Placed my items in public storage for three months, the last month the price went up. Upon picking…read moreup my items, my things were covered with rat pee and poop. After moving my items out, I was charged the following month due to me not properly "moving out" by not taking the lock (public storage lock- not usable or useful to me). Payment was non negotiable and had to be paid even though items were moved out before. When i explained my situation, the office clerk did nothing but mentioned collections and my credit being affected if not paid. I ended up paying another months payment along with the late fee. Of the items I retrieved from the storage, 70% percent had to be thrown away. These were my actual, priceless items. They're irreplaceable. Due to me not having insurance, nothing was covered and so I'm just without. The reason why I did not get insurance this time was because I previously had my items stored and the same thing happened and insurance didn't do anything about it. I transferred storage places and another time I had my unit broken into and insurance/police were intolerable (even though I was calm and patient during the whole ordeal). Upon moving back to this location, I'm already dealing with a lot of things and this put a damper on my life. The photos don't do justice as to what I had to deal with at this location.

We came here in a bind because we were down to the wire to move with no prospects . We came here…read morebecause the online rate was GREAT! I rented online, which was incredibly easy. When I saw our unit I realized it was entirely to small for our needs, so I went into the office to speak with Hayleigh. She went above and beyond to upgrade me to a bigger size and only pay the difference. She was incredibly helpful and so fun to talk with. She had a great personality and was super understanding and kind. When it came time for our neighbor to look for storage, I IMMEDIATELY recommended this place and how easy it was to rent online. I love that the gates are open until 10 p.m. because we work long hours and don't get home til 6 or 7 pm. Units are clean as well as the lot and the halls. Well lit in the night as well. I also LOVE that Hayleigh checks the dumpsters before locking them just to make sure no little fur babies get trapped inside. This company definitely needs to reward Miss Hayleigh for her representation of the company. Not many people today are personable, professional and understanding but 12/10 to Miss Hayleigh.

Secure storage facility!…read more My family was drawn to Derrel's Mini Storage because of their "Buy 6 months, get 6 months free" deal. Although their rates are definitely pricey, it is worth it for the added security. Every renter gets a personal code to use at the gate when entering the facility. Once you enter this unique code, it disarms the alarm system of your unit. If you fail to enter the code and your unit is opened, the alarm will trigger in the main office that is always staffed with someone watching the multitude of cameras around the facility. The units themselves are also very secure, with a chain pull, latch, and padlock. You have the option of buying a lock from them or brining your own. Regardless, I recommend a cut-proof lock for added security. When you leave, you enter your code again at the gate and it rearms your unit. The units themselves are very nice. There are a huge selection of size options. They are very clean and have pest management in place. In each unit and around the facility there are rat poison stations. They specified these are in place for prevention rather than treatment. The units also have a good structural quality. The wood is not rotted out, there are no leaks, no cobwebs or signs of pests, and no stains on the concrete slab. It seems like the temperature and humidity is well-maintained throughout too. The unit we selected did not feel overly humid or dry. I also appreciate the added chain to keep the garage doors held open when you're in the unit. I feel confident storing my belongings here!
