The bibimbap was ok, not the best I had, there was too much sprout in the dish, and didn't have enough beef. But the fried chicken were great, very good flavor and crispy.

Tofu bibimbap - delicious, A+

I've been here a few times and have always enjoyed coming here when I need something to eat thats fast casual but not completely fast food. After climbing on Saturday night, I was hungry and wanted some soup. My favorite Korean soup is any kind of soondubu, which is a tofu soup. I love tofu, grew up eating it and its a staple in my diet. I came in here around 9pm and the owner (ahjussi- means middle ages man or boss) is always very nice to me. I ordered the seafood tofu soup, mild, no spice. He rang me up and my order came to a little over $15 with tax and with tip, was under $20 for me. You get a little buzzer that lights up when your food is ready. Ahjussi was nice and brought me my soup as it was very hot and steaming. I sat in front of one of the TVs and happily watched K pop videos while having my very hot and satisfying tofu soup. Even though I ordered it mild, its still a little spicy so be prepared for that. I can only handle mild. There were a few mussels in it, some squid and a nice plump shrimp. Soondobu was a little smaller than at other places but I didnt mind. It also comes with white rice (not purple) and the egg is already in the tofu soup. Also, note, no banchan (side dishes) is served but remember this is fast casual Korean. If you want an authentic Korean food experience, go to a tradition tofu soup house like The Stone Korean Tofu House in Mesa. My experience at GOGI made me want to take a trip to South Korea - I have always wanted to visit! Overall, I love this place and also know you're supporting local too. Ill be back again and again!

Spicy Pork Bulgogi Hot Stone Bibimbap

A quick craving for bibimbap led me here. It's a self seating, order at the front restaurant. I orders the spicy pork bibimbap in a hot stone. Have no complaints on the food it was good. All parts of the bowl mixed well and was very balanced. Pork was not spicy but that is fine as they give you a bottle of sauce to adjust the heat to your liking.

안녕하세요, This is a great place to check out Korean dishes without being yelled at by an 아줌마. This location has some new dishes and some spicy options. It is located in a plaza right next to Snowtime (convenient for dessert). The owners and staff are friendly and dishes arrive hot and freshly made. I love the many options of noodles, rice or soups/stews. If you like seafood you have to try the seafood pancake The dishes are a fusion of korean dishes with American palates which makes the food more appealing for those who may be overwhelmed by trying new dishes they have seen on a K-drama or in a K-pop video. Great fried chicken! They also have great tradional style dishes of gogi=meat or bap=cooked rice, chigae=stew, etc. I had their spicy pork with udon noodles which is usually a soup but came as a stew. It came in a flavorful gochujang sauce. It was a bit spicy tempered by a sweetness. As a Korean I can taste that recipes are a bit sweeter than traditional dishes, but that is not a bad thing. The dining area is relatively quiet so you can carry on conversations or enjoy some of the K-pop hits. The prices are fair and the serving sizes are sufficient. This is a friendly place to expand your palate and branch out to try some flavorful options. 잘 먹겠습니다!

Stopped by at Gogi for some bibimbap and it did not disappoint. Food was delicious and owner gave great service. Try the Korean beer as well. Enjoy!

Vegetable yakisoba noodle with chicken and shrimp

Met up with some folks for dinner here on a Friday evening. I don't find myself in this part of town often but it seemed fairly happening. This spot wasn't too busy when we arrived which was good. I ordered the veggie yakisoba and the protein choices were chicken or shrimp. I asked if I could get tofu instead since I prefer that. We grabbed a table outside and waited for our food. We were given buzzers to notify us when our dishes were ready. I grabbed our food from inside and noticed that mine had both chicken and shrimp in it, but I decided it was fine and ate my bowl. I liked it, I added some chili sauce since it was in the sweet side. Not too many shrimp pieces but there was enough chicken and veggies. I also tried the kimchi fries which were good. Service was friendly and our table enjoyed their food. I'd come back and try some different dishes if I'm in the area.

The food is great, the portions are sizable, and the manager is very friendly. Will be coming back here!

We have become regulars since we don't want this place to close! The jjampong, jjajameyong and tekbokki are some of the best I r had. The soups are awesome too! Can't say enough about this place, love love!

