I love the Cobb salad with grilled chicken and ranch dressing with sweet potato fries. It is literally my favorite meal - this combo is just one you can't beat. I love summer then you are able to sit outside and have views of the golf course. It is perfect at sunset. Service is always good. The staff is always so nice and I personally like sitting at the bar because the bartenders are always making super fun drinks because they always have the best drink specials. Had my first experience at Sandtrap the other night! I'm part of a Facebook group called Merrimack Valley Eats and went there to post for some suggestions for a good Tuesday trivia night in the area - the suggestions were overwhelmingly leaning towards Merrimack Valley Golf Club! The trivia host himself, Mike, was one of the people to suggest we go there. Once we got there, I was able to identify Mike and said hi as he handed us our trivia papers. He was great on the mic, dry sense of humor and moved a good pace with the trivia! We ended up coming in 1st place out of 4 or 5 teams! It's a relatively small inside space with the most beautiful patio looking out onto the course which has some of the best sunsets in the MV area! Our server was Ian who was very cool, laid back, and fit the vibe of the place. I work in the service industry myself and respect the hell out of a good server, he knew his stuff, our food came out right even with a few modifications on my friends entree. I highly suggest the steak tips and start with the sweet potato fries with Jalapeño aioli as an app for the table! THEYRE SO GOOD. The golf course itself is beautiful and upstairs from sandtrap is another restaurant/bar called "Parlay" - beautifully decorated, so much sunlight coming through, definitely a place I'd love to check out in the future! Been here twice and both were decent experiences. Had the hamburger and steak and cheese wrap, both were decent size and reasonably priced. The service was really good, helpful with a good attitude. Went to celebrate a birthday breakfast here on a Monday morning. First, as we stepped off the elevator, I almost went down because the floor was soaked after just being washed. There were "wet floor" signs, but not visible until after you've stepped off the elevator. And now, the entire downstairs, including the restaurant area reeked of floor cleaner. Had heard of the Sandtrap via an ad mailed to our home. Decided to try it with the hubby on a Saturday early evening. Arrived around 5 p and there were a few people at the bar and a few seated at tables. It's located downstairs at the Merrimack Valley Golf course club house (?). We were greeting immediately and directed to sit where we'd like. The hubby picked a table by one of the TV's not realizing the volume was up so high on it. Our waitress arrived quickly to offer drinks (we stuck with tap water) and we asked if the volume could be turned down a bit and she said she didn't have her glasses on and would have to ask someone to adjust it. While we pursued the menu we ordered the baba ghanouj to start and it was very difficult to hear.. I guess we could have moved to another table but we stayed and as our waitress returned, we placed our orders: the house salad with the house dressing to share and I ordered the appetizer portion of cabbage rolls for my entree and the hubby, the fried fish special. He clarified that the fish was haddock and our waitress said "yes". He wanted cole slaw but our waitress said they had run out and the shipment had not come in yet. Hubby was bummed but still ordered the fish along with fries. The baba ghanouj arrived fairly quickly and was served with pita wedges. It would have been nice if the pita wedges were warm. The baba was good but with a very strong lemon presence. The salad was a standard romaine, cucumber, tomato salad with a very light, lemony Mediterranean house made dressing. I really enjoyed the dressing. Our entrees arrived shortly after we started the salad. The cabbage rolls were good, cabbage a bit more tough than others I have had in the area. Filling was fair with a mix of rice and meat. My hubby was not a fan of the fish as it tasted a bit fishy, the batter was very tough, not flakey and the quality of the fish reminded me of a frozen Gorton's fish filet. A little disappointing. The fries were standard frozen, not hand cut fries. Glad we tried it but probably won't come running back. read more

I believe our server was Ramon and he was absolutely amazing great service the was above and beyond , food was absolutely amazing the only down fall I was eating my fried haddock Sammy and was enjoying it and went in for the pickle on the side and found a hair ! I didn't wanna cause a fuss but Ramon handled it with excellent care and was so nice we will be back ! Hopefully no hair next time !!! read more

