Pros -Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors -TVs all over the place -Food here is great (deep dish, Italian beef, thin crust you really can't go wrong!) -To go options to save you from waiting -To go frozen pizza to bring home Cons -Wait even though plenty of empty tables -You do have to wait 45+ mins for deep dish (this is obviously standard for anyone used to this but needs to be mentioned in case you have a time crunch -Small bar lack luster beer selection - blows my mind that more Denver restaurants don't feature actual Denver breweries. Overall - we enjoyed our time at Giordano's and it's great to have one in Colorado! read more

We came back when they first opened and tried the deep dish, which was perfectly fine. But as true Chicagoians know, deep dish is for events, not all the time, the true Chicago pizza is the thin crust, so that was the plan this time. Everything about it was perfect, but they cut it into triangles and not squares and I don't understand why? That might seem like a silly problem, but it's not authentic. So.... 1st off it's worth noting that they had 9 open tables at this place. NINE! Back in SoCal there was a great place called Tony's little Italy in Orange County where you ordered ahead your food comes you order some beer and you eat and drink like a king. This place, you have to wait to be seated ( they are not in a hurry to seat anyone, with a quoted 25 min wait on a Monday night even w 9 open tables. and then wait for a waiter and then order then wait for your pizza to come 45 minutes later.Don't you realize that your customers are kind of hungry? I order ahead knowing full well that it takes you a while to make a pizza. The host seemed annoyed at the question of why can't I eat there. She suggested the sketchy park down the street to eat at. When the pizza finally came, there was almost no sauce on it much like the other people have reviewed and an unimpressive amount of cheese it was mostly dough. It didn't really have much seasoning or flavor of any kind it was a total waste of time. I hope this place closest down. Bad service and bad food. First, we had to wait 20 minutes to get seated when there was seating available. They actually sat us at a table that was empty from the get go. Second, we ordered right away since we knew deep dish would take longer but noticed that two other tables who were seated after we arrived got their pizza first and then when ours arrived, it was not even hot. Third, we requested chicken parmesan to be brought with deep dish and it took them another 15 to bring it. Unfortunately, the spaghetti and sauce were bland and food, again, was not hot, meaning it was probably sitting in kitchen because server kept forgetting. We had to ask for drink refills. The one time she asked if she could refill our waters, she forgot and brought it after the fact --we were getting ready to leave. Server also kept making excuses for everything, even bringing us the bill was challenging. It was not a great experience, being that it was our first time going. There was something missing in terms of taste and customer service. We will not be recommending or going there again. read more

If you're going to order pizza that takes 45 minutes to cook...you better be sure it's in the hands of someone at least competent enough not to take it to the wrong table...and if you're in this place...they're not. Yep...we spent over two and a half hours in this place watching table after table eat and leave. They then admitted their mistake, told us they had already restarted our pizza and it would be ready in about 30 minutes.. almost an hour later we had to have a little chat with the manager...and they proceeded to bring out a semi cool pile of nasty. No one at our table even finished one piece of pizza. The only reason they got above one star is that they comes the meal. Literally....do not waste your time here. read more

Pizza was pretty true to Giordano's Chicago. It did come luke warm, however, and I struggled to get silverware. More critically, the place was in a state of upheaval, dirty. While the restaurant was still open, with customers trying to enjoy their pizza, the staff, en masse, begins moving tables, frantically sweeping (invariably creating airborne dust and filth) and cleaning. I ask: where were you when we first entered? It would have been nice to have walked into a clean place from the start. When I took a trek to the men's room, well before closing, finding it full 2-3 times in succession, I must have walked by 7 tables (in the back room) with dirty plates piled up, food on the floor, and a lone napkin folder is sitting in the same room doing nothing to address the situation. Food was on the floor in the main eating area and in the back. I'm afraid one of my pet peeves was sorely triggered. You clean the whole establishment after customers are gone. You do micro cleaning--little things-- all the time to keep it nice. One of the reasons for their wholesale table and chair moving stemmed from the failure to clean at all. Value: it's profoundly expensive to go it here alone. Bring a friend and split a pizza. It's a welcome addition to Denver. But when I had to shift, with my foot, piles of dropped pizza ingredients from a prior party into the thoroughfare, with the hope they'd get picked up, and seeing them ignored, it squarely placed another damper on the experience. I grew up right outside Chicago and understand long waits for pizza, that wasn't the issue. I've never had worse service in my life. Waitress was completely absent, had the worst attitude, and did an awful job at keeping our drinks full. Erin was terrible and every time we asked for water, it was like the biggest task for her. The staff is rude as ever. If management changed and they learned how to hire friendlier people that knew how to do their job, I would consider going back. Best of luck. read more

