Sigh...where do I start? This was, by far, the most frustrating moving experience I've ever had. The only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is because the manager was professional, listened to my concerns, and made an effort to resolve part of the situation. Unfortunately, the two movers I was assigned were the complete opposite. From the moment they arrived, they were great! As they ran into hurdles, they began to complain about having to remove the door and partition to get the sofa sleeper our of the door, and then proceeded to tell me that the movers that originally moved in the sofa had to have removed the partitions (NO they didn't)! They removed the door as I stated and that was it. Needless to say, they were able to remove the sofa out of my old address. Now, they arrive at the new address: They repeatedly expressed their frustration about how heavy my sleeper sofa was and continued complaining to each other within earshot. They first attempted to take the sofa into the elevator, but it was too long to fit (understandable). I suggested using the stairs instead, and they immediately insisted it wouldn't fit and continued complaining about how heavy it was and went up 10 or so stairs and gave up and stated that it wouldn't fit in the staircase--the ceiling is too low. I decided to walk to the other staircase to see if it might work better. One of the movers followed me and confidently told me, "This staircase is even smaller than the other one." Interestingly, after unloading everything else, they attempted to use that very staircase--and the sofa fit. I even recorded the process (pulling out the phone to record worked!). The same staircase they claimed was "smaller" worked just fine. It left me wondering whether they genuinely assessed the situation or simply didn't want to carry the sofa upstairs. What made matters worse was the attitude throughout the move. At one point, I requested a partial adjustment to my rate due to all the unnecessary back-and-forth. I later overheard one of the movers say to the manager, "She keeps saying anything." That comment was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. The movers also misrepresented the situation by telling the manager that I expected them to move everything. That was completely false. I was moving from a studio apartment, and nearly everything was already packed and ready to go. I never made any unreasonable requests. During checkout, the experience became even more frustrating. Earlier, the manager had kindly agreed to provide a partial adjustment because of everything that had occurred. However, one of the movers questioned why I was receiving the discount and asked me what the problem was. After I explained the issues with the sofa and the overall experience, he responded by saying, "This is your complex. You should know which stairs we should have used." Ironically, earlier in the move, the other mover admitted they were supposed to complete a walkthrough before unloading the truck but didn't do one. If a walkthrough is part of your required process, then that responsibility falls on the moving crew--not the customer. Blaming me for something your team failed to do was unacceptable. To make matters worse, I was then rushed to pay because they said they were behind schedule for their next move. When I asked for the total, the agreed-upon discount had not been applied. I reminded the mover that the manager had approved an adjustment, but he ignored it and proceeded with the payment process. He also told me there was no difference between paying by cash or card, even though the manager had already explained that paying cash would be less expensive and I already knew this as well, because they let me know during my reservation and provided a "cheaper quote" with cash payment. Trusting my instincts, I called the manager before completing the payment. Thankfully, he confirmed the discounted cash price we had discussed. While I was still on the phone with him, the mover had already processed a charge to my American Express card, even though I had clearly stated that I would be paying cash. The mover contacted the manager, and I told him immediately to reverse the card charge so I could pay the agreed-upon discounted cash amount (which I paid in cash). Fortunately, the manager stepped in and resolved the issue. The company itself isn't the problem; the manager handled my concerns professionally and respectfully. However, the two movers I encountered were rude, argumentative, dismissive, and unprofessional. Their constant complaining, lack of accountability, and poor customer service completely overshadowed the move. I've used this company in the past and had a great experience, which is why I'm so disappointed. I sincerely hope the company addresses these issues because no customer should have to experience this level of frustration during what is already a stressful day. read more

