We had to wait about 20 minutes for bar seats, even though they had empty tables that remained empty the entire time we were eating. They seemed overwhelmed so the service was slow. I didn't mind spending extra bucks at this hotel to get the best spot to park so our plan was to park, eat/drink and go. With that said, this restaurant that's onsite of the hotel was the best choice instead of eating at the brewery at the arena. We arrived at/around 5:10pm. We were more than 30 minutes earlier than our reservation time but the restaurant was absolutely okay with our early arrival. We appreciated their flexibility. Once we had placed our order a rush of the concert goers started to flow in. In a matter of 10-15 minutes, the place was filled up to its full capacity. We were hoping that we'd get our food in a timely manner. And we did! As a matter of fact, we were amazed at how quickly they brought our food. Our waiter, Marcus was very attentive to our requests/needs. He even carried on a nice, friendly conversation with us despite the fact that he was busting his bottom to assist more than several tables. This is no fancy restaurant. The types of foods they serve are pretty simple and casual. But we were pleased with the quality of them. Nothing tasted bad. I was actually impressed with how good the salmon on top of my salad was. They appear to know what they're doing; they understand that people who dine there need quick service. This is a very efficient restaurant where they are capable of doing just that. We meant to have a large reservation with extended family walking over from Ball Arena and the State Championship. So a perfect distance. We went in ahead of a concert at the arena. We had a spiked strawberry lemonade and a Josh Cellars chard. Had southwest egg rolls with jalapeño mayo dip, and a Cali Burger. Tater tots were numerous and great. We were seated at the bar. Sarah took good care of us, but the other bartender couldn't seem to get any beer pints filled to the top. An aggravation to me. The interiors are simple, clean and they have a see through kitchen. We reached around 10:30 and were seated immediately, ordered a Manhattan, simple and delicious and ordered the cheese burger with a salad on the side and beef bahn mi burger with Mac and cheese. What a surprise! I am here on business and I decided to walk out of the hotel and grab lunch and wow was I surprised. This is a fantastic gem of a restaurant. I ordered the chicken club sandwich and was completely blown away. It is not a traditional club sandwich. I would highly recommend it as it is probably one of the top five sandwiches I've ever eaten. It's not really a sandwich it is a meal. Absolutely fantastic!!!!!!! Also be sure to order the brussels sprouts. I know everyone is doing brussels sprouts and I have to say these were one of the best. Order the chicken club sandwich. You will not regret it! I enjoyed my lunch so much that I came back later that evening and had dinner. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of the chicken club sandwich but I did grab one of the ribs. The ribs were great. Wish I could recall the young lady's name that waited on us as she was great & id like to give her some props. The restaurant & hotel are associated with the Metropolitan school on the same grounds & a lot of the students work in the hotel & restaurant & do an amazing job as they prep for careers in the hospitality industry. I would give a higher review because the waitress we had was really great. The food was okay- ( what we had at least) not anything to rave about especially for the price of it. My daughter got a buffalo chicken sandwich and the bread was totally soggy. The issue I have is that I asked for my burger without a bun and just lettuce- and I got charged $3 for a gluten free bun- when I asked about this I was told that they had to charge for the lettuce. REALLY?!! The burger came with lettuce- I got 1 extra piece and I paid $3 for it?? Degree Metropolitan is located in a hotel. I didn't realized this when we looked it up on a map. We went ahead and tried it. It was a slow night so there was a lot of staff and options to sit. Unfortunately the attention wasn't there that night. We had to ask to order food and it seemed that they were missing their regular bartender and had to fill in to make us drinks. The food was average. I ordered the B.L.A.T. The ladies were friendly, but more interested in the stories they wanted tell each other then engage with the guest. This restaurant is close or maybe a part of the Marriott SpringHill Suites we stayed at. This place has a good mix of food and courteous and accommodating service. I ate here with my family(hubby and 3 kiddos) and we each ate something different. The variety of food offered here would please a group that is indecisive and want varying types of food. It's 4 stars here because I just have a few but not show stopping criticisms. The Bahn mi or "you" that we had here had all the right flavors but the meat was sliced too thick for me and the bread was a little on the tough side. My family and I enjoyed everything else we had: the Colorado Club-flavorful chicken and nice bite to the bread; angus burger-patty was not dry and tasty; Gambas fritas-shrimp was not over cooked and served with a tasty Asian flavored coleslaw. I had lunch here last week (1/24/17) with a large group (11 folks.) We had pre-ordered our meals in the morning [We were having a meeting next door at the Springhill Suites] from a slimed-down menu to expedite the meal service. Upon arriving, the servers had a difficult time getting the appropriate drinks and meals to the folks that had ordered them. Additionally, the wait staff seemed agitated that we were in the restaurant. There were a few folks eating at the bar when our group arrived and the place was otherwise empty. I had the cornbread salad. It was supposed to contain pulled chicken, goat cheese, cucumbers, dates, tomatoes, sunflower kernels, corn bread, balsamic vinaigrette. The menu price was $13. I don't know what we paid as a group... The chicken on the salad was cold (I think cold was by design) and seemed like it was leftover from three days ago. The salad additionally contained a cornbread roll, a little lettuce, a little cheese and an unnoticeable amount of cucumber, dates, tomatoes or sunflower seeds. The restaurant was clean and it had a hip vibe. However, I'm almost 50 - so hip might not be something I'm qualified to judge... The beer selection seemed to be a plus. Great place to have a drink and dinner before a show! Ryan, the bartender, could be the best multi-tasking bartender in Denver! He always saw when we wanted something and was able to incorporate getting it into what he was doing at the time! The bar seats were pretty full but all tables were empty and the hostess was like " ohhh no reservation" well you can sit out in the lobby area. We were a little taken back BUT said what the heck?! Well OK. There was a large table that sat 6/8 people. We ordered several rounds and 2 sliders that was on the happy hour special. I asked what the waitress liked from here and she recommended getting the mac and cheese with bacon in it so i did. I usually don't have much expectations for mac cheese, but it wasn't the average home-made mac and cheese bowl kind of a thing. It was surprisingly pretty good - like a lot! I called the Hyatt which is where this restaurant is located and they told me that Degree doesn't open until 4p. I was scurrying to find an alternative before we went to see a show. I even left a message with my displeasure and never heard back.
