Had a great breakfast today. My GF & I went. My GF went to school with the owner. She got an omelet. I got crabcakes Benedict! Both were very good! Service & prices were good.

Fast. Friendly. Scrumptious. Gormley's is a Lowell institution for brunch, one that you will be glad to be institutionalized in every morning once you try any of their rotating breakfast specials. Being a self-proclaimed Connoisseur de Hollandaise, I can dub Gormley's variant both buttery and thick, which makes it well-equipped to place most Eggs Benedict consumers' taste buds on holiday. But why stop there? Why not just lather this buttery perfection atop anything and everything you order? Eggs? Check. Hash browns? Check. Coffee? Why not. For those seeking a more traditional bread and breakfast approach, don't miss the tasty Mill No. 5 sandwich - an odd mashup of honey, bacon, marmalade, and duck egg that's the culinary equivalent of The Beatles meeting The Cranberries in a secret time-traveling music studio and unleashing a soaring pop EP that's both familiar and thought-provoking at the same time. Space is limited and there's one bathroom that's not built for extended texting so come early, late, or prepared to break your crew of 12 apostles into a booth-compatible fantastic foursome. Last checked, there was exactly *one* table with a capacity above 6 and if you didn't call ahead that's not likely your table. In fact, for the fastest service and insurance on your long-awaited infinitely-filled cup of joe, pop a squat at the counter and make some new friends. Gormley's is the only countertop brunch stop you need on this side of the canal.

Absolutely LOVE this place! The new location is great and the breakfast menu is amazing! Chef Craig is the bomb! The eggs Benedict are absolutely delicious, especially the specialty version with buttered lobster! If that's on the specials menu, get it! You will not be disappointed! If not, any of the eggs Benedict will be amazing. All of the staff are friendly and attentive. Thanks, Joann, for the lovely service and for keeping my coffee cup full! I can't wait for the next time.

Stopped by this coffee spot and really wanted to love it. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and…read morethe service was genuinely friendly: definitely a nice place to hang out. Unfortunately, what I ordered just didn't land. I got the seasonal campfire latte with protein powder and a matcha brownie. In hindsight, I should've kept it simple and skipped both the protein powder and the brownie. The latte tasted pretty chalky from the protein powder, and the matcha brownie unfortunately seemed stale, like it had been baked a few days prior. The vibes and service were solid, so not a total loss. I likely just ordered the wrong things. Maybe we'll give it another shot and try something simpler before we head back home to the West Coast.

The first time I was there I got one of their seasonal ice cream lattes (like an affagato) and it was good two scoops of ice cream with espresso for $6 was a good deal and it tasted good as well the ice cream was good quality and the espresso was freshly and toasty. More recently I got their seasonal mango sticky rice matcha and it was very very good I would likely reccomend a matcha over a coffee if you were to come here. I had a baked good and it was only alright, I would skip it. The atmosphere is hit or miss, sometimes the artwork they have on display is nice but sometimes it is kind of freaky. It also is typically pretty hot and a little smelly with sticky tables. The staff could not be nicer though, they are very knowledgeable about the menu and are happy to help if you have questions and get your coffee ready quickly.

Located slightly off the beaten path where the former Nibana Cafe was located: across the street from Lowell's city hall, Pollard Library, and a half dozen staples of Lowell's drinking/dining district. Eclipse fills an unfilled niche for that quiet, relaxing cafe with delicious coffee in a friendly environment that's actually conducive to curling up with a great book (perhaps from your local library!) or hammering on keyboard for your job that you're tired of spending in solitary confinement at home on the other end of a Zoom call that never ends. Here's a place that's welcoming to all, offers wonderful coffee, and is an easy jaunt across the trolley tracks right off downtown. Strong air conditioning in this steamy hot summer days of 2025 also make it a great place to visit when your home A/C goes out in the middle of the summer. Getting your car fixed at VIP? Skip the god-awful K-cups and obnoxious TV talking heads and swing by here to relax and treat yourself to a great cup of coffee. Picking up some books at your local library that's noticeably missing any coffee to keep your going during final exams or an all afternoon book marathon? Come get eclipsed by friendly service and extra caffeine. Walking to Market Basket or Olympus Bakery for some tasty food or pastries? Why not treat yourself to a tasty beverage to make that short walk/drive a bit more memorable? ProTip®: while you may have your personal favorite, consider branching out a bit and trying some of Eclipse's specialty lattes, particularly the fashionable Dubai Bar latte, which has just enough chocolate and coffee to balance itself out. All in all, if you're looking for coffee and an alternative to the hustle and bustle takeout focused cafes that dominate most of downtown Lowell, Eclipse Cafe is a must-see that may just become your new place to be!
