We've hired M&M Movers twice now to take care of our short moves and they've done an excellent job both times. Once a few years ago and once more earlier this year. Both times the team arrived with their truck on schedule and communicated well all throughout the process. They took time to make sure all furniture was wrapped and adequately protected, and their office also called in to check up as well. I will say this time there was some damage on some of the wheels of a clothing rack but it was in a pretty fragile state to begin with so it isn't a big deal at all. All in all the company is top notch and we will definitely reach out again for our moving needs. read more

I initially chose this company because their over-the-phone quoting process seemed straightforward and easy to understand. I requested a written quote before moving forward but never received one. I am posting this review as a last resort. About a month ago, I was told the company would address my concerns and make the situation right, but I never received any follow-up. I hired them to pack my home and stage my belongings for a truck transfer because my home closing was delayed by one day. As the process unfolded, I became increasingly concerned that costs were being inflated through excessive labor and packing materials. For example, an entire day was spent packing a relatively small 10' x 15' kitchen, yet after the move was completed, items were still found in lower cabinets that should have been packed. Many large boxes contained excessive amounts of packing paper, with very few actual items inside. Tool bags that were needed during the move were packed away, making them inaccessible. One smaller Husky bag containing specialty tools was never recovered and remains missing. On moving day, the crew completely disassembled a bed frame down to the individual slats rather than keeping the frame largely intact. I was assured everything would be fully reassembled at the destination. Instead, after unloading the truck into my garage, the movers left, explaining they were running late for another job. I was forced to hire an additional team to complete the move and reassemble furniture. At the end of each day, I received bills that seemed to increase unexpectedly, accompanied by arbitrary discounts that appeared to have no connection to an actual written estimate or quote. My experience was stressful, expensive, and frustrating. If you are comfortable taking a chance on what your final bill may be and whether the job will be completed as promised, this company may work for you. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. This move became a nightmare, and I would not recommend this company based on my experience. read more

They arrived on time and were kind, courteous, polite, and professional throughout the entire process. They loaded all of my prepacked boxes and furniture with care, and nothing was damaged. When they got to my new house, they set everything up, which was a huge help. The only issues I had were that my Sleep Number bed was not set up properly, so I had to take it apart and reassemble it after they left, and they did not wear booties in my master bedroom, which left my carpet stains. They also put some of the shrink wrap in my neighbor's trash by mistake, which caused an issue and I had to remove it myself. Other than those problems, everything went well. Movers were booked for 8am. At 7:30 we received a call that the driver had an injury and we were going to need to wait for a different crew until 1pm. We were compensated with more movers which was nice. At 12pm we were told they would now be there between 2:30 and 3pm. At 2pm we attempted to call to confirm and all phones were shut off and we could not reach anyone. My husband waited at the apartment until 3:30 and they were a no show. We received a call at 3:45 saying that they would be at least another hour. Exceeded expectations. I needed two oversized sofas loaded onto a U-Haul and reached out via Yelp for quotes. M&M responded and communicated timely as we worked through the scheduling. We used M&M movers for our move from Tracy to Morgan Hill. Simply an awesome experience. JR came home to take a look at what we were moving to give an accurate estimate which was what we wanted. On packing day Sergio, Brandon, Juvy and Roberto came on time sharp 8am. Very impressed with how nicely they packed and labeled everything and very respectful of our property and stuff. The next day was the actual move and once again all of them came back at 8am, only instead of Roberto, Isaac accompanied them. Once again they did an awesome job loading the truck and then the actual drive. Once in Morgan Hill they unloaded everything put them where we wanted the boxes and assembled all the beds, sofas etc and set up everything. Really happy with their service. They were happy to accommodate my needs for packing, loading into 2 PODs. Friendly fellows that knew the job; and took care of my valuables. They were so good, I had them travel 70 miles to unload both PODs into my new residence and they set up all the furniture for me. I had approximently 80 boxes for them to unload. Since Caesar was the only one that spoke English well it may have caused some problems to where my boxes were not moved to the rooms that they belonged in. There are several that I'm trying to find; I know they are here but I just don't know where. That is the only reason why they got four stars instead of five. Overall these young men did a very good job and I would highly recommend them to anyone that has to go through the problem of moving to another city. By the way Caesar is a really great guy to be around and he is superb at what he does.. The owners of this company are lucky to have such a competent worker in Caesar. read more

