Visiting Lowell for the first time, staying at the Lowell Inn & Conference Center. Walked to Gormley's based on Yelp reviews and SO happy I did. West coast jet lag meant I missed the breakfast crowd and enjoyed an early breakfast. It's a classic diner-style format with very friendly and nice owners who engaged in great conversation. The club sandwich I had was outstanding and the fries tasty. Looking forward to my next trip to Lowell and will bring my family to Gormleys. Will try breakfast next time... and hope to see the owners again! read more

Attentive service. Greet you with smiles. I had two eggs over easy with home fries, toast, and hash. The hash tasted homemade with crispy edges. Loved it! My boyfriend had an omelette with Swiss cheese, mushrooms, and spinach, home fries, and toast. Coffee mug was large, tasty, and freshly brewed. We can't wait to come back again. We are visiting from Florida during the Medical conference and we stopped into Gormley's Cafe for some breakfast. Cute little place with husband and wife owners that were very friendly and welcoming. Food is great, one of the best egg sandwiches I've ever had. Definitely would recommend to any locals or visitors. I hope I get the chance to visit again for I leave, that's how good it was! Stopped in for a quick breakfast. Both owners were so sweet. We got breakfast sandwiches and coffees. The owner gave me this amazing bourbon maple syrup to put in my coffee, sooooo good! The hash was delicious as well! Great breakfast spot. read more

Went with the wife on a early Sunday morning, nice and quiet. Staff was very nice, food was prepared well, prices were just right. We each had a special, me the Irish Breakfast, her the Banana Foster's, both were delicious. The place is small but cozy and a great breakfast spot. read more

Today I sampled the blueberry pancakes and the Mill #5 breakfast sandwich. Both were excellent. The pancakes are really good and they don't have that cake-mix taste that lots of other breakfast places have. The service is excellent. The people who work there seem to genuinely like the place and their jobs. read more

We had another great experience here. The food was great and we were so impressed by how hard everyone was working to get the food out to a large and well deserved crowd. My only suggestion for improvement is to have soy and almond milk. More and more people are not doing dairy. So just buy some soy or almond (both keep for a long time). We were sad that we couldn't really enjoy our coffee because there weren't any options. read more

Gormley's Cafe serves a solid breakfast. The place is a little too small but if you an for a table towards the back it feels a little less claustrophobic. I had the two eggs, homefries and sausage with whole wheat toast. The homefries were particularly delightful: crispy skin but soft inside. They also use high quality, fresh potatoes - no mealy taste to these! My friend had the veggie omelet, which was light and fluffy and chock full of veggies. I definitely recommend making this your breakfast place in this area! read more

They are closed more than they are open. Not sure what 5 "technical difficulties" closings in the last month actually means when it comes to a diner. Does this mean the wifi is down? Mechanical or electrical would make more sense. I stopped attempting to go here as well as many people around me due to the uncertainty of the competence of these business owners. I can get a great breakfast at 30 more local diners that care about their patrons and are not constantly posting at time of open or after that they are closed. We come here almost every weekend for breakfast, and every week we are treated like family. Joann and Craig are both awesome, and the breakfast food is some of the best around. Everything is made fresh, and Cooked with care. Some of the items we enjoy are the traditional Irish breakfast, the corned beef hash and the French toast made with bread from Purple Carrot bakery. In addition to their food, Joann and Craig do a lot to support other local businesses in Lowell. They've had a few wine tasting events with Tuto Buene, and they also partner with the Mill no5 Farm Market on occasion. We absolutely love it here! read more

This is the place you are always hoping to find when you hit up a new diner or breakfast place. The good is SO GOOD. We've been a bunch of times and it's never been anything but excellent. OMG, their hash! It's amazing. I loooooove going out for breakfast, and I am so often disappointed by subpar food, but they make everything from scratch and it shows. I also love how much of a "everybody knows your name" vibe they've got going on. Owner Joann seems to know everyone who comes in the door, and if she doesn't, she will by the time you leave. This place is about a 30 minute drive but we try to come up from Boston ever other weekend because IT IS JUST THAT GOOD! These people make the best pancakes I've ever had, so fluffy, so light. They are amazing. (Hubs likes the corned beef hash. A lot.) And although the pancakes are incredible, I sometimes cheat on the pancakes and order the French toast because they make it with hippy dippy locally baked bread that comes in weird flavors like oatmeal maple syrup and orange marmalade. It's not you pancakes, it's me.....well, it's me. It's me eating blueberry-raisin cinnamon swirl French toast. Thank you Gormley's! My wife and I went here for the first time. The eggs and omelet are cooked just right. Most breakfast places tend to over cook. The corned beef hash was clearly homemade and very yummy. Once a month I treat myself to a muffin. This was clearly the best muffin I've ever had (blueberry). I got one to take home so that means I'll have two this month. :-). The waitresses are super nice and very attentive. And lastly, the prices are reasonable. No doubt this will become our new regular breakfast place. Oh, one more thing. Unlike the diners that take less than a clean cloth and give the table a quick swipe leaving crumbs on your seat, this place was spotless. Dr. C. Been here twice. One time I tried the Gormleys sandwich and the second time I got the Irish breakfast special. Both were excellent and exceeded expectations. The chef seems to take care in the smallest details. The side dishes had unexpected, rich, herb notes. My friend and I had traveled to Lowell to see a play and we had some time...so we were looking for a place for coffee and light bite. We walked into Gormley's unaware that were just about to close...yes we were those folks/but it was inadvertent. The staff were lovely and said we could have coffee but the kitchen was closed but they could grill muffins for us...so that is what we had. I had pumpkin and my friend got the blueberry, the were both great and the coffee was extremely good. They did not rush us...and we chatted about the play with the waitress and did not linger too long so they could pack up, etc. To note I think Sunday is the only day they close early, and very cool posters up on the walls including one about Jack Kerouac b/c he is a Lowell native son even though he was pretty open about hating his home town. I would go by again if in the area during their regular hours to try a regular meal. read more