Instead, they sent only two movers who worked extremely slowly, and the move ended up taking 11 hours. As a result, I was charged much more than I was led to expect. Even more concerning, my son's PS5 was placed in an open box during the move, and after everything was unloaded, it was missing. Despite searching thoroughly, we were never able to find it. This experience was frustrating, expensive, and stressful. I had to leave 5 minutes before the movers because I don't drive, and had to take an Uber to let them into the new house. I told them all the doors were locked, he only had to close the door after they loaded the boxes of food from my refrigerator. The food was left behind, and I was told it would cost me _60 for him to go back for the food. I told him I wasn't paying for what he forgot! He went back for the food, and the 3 chairs he forgot. Upon returning, he informed me that I had left the front door to the house wide open. I left before the truck left, and it was they who left the door open!!! It is now the next day, I have broken glasses, and the pack of screws attached to the box it was packed in are missing. I have to figure out what Kind of screws and wait to have them shipped. I just wanted to watch a movie, but not until I can identify and order the danged screws. I am beyond disappointed. read more

I used Vector Moving for a longer distance move with a few items. They gave a really great rate for a shared move since I only had a few boxes. I was really impressed by the way they handled my items with care. Their truck had an elevator system which was really nice because I had a few fragile items that I wanted to stay upright. They packed my stuff and sealed them off with a wall of boxes so they wouldn't move during the drive. They were able to deliver my items the next day, and the drop off was just as smooth as pickup. We moved from San Diego to Northern California. They gave us an estimate for one 24ft truck, and after loading the truck and we had left already and they called us that our weight is over and we need to split the move. That cost an additional %1500 and had us waiting two weeks for the remainder of our belonging. They broke our large TV and a very antique table. They sent us to claims which promised to send us a replacement TV and replace the broken glass from the table. Ruben is the person I dealt with for my move set up. He was always patient and kind despite the fact I must have called at least 7 times with changes, questions, and worries. He was great. I don't know the name of my movers but they arrived on time to pick up my furniture and to deliver it the next day 500 miles away. I was impressed with how reasonably priced and careful they were with my items. I chose them from yelp because of the $2500 guarantee and although I didn't need to pursue the guarantee because I did not have a problem, it felt good to have it. I was a bit put off by the asking for a tip but I guess that is an assumption. I was ready to tip but the amount did not make the guy happy so I had to give more. That was weird but I get it. It wasn't easy to move my very heavy couch still it made me feel uncomfortable but I understand where the guy was coming from. It's just I am not rich and while the price was reasonable that doesn't mean it was easy to come up with $3000 for a one bedroom apartment to another apartment move. I still would and have recommended them to others. I hope they get the business as they deserve it for their efficiency and strength. The movers were: ~Respectful! And friendly - Prepared - Communicative - Efficient I planned everything out with my sale rep Ruben who was really amazing and great to work with. He answered all my questions (we went back and forth quite a lot coordinating the whole thing). The crew barely took breaks, asked where to put any boxes they were not sure about (we had a system but didn't get to label all the boxes), and were very careful and skilled at getting some big heavy furniture up a very narrow staircase. I honestly can't say enough good things about Vector and the hard working guys that helped with our recent move. This is actually the second time we've used Vector in a big move, the first about 4 years ago. They were amazing then and they were amazing again this time! Our move was very challenging because of the layout of the townhome, and we had several big pieces of furniture that needed disassembly and reassembly. There were other nice pieces of furniture that needed extra care when moving (like my 85 inch Sony Bravia TV!). They did an excellent job of professional packing, to ensure everything would be safe and there were no missing pieces throughout the process. Wow, did they deliver. Also, they worked EXTREMELY hard throughout the day. The whole job took about 8 hours, it was hot, it was a lot of work, but they stayed totally diligent and committed. I felt so bad for them by the end of the day because they all looked absolutely exhausted (and so was I!). I am sad I don't recall the names of the 3 gentlemen who helped us, but please see the service details and thank them all again for me. I decided to go with Vector moving for my local San Diego move after looking into several movers in the area. I liked that they offered packing crates and wardrobe boxes to move since I didn't want to spend any extra money on supplies, and I was pressed for time trying to pack after work the week prior. The guys showed up right