Like many others I was hesitant to even try this place based on the overall review average. However, the nice thing about being active on Yelp is that you can peep what your trusted Yeeps are saying about a place. And I peeped my Yeeps, and I like what I seen. I do not at all mean this as an insult: it reminds me of the Asian places in Kotzebue. Why: - Ambiance: it's very "trusty rusty" if you're a neat freak, it's probably not for you. - The neighborhood: aviation companies surround it. - The food: it's got various Asian cuisine and then it's also got a bunch of hamburgers. They are not yet "fused" like they are in the trendier/big city restaurants. Having said all that, it's very good food, especially for the price! Anchorage has great Asian food, but not very great Chinese food. Not so here! I got the spicy BBQ pork plate and it was fantastic. Came out quickly, was piping hot and had some of the crisper veggies I've ever had in Alaska! If you're near the airport, but not flying out, this is one of the only places you can eat at. You should give them a shot though. Don't be afraid of the (current) 2.5 star average.

Vegetable omelette, sautéed vegetable, diced small-real cheddar cheese; fluffy egg like Waffle House down south

Huge fluffy 3 egg omelette, vegetable diced small/ sautéed perfect. Large oval plate covered in food. I can never finish. Which is very rare. $18.00... spendy but for Anchorage plus food volume an extremely good deal. Last the food is consistently cooked perfectly. Which is hard to find in Anchorage

I was going to take a pic when fresh buy I got distracted eating the delicious food!! Sesame chicken/sweet & sour chicken combo. Yum!!

Went here for some good ole comforting chinese food today. The take-out was quick and the women inside very friendly. The food though, the food was fantastic!! I've lived in the area for many years and somehow never found this gem. Maybe because the ratings are so low. I cant imagine why it would have low ratings. Unless your stuck up and have an issue with the retro dining area. OR the regulars are trying to keep this spot from blowing up so they rate it badly in hope's people will stay away. (I'm going with a mix of both.. lol) Anyway, food was on point and service friendly. Will definitely be going back!!

    Late dinner. Craving Chinese!

Best Chinese food I've eaten in Anchorage! The beef is oh so tender! The breakfast is pretty amazing too! Super friendly service.

Hey there friends! We had an amazing dinner at the Glacier Brew house. Before I start, I will say…read morethat it didn't start off on the right foot due to some issues with the people at the front reception. Besides this, everything else was great so I did not deduct any stars. Let me explain. We were a party of 4 and just arriving from NY, we were hungry. We walked in at about 4:30-4:45. We asked for a table for 4. We were told the wait will be over an hour. They asked if we would like to sit at the bar area, same food and probably would get service quicker. I said sure. We both want to look for a table and there were none, so I just told the staff that we will go to the bar area and wait while having a drink. We were given a buzzer. We came across a Maria bar table with a nice couple sitting there, and 2 open seats. I asked if we could sit there and they said of course. They then Deb moved over 2 seats arguing gave us 4 seats. I was do thankful for them being so nice that I picked up their bar tab. I noticed that the dining area has at least 5 open tables for 4 and 1 for 6+. I went up to the desk and told them this. I was told they were fit reservations and I couldn't have a table. Long story short, 45 min went guy and there were still open tables, I E's not happy and let them know. By this time though, our waiter Marco cans over to us and said he would take care of us, which he did. I told the front desk to forget our table and have them the buzzer back. ** My review starts*** Marco was a great waiter taking excellent care of us. We had a great time with Marco and our new friends next to us. I ordered the halibut stuffed with crab which was outstanding. My wife ordered the salmon which was delicious as well, I particularly enjoyed the crispy skin of the salmon, yum!!! Our friends ordered the fried calamari which he enjoyed and his wife had the salmon over a Ceaser salad. To finish it off, I had to get the lava cake for dessert.....hey, why not, I'm in vacation lol! Everything was great, the food delicious, Super Marco s the best!!! Great service and a great time. Just a shame it didn't start off on the right foot. Lesson: make a reservation!!!!!

These are the real slow cooked grits not the out of a box quickie grits. Shrimp, slivers of andouille, and an egg (it says with bacon but I did not notice any). Marvelous flavors. Will do again. Carolyn had the brick oven tomato and mozzarella cheese pizza and love it. The bar had a little trouble with my drink, a Rusty Nail, but in they got it right Food is good and well prepared. Service can be a bit slow but then it was very busy. Lots of staff just busy. Great rustic interior with wood beams and open floor plan. Booths on the left for the restaurant (Reservations highly suggested). Bar and seating on the right with tables and some small booths. One TV (thank you), it was turned to a poker competition.

This was my first introduction to the Moose's Tooth Pub & Pizzeria, who placed respectably at #24. And I must say, as far as the food, it did not disappoint. We arrived with a large party, and it was extremely busy, but we got seated right away. Due to the volume of customers, the service was a bit slow as expected because of the high demand. However, when the food arrived, it was hot, fresh, and very delicious. I ordered from the veggie pizza section, particularly the Wild Mushroom Pizza, in a 10" and thin crust option. The taste, crispiness, and flavor were in the top 2% of all pizzas I've eaten spanning over five continents. It was portioned into four total slices, but I could only eat two. Most likely, it was because I had a large hummus side order, which was extremely fulfilling but very delicious. I also had a Pipeline Stout from the tap to wash it all down. Overall, these meal combinations priced out to be about $40 before tips. The 10 inch thin crust pizza felt overpriced ($15) for its size but more than made up for it in taste. Moose's Tooth is deserving of this title of the top 25 pizza spots within the United States.

I've had much better chowders elsewhere, especially when it comes to flavor and overall quality. The biggest disappointment, however, was the service. Our server wasn't very knowledgeable about the menu. During our meal, I asked three fairly basic questions: "What flavors of hot tea do you have?" "What is your soup of the day?" and another simple menu-related question. Unfortunately, he couldn't answer any of them. I have experience working in moderate- to high-end restaurants, so I understand that servers aren't going to know the answer to every single question. What bothered me was how the questions were handled. Rather than saying something like, "I'm not sure, but let me find out for you," our server simply responded, "I don't know," and left it at that. For me, good service isn't about knowing everything--it's about making the effort to find the answer and making the guest feel taken care of. That effort was missing during our visit. Overall, the food was just okay, but the lack of attentiveness and product knowledge from our server really took away from the experience. Unfortunately, based on this visit, Crimson didn't leave a lasting impression on me.
