Thank you! Great communication and got it done as expected........................ On time and In Budget

Team did a great job, moved everything safely and in good time. The price was comparable to other services in the area, and the movers were all incredibly kind, communicative, and trustworthy. Would use again! read more

I can't endorse this moving company. Maybe they're great in doing local moves, but our cross-country move was definitely bad. Pros: the packing crew was nice. They were on time as well as the delivery. Cons: You could tell what boxes were packed carefully and others were not. Some things were thrown into a box with some packing paper, while others had items that were wrapped 10 times over. Our brand new sofa was scratched and dented. Some pieces were just plain crushed. The record keeping was also bad. A few sheets were meticulous, while others were a mystery. The boxes were also unmarked. We even provided the crew with sharpie markers because they had none. read more

We used Global Moving Systems for our relocation from Northern VA to NC - load on Thursday and deliver Saturday. They showed up on time, loaded a 4 bedroom town house in less than 5 hours. The team was careful, efficient, and did an amazing job. Dago, Big Naggi, Jose, and Gigirigim (apologies if i misspell anyone's name) were awesome. On Saturday, they surprised us and were ready to go at 10am (was not expecting until afternoon) which was amazing. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. I collected at least 10 quotes and Global Moving Systems was very competitive and had no hidden costs. Excellent value from a great company. read more

The movers José and David were incredibly efficient, courteous, and skilled at moving my items into my apartment. They packaged everything up so well and helped me move across the DMV. They both were polite and easy to connect with. I appreciated their communication and willingness to work with my unique and difficult situation. The only criticism I have is for the management, as the movers themselves were not informed of where they were going (storage unit) and what time they were supposed to arrive. Once I explained it to them, there were no further issues and the move was flawless, I just wish their manager had communicated all the necessary details that I had already given him. read more

The owner, Eugene, is a good guy. We had a couple issues with our move but he was able to resolve them in a really quick manner. Highlights of our move with them: -- Full pack service means they will pack all your things for you. -- For our cross country move (Virginia to Oregon) we got our things very fast. It took less than a week for us to get our things (your move times may vary). -- The initial quote was pretty competitive compared to other companies in the area. Even after the final price they were still a couple thousand below some of what their competitors quoted us. read more

Went above and beyond. Moved our house during a heat wave, over 100. Very cheaper than other quotes I got.

Coming from someone that never leaves reviews. If a moving company that delivers and handles your belongings with care is what's needed, should be approached with caution, based on the experience I had. After the move, analyzing the outcome, the process was filled with issues, causing significant damages that were not properly addressed. Major issues encountered Insurance: After setting up the move over the phone, and signing to make the move official, I discovered that there is a full coverage insurance. Since I didn't have it, there is about $2,100 dollars in damages and lost items that I am still trying to obtain. Damaged Belongings: I had a $1,400 dollar tv that was broken. The other item was a $400 dollar console table that they tried to hide that it was damaged. I seen them messing with it carefully. They didn't say anything about it; therefore, I thought nothing of it. The movers seemed careless, and the packing was inadequate, failing to protect delicate items. Attempts to resolve this with the claims department were met with no answer and voice messages, so the compensation offered is 0 at the moment. Movers: The mover was trying to rush after the move and have me sign to end the contract on his phone without reading through it, and I caught some errors. Be careful at the end of your move. I just wish I would have known about the full coverage. Additionally, make sure you look inside the movers truck yourself to make sure you're not missing any items. We are still missing a $350 dollar glass table top. Recommendations for others Based on this experience, I recommend you use another company in the area. To avoid a similar experience, the following precautions are recommended when choosing a moving company: Get everything in writing: Make sure all terms, including the estimated cost, the number of movers, and the timeframe for pickup and delivery, are clearly stated in a signed contract. Verify licensing and insurance: Check that the company is licensed and insured with the appropriate authorities, such as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) for interstate moves. Research online reviews: Look for consistent patterns in negative feedback to assess the company's reputation. Don't be influenced by excessively positive reviews, which can sometimes be fake. Demand a binding estimate: This will guarantee the final price, preventing the company from hiking up costs after belongings are loaded. Document everything: Take photos and videos of belongings before and after the move, and keep detailed records of all communication with the company. In conclusion Moving is already a stressful process. Hiring a moving company that delivers subpar service, overcharges, and damages belongings only makes the situation worse. Learn from this experience and take precautions to protect yourself and your possessions. I feel like the reviews on here may be fudged or inaccurate in some accounts. read more

