Terrible job and NOT what was promised and paid for. They broke several pieces of glass in pictures, a beautiful architects drafting table, and a big walnut hutch. When I asked about all the broken glass they said it came that way and I said no it didn't I packed it myself but they denied any responsibility for it! Then when I moved in they promised they would pack it up and move it and then unpack and put it away. Well that never happened. They unpacked drop them off just basically right in front of the front door and then said goodbye and left. I will never, never, ever use them again. They were terrible. Just awful. The guy in charge had an attitude so bad that I almost fired him the moment he opened his mouth to insult my artwork, and I wish I had done so - even the poor kids who were assigned to work under him were constantly apologizing for his snide remarks and shitty behavior. As I began to unpack, it's become clear that he intentionally left my boxes with my books in storage, when I told him three times I needed them (he told me "they're in the van, I know what I'm doing"), as well as my extremely fragile glasses nearly all breaking in the move due to his refusal to use the packaging I had for them (I asked him four times to use their proper packaging, and again, "I know what I'm doing," shoved them into a box at old how, and now they're in pieces). I can't speak for every mover here, but the one I had was so terrible that I now have HUNDREDS in damages with everything he touched, AND I'm not nearly strong enough to move my books myself. Hired them to move a baby grand piano. This whole thing was kind of a nightmare. The first time, they called me the day before and rescheduled to that afternoon because their previous client didn't have keys to their new place, so they couldn't unload the truck. They promised me a discount for the trouble. I said fine. I rescheduled the cleaners I was supposed to have the next day because they only clean houses empty of all furniture. +1 extra day of rent. The second time, they didn't even call until the END of the 2-hour window they gave, saying they couldn't even do it that day because it took too long to unload the previous client. So I had to reschedule the cleaners again. Also +1 extra day of rent. At the end of the day, they didn't tell me that they would charge for the driving time from their location to my place (had no idea where they were coming from!). I've never had a local move (including a 30 mile drive) take more than 2 hours. But theirs was a 3-hour minimum @125 / hour. They ended up taking 3.75. It took them 2 hours just to load the piano into the truck - I had to wonder if they were out of practice because we've had this piano moved 5 times before, and I've never seen it take so long to load a piano. If only I could find the contact information of the last movers we'd used. And then they took a measly ~$20 off for the trouble. That doesn't even cover the 2 extra days of rent or the additional time my husband had to take off work. Wow. read more

Cannot say enough good things about the guys at Globe Moving Group. They gave us an in-house estimate and the final bill wasn't a single cent over that. Our movers showed up on time and got the whole job done fairly quickly. While they moved fast, they were also very thoughtful. Every piece of furniture was properly cushioned and wrapped and they moved each piece and box, as if it were their own. They were extremely polite. This review is long overdue. We moved at the end of Feb beginning of March and we chose Globe Moving upon recommendation of our friend Andrea (check out her review too!). Michael and his team were so accommodating and so professional. When Michael came out to take a look at the scope of work (which NO ONE else did by the way), he immediately put me at ease of the idea of moving, while in school full time with two kids under 3 yrs old. He was professional and courteous and really ensured us that we'd be well taken care of - and we were. We also had an issue come up where we had to be out of the house one day before we received the keys to our new house. Michael was able keep our items on the truck for a small fee but it made all the difference. He was even able to make a stop at my in law's and pick up items we had moved there temporarily. I hired Globe Moving Group through Thumbtack and am so happy that I did... Mikhail, Vadim, and David did an awesome job moving us from our two-story condo into a house undergoing renovation. They were very courteous and professional, great at handling bulky items, and even willing to move items that weren't on our original move list. Highly recommend!!! 1. Making arrangements for the move was very easy. Everything was done via email with Mikhail, who is very responsive. 2. All of our furniture was covered during the move. Nothing was broken or lost, and everything was fully secured in their truck. 3. At the last minute after seeing what a great job Mikhail and his crew were doing, we asked them to move out our 3rd story attic, as well (up a tiny ladder into a partially finished crawl space). They cleaned out the space with no problem and no complaints! 4. Their rates are very reasonable and pretty much on par with all local moving companies (with a discount for cash payment). For a short-range move (6 miles for us), an hourly rate with a cap at 12-15 hours is standard. This is the 3rd time I've hired professional movers within CA, and I would definitely use Globe Moving Group again. read more

