in the quaint older home we had loved and rented for several years. We had to relocate to a hotel and soon found out we would no longer be going back to live in our home of many years. Unfortunately, my Husband had just recently had a hernia surgery and was recovering and I had a procedure as well and was not feeling my best, (waiting on a surgery myself), so we knew we couldn't pull this gigantic move that had to be done in 10 days off by ourselves. Well, although we could not see God's plan, he always has one and we stumbled upon Grace Moving Company and they changed our lives. 4 Angels were sent to us on the first 2 days of the packing and loading and 3 of them were sent back on the 3rd day with a bonus Angel we had not yet met. Seriously, these guys took care of us as if we were their dearest and closest family. They offered words of encouragement and were so professional in how they packed and how quick and strong they were. I had some really special pieces and they assured me they would be wrapped securely and would make it safely to their destination. We laughed and joked but they wouldn't let me lift a finger except to point out what I wanted packed and where I wanted it moved to. We adopted them all into our family and hearts. They were truly heaven sent and they went above and beyond any expectations that we had. This company came through in one of the toughest times of our lives and made everything feel okay, just as they said they would. Grace Moving company provided the price quote in person. Very responsive and prompt. STayed in constant contact. We had several companies come in and give us quotes, and they were all about the same price, but David with Grace really went after our business with enthusiasm, professionalism and intent. He followed right up after the quote to see if we had any questions or concerns. The other companies never followed back up after they sent their quotes. It was Davids level of commitment and attention that made our choice to use Grace. Absolutely easy move from California to Texas. The truck driver (Charlie) arrived right on time on move day. He and his crew got right to work. VERY professional, friendly and attentive workers. When it turned out they didn't have 3 of the wardrobe boxes they needed, the driver got right on the phone with the owner of Grace, and the owner promptly drove the boxes over to our house, AND STAYED TO HELP THEM PACK!! Once the driver left with our belongings, he stayed in touch by phone with us to let us know of his progress (he had several stops between California & Texas). He then delivered our belongings on the day he promised. We had the boxes well marked with the rooms they went in, and the movers put the boxes in the designated rooms, not just piled in the garbage as my last movers did years ago (not Grace Moving last time). Nothing was broken or damaged. And like clockwork, David followed up after the move to see if all went well. WOW, we felt very valued by Grace. I contacted Sally of Grace Moving about a year before I planned to move my dad from Southern California to Northern California. Sally answered my questions and gave me enough information that I could begin making general plans. A year later I contacted Sally again with only a two week lead time to move my dad from his home in Southern California to an assisted living community in Modesto. Sally worked with me every step of the way. She was efficient, polite, helpful, informative, and incredibly understanding. On the day of the big move Edwin and Paul arrived promptly. They were so careful with my dad's belongings and so respectful and polite to both my father and I. We moved on a Friday and agreed to meet on Monday at 8 a.m. After some thought I called Sally and explained that it was hard for my elderly dad to get up and get going early enough to make that deadline. Sally readily agreed to a time change and we set it for 9:30. Edwin and Paul appeared at 9:30 and moved in my dad's things. Edwin made several good suggestions about placement of some of my dad's furniture so that he would have easier access to the emergency pull cords. They even insisted on emptying my car and carrying in the miscellaneous things that I had had to bring separately. That was certainly not a part of their agreed upon duties but I was so appreciative. I would strongly, strongly recommend Grace Moving Company for any move. Their ethics, care, concern, and professionalism are all evident from first contact to last. Grace Moving handled my most stressful move yet, with a professionalism that "saved the day." My East Bay Calif. home had been sold in a short-sale, and the closing date came up sooner than expected. I was solely responsible for packing up our 3 bedroom plus a loft, 2.5 bath, 2-story home which my husband and 2 children and I had occupied for 12 years. Five years ago, my husband had become disabled, the children (and my husband, from whom I am separated), had already moved out and were unavailable to be physically present, and I was left with massive amounts of property and details to deal with, including belongings of a deceased friend for whose estate I had been executor. After the truck left my home, the movers then had to make 5 "drops" to different locales in So. Calif., battling heavy traffic much of the time. Grace's two guys handled all the details efficiently and took good care of our belongings. Our wishes and feelings were respected always. They were warm, cheerful, easy to work and communicate with, and knew how to keep everyone calm and happy with their patience and great sense of humor! I chose Grace based upon the following: a recommendation given me by the couple who were buying our home, the information I read on the website, internet reviews, the reasonable quote I received, and last but not least, the way I was consistently treated on the phone by Sally, one of the owners of the business. I have thirty years' experience in the moving industry and, in my younger days, I did everything from surveying/estimating to packing to whatever it took to provide the best customer service I could. When I retired, I was the CEO of a large international mover. I KNOW MOVING!! Because I didn't know Grace Moving, I was aware of how things should be done. I watched carefully, evaluated the three men who would perform the job, and quickly realized that these guys knew what they were doing. Being a mover is not just "humping furniture"....it's a serious skill to know how to pack, how to carry and especially how to load a truck not only for the safety of the goods but to understand the load in order to keep it from shifting and thus, protect it. Richard, as the leadman, along with his co-workers, Billy and Brandon all had those skills. And they handled the move with proficiency, hard work in 90+ degree weather, with no complaints...only smiles and courtesy. They barely took a break and, at the end of a ten plus hour day, they left me with a smile, a thank you, and an absolutely perfect move to my new home with not a single thing damaged. I have never used a moving company before as all my moves I've managed by myself. This year the Lord decided to move me and right in the middle of the back to back winter snow storms so all my ability to get this move done was out the window since my move out date was fast approaching. My sister found grace moving company and sent me the information so I decided to reach out and they set a time for John to come out and do a walk through and give me an estimate on 3/8/23. He was very professional and had great customer service and answered my questions and a couple days later got my move on the books. 