We chose to have Easter dinner at Dreo and I am so so glad we did! Before we even got there I had called a few weeks before to add a person to our reservation and they had no problem with it which was quite a relief! We had a party of 7 and we were very excited to finally try Dreo. We started with 2 orders of the calamari and the spinach dip special. My husband noticed the calamari also had shrimp which I am allergic to. They happily removed the shrimp but unfortunately it's fried in the same oil (which is completely logical) but everyone at our table (besides me) throughly enjoyed the calamari. I cannot even begin to explain how good the spinach dip was. I'm not sure I'll have want to eat spinach dip without garlic bread again!!! Next up entrees: 2 ribeyes, 1 NY strip, 1 Korean BBQ Bowl, 1 Soy Maple Glazed Salmon, and 1 Tuscan Fried Chicken. I am newly pregnant and to be honest I was not looking forward to eating out because my go to is rib eye but I refuse to eat well done meat so instead I ordered the Tuscan fried chicken. I also asked to sub the mashed potatoes for truffle fries and the veggie medley for green beans. They had no problems with my requests which I loved. I loved every single bite of my chicken and I actually stopped caring that I was missing on steak! In fact every single person at our table loved everything they ate too. We ended our meal with cookie skillets and again absolutely delicious! Now our meal was fantastic by itself but I have to say our waiter Brett was just as amazing!! He couldn't have done a better job and he totally rolled with our parties over the top personalities. Even if the food wasn't outstanding we'd go back just for the service! I really hope of the owners or managers see this; Brett is fantastic and deserves praise!! Seven of my friends and I celebrated Galentines Day tonight at Dreo Restaurant in Salem, and it was such a fun night. I made reservations a month in advance since I heard this place gets very busy on weekends, and I can see why. There was plenty of parking, and the decor was beautiful, well-lit, and very welcoming with lots of seating. The menu had so many great options. I ordered the scallops with risotto and crème brûlée for dessert--both were delicious, and the portion sizes were perfect. They're known for their famous 45-ounce Mega-Tini's, but since I was driving and enjoying dinner and dessert, I chose something lighter and had the tropical cocktail called The Luau (Malibu, pineapple rum) instead, which was perfect. Our wait staff was very attentive--always checking in and making sure we had everything we needed. It was such a lovely evening filled with laughs, great food, and wonderful service. I'll be back again soon and can't wait to share this place with my family. read more

I had been wanting to try this place ever since I learned about their large selection of martinis. I made a reservation for 2 and we arrived about 10 mins before our reservation. We approached the front where the hosts stand and encountered the hostess. I wouldn't say greeted bc that would imply a smile, welcoming statement etc. instead we got a 'follow me' and were given 2 menus and seated. The seating is quite tight for the 2 person tables. That atmosphere is nice, the music was at a great volume and the decor was carefully selected. We were expecting to see a server at some point, but after waiting for 10 minutes (yes I timed it) I flagged down a young male server who had been around serving the tables around us. I asked 'do we have a waiter?' He said 'yes, I will be right back'. So he literally just let us sit there, no acknowledgment, no drink menu, no water and knew we were his table. He came back asked for our drink order, I told him we'd like drink menus so he went to get those. We were impressed with the menu. I ordered a blue pineapple and my companion ordered an espresso martini flight - the drinks were delicious. A some point our waiter brought a carafe of water and two glasses, he did not fill them - which was fine. There's a small led tea light on the tables, I turned mine on. Next a bus person dropped a basket of bread in front of my companion and left - it was very abrupt. We have family that work in this industry and we were discussing how they would be dying if they were with us. Our server returned to take our appetizer order, we got the ahi tuna - again very tasty and well plated. My companion ordered a chocolate martini and I ordered a hibiscus martini- again very tasty. Eventually we put our food order in and I ordered the scallops and he ordered a steak. After our meals were bussed out, we waited about 3 minutes for a server to come over and ask how it was tasting - we let him know that he needed a steak knife - so he came back with one (by the way he never apologized which would have gone a long way). The scallops were perfectly cooked. I also want to note that the price was very reasonable, there were about 10 scallops I believe and the cost was 30 dollars. Many of the local restaurants (The Foundry etc.) have been charging exorbitantly high prices bc of how expensive scallops have become. It was nice to see them priced economically. The mushroom risotto was pressed together so tightly that it resembled mashed potatoes. It was dry and lacked flavor. My companion didn't mind his risotto and said his steak was good. For dessert he ordered cannolis and I ordered the chocolate cake. Very good and big portions. I don't think we are likely to return to this venue. The service was so off putting that it wouldn't be high on my list to revisit. If I decide to I will probably just sit at the bar. Loved this place! Only been open for 16 months so fairly new! They are big on espresso martinis and have those giant ones as well as flights! They were tasty! The food was great we got Korean beef bowls we also got the whipped feta which was amazing! And for dessert my girls had the gelato and the