I ordered take out tonight and enjoyed every single thing we got! Everyone I spoke to was very nice, especially the woman who took my order. She was patient and answered all my questions. I ordered a couple of apps and an entree; the buffalo wings were perfect, calamari was great and the baked haddock was very good as well, even the mixed vegetables that came with it were great. I also had a lemon drop while I waited for my order and that was great as well. Will definitely visit again! read more

Delicious Food! We played golf, took a look at the menu and decided to stay for dinner. We sat outside to take in the breathtaking view of the golf course. The food was absolutely delicious...only two issues and neither food related 1. Upon arriving, the waitress immediately comes up to us and tells us the kitchen was closing in 10 minutes. It is a Sunday of Labor Day Weekend!!! Why not 7 or 730? We ordered our food immediately. 2. We sat outside and there were people smoking and holding their cigarettes so as not to bother the people they were sitting with but we were choking....there should be NO SMOKING where they are serving food!!!!! The food arrived and it was absolutely delicious. My husband had the chicken kabob with rice. I had lamb kabob with rice....yummy and my friend had the grape leaves which they were very small not large grape leaves....however they were good. I had the baklava for dessert which was difficult to cut but yummy still..... We will definitely go back there but maybe sit inside where smokers are not allowed....just so gross..... If it were not for the smokers and the time constraints I would have given this restaurant a 5 star review read more

We attempted to eat dinner in the bar this evening. While there were plenty of seats open, the bartender indicated that the spots were saved for people who were coming later. There was a loud group hanging around the bar that just took over the space making it uncomfortable to enjoy a meal. The food wasn't fresh. Overall just a horrible experience. Could be a nice space, but it's just ruled by regular crowd that don't make it comfortable for new people to enjoy. Will be going back to Shadis, much classier. read more

I had heard many great things about this restaurant and was very excited to try it today. My husband and I had lunch. It was a terrible meal .The grape leaves and stuffed cabbage were the size of my size 5 finger and were very mushy. The french fries , as well as the rest of the food tasted like it was reheated in the microwave. The best part of the meal was the dish of yogurt. I am of Lebanese diescent and this was the worst Middle Eastern food I have ever had in my life. Very disappointed and will not return. Maybe they have a new chef cooking in the kitchen. The food here is excellent. However, the last few times we have gone here and sat at the bar, the bartender was absolutely in another world. His service the first time was so poor, and this last time, he never acknowledged us at all as we sat for 15 minutes while he walked around talking to the young girls and waiting on them while never even looking our way! I was invited along with friends and was very pleasantly surprised. I love Lebanese food and wish there were more places close to home but the Sandtrap is worth the drive. Our party started with appetizers of Hummus and baba ganoush with pita that was so fresh. The Kibbeh and mint is my favorite. We settled on the lamb kabobs and stuffed shrimp for our entrees, of course we all had to try each others... Fresh and Flavorful from every bite. You may think you are walking into a pub with quick microwave or fried food but what you are getting is actually fresh and authentic. Our waitress was pleasant and very attentive. Last night we had a fabulous dining experience at the Sandtrap Bar and Grille. Our efficient and friendly waitperson Thalia greeted us with a warm smile and attended to each of us and each of our requests. I went to the restaurant with my wife on Friday. We heard so many good things about the Sand trap. I had the Arabic luncheon special which was reasonably priced. The kibbee was average. The grape leaves, cabbage and the french fries were awful. I believe they were microwave. I have never seen such a small grape leaf or cabbage in my life. They were mushy and about the size of a cigarette. I would not go back there again or recommend it to any of my friends. I was really shocked how bad the food was since I heard so many people rave about how great it was. I eat Arabic food regularly and this probably was the worst food ever. I've been here many times and love the food. However, the last few times the service has been horrible. I went there on Friday night for takeout and there was only 12 customers sitting at the bar. Hummus is the best around. Very creamy. Stuffed grapeleaves have good flavor but are super thin and filled with mostly rice. French fries are extra crispy, which we liked. Side salad is a good size and house dressing is lemony and delicious. Location is a bit weird but just follow the signs and you'll be good. read more
