My family and I tried this place when it first opened up a year or so ago. The service was poor, the food was adequate, but we were understanding because the place was not open for long. Fast forward to October 11, 2023. A birthday dinner for me. Italian food sounded great. This place is close to my house. Unfortunately, it wasn't the birthday dinner I had hoped for. Once again, the service was meh, the food took 50 minutes before it was ready, and then was delivered plate by plate over the course of 10 minutes, instead of all at once. And, once again, the food was just average. Certainly not worth the wait. The icing on the cake was when Julio, the general manager, came over to introduce himself after we paid our check. He had 50 minutes to introduce himself while we were waiting, but decided to wait until we were ready to leave to stop by. We were the last table on his rounds. And, when the service already sucks, it is certainly bad form to gather the staff and watch a game on the television behind the bar. Go serve your customers, not some sports team that doesn't give a crap about you. Lastly, if you have black cloth tablecloths, change them when you turnover a table, don't try to clean them with the previous diner's cloth napkin and think this is acceptable in any way. As they say, once bitten, twice shy. Never again. Never will I eat here. Never will I recommend this place. I could care less if they closed tomorrow. I'm read more

Good food, kind servers, professional attitude from the staff. They sure know how to make pizza!

I'm not a big review person, but I thought I would write about this place. The review is mostly on the food itself. I was here today for a work Christmas lunch thing. The interior is adequate, but I guess I was expecting more. The waitress was attentive and friendly, and overall did a great job. However, for our party of 9, the food came out at very different times. After the first 2 plates came out, everyone else waited at least half hour for their meals. Not trying to be inconsiderate, it just feels weird eating when nobody else has their food. Again, the waitress was very kind and attentive. So I won't knock anyone for that. I ordered the chicken madeira. When it arrived, the overall appearance was ok. But when I bit into it, it was super soggy. The chicken itself is battered, so I was wanting some kind of crisp or crunch. The entire plate was just drowned in moisture, which did not taste good. The taste of the chicken was gross too, similar to grabbing a frozen chicken breast and thawing in the microwave and taking a bite. The rice was drenched in wetness as well, and I couldn't eat it. Honestly the only thing that I ate was the steamed broccoli. That should say alot, since I eat everything. I really wanted to like this place, but I won't be back. read more

Could not be less impressed with this establishment. We made reservations for a large group. My nephew was going back to post after having time off for the holidays. We intended to gather to celebrate his visit and wish him a safe trip to following day. Upon entering the restaurant it was quickly obvious that there was no room for a party of our size, with all the tables taken by other groups. We were informed that they had "given away" our tables just prior to our arrival(which was in time). Furthermore, no estimate of when we would be seated was provided. We were stared at line a bunch of bugs while we waited. Staff ignored us fir fifteen minutes until someone informed us it would be 1-2 hours until we could be seated. The irony was, I had arrived early and held the door open for a couple and their child, these people were part of the group given our reservation. Epically unprofessional and disrespectful all around by this facility. I will go out of my way to avoid this restaurant. read more

Very good Italian Restaurant! Great portions. The food is outstanding! If you like Italian food, go to this restaurant!! Highly recommended for all Service is wonderful. Roman waived on us and he was exceptional! Great waiter! read more

We have had problems almost every visit. The food is fantastic, if you get it. We went and sat in the corner high top and barely got to order drinks. Never got the food nor bread! Walked down the sidewalk to Jersey Mikes we had waited over an hour and were starving. Next time, the food wasn't correct. It was good but the wrong dish. This time, to avoid service issues, we tried ordering online - Not available. Called, they are too busy for phone orders, sorry. Really, how are they still in business! read more

My friend and I went last night. The house chardonnay was very good. The meal I had was the carbonara with shrimp. They up charged me $5.00 for shrp that still had the tails on. Very mediocre at besy. My entree cost $32.50. There was no salad or soup to go with the meal. The bread was good, but they don't even ask u if u would like more. They just take your bread plate away. The tiramasu was the best and worth the price. My yotal meal cost me over $60.00. Believe me when I say it was not worth it. My friend got the chicken Giovanni. Her food was mediocre at best. If u want yo spend alot of money on a meal that is not that good, then this is the place to go. I do not recommend it at all. read more

Wonderful restaurant. They even made my husband's meal that wasn't on the menu. Everything we had was so yummy.

