For a new restaurant with a new menu style that just opened and working out the kinks it wasn't bad. We were seated quickly during a decent lunch rush, waitress was short but got our drinks out quick while dealing with a packed section. Food came out quick and hot. The Italian beef was perfect with tender meat just the right amount of cheese added with peppers in the side. The personal pizza was great! Hot, cheesy and plenty of meat and perfect sauce to compliment the flaky crust. The app sampler was a meal in it self and well worth the price. Only misses were no dressing on the side salad (no big deal) and the pie was a little under cooked but still very good. I'll be back again for a full pie when there's more time and not a quick in n out lunch. read more

Hands down the best deep dish pizza I've ever had. The crust was beautifully cooked. We got a split cheese pizza and pepperoni, jalapeño, and garlic pizza and both sides were amazing. The drinks were also good, I got a cosmopolitan. The service was super quick (however if you get a deep dish pizza it takes 45min to cook, but it is worth the wait) and kind, and the ambiance and music were both top tier. If you're in Denver you need to stop by and try it. read more

Location was central to the Hilton hotel where we were staying making it an easy location to get to by foot. The restaurant seemed clean from the entrance, we didn't eat inside since I had ordered carry out. Service was great, the employee there was friendly and very prompt making my wait time experience great. A deep dish, and the sampler platter was ordered. The food was nice, hot and fresh. Mozzarella was rich and delicious, unfortunately the house marinara sauce was too sweet and chunky for our taste. The food was overall good however when trying to feed picky children it was a flop. read more

While trying to figure out what to eat for lunch, we decided on Giordano's. We were greeted by the hostess and seated. Our server was so friendly and knowledgeable. I apologize I can't recall her name, blonde hair and blue eyes and a incredible personality. She recommended the deep dish Chicago pizza. We started with the calamari appetizer and cocktails. Everything was delicious! Then the star of the show, the Chicago deep dish arrived. It was awesome! We had leftovers for later and the whole experience was top notch. I absolutely love Chicago deep-dish pizza and have been to the Giordano's under the "L" in Chicago a number of times. That is a 5-star experience every time considering the food, service, price, atmosphere, and overall experience. However, this version of Giordano's in Denver...not so much. Cleary our waitstaff didn't want us there for the deep dish pizza as they did everything they could to sell us out of the 45min wait for a Special Deep Dish. We ordered it anyway with calamari and cheesy garlic bread. My son ordered the fettuccine alfredo with broccoli, no chicken. Long story short, all of the food was sub-par as either under or over-cooked but I want to focus on the Deep Dish Pizza. The large special we ordered had 5 tiny pieces of sausage on it, never found a mushroom, one piece of sliced green pepper per slice, and an entire onion on the pizza. Pretty bad having had this 'Za before dozens of times in Chi-town. The service was oddly standoff-ish. I was told there were no bathrooms but followed another dinner to the bathrooms and then they explained they are only for customers...which we were??? Dropped off food, came back around with a box and bill at the end. Then I gave my credit card, signed the bill and she came to collect it immediately and inspected her tip before we got up to leave. I love Denver, it is my home, but they still can't do Chicago hospitality like they do at Giordano's in Chicago. I wouldn't recommend and I won't be going back to this location. read more