biscotti cheesecake. Had a reservation at 7:45 for a high top to listen to the live music. We were a few minutes early so we waited at the bar. Checked with the hostess multiple times as the time was ticking and we were still not seated. Finally 45 minutes later we were seated not at a high top but deep in the restaurant. The ambience in this restaurant is extremely nice. I also find the service to be pretty on top of things. I go to dish and most restaurants if it is on the menu is chicken Parmesan and I must say I was not happy with it at this particular restaurant. The sauce is extremely thick and extremely heavy with more of a brown and color to it then a red color in the flavor profile and the texture just do not match what I would expect from chicken Parm. I've had other chicken dishes here and have actually liked them and my family has enjoyed several of their specials which were more on the spicy side. Overall, I would say that this is a decent local joint with a very limited menu in my opinion of which I would hope they could expand to give a little bit more variety to a normal customer base. We decided to check out a new spot for dinner after seeing some fun pictures! We had a reservation for 7:30, and when we arrived, we were seated right away. It was a Wednesday, and they had live music that night, which made it a bit lively and fun! I didn't mind the noise one bit. At first, our drink service was a little slow since the place was buzzing with people, but it didn't take long to get our orders. The food was delicious! I had the chicken parm, and the sauce had a nice sweet touch that I really enjoyed. The drinks were fantastic, too--those dirty martinis packed quite a punch! The only little hiccup was that we wanted to try the calamari, but they were all sold out. Overall, though, I had a great time! Formerly Luna Bistro, Dreo has opened at the Breckenridge center on Route 28 in Salem. The restaurant & cocktail bar offers a modern atmosphere with dining room table seating (with white table cloths), seating at the bar, 2 high tops, and soft chair seating with cocktail tables. The bar offers over 20 beers on tap, wine, mixed drinks, martinis, and cocktails. The food menu is American bistro fare including appetizers, charcuterie board, cheese board, salads, soup, chowder, burger & sandwich plates, flatbreads, and main entrees (pasta, steak frites, chicken, seafood dishes). The prices are moderate high. They also offer desserts made by a "nearby bakery" in Windham. I stopped by for dinner just before 5pm. I initially headed to the bar which was basically filled up with townies. I then took a seat at a high top table near the bar. Two servers were teamed up, taking turns taking my orders and bringing out ice water and food. For a starter, the Fried Calamari ($17 plus tax) had breaded fried point Judith calamari rings & tentacles, shrimp, cherry peppers, parmesan cheese, lemons, and a sweet thick marinara for dipping. The texture was light chewy and the breading was coming off. For an entree, the Chicken BLT ($17 plus tax) had a buttermilk fried chicken breast, green leaf lettuce, sliced tomatoes, bacon, avocado, chipotle aioli dressing on a thick soft onion bulky roll. I did request some mayo for my sandwich and I also noted that the melted cheddar cheese was missing. The breaded chicken (pounded) was very chewy. The side of standard golden fries were soft and lightly salted. After I was just about finished, one of the servers sensed that I was all set for the check, which I was and no mention of dessert. The check was $35.48 (cash)/$36.90 (card) with tax and before tip. Overall, the food here was decent and the service was adequate with the two servers taking care of things promptly. My high top table was wobbly, so I placed a folded cocktail napkin under a leg for stabilization. I would return here in the future when things are settled in here. My summary is fact based and I love and support non chain restaurants. Our experience: Reservations were full so we opted to stop in at 4:45p (they open at 4p) to try to grab a spot at the bar -full. Hostess was welcoming and we were able to get a seat immediately. Our server named Jackie was A+++ Her personality and care about our experience was paramount and you tell she was an experienced server. She knew the menu well and was able to answer all questions. She made our experience very enjoyable! We tried the espresso flights an interesting way to try other flavors but next time I'd order a full size martini. We also tried a cucumber type cocktail (can't remember the name- but was def crafted well and would order it again over the flight. We ordered the charcuterie which was very fresh nice quality meats would have liked a few more cheese options (with a tad more depth of selections). Grapes were plump and fresh, olives were yummy, the crostini was paired with a fig jam. Would order again. Entrees: chicken Milanese very large portion, the breading was off and separated from the chicken and I feel was stealing away from the chicken, pasta was over cooked fell apart and was bland, we asked for a side of additional sauce but probably needed ti be re sautéed to have the pasta grab it's flavor. Def enough for 2-3 portions. When I reheated it I added some salt pepper and additional lemon. Chicken reheated and was juicy day 2. Would t order again. Dessert/espresso : didn't have any. The live music was a nice experience but added to the already incredible high decibel level. Ambiance: nice bright clean the major negative I'm including only in hopes of correction bc this was and overall great experience,- Either lessen the amount of tables or add a dividing wall and sound dampening would solve the issue of not being able to converse with my friend while dining. Seems like others felt the same bc we had to read lips and felt like as loud as a concert. That was a major draw back for the price point. I would