Customer Service needs improvement as well as professionalism. The rental fees are outrageous and there are increases every 6 months. Specifically was told by the current manager that everywhere will increase their rates every 6 months but MANY local locations within the same city limits lock you in for a year. Luckily I was able to get MORE space to store my things at half the price than I was paying at MVMS. When I called and spoke to the manager about this increase in the beginning of May, she was very snarky with me and said, "well they will get you in at a good rate and maybe you get locked in for a year, but what happens after the year?" I can see where she would think this because that is how the new "company policy" works at Storage Pro. However, this is not common practice jut because Storage Pro chooses to do business this way. This also wasn't how the location was run before Storage Pro took over. I am POSITIVE that this is why so many units are empty. I have gone every weekend and some days during the week to work on moving out of my units and every time I am there, there's another customer with a uhaul emptying out their unit. I have had the opportunity to speak to a few of them and each person said they were getting out and moving to a new facility due to the increases. In addition to other customers, I had to rent Uhauls from 2 different locations in Turlock. BOTH locations told me when I picked up the trucks that I was NoT the first person to tell them they had to move locations due to the increases in rent at their current location. The management, nor office staff treat their customers the same way as we were treated from the previous management before "Big Business" took it over. I understand that changes will occur and that's expected, but these changes were so over the top. I am happy that I was able to secure spots in a much more friendly and workable environment from 2 different locations in Turlock and will no longer need to rent at Monta Vista Mini Storage. Unfortunately, these were not our only issues with this location. The District Manager also does not return phone calls. I had one message to them through the call center 4 weeks ago when the new issues began. I was told that they would return my call within 48 hours and they did not. 2 days later I had to go into the office to resolve an issue resulting from a mistake the manager made, and asked the manager to please send a message for the DM to call me and he did not again within 48 hours. I again mentioned it to the manager 3 days ago and still have not gotten a call from him. Today I called and was assured that he would call me within ONE HOUR and he has not returned my call. It is very apparent that no one in the management team cares about resolving my concerns. I guess it's time for me to go above the DM, or maybe the BBB? Do better Monta Vista. Your future customers are deserving, just as much as those of us who left. If I could give this review ZERO stars I would. read more

I will have to disagree with Kay Y's previous review. I've dealt with this business for years, I've NEVER seen a rodent of any kind, NO MICE, NO RATS, NOTHING OF THE KIND. The units are always well maintained, I've never had a complaint of any kind. The customer service is stellar. I'm always met with a smile and friendly personality by all staff members. The fact that the previous review is the ONLY review made by said user, it comes across as someone with a personal and petty vendetta. I would recommend this business to any and all in need of a storage facility, even just to purchase moving supplies, this would be the place to go. read more

MICE...MICE...RAT...RAT... That's all I think when I think about monte vista storage. MICE got into my appliance that I stored there. When I told the management, they said:"PER OUR CONTRACT, IT'S NOT OUR PROBLEM"; I sent them an email with the picture of mice feces and parasites that the maintenance person had found. The Mice had spread their feces and disease that I was having trouble finding someone to take a look at my refrigerator because I was being told it's poison and they don't want to get close to it. I had to pay double the fee to have the maintenance clean the refrigerator. My entire household was stored there and I had to get rid of my mattress and some fabric furniture. My household was stored in monte vista storage and I trusted them while I was deployed overseas. ALL they said,"IT'S NOT OUR PROBLEM". read more

I can't even leave a review as to the quality of the units because my issues started at the reservation point. I called and reserved a unit with Becky who told me she would hold the unit for key pick up last weekend. When I arrived, the door was locked, even though the sign said open. After several minutes of waiting I walked around knocking on doors. She opened the door to what I am guessing is her living unit and was beyond rude and almost shouted "what" when she opened the door. I explained that I was just trying to find who was working she walked over and proceeded to beat on the door, the whole time telling me that he was there. Well, he wasn't, he walked back just then from getting a drink and she started yelling at him as he approached across the street. Then stormed off. He apologized and let me in. I tell him why I am there, he then looks through his paperwork and tells me he has nothing under that name and no units are available. I have driven 2 hours to get this set up and they apparently never bothered to write my reservation down. I am now left without a storage locker, scrambling to find a place to put stuff. Incredibly bad business and rude. Oh, and they do have the size up, and would not even make the situation better by renting that one to me at the same price for their mistake. Basically said "sorry you're S outta luck....". I would highly caution anyone before making a reservation here as it's a horrible situation to be in with nowhere to move stuff that has to get out now. read more

I had a bad experience with Monte Vista Mini Storage. My 7' x 5' x 10' (LxWxH) storage unit was broken into. It was one of the storage units that can't be seen by their security cameras. I called the cops after I discovered the break in. Yes, I discovered the break in, not the people that work there. These people deserve a zero or no stars for their pathetic attempt to help me. All they could do was shrug their shoulders and say they were sorry. I requested to see the security cameras but they made up an excuse that it wasn't operating properly, but they assured me that the video was recording. (Sure). They told me that they would call me back once they got the cameras working again. That never happened. I tried calling three times over a period of 2 weeks and they just kept having excuses. These people are not there to watch over your belongings in the least. I will never trust another storage facility again. Their old lady employee even had the nerve to get upset with me, the day of the incident because another customer came into the office and I told them that my storage unit had been broken into. Yes, it looks bad for business but come on, really, you are going to tell me I can't tell someone that I was just robbed. These people don't deserve my business or anyone else's business. read more