Ramen regular flavor with pork dumplings
Yu W.

The fried chicken was an easy 10/10--crispy, juicy, and packed with rich garlic flavor. The thick sauce complemented the chicken perfectly, and the portion size was huge, making it well worth the price. The restaurant itself was clean, conveniently located, and had a welcoming atmosphere. The service was excellent--the server was always friendly. However, the ramen was just alright. It tasted almost identical to Shin Ramen straight out of the package. Don't get me wrong, I love Shin Ramen, but if that's what I wanted, I would've just made it at home. If you're coming here, I'd definitely recommend the fried chicken, but maybe skip the ramen.

Galbi Bento Box
Elliot S.

I honestly love this place. I usually order the Galbi or Bulgogi Bento Box, both amazing. The sweet and salty combo of their meat marinade is delicious. The service is always great, it's the same guy working the counter every time I go in and he's really friendly. I highly recommend this place, it has a very clean atmosphere and always hits the spot.

Kimchi Pancake- half eaten before I remembered taking a picture lol

Yess!!! Finally a good Korean food location in the Valley. All the food we ordered were delicious and some I forgot to take a picture Let's start off with their Bulgogi Bibimbap. 5/5(Don't order this TOGo since the experience is to have it cook on the stone plate to get that crispy rice texture before mixing it with the variety of veggies (sesame oil, and kimchi flavor veggies) and meat. Basically like a Korean fried rice dish. Kimchi pancake.- 5/5. Perfectly crispy on the outside with variety of Korean veggies on the inside and not too salty. This was a a god size where you can size it with others as an appetizer. Orange chicken- I didn't taste it, but my mother in law enjoyed it and noted it was crispy to her liking. As for the restaurant itself, it was clean and the staffs were friendly.

Garlic Fried Chicken

Don't usual give 5 stars to "fast food" & was a little doubtful when we were walking up. But as soon as we walked it, my mind & attitude changed. It didn't smell greasy, to restaurant was clean, bright, & nicely decorated. The gentleman was very nice. The food...OMG fried chicken as I've always dreamed of! It's what you want & hardly ever get...crispy, but the light crunchy kind. So meaty, juicy, & not overly saucy. As Golidlocks would say, "Just right!" The other dishes were just as satisfying, but I came for the fried chicken & did not disappoint! Also loved walking out of there not smelling like my food.

The order came with some banchan; stir fried fish cakes, cucumber salad, and kimchi. The bulgogi itself was good but didn't have a very smoky flavor. It came with fried vegetable spring rolls, shumai and goon mandu. I didn't realize it came with the same appetizers we ordered but didn't mind as they were tasty. The only item we didn't care for were the spring rolls, which were mushy. The kimchi fried rice was ok, I'm not sure I'd get it again. I really enjoyed the goon mandu and would definitely order it again, it was crisp, the filling well seasoned and I especially loved the dipping sauce it came with. The shumai had an interesting spongy texture and nice shrimpy flavor which I enjoyed. Warning, the spicy sauce for the wings is not for the faint hearted! I was not prepared for that level of heat but if you enjoy really spicy food you'd like it. It was too much for me and my boyfriend who typically eats really spicy food. Thankfully, the sauce was on the side and the wings themselves were nice and crispy so we ate them without the sauce. The prices were reasonable and portions were large. I would definitely come back!

