We then were not sure about the destination unload Faye so we called back with questions and apologized for calling again bur he said he was there to help us which was so nice to hear that we were not a pain. I moved from CA to NC. UPack was the most cost effective solution. Cheaper than everyone. The drivers who dropped the trailers were incredibly helpful. Back office staff was terrific. I really liked the flexibility to use my estimated amount of space (17') or the whole trailer (28'). I used 14' so UPack reduced the estimated cost. I arranged my own labor. Upack is very reasonably priced especially moving out of state. If you go the cheaper route with upack do not use the moving staff. It was a nightmare loading and unloading boxes. They did not secure the truck with the tie offs and straps. They were more worried about clock watching. Had dollies and 4 people. Only one used it while the others stood watching. When I had the unloaders they just threw my boxes regardless if it says fragile in my garage. Boxes were falling over, my bookshelf got damaged. My move was from Ca. to Mo. It was expensive, but less than the other options. The system itself was smooth: the trailer was delivered on time and was picked up promptly. To make this a positive experience, you have to do your part. Pack well, have everything ready to load and give some forethought to how you will fit it in the space you want to use. Don't plan on a hard delivery date. Be prepared to wait for your property to arrive, especially in winter. I believe my load was delayed 3 or 4 days. The drivers, on both ends, were very helpful. I had contacted multiple moving companies. Didn't really know who to go with. Heard many horror stories about people getting ripped off and others losing people stuff. But ABF had good reviews I knew two people who used them to move out of state. So I went that route. I loved that they dropped it off a day early at no extra costs since we packed it ourselves. Thought we'd only need half the truck based on what other moving companies suggested would be the cubic feet we would need but we ended up using the whole truck for half of some of the quotes I got from those other companies. The driver who dropped off the trailer was friendly and informative. I liked the app being able to track where it was on the route to the final destination. Really only a few glasses where broken but making that 2400 mile trek that's not bad at all. So for the price, the transparency, and the honesty of this company I wouldn't move with anyone else. It didn't break the bank the only thing is we packed half ourselves and paid movers to load the big heavy furniture but the $300 it cost on the side for that was worth it. read more

I don't write many reviews but this company is well worth it. Found u-pack on a "leaving California" Facebook page, and due to the high demand, we were only able to get the Relo-cubes, which at first I wasn't sure about. Sure enough, we were able to pack up our 1200 sq ft home into 4 cubes, (garage included!). The man that delivered them was very helpful and was willing to do whatever was needed to make our packing and loading go smoothly. While cubes were in transit, I spoke to both Audrey and Rita frequently, Audrey in the beginning and Rita towards the end and they were both AMAZING. You can tell they care about their customers, especially when you're moving across the country and already SO STRESSED, both ladies went above and beyond in my opinion. Now when we got to our destination and were ready for delivery, the pods came first thing in the morning, and again, the delivery driver was just so great and helpful. We have three other families making this cross country move with us and due to our great experience with u-pack, they will be using them as well. Not one item was damaged in transit, however, we were too scared to put our nice TVs in there even though we bought the moving boxes for them, we decided to take them with us on our drive. 5 stars for customer service, 5 stars for the whole process. read more

The drop off was a little frustrating because I had a 4 hour window and I called the morning off and they narrowed it down to a 2 hour window. I recently moved out of the state of California. I located this company and decided to hire them, due to the price. We discussed what I had to move over the phone, and quoted me an amount. They were pretty good at that. Once everything was packed, I called them and they picked up the trailer and delivered to my new address within 4 business days! Everything made it. The driver was also very helpful as to where to drop the trailer off. The company was very quick to pick up the trailer once it was empty as well. Everyone working for the company was very polite. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and delivered the trailer when they promised. Once we filled it, I called them to pick it up and, again were there when they said. We used this service on the recommendation of two of our kids who had used them previously. Also, we had priced out a full-service moving company and decided this was a much better, more affordable option for people like us who can get together a group of people to help load and unload. There were no hidden fees, and our move ended up costing exactly what we expected. The people were easy to deal with and friendly, and the company that they used for last-mile delivery was also very friendly and helpful. The four-star rating is because the last-mile company mixed up the trailers at the end, and delivered the wrong one to us. This was on a Friday. But they did their best to make it right and got us our trailer by Monday. As a result of the mixup, U-Pack refunded us almost 10% of the price. read more