This place is a bit of a weird mishmash of vibes. The menu prices and server wardrobe would lead you to believe it leans fine dining but the layout and atmosphere is more low end sports bar. We had a reservation so we're seated right away. Server was friendly and attentive. When I asked for more bread, she told me it would be $1.25. Fine. But then she brought a third bread we didn't request, I clarified that we wouldn't be charged and she said no, this bread was because the kitchen was so backed up. So ... I should have just waited 10 more minutes to request more bread and we would have gotten more for free anyway. Some interesting cocktails. The lemon drop martini was described two different ways on the menu. It was fine. The pork ricotta was good as was the pesto chicken pasta. The pork carbonara was okay. The manager gave a very long and confusing explanation about how there was supposed to be a pork chop on top but the last chop they had was small so they supplemented with sliced pork. IDK. I didn't follow at all. Unfortunately I did find a few small pork bone shards in the dish. Which is not great. East side is in need of some restaurant variety, so will probably be back due to lack of other options. read more

Our son reserved a table for himself, hubby and I for a belated anniversary present. We have never been as we are still new to the area. It was a Sunday evening and they were busy and we were glad he made a reservation. Son ordered shrimp scampi and cheesy garlic bread for our apps. He didn't realize courtesy bread comes to the table but he and hubby ate every bite. They even unashamedly sopped up the garlic butter scampi sauce with the bread because it was so delicious. For entrees, son ordered Chicken Madeira, hubby the Penne Sausage and I the Pasta Primavera. We tried a bite of each other's entrees and they were all so delicious! Our server Eddie was running his legs off with so many tables to cover but our water glasses were never empty and the food was well worth the wait. The restaurant is casual even though the food is fine dining worthy. The Chardonnay was cool and crisp and perfect pairing for my meal on a hot summer evening. We will definitely return! read more

This place was recommended so we thought we'd give it a go. The inside looks nice and clean. Simple and not overly decorated. Our server was friendly but we saw the bus boy a lot more than the server and he was great. Food was okay. We ordered the garlic cheese bread off the happy hour appetizer menu. (Happy hour 3-6) the bread took a bit to come out but it says it's home made and was actually pretty good! It came with a side bowl of marinara that was mediocre at best. The sauce was very thin and lacked in flavor. Tasted a bit metallic like it just came out of a can. For the main courses we got the: Chicken parmesan- it had two large pieces of chicken that were good, over a bed of pasta, again with the bland red sauce. Chicken Madeira- 2 large portions of chicken, sauce was decent in flavor and the prosciutto added some extra flavor. The rice that came with it reminds me of a bland rice pilaf. Cannelloni- baked in Alfredo sauce. Two large rolls stuff with chicken and spinach. The chicken was in chunks and honestly the best of the three dishes. The Alfredo sauce was much better than the red sauce. Overall we may come back and try out different menu options. It wasn't bad but it didn't blow our socks off either. read more

This our second visit on 9/26 on another business trip for my husband. We like sitting at the bar. Our bartender was attentive and very sweet and made me a great dirty martini. We shared a giant bowl of the minestrone soup with plenty to take home for a cup the next day at the hotel. Delicious just like our last visit. I was torn between the Penne with Sausage and the Cannelloni which I had seen on Yelp. She said they were her top two favorites but the sausage is made in house so a special dish. I went with that and was cert happy! My husband got the salmon dinner over vegetables and it was cooked perfectly. Delicious and we look forward to coming back to try something new and saving room for dessert. The tiramisu was so good last time! I really want to try the cannoli next but saw the chocolate walk by. So many decisions. Great happy hour, too! read more