First let me say that I am not a fan of the super deep dish pizzas cause I like to pick it up and eat a slice kind of like folded New York street style. My counterpart wanted the deep dish so we went with it. Sat at the bar and the tender (get it bartender) took good care of us. She let me taste a sample of a few of the regional brews and talked about her favorites. Lending a little insight to their flavors. Pizza was going to take about 35 min since it is double crusted and we were good with that. Pizza was thick, full of cheese and I thought lacked a little when it came to the meat. Didn't seem to be as much as I remember from my similar pizzas in Chicago. Sauce had good flavor and it still required a fork to eat the mound of food. I ate four pieces after an appetizer of cheese sticks ( i mean triangles) which they were sure to point out. it reminded me of the song: " I did my best, but I guess my best wasn't good enough....) to finish my half of the pie. next time I am going for the medium (thin) crust but not the cracker thin to see how it compares to Chicago's version. Don't listen to the negative reviews. This place is just as good as the Chicago location of Giordano's. We came on a Saturday day morning. We were greeted right away. Server came to get our order within a few minutes with kids menu as he saw we had kids. Pizza was delicious! Will come again and again ! Great place downtown. My friend and I, both from the Northern part of the Midwest, were stoked when we found Giordano's downtown. We took the opportunity to grab dinner last night, and even though they said the wait would be approximately an hour, we were seated in about 20-25 minutes. Our waitress was very good, and made sure we did not go thirsty. We ordered the mozzarella triangles to start, and they were decent. Nothing overly special, but fried Mozzarella can only be changed up so much. We ordered one large pepperoni and sausage stuffed pizza and an Italian Beef for my fianceé. The pizza was delicious, the sauce was very smooth and had a delicious complimentary taste to the toppings and cheese underneath (that's right, underneath the sauce! Chicago style pizza is da bomb). Unfortunately, the Italian Beef came out 20 minutes after our pizza, at which point we had already been well into our pizza. They did apologize as they were busy, but they did comp the sandwich for being so late, which I appreciated as that meant I didn't have to ask them to comp the sandwich based on its flavor. My fianceé ate the sandwich, but it was easily the worst we had ever tried, and the fries smelled so nasty I had to ask her to move them as far away from me as possible. I don't know if the parmesan cheese they put on top of their fries went bad, or if their parmesan really does smell that bad all the time, but it was not a pleasant experience for my fianceé. Thankfully we did have a couple of small slices of our pie left, so she took those home and can enjoy those for lunch today. Overall a very pleasant experience, and even though the restaurant was busy, our waitress was great. Avoid the Italian Beef, but certainly order the stuffed pizza if you're looking for a slice of real Chicago pizza! (I've heard they even fly water in from Chicago to give it the true authentic taste, almost as if you were off Michigan avenue). If I could give zero I would. Ordered the deep dish pizza, they put mushrooms in it - didn't ask for mushrooms. Told the waitress it had mushrooms in it and we don't like . She said okay and took the pizza and walked off. No sorry, no ask to get a corrected pizza...won't be back. UPDATE - They asked me to email them to make it right...did it same day they asked...no one ever reached out and been a week. Just solidified why the employees are the way they are. Despite being a Denver native, I have a deep affinity for thick Chicago pies. It has been over a decade since I was at Giordano's in Chicago and typically get by with Jimano's or Patxi's. I waited a year to try this place because I didn't want to a deadpan experience, and then came when they were not busy to avoid some of the slow service and long waits people complained about. All that said...I really enjoyed my experience here. The service was absolutely fantastic from friendly greeting to fast refills to a dead on 45 minute delivery time of our large pie. Our service pro was Dakota D and he nailed it. We had a family of 6 and it was no sweat! The house salad and cheesy bread came out in less than 10 minutes, maybe even 5, and were fresh and tasty. The bread itself could have a little more density to it, but that's my preference speaking. The salad was very fresh and almost entirely used high grade greens, not cheap romaine or iceberg. The main event showed up at nearly 45 minutes exactly as a deep pie should...we ordered a large with pepperoni, green pepper, and shrooms. Crust was buttery flaky and crispy at the edges, mozzarella was gooey and plentiful, toppings were modest but not skimpy, and sauce was rich but a lack a little zing. I don't think it needed more acidity, just a little more garlic and basil to wake it up. The sauce isn't bad and it may just be my preference, but all that bread cheese needs a little more punch with it to make a 5 star pie for me. The lady sitting near us was from Chi town and had a friend who ran a Giordano's and she didn't notice and big difference in the product, so good to know. I rarely have time for a long meal downtown, but I definitely plan on making another stop in after my annual holiday weight purge! read more

We were excited to try this place as we have lots of friends who rave about it. Unfortunately it was not a good experience. The server was slow and did not help us much. The pizza wasn't baked all the way through. The top layer of crust was totally raw. I would have told the server but he never came back to see how the food turned out. Update: Went back, this time the server forgot to put in our order. After over an hour of waiting for our pizza, she said she just put in the order. We wait again. We were using a gift card so we also ordered an apple pie skillet to use the balance. She brought us a chocolate cookie. When I told her it wasn't what I ordered she said it was apple. Even tho it clearly is chocolate. Idk how you can argue about that. We were late to our next event. We will not be returning here. read more

Ordered takeout. It was a 2 minute drive from my hotel. It was cold already by the time we got in. They forgot the bruschetta toppings, it was just bread and cheese. The calamari was undercooked, the cheesy garlic bread was probably the worst I have ever had, it's was rubbery and just weird tasting. The fries were soggy at best. Ordered a cheesy bread and a Greek salad @ 9:10pm - did obtain til much later til after 9:45pm. Ordered two salads and when inquired about ... "Where are they" waiter suggested he thought we wanted all our food together. Has he never heard of course's? Or think ... that just maybe ... WE ARE HUNGRY and would like any food ordered immediately? Waiter would sit down next to other customers shooting the breeze while ignoring us. Waiter was brash, almost as though he was ... on another planet and we were lucky to be in his presence. A fight broke out on the street while sitting there. Unfortunate for business owner that crackheads have taken over surrounding area. As a Floridian on vacation - perhaps it's time to think about cleaning up these streets. read more

