I had a small but challenging move: Living room furniture, office furniture, a few other items. 20-minute drive across town. However - it was 90 degrees when they started at 9am and it only got hotter and more humid over the course of the morning/early afternoon. The team arrived on time and ready to get to work. While the origin home had a driveway that can easily be described as "steep," the new home's driveway makes the old one look like a tiny, gentle slope. It is so steep, the truck could not back up the driveway at all - the metal step on the back hung up on the concrete right at the bottom. It is also LONG: Maurice and TC now had to carry all of my stuff up that driveway, stage it in a flat area, and then carry it the rest of the way up a slightly lesser slope around the side and back of the house, of equal distance to the driveway, that finally lead to my door. It was not a good time. These two men were incredible - absolutely wonderful. They took excellent care of my stuff, yes, but they were also incredibly friendly and professional, had excellent, positive attitudes, and never complained once. They joked about it in a very good-natured way. I kept them supplied with cold drinks and cold, damp towels to make sure they survived the insane heat and hard work, encouraged them to take breaks, et cetera: They were working so hard, I was genuinely concerned for their well-being, but they are strapping young lads and persevered where I would have 100% perished. They were so kind about the miserable conditions. Their good humor and amazing work ethic got us all through the experience. Yes, we ran over our time estimate, but none of us realized the driveway was impassible for the truck, and that multiplied the work by easily a factor of 10 in this heat. I tipped them both $100 and wish I could've given them twice that - they more than earned it. Thank you, Team! You were great! We had referrals for 3 companies to come out to give us a quote for our move. The rates were in line with other companies but what really set them apart was the value Chris added before we even officially committed. I had a few conversations with Chris who graciously answered all my specific questions. Then we scheduled an in person walk through of our home. Chris personally came out to assess what we had and what staff & time would be required to do the job. At the conclusion of his walk through, he gave several suggestions & shared a game plan on how to make the move go smoothly. We felt like we had personal attention all throughout the move. They sent the same staff to us 3 days in a row. This staff of men were friendly, hardworking and professional. They handled our belongings with extreme care! Not a single item was damaged which was truly impressive. We had some high end furniture pieces as well as some delicate pieces. On the final day of our move, Chris spent the entire day packing our his & hers closets into wardrobe boxes. He took much pride in presenting us with "a gift" from him. We walked into our closets and it was set up as if we paid for a "closet world" professional to organize our clothing. Skirts and shorts together on the short bar. Long dresses were on the tall bar. Pants hung neatly in their own section. All shoe boxes were grouped together and neatly lined up. This was especially impressive due to the fact that my husband had over 120 different shoes/sneakers. Everything had a place and this saved us HOURS of work & energy. This was very special to us and such a generous gesture. Very unfortunate experience with this moving company. I think I need to stop trusting online reviews so much and do more research before hiring movers. I thought my previous movers were bad, but these guys proved me wrong. Not professional Some of my furniture was not wrapped properly. A few items only had plastic on them, some had blankets, and one dresser was wrapped only on one side while the other side was completely exposed. Now I have scratches and small damages that I need to fix myself. Not friendly The main mover was nice, but the helper was not friendly at all. He never even said hello. When I asked him to be careful with my furniture, he just looked at me and kept walking without saying anything. I found this company on Yelp because of the good reviews. They were also the cheapest out of the companies I checked. Now I understand why. The service did not feel professional, and the truck looked old. My last moving company worked faster and parking was easier because they had a lift gate on the truck. These guys only had a long ramp, which I think made the move take longer and cost more. What also made me uncomfortable was that they asked me for a review during the move and offered me a deal for it. I didn't want to say anything at the time because I was already unhappy and did not want any problems or escalation with the movers while they still had all of my furniture. Forgive me, I can't remember the two gentlemen who helped service me during my move. To start, they did amazing, given how nervous I was, I don't care for task like these in such a crunch time. I reached out last min, and they were available ON HOLIDAY! Grateful for that. I believe one gentleman was Sammy. Nothing to do with this company, but moving in general is expensive. They were respectful and organized. The only thing and not really a complaint, but I had mattress bags and plastic coverings for my couch. They suggested I didn't need(couch covering) it but unfortunately when they placed the couch in the storage unit they removed it from the boxes they transported it in, which doesn't really make too much sense, but I think that's girl brain stuff, an I think they had good intention. My fear is maybe whatever could be in a storage unit or a pipe bursting. But also unlikely, and my responsibility. This is my second time using this company for my move, and each time they went above and beyond to make the service as smooth as possible. The employees work exceptionally hard to get everything from one location to another with care. In this move; David, Kevin, and Morgan all showed up four hours earlier than the time scheduled. They were quick, kind, respectful, careful, courteous, and really great at what they do. During the move, I told them that I would move my two Legos, which are pretty big for Legos, and a piece fell off, shattering into a bunch of small, smaller bits. I wanted to move them because I was nervous anything would happen to them and I didn't want it to fall on the company. Everyone was so nice and helped me find all the missing pieces. They even went as far as opening up a sewer great to climb down and retrieve five missing Legos. This was something that I didn't feel like they actually had to do. It was my fault. If anyone should do it, it was probably me. So I'm really grateful that these are the guys that I was working with today. Chris from Packman moving responded to my initial request in a timely manner, and provided a realistic ball park quote for approximately 3 hours minimum. The day the movers arrived, Maurice and Arturo, immediately began to work on what was needing to be done. I already had 90% of the house boxed up, with some exceptions that cannot be boxed, so they wrapped unboxed items as it's their standard. For my two bedroom condo, and with my help, it still took roughly 4 hours to move out and then about another 2 hours to unpack at the new place. The movers were great, and professional.