Our party of 5 arrived on a Tuesday around 5:30pm and we were immediately seated. We ordered a couple drinks and the deep dish pizza. We were warned that the pizza was going to take about 45 minutes to cook. I didn't have high hopes for the pizza as I'm not a huge fan of deep dish but this pizza blew my mind! Yum! Okay, so we went here for my good friend's birthday, he had been excited about trying this place. First location. I am not big on downtown places just because parking. But my review isn't based off that . I just think people need to know that they need to pick and choose what's worth coming down town for and I'm not sure this place was all that we were expecting. All though it was good, it didn't wow me. A friend order gluten free and it just wasn't good at all. I'm not gluten free by any means but I wouldn't even consider it if that's the type of food I had to look forward to. Oh and another thing. Yes I realize sometimes servers neglect bigger parties for whatever reason but leaving us without water for a while isn't a good move. That and probably because we had children at our table and it was geared toward adult time in there. The pizza itself was okay and I'm sure it was probably really good had it came out hot and not just lukewarm.... Our servers were nice. Do not bring large parties here for lunch! Last week, a group of 14 of my co-workers and I decided to visit Giordano's for a farewell lunch. We arrived and were seated promptly, which is about the only positive thing I have to say. Our waiter took our order and nearly an hour later, only a few of us had salads and wings, but those who ordered sandwiches or pizza waited upwards of two hours for food to arrive. When it did come, it was cold and some orders were incorrect. During this time, our waiter did not visit the table to explain what was taking so long. The only explanation we got was that "there is only one cook." No one offered any discounts of any kind for our inconvenience. Actually, a few of us who paid with cards were scammed and charged extra. (We checked to make sure that a group gratuity had not been added, as some places do.) Thankfully, one of my co-workers checked her receipt. You would think that for a busy downtown lunch spot, they would have their act together. This was a pure disappointment and we won't return. read more

A friend recommended this place after visiting in Chicago. Group of 3 came during lunch and were seated promptly, great. Our server asks if we can get anything to drink, we order some waters and a glass of wine. 10 minutes later the wine shows up before the water. We order some appetizers which were decent, but nothing to write home about for the price (mozzarella triangles and bruschetta-the tomatoes seemed canned and mushy and mozzarella was not fresh). After 20 minutes, our appetizers come out and we haven't seen the server to actually put our order in. The apps are dropped off and our server leaves. AFTER we finish apps, the server took 10 more minutes to check in on us. Keep in mind, we have been at the table for over 45 minutes and haven't ordered our entrees yet. We had opted to spend a good amount of money and split a few pizzas, but none of us were even hungry anymore at that point. After opting for a cup of tomato soup (Which is terrible. I had 2 bites and pushed it away. It tastes like Campbell's canned soup) and a side Caesar (The side salad was a good portion but had minimal dressing) to ease what little hunger I had left, I hate that I chose to spend my money there at all. Just overall, this place was disappointing. Maybe it's because they are new, but if the service and food were better, the wait times would be more manageable. read more