The service was subpar, at best. We were seated with no silverware. Our waitress, Cyerah, spent 10 min chatting with her coworker before greeting us. When she did, she was very rushed, as if we were an inconvenience. The wait time for the deep dish was quoted at 45 min. We were finally brought drinks, with no straws. At this point, we still had no silverware or napkins. Eventually I got up and got my own silverware and straws. The waitress was not interested in checking in on us and spent the majority of her time sitting in the back office, which was in view from where we were sitting. On several occasions, I looked up to locate her and found her sitting in the office with what appeared to be a manager on duty. Also, there was a piece of plastic in our pizza. Our server was very friendly but that was the extent of the positive. The outside seating was so overcrowded that there was no room to even walk between tables, which also made it incredibly noisy. 3.5 stars. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and we finally decided to do takeout as our weekly Coronavirus restaurant outing. Online ordering was easy and pick up was a breeze...no traffic on the roads and parking space steps from the restaurant. I thought the chicken sausage and spinach selection was too salty. Yes, sausage is salty but it didn't taste balanced to me as a whole. I've simply had better...Patxis and Zachary's in Oakland to name two. It took over an hour for our pizzas to arrive and we watched other tables that were seated after us get their food first. They missed a couple ingredients on mine, but it was still tasty. Didn't realize they missed it until halfway through. Server was super cool and funny, good dude, but pretty slow with beer refills unfortunately. Also tried super super hard to upsell us into pitchers; which is kinda his job, but also slightly annoying. In the end it's just kinda OKAY pizza that takes forever. The best part about Giordano's in Denver is that it tastes as good as the original Giordano's in Chicago. It's great to have my favorite pizza nearby. It's in a nice spot I. The 16th street mall and the location has a Carey out area and they stock the frozen take home stuffed pizzas. My only ask is for them to review their preorder policy. Chicago peps are used to being able to place a preorder to cut down on the nearly 50 minute wait for the pizza. read more

Disappointing. I don't mean the pizza. I've eaten Giordano's in three states. It's consistent. What's different in Denver? We had terrible service and were marooned for two hours on a weeknight. Let's start with the good: The cheery host quoted 15 min for a table; we sat in seven. Windows abound, affording a nice view of the 16th St. Mall (for better or worse). I'd go elsewhere in Chicago, but Giordano's deep dish delivers in Denver. Quality ingredients & good sauce carry the somewhat bland crust. The bad: After being seated, our server, "S," took 10 minutes to acknowledge us. Asked about the three guest taps, she gave an exasperated sigh. "You *would* ask me that." Well, yes. "I guess I'll have to go and *find out* for you." She didn't. She was able to remember 2/3, but then told me they were out of both. Great! Knowing that deep dish pies take 45-60 minutes, we placed our entire order at once. Meanwhile, the empty tables around us filled up. A looong time passed. Suddenly, we noticed that everyone around us was eating deep dish pizza. We were not. People seated 20 minutes after we ordered were digging in. "S" served our neighbors, assuring us, "Your pizza's up in four minutes." Try 15. She did refill our drinks once, but we next saw her when she dropped off a box and our check without a word. The box was too small. Whoops. We asked for another. We waited for her to come back, watching her cowtow to a large table of six nearby. They probably felt welcome. Two hours after arriving, we left. Pizza is the same as what I had in Chicago. Very good!!! We were very disappointed that they charged an 18% service fee on the bill that isn't for the waitress. Never heard of anything so ridiculous!!! Not to mention a Covid fee on top of that! I'm all for fair pricing but this is not good business. I stumbled upon Giordano's while trying to figure out where I could go that wasn't fast food ala Chipotle but wasn't fine dining like Capital Grille - somewhere right in between. Giordano's filled the bill nicely. The waiter was enthusiastic about the beer selection, sandwiches, pizza, salads and volunteered his favorites - The Parmesan sandwich, which I tried. Very flavorful and the sandwich size was generous. You could choose between a side of fries, a house salad or minestrone soup and I went for the latter, which was hot, and delicious. I also had a small salad called "The Italiano" with pepperoni, olives, peppercinis, mozzarella heaped atop a bed of lettuce. I also had an American pale ale that was light and crisp, The Lizard King; another recommendation from my excellent waiter, Dan. Pizza is a pizza is a pizza. But dare I say there is better deep dish... even in Denver? I was absolutely floored when I heard Giordano's was opening in Denver! I have a bit of an obsession with Chicago deep dish. I had to make it a must visit and booked a reservation soon after opening. Upon arrival, the place was overflowing with people. I was sat and I immediately gravitated toward the deep dish section of the menu. We ordered a meat heavy deep dish, sat back and prepared for the 45 minute wait that usually comes with deep dish prep. I have no problem with this wait, larger food requires more oven time. 45 minutes goes by, no pizza Hour goes by, no pizza Hour and a half goes by, our pizza finally arrived. Not a great start. Base of the pizza was a bit soggy, almost floppy, but generally held its shape. The sauce was a bit sweet and almost burned onto the pizza. Might have been slightly over cooked. Crust was lackluster. The entire pizza was just ok. Nothing spectacular, not what I expected from "the best deep dish in Chicago." If you are looking for a much better deep dish, take a venture to Patxis Pizza off University and Hampden. read more