The experience started off fine, however, that quickly changed after we took inventory of our items and home(s) after the fact. Our walls suffered some major dings and dents as the movers didn't take much care when bringing furniture down the stairs. It started to rain on the 2nd part of our move and 3 of our boxes were completely drenched in rain due to the fact that the moving truck used had a giant hole/leak in the ceiling causing a fair amount of damage to some of our goods. The icing on the cake was after they were finished the movers backed over and hit (2) $1500 mailboxes and uprooted them out of the ground completely. **UPDATE** The owner of Global Moving Systems did stay true to his word and fixed our mailboxes after about a month. They did a good job fixing them it's just unfortunate it took so long to get it taken care of. Overall their customer service has made me look at them in a more positive light now. read more

No issues. Excellent crew that did not waste any time but ensured items were moved with care.

We have used Global Moving Systems twice now and they never disappoint. Dago and his team are friendly, professional, fast and thorough! I used GMS a few weeks ago for a cross country move (VA -- CA). I'll break the review down by location. Pick up in VA: 5 stars. Flawless. Basically all I had to do was stand there, look pretty, and hand out water bottles. I packed everything myself and even took the bed apart / wrapped my mattress to expedite things. Manuel's team (3 guys total) was in and out in just over two hours. Drop off in CA: 3 stars. Poor communication. The 2 guys were about 3 hours late. I later realized it was because they were shuttling my things off the semi truck onto a smaller Uhaul. But it would have been nice to get an update rather than just be sitting by my door on standby. Manpower was an issue. 2 guys were not enough. My apt building had stairs. It was in the 80s that day. I ended up helping w the "unpacking" -- removing all the blankets etc from the wrapped furniture. By the end of it, I was drenched in sweat and exhausted. Not exactly what I was looking for when paying for a service. Bonus: My things were mostly undamaged and the stuff that was, wasn't so broken that it's worth mentioning. Also, everything arrived way ahead of schedule. My estimate was 8-15 days. I figured it would be closer to 15 but it ended up being 8! Pleasant surprise there. Things to keep in mind: although you can pay the deposit online w a CC, make sure to have a cashiers check or money order for the remainder because there is a 6% CC fee. I was kind of annoyed that this wasn't made clear and I had to run to the bank on the pick up day (I no longer had my car at the time and was lucky that there was a bank within walking distance). Overall: 5 stars considering the cost was about half of what the next cheapest company quoted me (no shuttle fee at origin, and no minimum weight requirement). read more

This was the second time that global moving systems helped us move in the last 2 years. Knowing that they were available to move us from Tennessee to Pennsylvania was such a relief. We had confidence that they would do a great job (given our precious experience) and they did not disappoint. We had them pack our entire apartment and amazingly not a single broken glass or dish. I hired Global Moving Systems to handle moving a small apartment into a storage unit, and they did a great job! Used this company two years ago for a move. Something has changed about this company in a non positive manor. Can definitely feel that they are under new ownership or management. Movers were not very efficient / experienced, however were nice guys. A 12 hour move turned into 21 hours spread across 2 days because the truck was too small that they brought. This forced me into a 2 day move and paying fuel expenses / travel time twice. Felt nickeled an dimed with some of the hidden charges. The thing that really was unsettling was the fact that this company wanted to charge me a 6% surcharge for using a credit card. Maryland has a 4% maximum surcharge and Virginia is capped at 3%. Had to scramble at the last minute to send Zelle and Venmo payments. After this second experience, I would not recommend this company for moving needs. read more

I had the best experience with this company! They were quick to provide a quote and were able to schedule our move at the last moment. I especially appreciated the three movers that arrived to move the furniture, Dago, David and José were amazing. They were kind, respectful and so careful with the furniture. The moving crew arrived at 8:30 AM. They finished packing items not gotten too yesterday. They packed the truck from front to back. Holy heck folks, what a fantastic experience I just had with Global! I contacted them on a Tuesday and by Thursday morning my move was complete. The quote arrived within 15 minutes- the contract and confirmation email within 45 minutes. The communication throughout the process was excellent. The movers arrived 30 minutes early, were extremely polite and kept me apprised of the status (& displayed incredible strength!) They were super gentle with my fragile items and let me tell you, these guys are probably expert Tetris game players because they utilized every inch of my (slightly undersized) storage locker. Can't recommend them enough- thanks to Geno and his team! read more

Global Moving Systems - Storage locker stacking. - Movers Near Me - Springfield, Virginia