3/18/23 today was the day the movers showed up and they were on time and super friendly. They were very careful in wrapping my furniture in moving blankets as well as took great care in moving my packed bins and getting it into the moving truck. They worked very efficiently and with such care and their great attitudes made my morning. I have to say a very huge thank you for such a great experience and a huge thank you to Vincent, Turk, Edgar and Adrian who was the crew that was sent to me. From the start the Estimator showed up on time, always a plus. We were moving our things out of storage to our home, she had tuff job on her hands, it's hard to estimate a stuffed and I mean stuffed storage Building. So she explained how we could be charged due to the difficult estimate circumstances, and I thought it was a great idea. So when the movers showed up, by the way they were on time, they wasted no time getting started, and from the first they were so caring of the furniture it was like they were moving their own things. When they arrived at our home they would ask which room does this go in and put them there. They, all 4 of them were cheerful the whole day, while I, having a broken leg couldn't help much I just pretty much watched and talked to the guys. Just very nice to work with, and I'll be passing out business cards for them as soon as they arrive. We've had the misfortune of working with other Movers, the ones that put the Furniture into the storage, I wish we would have had Grace Movers do it all. Not only did it cost me a little less to get it to the House than it cost me to get it to the Storage, but they didn't break anything as the first movers did, terrible. read more

Sally came out when she said she would and gave me an estimate that was spot on. She took all the worry out of the fact that I didn't have much time to get things done...what a blessing! Richard and Johnny were kind, efficient, compassionate and fun. They turned what could have been an awful experience into a relaxing one. I'm so grateful to them for all that they did. I had to pack up and move an entire house for a client of mine (I'm a private care provider) who broke his hip just after his house sold. He was in the hospital and convalescent home for about 10 weeks, so I had to pack and arrange everything while working full time for other clients. I was really stressed about accomplishing all that needed to be done..especially the packing...how do you pack up someone's else's life? Well, Grace Moving Company made it easy......they took all the pressure off. Whatever I didn't get packed, Richard and Johnny got it done. They made me feel like I was doing them the favor. My father recently passed away and we needed to move his things from Elk Grove to Modesto. My phone call to Grace Moving was most impressive. I not only had a warm voice on the other end of my call (Sally) but I also got a heartfelt sympathy from her regarding my dad. The movers where quick, careful, sensitive to the sentimental value of my dads things and over all a pure pleasure to work with. My dad had tons of fragile items and they were packed with the utmost care. When they delivered the itmes to our house, I asked if they could come in the house and move some heavy items that I needed to put in storage as well. Without question and with a willingness to serve, the men took care of the little extras that we needed to put closure to a difficult time. I would recommend Grace Moving to anyone who needs this type of service. I will even go so far as to say that if I was offered a better deal on my next move,(I highly doubt that there is a better value out there) I would still choose Grace Moving because their service and sensitivity is unmatched. I have never written a Yelp review but becuse of the kindess and generosity of this company, they deserve recognition. The night before moving I found out one of my friends forgot and the other didn't respond. I had no idea what I was going to do because Saturday was the only day I was able to move and I didn't know if I could afford a moving company because I had to pay rent at both places for the last 2 weeks. I called a couple moving companies but only got voicemail. Sally from Grace called me back and I told her about my situation. She gave me the quote which I could not afford. I was so upset and started to cry and told her thank you but I'm not in a position to hire her. She texted me back and said she felt for me and offered to help at a discounted rate. What an amazing person to help out a complete stranger at the last minute. I will never forget her kindness. On top of that, the 2 guys she sent over were so helpful and funny. I couldn't be happier with the service overall from Grace Moving. They checked in with me multiple times regarding moving day (which I did have to change three times due to changes in closing dates). The quote was very thorough and set a ceiling on price but also provided a contingency to possibly save money (I managed to save over $500, because I had staged and packed like 90 percent of everything in the house we planned on them moving for us, so they could pick up and go. The four man crew that came in were extremely professional, didn't complain, and legitimately seemed to really enjoy the work. It was kind of amazing to watch how fast they worked. I mean crazy fast. I was quoted for a ten hour move and they got it done in less then 7. They were careful, wrapped and taped whatever they needed to and didn't waste anytime. I moved from Los Angeles to Groveland and hired Affordable Movers for - you guessed it, a lower rate. I saw the great reviews for Grace, but with our tight budget made the decision to go with Affordable. We drove through the night with our moving truck, only to be cancelled on by Affordable when I called to confirm they were en-route, after missing their arrival time. Their drivers didn't come back the day prior as scheduled, and the company was not terribly concerned with getting anyone else out, to help us unload all our belongings, trapped in a 26 foot truck. I reached out to Grace and immediately experienced the opposite in terms of customer service. They were kind, attentive and they sent John and Johnny out the next morning. They arrived early, had positive and friendly demeanors as they efficiently unloaded the whole truck in under three hours. Next time we move - we'll make the budget work to have Grace Movers from the get go. Thank you for taking great care of us! read more

In mid-December, 2014 we moved from CA to OR during the holidays and horrid weather. We contracted with Grace Moving Company from Modesto over an hour away from our home. We have moved homes five times in the past 30 years. This move was superior to any we have experienced. The owners, Patrick & Sally could not have been more professional , accommodating, or considerate. Their rates were the most reasonable we found. Their movers, Henry, issac & Paul were such hard workers. They were quick but very careful. Nothing was broken or damaged. As we were downsizing, I was worried about fitting some of the larger, heavier items into the new house. The men were able to negotiate such tight corners & narrow hallways, without a scratch, I was amazed. I cannot thank Grace Moving enough for reducing our stress & getting our possessions here safely.