I found them from yelp since their review are good, but the experience was not good. I am very disappointed and unhappy. Michael is the person we contacted. A couple of days before moving, he and another guy came to our house for estimation. They asked for $150 additional to move our piano on top of the hourly rate. They didn'gave us a total estimation but mentioned it be finished about six hours. They confirmed they would do the floor protection and heavy traffic corner protection. On the day moving, they were supposed to come between 8-10am, but until about 11am, we didn't see anyone. Then we received a phone call from Michael and was told that their truck was broken. He said they were renting a truck and should be here soon. We waited until 12pm and four guys came up. We didn't know any of them. We asked about Michael, and the leading guy told us he was busy with another work. We didn't expect that, but can't do anything about it except felt cheated. Since it was already in the middle of the day, we only wanted this finish as soon as possible. When the four movers started moving, I realized something worse may happen. They didn't plan to give any protection to our floor and heavy traffic area. I asked about it and they told me they left it on the other truck. The leading guy called Michael and then told me someone can bring the protection around the time they finish packing here and before drive to our new home. I was speechless. How could my current home didn't need any protection? Anyway, it took them about eight hours to finish the job. At 8 pm, after we paid totally about $1500 for this move, the leading guy asked for the tip. He made us speechless again. It was this guy who told us he would take a break for lunch around 4pm after we provided water and ice cream to them. He didn't go in the end, otherwise the moving probably wouldn't finish by 9pm! SO unprofessional! Plus we all knew there were a few of small but obvious damage to our furniture caused by this move. In one word, the overall experience was bad. The only thing worth mentioning is one mover like a European from this moving team was professional and hard working. Without him, I won't even given two star rating for them. Anyway, my suggestion is that make sure you got what you paid for, get a real estimation and confirm who will be your moving team. I believe you can find another more reliable , honest and professional moving company out there! read more

We had three movers help us yesterday and it was definitely the best experience with movers we've had. In the past we've had people that looked like they just got out of jail but these guys were very professional and I felt comfortable with them taking our stuff. I appreciated that they took the stuff we wanted donated to the center so I didn't have to hassle with it. They wrapped EVERYTHING to make sure it wasn't damaged and they were very fast. They worked very efficiently and were careful about not damaging our house and belongings. Since they asked and paid attention where to put everything, there was minimal for us to do. read more

Later we emailed Michael about the problems, and he promised to take care of the issue more than one time. We kept calling him, but he stopped taking our calls. I called Michael and he happened to have availability - he thoroughly explained his (very reasonable) costs and gave me a start time. Business and personal move. Top notch experience, top to bottom. I just moved from Connecticut to San Diego in huge overweight containers that were dropped off in San Marcos. I found Globe Moving Group on Craigslist and spoke with Michael. From the first conversation he was professional and direct, giving me a reasonable rate with complete and accurate information. I had a total of close to 20,000 pounds, ten percent personal items though that included some irreplaceable paintings and furniture. I had hired two men and a truck on the outbound side, and they were like Laurel and Hardy for about the same rate. I was gun shy by the time I met Michael and was watching over his shoulder at every move. Within an hour I realized I had hired real professionals, and by the time the first day ended I had left them alone with some of my most precious items to finish up while I got other things done. They had with them and used as needed and without my involvement all the tools of the trade from shrink wrap to furniture pads, dollies to hand trucks and straps. Not a single piece was harmed and they were very careful about walls and door frames etc., something I have never before seen with the 'professional' movers I have used in the past. Also Michael was punctual and communicative in advance and during the move, and had professional paperwork which he mandated be signed for each portion of the move. My move was non-standard due to extreme weight of both individual items and the entire load, but also because I needed to figure out where things were going "on the fly", so I needed Michael and crew to listen and work in my time and my way. They did a truly spectacular job - they were very fast and consistent during times when they could just be let go, and yet slowed to help me make my decisions without pressure at times that I needed to review and think through where things were going. I've been in my own business for more than three decades and have hired hundreds of sub contractors for varying services. It is rare that I can give such an honest glowing accolade, but in this case I recommend Michael and company without reservation. If you have a large move and need a personal reference, you are welcome to call him and ask for my number, I hereby give him permission to give it out when he feels it appropriate, and you can call for a direct reference. I cannot imagine you finding a better person or company to do this type work and though I hope not to have to move in again in the foreseeable future, I will turn to no-one else when I do! read more

Michael came to my place to assess the items that needed to be moved and to give me an estimate. He was extremely professional. I hired 3 people to move me from San Diego to LA (Rav, Tico & Urick). On the day of the move, the guys showed up on time at 8:00am. From the start they hustled and did not stop until the day was over. They disassembled my bed frame, work desk, and wrap artwork for me. When we arrived in LA they re-assembled every piece exactly they way it was before the move. The push in LA was a long haul, then up an elevator or stairs and then down another hallway to my apartment - not an easy move. I was very impressed with their work style. From the outset, everything about this company can be summed up with the word, "professional." I have moved over 15 times and I can hands-down say that my experience with Globe Moving Group has been the most pleasant moving experience I could ever imagine. We will certainly contact Michael and Globe Moving Group for all future moves. They deserve more than 5 stars. Michael (owner) is extremely pleasant to work with, and is very honest, polite, and prompt. He is up front about moving costs and there are no hidden fees. He helped determine the number of movers needed and the approximate amount of time of the move. Pricing is very fair. We were able to book two movers (Michael and Rav) to move our 1-bed apartment into a new 2-bed apartment. They also moved belongings from an additional storage pod into the new apartment, even though I forgot to ask about this when I booked them. They did this all during a heat wave in San Diego (we felt terrible for them)! Nonetheless, Michael and Rav were exceptionally pleasant, friendly, and we enjoyed chatting with them. They worked hard and were efficient and organized with the move. They took great care with our belongings and we experienced no damage or even the slightest scratch on anything. Further, we accidentally left a ziploc with furniture screws in their truck, and Michael called us and hand-delivered these items to us as soon as he discovered them. Overall, Michael and Rav are wonderful people and went above and beyond. We can't thank them enough for such a stress-free and pleasant experience.