This place is just a disaster. Service: Terrible. We ordered 2 hours ahead, arrived 15 minutes before our scheduled time, and still had to wait for an hour. The hostess/counter was terrible. They had no idea what was going on, were trying to give pizzas to the wrong people, and generally were not orderly. The manager needs some serious leadership training and how to handle the front. Also, keep in mind they don't even make your pizza until you pay for it, so you better order online, pay online (on their terrible website), and hope to God they don't give your pizza to someone else. Angry customers constantly bombarding the front. People were cancelling their orders, yelling, and over all they had the same experience we did. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Food: Terrible. We had the Chicago Classic. Let me start with the crust. It was soggy, bland, and rubbery. Buttery and flaky were completely absent in the crust. The sauce was flavorless. I assume they just sucked the flavor out of it so you could enjoy the awful crust. The ingredients were amazingly low quality and sparse. The cheese was oddly solid. I mean, melting cheese is part of the joy, but no joy here. Location: I mean it's 16th Street Mall. Pizza with a side of extra pan handling and aggressive homeless people is always fun for the whole family. I'm not sure why they picked the area. Solutions: - Fix the leadership. You need experienced management in both the front and, apparently, the kitchen. Completely inexperienced staff can be mitigated with leadership. - Fix the kitchen. You need a head chef or the head chef you have is terrible. The kitchen was so far behind because it is being poorly run. - Fix the ingredients, crust, cheese, and sauce. Crust should be buttery and flaky, cheese should be melty and stringy, and the ingredients should be fresh and high quality. - Communicate with the customer. The lack of communication or the angry/poor communication is doing you no favors. I don't know what's going wrong here, but it isn't the Giordano's from Chicago. Being in the service Industry and reading the reviews on yelp, it sounded like a lot of people were making complaints new restaurants usually receive... we decided to go on a Saturday night non the less.... Was told our wait would be 1.5 hours, but it was less than 1 hour. It's a little chaotic at the entrance as the place is so busy..the texting to your phone when your table is ready is nice so you can go grab a drink, do some shopping. We ordered our deep dish right when we sat down as we were told it was about an hour wait, and again it was less. As we were waiting we ordered appetizers & drinks. Our server was attentive, our deep dish was amazing and cooked great. {Chicago classic} Only real complaint would be that my boyfriends fettuccine was dry. We have been to the Chicago location and this place was not as bad as most of the reviews are stating. They are a new business and anyone that has been in the service industry will see that. Definitely worth trying if your looking for some deep dish. read more

Poor management. Came here excited to have some delicious Chicago pizza and ended up waiting more than two hours and never got the pizza. Management said they had a backlog on pizza and gave a free appetizer which was spoiled calamari. Might come back but it will be after a few months once they have worked out the kinks. Ok, so first and foremost the pizza is pretty good here. I ordered a large pepperoni and sausage and it was jam packed with lots of delicious cheese. They could have put some more toppings inside as I hard a hard time finding any, but overall, a cheese lovers dream with a buttery and flakey crust. The thing that unfortunately knocked a few stars off this review was the service. Hopefully it's due to this location recently opening but I ordered for pickup and it was a total nightmare. The person who took my order got my name wrong (more than once) and that made figuring out my order when I got there really fun. The pickup area is so small! I was smashed into a corner surrounded by people and kids trying not to get hit by the door, which is designed to swing in to the small area and not out for some reason (I'm actually not sure why there is a door to this room at all). People next to me had been waiting up to one and a half hours for their orders and were pretty upset. I felt really bad for one gentleman in there who seemed to be having a panic attack from being stuffed into such a small space compounded by the fact that the staff had messed his order up epically bad and now were making him re order everything and honestly being kind of rude about it. As for my order, once we figured out what name they placed the order under, I waited for about another 45 minutes (I had ordered an hour and fifteen minutes prior to this) only to see my order come out mixed in with someone else's order and witnessed the person at the counter try to give it to someone else! I had to wade through the sea of people to the front and let her know that I think they had my order mixed in with another customers. She apologized and frantically started looking for the ticket. Thank goodness I still had mine (make sure you keep a death grip on your ticket) and I literally had to explain to her how to match the ticket to the pizzas in the small warmer behind her. I calmly explained that the number printed on the ticket matches the number written on the box of the pizza. She gave me a total deer in the headlights blank stare and said "I have no idea what's going on". If they were struggling so bad with the take out orders, it made me shudder to think what was happening in the dining area, which was also jam packed and chaotic. Overall, it's going to be a very long time before I consider returning to this place. Like i said the pizza is good, but not worth all of the craziness described above. Maybe after this place is here for a year or two it will settle down, but until that time comes, consider yourself warned! read more