After getting quotes up to $1800 to move an already packed 10x10 unit, I decided to try one more option, M&M. One might say I saved the best for last, others say the last place you look is usually where you find what you're needing lol but in all seriousness don't be me and stress yourself out, call M&M first. JR gave me options and in the end I feel like not only did they move my storage but they removed the anxiety I was beginning to feel weighing me down. These guys are the greatest! I had M&M move me from Tracy to Livermore. My stuff amounted to about a 1-Bedroom apartment. Arranging and booking was really easy. On move day, the guys and truck arrived a few minutes early and they got right to work. I mean, they HUSTLED. They took really good care of the furniture, wrapping everything, and even took extra good care of a pair of tall, thin display cases that were glass on all four sides - blankets, shrink wrap, the works. Everything arrived in perfect condition. At the destination, they quickly and carefully unloaded everything, even taking an inside door off and replacing it to get a desk into the room. They finished on time with no extra fees. I paid exactly what I was quoted and was happy to do so, as their original quote was very fair. Don't hesitate. The movers themselves did an amazing job. Prior to booking, JR was very responsive and offered a reasonable rate. Unfortunately, there was a discrepancy with the final charge and no response since then. Today, JR kept saying he would call back and mentioned how he didn't receive the texts where I broke down the hours and rates we discussed. I made sure that I continued from the same thread we used prior, and he was even answering my calls from that phone number. Therefore, I am not sure how honest he is at this point. The only mistake was in the hours worked. I am stating 4.5 hours while he charged 5.5 hours. That said, I do think they would have had a fair rate if the hours were calculated correctly. And, I really don't want to take away from the fact that the crew themselves did amazing. Very respectful, efficient, and considerate. With that said, I am open to changing my review because the movers themselves are 5 star quality. The one star is a matter of principle and JR not communicating when trying to follow up. Update: JR called back to discuss the miscommunication. As mentioned originally, the actual performance and service was amazing. I see where we had a misunderstanding and appreciate his willingness to work with me. read more

They took one day to pack and another day to load, move and deliver our four-bedroom household from the Lodi area to San Luis Obispo (then drive back to their home in Manteca). Such a long day and so much hard work, but they always kept even tempered and courteous. Then when everything wouldn't fit on the big truck. JR himself stepped in, managed to get more of our stuff strapped onto the moving van and put the leftovers in his own pickup. The he drove the pickup himself to SLO to complete our move. These guys hustle. Like really hustle. Polite and really hard workers. We got a few quotes from the Yelp feature and wrote down our top 3 based on price, response, and reviews. Spoke with JR and he was down to earth & straight forward. His quote was $220/hr for 4 guys and truck and materials included. He suggested doing a walk through because he could give us an estimate but also a price cap (in case the time actually needed went over). His estimate was fair and he even gave us a heads up of how to pack things and how to best organize it for the guys to be efficient. We got to packing the days before and the day the movers got there, they went right to work. They moved quickly loading up the truck. We have a *ton* of stuff and our only saving grace was that it was a move to a nearby house. In the 104 degree weather, they stayed working hard and did 2 truck loads/unloads within 8.5hrs. Very impressed with the guys and JR. They worked within our budget and really seemed like they wanted to help 2 parents with a toddler way in over their heads in this move. Great guys and have already passed along their info to our old landlords and 4 neighbors. Moving sucks but at least you know it's feasible and more manageable with these guys around. read more