UPDATE: I've scaled the rating back to one star; my friend was ill all night. We've now both thrown our leftovers into the trash. I will not be going back, nor will she. I was so excited to have an upscale Italian restaurant on the southeast side of Tucson. Early reviews of this location were mixed, so I waited a bit and went there today for lunch with a friend. We were seated immediately, and asked what we wanted to drink. They brought a small loaf of very nice hot focaccia to the table once we had ordered. The service was friendly, albeit a bit slow, which are the reasons I did not award only one star. We had a short wait for our Caesar salads, which were drowning in dressing. By the time I got to the bottom of the bowl, the romaine was getting soggy, although the dressing was flavorful. The real disappointment was the entrees. I ordered the manicotti, which looked really good when it arrived. However, its looks were the only thing to recommend it. The filling had a very odd, grainy texture, the taste seemed to be a bit off and the overall flavor in each bite was quite salty. My friend ordered the pesto chicken pasta, pronounced the pasta very mushy, and said her dish was salty as well, and that at least some of the chicken was dry. Although we both took to-go boxes, since we didn't even eat half of our meals, I suspect they will both end up in the trash. I really wish I could have recommended this new restaurant, but I would instead suggest you eat elsewhere. read more

Absolutely horrible! much rather go to an American restaurant that has Italian food than this place. Chicken Madeira was recommended as the waiter's "favorite" - complete joke. I should have taken a photo of it... the rice tasted like it came from a TV dinner or that minute rice... It also came with two thin slivers of chicken that was apparently "breaded" but they were on top of each other which made them mushy and falling apart. It's sad that this is the first week of its opening. To respond to a previous review how it's a "sister restaurant " and that there's things that needs to be panned out from being new but COME ON! this is a restaurant, if the food isn't good then it's doomed. Let's see how long it stays open... go somewhere else! read more

Sloppy plating, food is barely above a mall pizza place, but somehow charges like $20 a plate. Restaurant is not very clean. Food is fairly bland. Seems like it was recently frozen. Dishes are the same old rehashed "favorites" without any creativity or developed flavors. I can't say I'm too surprised that about half of the reviews talk about food poisoning, based on the corner cutting and mediocre hygiene you too can observe by looking into the kitchen. read more

Came in around 3pm on a Saturday. The place was fairly dead considering the day before at 530pm was extremely full and was a hour wait. The wife and I had the appetizer Bruschetta which was pretty good with the sweet tomatoes on top. Our main meals were the pepperoni pizza and chicken madeira. The pizza was burnt on the bottom edges. Which I didn't mind but the center was still doughy. The chicken plate still had a heavy wine taste to the sauce. read more

Authentic Italian cuisine at very reasonable prices. Indoor or outdoor covered dining at the foothills of the Catalina Mountains. Our table offered a stupendous view. Wait staff friendly and attentive. The prepared meals were perfect and tasty. Exceeded expectations. We arrived at 3 pm when happy hour commenced. We shared a blended red wine from Torino in the Piedmontese region and stuffed mushrooms appetizer. My son ordered the meatball pasta dinner and I had the chicken Madeira which was served with a side order of blended vegetable rice. Steamed broccoli was exact. Portions were extra large. Strongly recommend. We will return. read more

This place needs to get their house in order. We ordered through DoorDash and it took over 2 1/2 hours to get here. The kitchen kept telling the DoorDasher that it would be another 20 minutes - but apparently they lied and it was another 20 minutes five times. This kitchen needs to Improve significantly. Food was ok, not great. read more

Guy answers my call without any hospitality, just had an attitude of not wanting to do his job. I still made a reservation only to get there and not be served at the time we agreed on over the phone. The food took long to make without it being that busy, which i now see why people dont go here. Once the food arrived it was mid not worth the wait, definetly not worth the price, the dough on there pizza was under cooked, even the lettuce in their salad tasted unwashed. Like how do you mess up a salad.....and the worst part was the roach i saw on the wall beside me as i left. I wish i wouldve saw that earlier and save myself the 2 hour dinner i had 40 min of that being me actually eating. Bad service, bad food, bad everything. Been here a total of 2 times the ladder being me giving them a second chance only to remind me why im never going here again. read more