It…read morecould have easily passed as a Michelin restaurant in a New York Four Seasons hotel, or at the Aria in Vegas. It was simply.... cool AF. The food presentation and layout also delivers. Someone clearly spent time with the visual experience. This is what I call a restaurant designed for the 'Gram. However, a couple things that didn't quite full send. First, the service is incredibly slow. Staff was friendly, but "nice" doesn't equate to the textbook definition of hospitality. Things were slow, and unlike top end Korean restaurants I'm used to in NY and LA, where any floating staff can assist with cooking, things just took unnecessarily long. This is a pain point they really need to address, especially as a Korean restaurant. As a half-Korean, service and efficiency is part of our cultural pride, so this disappointed. The marinated beef ribs ("kalbi") were perfect. I grew up with this my whole life, and Sizzle's quality is right up there with kalbi royalty. If you've never had Korean bbq, and have only one chance to eat it THIS is the dish you want. The beef brisket ("chadol") was good too, but what makes this dish popular is the sauce. There are places in Korea and LA that people line up for specifically because of the chadol sauce. They didn't have a dedicated sauce, so if you've ordered and liked it, you're only getting half the picture. Dedicated chadol sauce is THE key, instead of the rudimentary salt or sesame oil. HUGELY disappointed! It's like trying pizza for the first time without tomato sauce, no matter HOW good the crust and cheese is. Other than that, like I said, they represented. However, I'd elevate on my 2 critical points, because someone could easily open up a competing restaurant, and wreck this place on service and sauce. Sizzle, you're very good, but you could be great!

@sizzle desert ridge mall…read more First, of all the Korean BBQ restaurants in Phoenix, their meat quality is the best. I applaud them for having good quality food, the prices reflect quality. On my last experience, Saturday March 28th, it was disappointing due to the way we were treated. We requested fish cake upon ordering and was told they just ran out, I commented/asked if that was truly the case as it is always out. At the very least, it's been the last 10 times they've been out of this side. We do go frequently, so it was surprising to hear him make this excuse. The remaining food service was average, it was busy so the server did the best he could under the circumstances. He attitude seemed fine and we moved on with our meal. Upon receiving our check, he decided to autograt our bill for a party of 5. I brought this up to our server and he stated it is managements decision to autograt parties of 5 or more (I call BS) and asked if it was because I seemed displeased at the ordering of our food due to the fish cake questions? I asked if I was profiled as someone who doesn't tip for any other reason? He insisted that all parties of 5 or more at the restaurant are autograt, at all Sizzles. At this point, if servers are now able to autograt any parties they feel a tip is not earned, it's no longer a tip and a restaurant charge. if I was profiled, it would seriously be disappointing. I'm happy to share all receipts showing a minimum of 20% at every restaurant, many cases even more, including at Sizzle. Deeply disappointing at this restaurant and may consider not going back. There are many options but to be treated this way is again, disappointing at best. I rated 2 stars due to the interaction and excuses for the autograt and will be writing a letter to the management but affirm the food/meat quality is very good, this was a very bad reflection of service and decision for the service staff to secure their tip this way. If they're out of fish cake, I do not blame the server and it is not their compensation that should be impacted but the action taken by the staff is questionable.

My friends and I came to this place together because I had been before and liked the Korean food here. Food was legit and was a good experience previously. However, the day we came in, the waitress got my friend's order wrong as my friend wanted the bibimbap but the waitress heard something else and brought out a soup. When my friend immediately told her that isnt what she ordered, the waitress (new) proceeded to argue with my friend. I watched incredulously as things started to unfold. The waitress even asked my friend to pronounce bimbimpap again and told her she should learn how to pronounce it better. She kept arguing wirh my friend and mind you, waitess wasnt Korean or Korean American. At this point, I had to step in, as I also heard my friend say bibimbap clearly. The waitress didnt know what she was talking about and at the same time was being rude as heck to my friend. Then, my other friend shows up and orders a bibimpap. When the bibimpap is brought out, I asked her to bring some gochujang for my friend. I didnt know if my friend would like this chili paste, so wanted her to have the option to try it. The waitress again decided to argue about this and at this point, she was really testing my nerve. She said bibimpap doesn't come with gochujang and I am like thinking are you crazy, woman? I am not Korean but I have been eating Korean food for 30+ years, I know what I am talking about. She then asked me to repeat gochujang several times and I was very annoyed at this point. Its like, look lady, you dont know what youre talking about, stop sticking your foot in your mouth and come on, be nice to your customers! Because of this terrible behavior, I asked to speak to a manager, a woman came over and listened to what happened and apologized and thats how we found out she was new. I was beyond frustrated at this point. Despite the horrible service, I still left a 10% tip, but honestly the waitress deserves zilch and needed more training. The food is solid here but I wont be returning with that kind of behavior, I can choose where my money goes, and these days with it being so hard to get by, good luck to this place as I am not coming back.
