We booked this company with videos of all our things for a 1 bedroom move to a house. We were quoted a price. MORNING of the move - we called them because no one showed 30 mins after time window. They told us the truck was broken down and it would be another 1.5-2 hrs wait (already 90 mins past the time they said they would arrive). Eventually their solution was 5% off and a new team was sent (now 3 hrs later). When they arrived they looked at the house and boxes in garage (which we already prepped and videod) and DOUBLED THE PRICE OF THE QUOTE. We asked why the huge jump and contacted the manager. While on the phone with him, the movers drove off and left. I have moved and had many experiences but this was the worst communication I've ever had. It is more about the poor communication and the false expectations in how this was managed. Now we're left scrambling for solutions. Thanks so much. I will never use this company again. I've moved more than 5 times in San Diego and have never had such a rude guy talk so us and treat us as if his time was more important. Maybe because it was just a storage move but our items in storage still are important. I will give two of the guys very nice and professional. The main guy was the one with attitude and seems to have an anger issue. I will give them the positive is that they did text me 20 minutes before arriving. Everything seemed to start okay but I already noticed no care of our items, they dropped stuff and didn't seem to care. Granted it wasn't too important, but I wouldn't trust them with anything antique or valuable. Then they said one items was a marble table and it's too heavy. We've moved 5 times and no one has said anything to us about the weight. Positive; they didn't charge us for the item. As I mentioned if any of the other 5 movers said it was a heavy item, I would've been upfront about it. But since no one else I've used in San Diego said anything, I didn't think it would be an issue. Then I saw the guy start getting angry and seemed to not care about anything bc he had to move this heavy item. He started throwing tape on the floor twice very angrily. I felt scared as a woman and thankfully my boyfriend was with me. But if you're a single lady and someone is giving you that attitude, be aware. Most of our stuff was just left in a "general" area. With no care. If we pay for 3 hours of work, the expectation would be you work 3 hours. Yet I was told "you treat us like robots" 2 hours in when we still had 1 hour of work left. I wanted some boxes moved from the garage to the room (all 1 story) maybe 10 feet away and was given an angry attitude. I'm sorry but we're paying you to do a job. So at the end of the day they got 1 free hour of pay and a tip. But I would never use them again. So unless you want to be treated rudely and scared, use anyone else. Ps Jeff/owner will probably respond and just argue about the one heavy item. I'm not disputing if I had known it was going to be considered heavy I would've said something. ---- Edit: What I can at least say is Jeff was at least professional and offered a small refund for the issue. WARNING! We hired 2 movers for a simple 3 hour job for $119. They were scheduled for 9 AM but showed up around 9:30 and stayed until 12. Not a big deal since there's a 3 hour minimum. The moving part itself was fine. Other than some minor scratches on the stairs that we had to touch up before we moved out. The problem started after the move. When they finished, my husband handed one of the guys his card to pay. The shorter Russian guy called someone to process the payment and read my husband's full card details out loud on speaker. The second Russian guy was nearby on his phone the whole time. We didn't think anything of it at the time. But now I know he probably was jotting done my husband's cars details. Not even 30 minutes after they left, my husband gets an alert for a $1,589.70 charge from Apple.com US. He didn't buy anything. He immediately called his credit card company and Apple to dispute it. Apple even said it looked suspicious because the billing and shipping ZIP codes didn't match ours. A few hours later, I get the same exact Apple charge for $1,589.70 but on my credit card. Then I get another charge on that same credit card from SP XMartial for $346.45. And then my debit card gets hit with the same $1,589.70 Apple.com charge. I didn't make any of these purchases. That's when everything clicked. My cards weren't stolen, but they were physically visible on my work desk upstairs because I was working from home while we were packing. NOBODY ELSE had access to my cards that day. I honestly forgot they were there because we were juggling work, packing, and moving. You don't expect people to go through your things. But the only people who had access to that room and those cards that day were the movers. All of these charges happened within 30 minutes to 4 hours after they left. Fast forward 5 days, as we're settling into our new place, I realize my AirPods are now missing. When I checked Find My iPhone, it said "setup incomplete," which only happens when someone removes them from your account. So now I'm wondering what else might be missing. My husband checked the location and it shows last known location was our old home exactly 5 days ago, hmmm what a coincidence! We notified the owner, and all he said was that they "do background checks" and that it wasn't his guys. I waited 5 days to write this because review. I was worried about our safety. If someone is bold enough to make fraudulent charges and take personal items while inside your home, I don't know what else the 2 men are capable of. We've already filed a police report and alerted our banks and Apple. I'm not saying the owners are involved, but I really hope they start doing actual background checks on the people they send into customers' homes. You hire movers expecting to trust them not to deal with thousands of dollars in fraudulent charges and missing items. This whole experience has been extremely upsetting. I will say communication with the owner was awesome. Too bad the actual movers had to ruin it. ;( read more

Hired two movers to move only the large furniture (and a few boxes, but not many) from my home to a few streets away. I thought the 3 hour minimum would be more than enough time. For starters, the company called me at the end of their 3-hour arrival window to let me know that they couldn't keep the scheduled appointment. We ultimately rescheduled to the next morning because they wouldn't end up arriving until after 7pm the scheduled day. Day of the move, the two guys showed up and, to their credit, they moved what was asked and they wrapped everything in stretch wrap which protected everything well. Unfortunately, it took them SIX hours to finally finish moving everything, which amounted to more than double what I was anticipating paying. And, I say they moved everything, but when they got back in their truck, I noted that they left some pretty important pieces behind including the glass shelf to my wife's vanity. So, I grabbed those things and had to take them over myself. And finally, when it came time to pay, the one mover that could speak decent English basically begged for a big tip. I don't tipping your movers. They work hard and deserve to be tipped. But, asking multiple times during the payment process for a tip and to make sure it's a good tip is uncouth and entirely too much. Overall, the process wasn't BAD, but be prepared for your move to take WAY longer than you think it should. read more

I was in the middle of a major bathroom remodel - and one of the things involved was replacing a rather archaic jacuzzi tub, built into a large bench in the bathroom, with a freestanding tub. At some point, the contractor and plumber got together and decided that moving a 400+ lb tub up a flight of stairs wasn't really for them, so the contractor reached out to a specialist moving company. The first one he tried was NOT Like Movers - and after coming over and reviewing the project, they bowed out. Enter Like Movers - they came in, evaluated, determined the most logical way of moving a cumbersome tub (strap it to a 2x8 that has handles, four guys lift and casually take it up the stairs). While I recognize this is an EXTREMELY focused component of moving - figuring out how to make the complex simple - it IS an important component - and is an area that Like Movers clearly has down. Highly recommended for this kind of project. They clearly have both the experience and the necessary manpower to resolve this kind of a move, and I would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

I used Like Movers for my recent move from a 2 bedroom apt to another 2 bedroom apt. Coordinating with Jeff was easy and they sent 3 guys and 1 truck. To make the move easier and quicker, I packed everything up very well so all they had to do was move my boxes and help with my larger furniture. Overall, they did a good job because nothing got damaged too badly (a couple chips and scratches here and there but none of my fragile items got broken thankfully). Because it was easy to work with Jeff, I'm giving them 5 stars. My only caveat is that we had negotiated a maximum time limit, which I would not recommend doing in the future. It didn't incentivize the movers to go quickly and they ended up hitting the maximum when in reality, it shouldn't have taken them that long. The initial estimate was 3-4 hours and it ended up taking almost 5 hours. Jeff was understanding though and did not charge me the full maximum amount. read more