on time in a large professional truck. They were exceptionally kind, thoughtful of my space and things, and moved at a rapid pace. The lowest possible quote they gave for a one bedroom move within 10 miles was a little over $300 special cash price. I had a feeling it might take longer than the three hours since there are stairs at both places, and it did end up taking five hours. They charged about $25 extra to take down my wall mounted TV and wrap it for me. The total ended up being a bit over $500. Worth it. I didn't carry anything. I'm sure it would have gone faster if I did, but I'm a small person and didn't feel like being sore for a week after the move. I was so stressed about having to do this move quickly and by myself. This is my 3rd time using Vector Moving and Storage and my experience this time was probably the best. This 3rd move was the biggest and most difficult because I have a vintage 1965 upright piano and I was moving into an apartment on the 2nd floor in which the movers, Yehor, Ruslan, and Adam, had to carefully haul my precious piano up the stairs. While I was anxious about my piano, the 3 guys took their time to carefully move it up each step and turn without damaging my piano. My move was from San Diego to Los Angeles and our final bill amounted to roughly $1400 ($159/hr + $200 fuel + $159x2 RT) with no packing service. While in the agreement it states that they would assemble any furniture pieces, I had to remind them to do so because the Vector movers that did my 2nd move disassembled them. They did a great job unloading our boxes, furniture, and several small pieces into our new place and followed our instructions on where things needed to be placed. Yehor, Ruslan, and Adam were friendly, timely, super strong (thanks again for the piano help ), and we tipped them each $100 for their great service and hard work. BEWARE! We recently moved across state lines and requested the services of two large box trucks. As everyone knows, preparing to move is stressful. The excitement and anticipation of moving usually occur once you arrive at your new destination and where you will place the items that mean something to you. Vector destroyed this opportunity for us to experience the joy of moving into a new home. The day after loading up our belongings one of their drivers negligently crashed into the back of a semi-truck. What arrived at our home over the next few days were hundreds of smashed and obliterated boxes. We lost all of our furniture and other items that could not be replaced. We were only able to salvage about 15% of what was on that truck. Then we had to deal with the hassle of slow communication during the claims process, taking pictures of everything that was damaged and expenses related to hauling off our belongings that were now junk. Well, they got us moved. Eventually. (Forewarning: I don't dislike the company at all, and I firmly believe that the many positive reviews for them are justified.) They had to send home the original group for possible health precautions, so that was considerate. Who they sent instead were nice folks, but they weren't necessarily careful with some of our furniture and boxes. They were late, but that was likely due to the circumstances, as they were last-minute substitutions. I was curious to see how they would get everything moved from our upstairs apartment down the stairs. I get it that items should be packed carefully for various incidentals. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a lot of bouncing down the stairs, which would worry most people. One significant aspect we couldn't have anticipated was that they didn't send an ideal number of people for the job. They sent two people rather than three, which would have made a big difference in hindsight. I had a feeling the number of people to send would be underestimated considering we had a ton of stuff. So, aside from the broken and significantly blemished items we ended up with at our new home, I couldn't blame them for having to work until later into the night. Overall, I didn't have a fantastic experience. The guys were nice and worked hard, and we wouldn't have been able to do it without them. And for that, I am very thankful to them. It just bums me out that the condition of our items were compromised. I mean, I didn't know how careful we had to be, but I guess next time we should cover our furniture as well. It's hard to know if the movers will try to take care of things as if they were their own. But hey, I've never hired a moving company until I've had this cross-county relocation, so you live and you learn. Would I hire Vector again for future moves? I would. And I'd like to update my review more positively in the future. I just don't look forward to any future moves, to be honest. Would I approach the situation differently? Definitely. If you are coming from a 2-bed-2-bath upstairs apartment with a 1-car garage full of stuff, I would get three people rather than two. I now understand there is critical information that needs to be provided on my part. The combination of the information from both the company and customer need to be clear to ensure the smoothest move possible. read more