I came here today with a large group and the restaurant was very busy. The wait staff was very attentive and polite. The ambience was lovely the restaurant has been tastefully remodeled since they moved into this new location. The menu has several nice selections to choose from for all types of eaters and diet restrictions. However, the items on the menu seem overpriced, especially the pasta dishes. Several of us ordered a pasta dish and were all in agreement that our various types of pasta were gummy and chewy in texture as though they sat in water or perhaps were added to the water before the pot was boiling. The chicken in my Pesto Penne dish was way over cooked, dry and chewy. We had a couple of reports that the dressing on the salad was bland and could've used more acid. I thought my pasta dish was bland and also lacking acid. Having said that it was supposed to come with roasted red peppers, but I asked for those to be held off. Especially With the pasta arriving over cooked with that gummy texture adding some thing like lemon, Kalamata olives, or artichoke hearts would've greatly improved the dish and made it more edible. Some of our eaters found the marinara sauce on the manicotti to be surprisingly sweet, too sweet, they thought. The manicotti looked to be undercooked as well. Overall it looks like there is still some work to be done to improve the food at this new location. I gave three stars for the excellent service. I'll try it again in a month or so. read more

We went for a late lunch/early dinner. Happy Hour started (3-6 PM). The restaurant was very clean. There were plenty of tables. They have a full-service bar. The Old Fashion could definitely upgrade the maraschino cherries to Lasardo or Filthy Black Cherries however the bartender did make a very decent Old Fashion (Buffalo Trace...hint, hint! Lol). The Shrimp Piccata was deliciously excellant! And the Chicken Marsala was a little shy with the linguine but still very satisfying (loved the abundant garlic!). I without hesitation recommend this restaurant! And our server/bartender, Andria, was fantastic with his patience and helpfulness. PS...we will be repeat customers! read more

We walked in at about 5pm. As we made no reservation the restaurant was full but we were to enjoy our dinner on the patio. Nice to arrive at happy hour so we could enjoy discounts on appetizers, cocktails and wine. We had a free wine tasting with good advice and knowledge of the wines. The food came in a timely manner and was served nice and warm. We had a nice dinner and the food tasted really good ! Good food, great people, glad to have this restaurant on the east side. Had the chicken Marsala. Good dish, I'm coming back for more.

First time for us to eat Giuseppe's. We were seated quickly and everyone we came in contact with was friendly. Ordered some of our favorite Italian food and wine. Our waiter was great and the food came out quickly and was obviously freshly made as it was very hot right out of the kitchen. My chicken Marsala was terrific and the quantity was large. Ate half so I'd have room for dessert which was tiramisu. Everything we had was excellent. The restaurant itself is small and family oriented. Great music playing, ambiance? Not exactly wine and roses type but very comfortable. Well definitely be back read more

Today's visit was the 4th time visiting Giuseppe's on 22nd. After arriving already knowing what we wanted to order, we were given menus and everything was changed. After speaking to the waiter he went to check with the kitchen and said as of today the menu had changed. How sad that number one, we were not able to order what we normally ordered but the waiter had no clue the menu was different. My niece asked for something with rice as she has a gluten allergy and can't have pasta and was told they no longer offer rice because they were throwing it away before able to use it all. I ordered pizza and it was served on a plate, hanging over the sides. The pizza also did not have fresh Parmesan and Basil as the menu stated. I had to ask for that to be added. Needless to say, very disappointed! read more

Nice cocktail menu and wine list. They have a happy hour with discounted appetizers, and we tried the stuffed mushrooms. Very tasty. The restaurant has ample seating, booths and tables and a separate bar area. I had the Chicken Marsala which was very good. Cannolis for dessert were good also. The server was pleasant, service a bit slow, but maybe because it was pretty busy. We will be back again to try out this nice spot on the Eastside. read more

I made this order through GrubHub since the place I usually eat at isn't open on Sundays. Sad to say it but I'm a bit disappointed considering the price I paid (not including GrubHub service fees). I ordered the chicken parmesan which comes with two large lightly breaded chicken cutlets and linguine. The taste was subpar, at least compared to various other Italian places that I've tried this same dish at. Sauce was flavored ok, but once again, I've had much better. The $8 slice of cheesecake was no wider than two fingers....comical really. There are definitely better Italian options in Tucson with prices that are comparable. I won't be eating here again. read more