Everything went smoothly. Communication with with company and drivers were easily available. Everyone was polite and answered any questions that we had. We reserved a 26' truck which was quoted in our price range. Only used 21' of the truck so the price was adjusted accordingly. They called an hour before drop off and pick up. The only minute thing was the origin driver didn't wear a mask when we had to sign the paperwork. We loved that you can track the shipment on our phone. Having traveled some 2800 miles or thereabouts to move here, I'm having some concerns about the destination side of things. I moved from a house, where I could easily locate the containers in my driveway. On this end, I'm in an apartment complex. To make matters more complicated, ABF only delivers full containers in the afternoon. I contracted with Moving Staffers to help me on Thursday--tomorrow. The problem is that I can't, in the name of sense, take two parking spaces. Where would people park on the street overnight? Taking one is bad enough. Manteca seems to be short on parking anyway. So, ABF worked with me to stagger the delivery. I'm getting one of the containers today. Hopefully, it will be unloaded (with help!) by the time the second container arrives on Thursday, so I'll still only be taking one spot. Still, Moving Staffers will be getting the same amount of money for only half the work--and I'll be paying for my extra help to unload the first container. Ugggh. You'd think that delivery could happen in the morning, Moving Staffers could arrive in the afternoon, unload both containers, and they could be removed--oh, wait, the next day. I guess that wouldn't work either. Apartment living is difficult. I was told by the corporate office that each location is allowed to set their schedules independently, as needed. This wasn't bad, but it wasn't incredibly good either. I had a good experience from PODS in the past but someone told me that their own experience ended with a lot of their belongings damaged by excessive heat. In my case, a few things showed warping plastic but most things seem to have survived well. read more

They are the best. On time easy to work with. Very cost effective. We moved from Ca to Texas UPack was by far cheaper then renting a couple of large trucks and driving them yourself. They give you 3 days on each end to load and unload 5 if yo count drop off and pick up days. If you need an extra day they will work with you. p.s. Weekends don't count as days. Also outdoor furniture and oddball bbq and such last after bulkhead. The whole trailer worked for us. I had to give them a 5 star because their service is fabulous. There is one thing that I experienced that was not so good though. Their truck was very dirty with some sort of soot. So after moving cross country I had to go rent a machine to clean my brand new rugs... That was not great. But the service was excellent and the folks were super friendly and accommodating. Day before the trailer was supposed to be delivered I was told it hadn't even left the original port. When I asked why I was told something different by three employees I was told to read the contract. I told the rep that I know what the contract says, however, I was told by 3 different employees about an arrival time which I was then working with as far as arranging help. He told me he can't control what the employees told me. I was moving out of state and the trailer sat for 4 days at the point of origin. Upack was comparable in price to renting a U-haul which would have involved paying a ton of money for gas, driving myself and stressing out on the mountain passes, and then having to unload everything at storage facility, then move it again. Plus the trailer actually held all of our stuff, we would have had to leave a ton behind even with the largest U-haul truck. Upack was efficient, affordable, and their customer service was great. I didn't know anything about Upack until I did a bit more research into our moving plans. The POD system was expensive, hiring a U-Haul truck was really expensive, and then I found Upack. It went very smoothly, the drivers were very helpful, and the dispatch people also were quick to communicate and respond to phone calls. I would use them again. The only difficult and challenging thing is the pitch of the ramp, which Is long. Heavier items can be a challenge to get up the ramp. If you have experienced and strong movers helping you, it should not be a problem. read more

U pack was the easiest and was able to do what we needed....we packed it and they shipped cross country to a storage area where we unloaded. We moved from California to Georgia. I had researched a few different moving options Pods, Mayflower, and Penske. Each one had pros and cons. What I really liked about U-pack is I only gave them a few weeks notice and they accommodated me. Their customer service was top notch, I had all my questions answered by each person I spoke too. Pricing was spot on, no hidden fees and you don't have to pay anything upfront. They drop a trailer in front of your house and you have it for 3 days. You load your stuff and call them when it's ready to be picked up. You can track it online and then when it arrives you have three days to unload it. The trucks even come with a ramp making it easy to load and I load. I would move with u-pack again. read more