Full disclosure I'm from the East Coast and I have never really been a big fan of deep dish pizza... they have a solution for that they have their own thin crust pizza... Now let's talk about the ambience for a minute... Because you're going to have to relax for a few minutes while they prepare you're a deep dish pizza... so my wife and I kick back made some friends and watched some football games... The staff and waiters and waitresses crew are fantastic I use a wheelchair and they make sure that my path is clear while escorting me to our seat our server was Ryan a.k.a. jimmy Fallon look alike LOL fantastic guy really familiar with the menu and great suggestions overall while stealing a piece of my wife's deep dish pizza I think I can become a fan of this... Ordered $75 worth of food for delivery at 7:11 & the estimated time was 8:40 which we were fine with. We did not get any notification if the pizza was out for delivery or anything. The pizza was left on the porch at 9:03!!! and when I picked up the box it was WET! The pizza was left on its side or in the rain because half of BOTH of our pizzas were soggy and deformed. This place could not give a single crap about their quality and service. I also ordered a house salad & that was actually good so that is where the 2 stars come from. I tried calling before our pizza was delivered to see what was taking so long, and no answer. I then called again once the pizza was delivered to explain the situation and again, no answer! Ok, so I've never heard of this place, but a friend pointed it out and we decided to go to lunch. I'm not sure if they are always this busy (or will be since I think they are new) but they were hopping. It took us a little longer than I am use to in order to have someone wait on us, but hey, they were busy. We both ordered the lunch special, a personal sausage pizza and cup of minestrone. After about 10 minutes, our server came back and said the minestrone would be another 15 minutes, so I ordered the tomato basil. The food came out, and our server informed me that they were out of soup spoons, so she gives me this huge kitchen spoon used for serving. I tried to eat the soup with it, but it was so big to fit in such a small cup of soup, I was eating from the tip of the spoon. It must have looked hilarious. The pizza came out not very warm and the middles were like room temperature. Mine wasn't as bad as my friend, that one was sent back and a new one came out. And to me, they were just 'OK' pizzas. Maybe the fresh, one hour pizza is better. I think since they are new, I will probably try again, but only if I'm downtown for something else. read more

Moving to Colorado from Chicago, I was excited to hear that a Giordano's opened up in Denver. They gave my pizza to someone else with the same name apparently and I had to wait an hour and a half for a whole another pizza. They comped my order but that was time I will never get back. You can tell the staff was still "trying to learn the system" as they looked and operated in an unorganized fashion. Just overall disappointed with the experience. 12/8/18 - Have to lower my rating as I had another bad experience with this place. Sunday football, thinking of giving this place another chance. Called in to place an order shortly after 11am (when they open) and was told that their ovens have reached full capacity and cannot take any orders right now. WTF??!! Was asked to call back a little later. I did and was told the same thing. Well after my last experience, this is one less customer you have to ever worry about filling your oven space. read more

This was my first time eating here, and I'm very disappointed with the service we had. The hostess seat us right next to the entrance, so when large groups came in people would stand around our table. It made me uncomfortable, because there was no distancing. We also had to deal with the smell of cigarette and weed smoke, because of where we were seated right in front of the large open window. If I wanted a patio seat, I would of asked for it. Our server made us feel rushed, and then after we did place our order he ignored us. We didn't see him, and had to ask the person walking around filling water glasses for help, because we decided to take our food to go due to the horrible experience. Finally! Chicago pizza has made it's way to Denver. My husband and I went yesterday (they're still not officially "open" so only the dinner menu is being served, lunch to open today or tomorrow). As the pizza takes 45 minutes (it's worth the wait!), we started with boneless BBQ wings, beer, and a tomato basil soup. Wings came dressed in sweet, sweet Baby Ray's sauce paired with a house recipe ranch. Devoured. The tomato basil soup was some of the best that I've had. Soup and I have a "thing"; tt's complicated, sometimes messy, but my relationship with soup is an important part of my life. The TB (yes, soup and I are on familiar terms), came with a dollop of pesto on top which played perfectly into the tomato-ie, basil-ie goodness. A couple of croutons and a little bit of parm... I felt blessed by the soup gods. The consistency was perfection too... not too thick, not too thin. And of course the Za... the main event. We were a little concerned with the altitude that our pizza wouldn't compare to the Chicago experience, but we were pleasantly surprised! It was everything we dreamed of... We posted up at the bar. The gentlemen working were engaging, attentive, and genuinely kind (they seemed pretty excited about the place too! But aren't we all?). I'll be back again and again and again... While on vacation we stopped by this nice corner restaurant Giordano's. It has such a welcoming atmosphere and gorgeous and very clean. Our server J was amazing.