return and support small businesses and try a different entree but would dine at 4:30 or 7:45p to avoid that very unenjoyable decibel level. Went on a Saturday night, they are only open for dinner starting at 4pm. We arrived at 5pm , didn't have a reservation but were seated at a high top in the bar area. It was a little tight but we made do. The restaurant is very nicely done. I ordered an espresso martini that I enjoyed. It looked like espresso flights were very popular. We ordered the meatball with polenta appetizer (4 meatballs). They were very tasty but I could tell they were dropped raw into the sauce, I prefer my meatballs fried before going into the sauce, much better texture but the flavor was spot on. We ordered the fried chicken with pasta, the chicken was cooked well and was very good, but the pasta was swimming in butter. We also ordered the primavera and added chicken which was supposed to have a garlic sauce but I couldn't taste the garlic. The chicken was cooked very well. We really wanted to like this place. Decided to give it a 2nd try. The place itself is nice, restrooms are clean and entertainment is good, but the service is just not there. For the cost it is just lacking the basics. Server was inattentive and disinterested. Didn't clear any dishes from app to desert. Didn't refill water or even ask. Had to request silverware and didn't bring plates with desert. When there is no room on the table to leave the check it might be time to take some of the plates and bread basket away when you walk by. I mean really basic stuff. Food is OK and the menu doesn't change. Definitely prepared food and not cooked to order. Has potential but needs to level up on service and food. read more

Okay, but not rushing back. We had a reservation for 6 PM on a rainy Wednesday night. The restaurant was less than half full, which surprised us given all the reviews saying reservations are a must. Most of our group ordered martinis, but the drinks came out wrong. Our waitress apologized immediately and quickly brought the correct ones. My husband joked about keeping the wrong martini for the price of one, but it was whisked away and (since my friend had taken a sip) clearly tossed. We ordered flatbreads - very small portions, but flavorful. My friend had the scallops and absolutely devoured them. The wait staff was attentive without being intrusive, which we appreciated. Two in our party opted for the Wild West Burgers- they were okay, but nothing you couldn't get anywhere. Husband opted for chicken parm- passable. I ordered a salad with seared scallops- nope. A friend wanted to try Dreo based on the viral giant martini so we went for dinner. It's very pretty and has a cool vibe with a nice bar. Need to know: 1. Get a reservation 2. You are on a timed seating so be prepared to enjoy your meal in 2 hours (I personally hate this type of policy, it's rude and unnecessary - showing the owner is all about the Benjamin's) We sat in the dining room, our server was excellent. We ordered drinks which were good and appetizers: fried cauliflower wasn't cooked enough and was very crunchy and chicken wings. The wings tasted ok but were "soggy", I like mine crispy. Meals were just ok. 3 of us got meals based with fried chicken cutlets One was ok the other 2 were definitely overcooked with visibly burnt breading. The lemon sauce on the pasta was good. Servings were large and we all took much of our meals home. One of us got a hot honey sandwich which I heard was good but didn't have a lot of flavor. Some of the drink flights and other cocktails looked very good. We didn't get the giant drink though! Checked out Dreo last night for dinner with a friend. To drink we each had a martini flight to try out some of their many flavor options. We split scallops with risotto & ribeye with the veggie of the day and truffle fries for the two sides. Both meals exceeded our expectations. The desserts are locally sourced from Sugar and Spice Bake Shoppe. The lobster tail was our favorite, it was light and fluffy without being too sweet. They offered a cheesecake flight which was a fun way to get a little bit of each flavor. For only being the second night open I think the staff absolutely crushed it, especially for how packed the place was. I would definitely recommend this spot for a date night or a night out with friends. The vibe is very comfy cozy and welcoming with live music at the perfect volume setting. The great- Alex is an excellent waiter and made the experience fun. The drinks are great. The bad- this place needs a complete kitchen overhaul. They don't know whether they want to be high end or casual dining. The menu is a mess and the portion size is out of control. If I was the chef I would cut the portion sizes by 70% and focus on quality of what you're serving. this place has a lot of potential they need to turn the lighting down for a more swanky atmosphere and need a new head chef/menu. read more

We made reservations for an early December Friday evening. The restaurant was very busy and loud. There was live music but it was hard to hear with the volume of the restaurant. The food was average. There were 4 of us eating and we ordered a variety of dinners including, steak, bowls and burgers. We had someone with a pretty severe gluten allergy with us and made the server aware of this. However, there was cross contamination as this person was very sick after eating here. Our server was inattentive and rude. It took a very long time for the server to come to our table initially so it's possible she was over sat. We were directed to a link to find out ingredients or prices of items. We did have a request to leave an item off of a burger and when the food came out this item was all over the burger. The drinks were good so I would recommend Dreo for a drink and appetizers at the bar but otherwise we won't be back nor would we recommend to anyone we know. read more
