Excellent execution of Pad see ew, all the rice noodles were evenly coated with fish sauce and moderate soy sweetness. An even balance of wok char from the high flames, noodles were evenly spread out not clumped together due to higher water content, and tofu let out the perfect texture of crispy on the outer layers with infused caramelized flavors and the right kind of cotton creme softness on the inside. The lunch portion of green Curry was adequately large. Although I wished they would have cut down on the bamboo shoots and maybe thrown in some eggplant to diversify the ingredients a little, chicken and bamboo was a little bland. Good coloring on the green curry and good proportion of creme / coconut milk to curry powder. Enjoyed the fact it wasnt drowning in Sugar. Tom Kha was reasonably good. A bit sour to the taste buds probably from the over use of Tamarind, but nevertheless would rank in the top 25% of Tom Khas I've tried across the country. My wife and I have been looking for a solid thai restaurant in the West Valley for a long time, and we feel we have finally found our spot! We ordered takeout last night. We got the Pad Thai, Yellow Curry, and Crab Rangoons. All were cooked with loads of flavor and much attention to detail. It traveled well and maintained its integrity. The restaurant itself was clean, and the staff were super friendly, getting me in and out without any issues. We just dined in about fifteen minutes ago. We came to grab dinner before a concert at Talking Stick Amphitheatre. The place is cute inside and the service was ok. There was only one server so it's understandable that she didn't really check in with us after dropping off our food. OK the food is OK. First time at Golden Thai and I lived the crispy tofu! There was a place we used to go to in LA called Noodle World (really good noodles) that HAD amazing fried tofu and sweet and sour sauce with crushed peanuts. This is the first place I've found in Phoenix that serves the fried tofu that hot and crispy AND also nailed the sweet and sour w/crushed peanuts. My wife and I loved the artwork of all their food dishes hanging on the wall. The Thai tea was absolutely perfect as well. I wanted some drunken noodles and I remembered this Thai place by this pho place near where I used to live so I thought I'd give it a try. It's a cute clean little place. Smelled delicious when I walked in. I ordered Thai papaya salad without peanuts and topped with shrimp. It was pretty good not super sweet which was good because I know places like to sugar it. However, I like Lao style better and at my old Thai restaurant they gave you the option of Thai or Lao style. Nevertheless it was good. Now I ordered Thai drunken noodles with chicken but I got pad see ew with beef. I got my order to go so I didn't realize this until I got home. However, the pad see ew is DELICIOUS! So I'm not mad even though it's not what I ordered. I spoke with the owner while waiting for my food. She's super nice. She's from Bangkok so it's Bangkok style Thai food. The items I did get even though one was wrong was delicious. They have lunch specials Mon-Sat so I'm going back during the lunch special time so I can try more items to see if it's worth bringing my mom and aunt to try it out. I ordered via their easy online order process on their website and set for pickup. When I picked up the woman working was very friendly and even added cutlery and napkins upon my request. It smelled heavenly inside the restaurant. I had a feeling it was going to be tasty when my nose danced Now the taste test, YUM! Each and every dish was packed with flavor and spice. The meat cooked just right and noodles with the perfect texture. The only thing I'd change is the amount of broccoli in the pad see ew. It left me wanting some more greens. This place has been on my radar for a while. However, I'm not often fond of going to Thai restaurants because I typically find them overpriced and not so flavorful. I've especially had that problem since coming to move to Arizona! I can cook Thai food at home so I end up doing that instead. That is definitely not the case for Golden Thai!!! The exterior and location makes you think twice about visiting but it is SO DELICIOUS. My family and I went on a whim and ordered three things: 1. Pad Thai with shrimp, 2. Green Curry with chicken, and 3. Thai Fried Rice. All amazing. Nobody had complaints. Complete silence except for the sound of munching. When I next looked over, my son had nearly finished the entire container of the rice, even with it being filled with vegetables. THAT amazing. Do you have a child that likes Asian food but has suddenly started an aversion to veggies because they're in that annoying age? Bring them this. It'll change their minds. The front desk cashier was friendly and the restaurant was neat. They're only doing takeout because of COVID but even 20 mins old, sitting in a takeout container, the food was scrumptious.
