Used two times...once for my move and then I became a repeat customer when I called them to move my elderly parents. My move was out of a 2-story and they really hustled up and down the stairs. We had a sofa/loveseat in the den, a sofa/loveseat in the formal front room and a sofa/chairs in an upstairs entertainment loft. It was a lot of work! I didn't feel once like they were dragging their feet. At the new place they put all large furniture exactly where requested and even hooked up the ice maker to the water line and situated the washer and got the dryer connected to the vent. First of all Brian I did not demean, curse, or yell at your staff. I did, however yell and curse at you after you started to yell at me. We have been waiting patiently for a week to get some sort of response from you. My safe does not have a scratch, it is gouged. You keep telling us that the couch is against the wall, so no one will see the hole. Guess what, I see the hole. You say the safe still works, I just has a little scratch in it. When the scratch goes to the metal below, it becomes a gouge. I am really disappointed in you for not doing the right thing in either repairing my damaged items, replacing them, or compensating me for them. Motivated-Movers did a fantastic job for us with our move. We called Brian on a Monday and the only day he had available was the following day. He came right over that Monday afternoon to give us his estimate and recommendation and we set everything up for the following morning. He bid me for four movers at a set rate per hour and showed up the following day with the 4 guys and himself making 5! The price was the same and he and his guys worked their tails off getting us moved. Everything was done carefully and in a professional manner. Beware of false advertising!!! The rates on their website do not reflect the quote that I was given. On their website, it states that they charge $1 per mile when hiring 3 movers. I was quoted $75 for travel time, even though I am moving less than a mile from my current home! So, I contacted Brian to ask about the price difference and he said that I am being charged for their drive from their business' location in Turlock, round trip for my actual move, and then the drive back to their business in Turlock. In California, the California Public Utilities Commission requires all movers to charge "double drive time" on hourly rated moves, which means they can only charge you double whatever time it takes for your ACTUAL move. By law, they cannot charge you for the time from their business' start location to your house and back. Even after sharing this legal information with Brian, he was adamant that he was providing a great deal! What?!?!? It's the LAW, Brian!! I will definitely NOT be doing business with this unscrupulous company. Movers Beware! read more

For the actual moving furniture the team did pretty good. They were quick and we're working their butts off. However, they showed up 4 hours late without a phone call and multiple phone calls from my end to bug them. They dented the dryer, refrigerator and a bookcase and wouldn't answer for phone (no voicemail) or respond to the email I sent requesting to fix these things. read more

I have never used movers. I would highly recommend Motivated movers. Ryan, David, and big John were very professional and friendly. They moved my house in 2 hours. I moved locally went from a 2 bedroom 2 bath house to a 1 bedroom 1 bath house. They went above and beyond to help me. They called about a hour before they came and said they had an extra mover for 20 more an hour I said ok. It cost 30 less an hour than 2 men and a truck with 3 movers. Thanks guys read more

However, they lost screws, broke parts, and required help on my part. If you have a small load, they will do. I was extremely dissatisfied with this company, Motivated Movers as a whole for several reasons. Firstly, I labelled every single room in bold signs, so that everything that came out of that room could be found. Not only did they fail to label about 100 + boxes, but they went from room to room mixing things adding smaller things to existing boxes from another room. What a nightmare! Two weeks later and I can't find a thing. No, they DONT unpack your things, as the website suggests. They cram boxes in your new house as fast as they can to get out of there. The biggest complaint I have is the total underestimation of truck space needed, despite the fact I had someone come do a total estimate ahead of time. That " estimate" wasn't even close to the amount of space needed. This move cost more than $6,000, and I even had to rent a Penske truck myself at an additional $1500 to have extra truck space. Even at that , I omitted two whole rooms of furniture that would not fit and gave the furniture away! The movers were so short on truck space from mis- estimating, they had to leave thousands of dollars in valuable automotive , outdoor, camping and other things, that just wouldn't fit. I was furious! They left our old house in a total mess. I had to sign contracts that do not hold Motivated Movers responsible for broken and damaged items- I see why!!! Stainless steel kitchen trash cans dented beyond repair, broken furniture, collapsed boxes, fabric cubes stacked and wrapped and all have to be replaced. The only positive I can say is that they were courteous. It was extremely apparent that they were held to a rigid schedule that was way tighter than was discuss ahead of time. Several of the " Packers" left early due to family kids ballgames or something, so they were deficient on time the next day and just started throwing things in boxes as quickly as possible. I heard them say " the boss says we have to be finished in two hours". They were late arriving, saying they had something else scheduled to do first . All in all, it showed that the company was much more interested in cramming everything into a tight schedule making money, than they were concerned about taking care of customer satisfaction. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone, unless you don't care what of yours they leave behind , what mess they leave, and what possessions are broken. Also if you want to have a total confusion trying to identify what might be in the boxes and where they go, this is the " professional" job you will get. read more

Not a great experience. 3 guys showed up on time (was told there would be 4) and they brought nice truck, pads, dollies, etc. But total amateurs who packed poorly, broke stuff, and made re-work of several things in order to add more time to the bill. I have moved a lot in my life, and know 3 strong motivated movers should have done everything I needed in their 3 hour minimum. I dismissed them at about 4.5 hours when there was about half a load to finish up. Just too expensive for the careless approach to packing. Tyler appeared to supervise and strategize for more time. Jaime was actually great - would use him again but not with current employer. Jacob worked hard too. All were nice guys. Just amateur movers. Maybe I should have expected that. $165/HR with 3 hour minimum isn't out of line for professional local movers. But that was quote for 4 guys (not the 3 who showed up), and they were only about 2/3 done after almost 5 hours. I only had them move the big stuff. Did the small stuff ourselves. Update 7.11.16 Downgraded and would give zero stars if that was possible. Now that I'm all moved in, I am appalled at how much damage these guys did to my furniture. Scratches galore. More disturbing was the completely broken bookshelf (1 of a matching pair) that I had to trash. Huge chunk taken out of my Bassett entertainment center. Nasty scratches on the front of my nearly new dryer where they really show. The list goes on... Will post pics if I can remember. Do NOT use Tyler! read more

I am highly disappointed with their service. They were unprofessional they caused damage to my home and my furniture and I will never use them again. They even asked my 16 year old son to help them on numerous occasions. I was charged for the 4 hour minimum, they were not even here for the 4 hours and still left things incomplete. When I called to complain I was offered a handyman to come and fix their mistakes. They even stated they knew they dropped the ball. Why would I have them come and fix things, when they couldn't even remove the front door off the hinges. They showed up not prepared with proper tools or equipment.