Positives: They communicated what time they would show up and they came on time. Nothing fully broken. They asked after each room if they had gotten everything. They were friendly. They have straight forward pricing of $145/hr plus 1 hr travel time with no hidden costs. Cheapest movers I found in the area. Nothing broke. They wrapped most furniture really well to protect it. Needs work: They came in masks but then took them off all day (I didn't mind at my house because I'm vaccinated but they never asked if it was okay to take off masks at my apartment complex where everyone wears masks at all times). When they delivered items they did not reassemble bed or desk even after asking me if I wanted them to. I labeled boxes and they ended up leaving a bunch of boxes in the wrong place. I asked them to put storage room boxes in the hallway and they packed them into the room. Overall they moved our stuff but it wasn't with the care I would expect for such a highly rated company on Yelp. You get what you pay for I guess. You need to make sure to micromanage these movers and look after their work before they leave and you should be fine. read more

This was my second time using Global Moving Systems' services. The first time was last year and the second time was a few days ago for my most recent move. Moving is always hard, however the Global Moving Systems team has made both of my moves easy and seamless. The team is professional, efficient, and personable. During my most recent move, Dago and Edwin were the movers who helped me. They arrived in a timely manner, were professional throughout, were adaptable with the needs of the move, and were very kind. Real person here, talking about our real move from DC to CA from 06/14/2022 to 07/03/2022. Global Moving Systems is great. The pickup was excellent, timely, and effectively. They accidentally broke the door, but then they sent someone out to fix it the next day, free of charge. The subcontractor that delivered our stuff in CA was horrible, KimVik Inc. (who will soon be getting a one star review shortly). However, Global Moving Systems and their owner have a lot of integrity. Global Moving Systems gave us a substantial refund, no bargaining, no questions asked, for the subcontractor's failings, and I knew that the owner truly felt sorry for how we were treated by the subcontractor. Global Moving Systems turned a bad delivery into a good one; based on the owner's integrity, you can trust them with your move! read more

I can't say enough about this company. We went with them for our move because of the positive online reviews and their competitive pricing. They did not disappoint! Diago and his crew arrived on time (in fact, a respectable 10 minutes early). Diago walked through the home, noting what was being moved vs. left behind. Within a few minutes, he and his three crewmen got to work. They quickly and carefully moved everything, traveled almost an hour to the new home, and then quickly and carefully unpacked everything. Nothing was damaged or lost. In fact, they went above and beyond, even moving a large couch that was already at the house upstairs for me. In order to get the couch to fit, Diago had to partially take apart a hanging light in the hallway. Not only did he take the light apart so that the couch would fit, he put it back together good as new. Diago and his entire crew were polite, helpful, and friendly. What was projected to possibly take 10 hours only took a little over five. Moving is never fun. But this company, and this crew in particular, made everything as easy as it could possibly be. I'm a customer for life. read more

Since the manager reached out to me to attempt to correct my concerns, I've decided to update the review to 3 stars as the manager and his workers care about the work. As I told the manager, I don't want a refund, and I don't want anything solved at this time. I'm moved in at this point, and I'm not about to take back tips I already gave. I'm simply leaving a review based on my experiences of what could be better done in the future. As the manager asked me, "why didn't you try to correct these issues when the move was happening?" I'd say please refer to the first post, but again... 1. I had to go to the bank (took about an hour) to get cash out to pay the movers. 2. At the time of the move, I was also busy moving and unpacking. read more

I contacted Global Moving Systems about three weeks prior to a long distance move from VA to TX. I very rarely leave a negative review; however, this was the absolute worst moving experience EVER. My first impression of the moving company was terrible when I saw one of the movers throw two banana peels on our driveway. He never asked where the trash was, but instead just threw it on the ground. I assumed he would pick them up after they finished packing up the truck, but he did not. It was a hot day, and we provided the movers with bottles of water. The same mover disrespectfully tossed an empty water bottle on the floor inside our house. Secondly, the crew did not bring any tools. So instead of purchasing a hammer down the street or allowing us to, the movers used a BRICK as a hammer to take our front door off it's hinge, and ended up scratching the length of our door frame. Thirdly, after the movers were finished I locked the basement door behind them. Unbeknownst to me, and without notifying any of us (there were three of us present), one of the movers went back inside our home to use the bathroom and left out the basement. One of our neighbors called us several hours later to notify us the basement was left wide open. Lastly, one of the movers continued to pressure us to pay in cash. When we offered to obtain a cashiers check, he kept insisting we pay in cash instead. This was extremely off putting and irritating. The entire moving experience was horrible, and despite the reviews, I would never recommend this company to any of my friends or family. read more
