I have to start with appearances, and Ghost Kitchen had some things right and others wrong. Immediately I was struck by an unappetizing odor; it was somewhat stale and a definitively fishy. No idea why... The menu board was attractive and lists quite a selection of options from four different potential 'restaurants'. The options were diverse and I was excited to make a selection. The staff was a bit disinterested, and I saw a couple other employees wandering around the back, it didn't have the tight busy air most restaurants have. I went for the popcorn chicken, and it took a long time for what it was. Once I had it I hustled home without checking it out. Once home I realized, this chicken was sub-par. Stringy, tough, and only crunchy sometimes. I would never order this chicken again, and it unfortunately was a negative enough experience that I doubt I will ever return to Ghost Kitchen.

I need this place to do well and expand because I love what they are trying to do!! It reminded me of food court at a Korean grocery mart in big cities. They have many different food choices and they all looked appealing. I ordered some k-rolls (kimbop), fries and boba milk tea. I tried all the different flavors of rolls and my favorites were tuna and Bulgogie (beef). I can eat them all day every day. Boba milk tea was a good size and perfectly refreshing. Works so well with other foods. Fries were well seasoned. Little on the salty side so it works good as a side. Kinda like pub fries so that it attract some drink... perhaps beer or boba. I heard from some other people that the chicken were little too salty. I haven't tried it but I want to try it next time and see it myself. I heard that the radish pickle that comes with it as a side makes it up. There is no seating. Everything is take out basis. You can grab foods for lunch and eat in the car. There are plenty of parking spaces. I wish they gave us compostable containers but there were a lot of plastics and styrofoam. I hope they change this soon. I'm so happy that Anchorage has this tiny area that serves some quick Korean foods to grab! I can see myself coming here again and again.

I like their menu because it has a good variety, and the food is pretty solid overall. The dine-in service has generally been good, and the restaurant itself looks clean, modern, and comfortable. That said, the takeout experience has almost always been on the slower side throughout the years, so that is one area I think they could improve. Still, Phonatik is one of the better pho restaurants in Anchorage. I really think they have a lot of potential, but they may need to step up their game a bit to become truly outstanding.

Interior is modest, simple, and felt clean enough. Our table had hoisin sauce, sriracha and a pot of chili oil. There was oil on the underside of the pot of chili oil though, which was a cleanliness issue. Our family got the all shrimp fresh rolls, a seafood pho, a mixed beef pho and a small kid size chicken pho. We also tried the hazy IPA beers on tap. Notes on the food: the rolls were okay. The peanut sauce was a touch too thick and lacked dimension in flavor. Ingredients inside the rolls were fresh but would've been improved with a little mint, basil, or other fresh herb. Seafood pho was decent, but I longed for a fish ball, fish cake, or other item besides the imitation krab. I picked out the squid because it was too chewy. Our server was cheerful and pleasant, and parking was super easy just outside the front door. Might be back if in the area but I think will continue my pho search elsewhere next time that pho craving hits.

A fried ono fish burger, a seared ahi sandwich, cheesy seafood dip, and the cookies. Everything was awesome! The fish burger had lilikoi tartar sauce and the fish was super fresh tender and flaky. The ahi sando had chopped kimchi and a garlicky mayo. The dip had a touch of smoke and didn't taste fishy. The cookies were bigger than I imagined and were excellent especially with the generous sprinkling of maldon sea salt crystals. If I was forced to split hairs, I'd wished the seafood medley in the dip (shrimp, halibut, etc) were chunkier so you could identify what was in each bite. It was more whipped or creamed together. I also think the cookies would be better if they were just a little thicker, although I can see the allure of a thin crispy cookie also. The cost was pretty expensive, but the ingredients they use are fresh and high quality so you can see where the money goes. The staff were really above-and-beyond friendly. They quickly set up an extra folding table for our family when they noticed we had no where to sit. Please visit this food cart (and follow them on socials, to keep track of their weekly specials) -- let's keep them in business! Anyone can see they take a lot of pride in their food both taste, image and creativity. I can't wait to try more things from Familia.
