    Pork Buns
    Katie E.

I ordered take out from here and spent well over $100. My family was so excited to enjoy this food but we were very disappointed. First off, the rice smelled and tasted of dish soap. The Mongolian beef and the meat in the pork buns both tasted like Burger King beef. The pork bun dough tasted like pilsbury can dough. The "king sized" egg rolls were more like small lumpia that were SO SALTY. The sweet and sour chicken only had a dash of sauce on half or the chicken. The whole reason we even ordered specifically from this place was for the pork buns. Never again.

We were in town on vacation and just got in from a long day of traveling so we decided to order delivery. This restaurant came up and we both love good Chinese food and this place did not disappoint. While the prices seemed higher than other cities the portions are rather generous and the food was great. If you are in the area and in the mood for good Chinese food stop by or order in.

The food I ordered on Uber eats looks nothing like the pictures. Obviously doesn't take pride in their work. Everything is flavorless. The egg roll did not taste good. I waited a hour just to get disappointed and still hungry because I'm not eating this.

I don't usually go to buffets but one of the guys talked me into it. This place is almost hidden in a little strip mall outside the Gov Hill hate at JBER. When you enter you'll immediately notice the large picture of what looks to be the Chinese government, kind of an off place for not. We made our to a table and was invited to help ourselves to the Buffet. It was well stocked with a nice variety of choices. The food seemed to be fresh and well seasoned. They continues to bring small portions out as needed versus filling up a large amount to sit, I like that. We each had a couple plates and could have had more. The ladies working inside were all very sweet and accommodating. Nice place, I would go back again for sure.

12.50 it's pretty good for an all you can eat Lunch buffet during the week in Alaska! Some of the dishes are deep fried and Americanized, while some are more typical Chinese cuisine and therefore healthier. For dinner there are some combo plate options, so you don't have to choose just one entree. Will definitely be back!

Came here for dine-in and wow I forgot how good Chinese food can be when fresh out of the kitchen. Place has been remodeled and menu tremendously truncated. We were the only diners here at 7pm Sat night, but witnessed many takeout orders picked up. No more traditional authentic menu (super sad!); see new menu photos. Egg rolls were delicious and well seasoned, but small for $2.50 each. Sesame chicken, Mongolian beef, and chicken fried rice were perfection for our Chinese fix. Peking pork (off menu but still available, without wrappers) was good, but needed to be fried a little more to caramelize the sauce and crisp up the meat; as-is, the sauce was overpowering. No more bonus treat with our $100+ order: they used to give crab rangoons, or a meat pancake, or something else which was always fun to experience things we wouldn't normally try. Not even fortune cookies with the bill (and told that's Japanese culture). Had to ask for a refill on waters. Soda was served by the can. Still recommend for the essentials and will be back.

Not complaining ab the price because I did use doordash but thankfully my white rice was good

I ordered my all time fav (chicken fried rice) every bite of chicken was slimy and felt like a p3ni$ in my mouth got egg rolls and they had no meat and the sweet & sour sauce tasted like water #disappointed

No Buffets so don't believe it what it says here. I called them and that's exactly what they told me.

Nothing really negative to report. But nothing really positive either. It's typical American Chinese food. It works if you have a craving.

When we got there we were brought to our seats. It was a long shared table for everyone. It seems as they were lacking some preparation, there wasn't a course menu on the table so you had zero idea of what you were about to be served. The first course came out, a carrot soup with an IPA. The IPA didn't come out for at least 5 minutes after the soup was out. Definitely some lag time there. Carrot soup 3/5 The short rib with golden yukon mashed potatoes was next with the caison which was amazing both the beer and the food. Short rib 5/5 The dessert was an interesting dark chocolate cake with burnt marsh mellow frosting situation. It was very dense and a large portion. I would have enjoyed the cake if it was fluffy and light after the big short rib entree. Dessert 3/5 The service was good overall, it was cool to have the brewers sit next to us and chat with them about beer. I think there's some work that could be done here at these events for the price of the tickets but overall the experience was very nice.

Other staff walked right past us without so much as a "someone will be right with you," which set a pretty uncomfortable tone right off the bat. We eventually got seated, but even with the restaurant being pretty empty it still took a while before a server showed up to the table. Our server wasn't rude or anything, but the energy was just completely flat. It felt like he could not care less about being there. Sodas got refilled once the entire night. Between being seated and appetizers, and again between appetizers and our entrees, he was basically nowhere to be found. The thing that really got me was being asked if we wanted boxes while our plates were still full and we were just sitting there having a conversation, never once offering to top off our drinks until we finally asked. It's a shame because the food really was solid and the restaurant itself has a nice warm vibe to it. ORSO clearly has a lot going for it and on a different night with more attentive service it could easily be a 4 or 5 star experience. For now it's hard to rate it higher than a 3 when the service makes what should be a really nice dinner feel like an afterthought.

It features a blend of barstool window seats, barstool bar seats, high-top tables, and standard-height tables. We went for a very late lunch, which made the quick food delivery and yet under-attentive service a little perplexing. Having spent last summer in London, the attraction at TCT for us was comparing and contrasting Alaska Halibut Fish & Chips with the British fare. I wanted to like the Tent City offering; I really did not. For the price ($28/ea), we got three modest pieces of fish and the equivalent of two servings of chips. Both the fish and the chips were mushy (undercooked), with a heavy batter finish in contrast with the light and crisp British offering. The accompanying tarter sauce was an odd raspberry-and-blackberry concoction that my family and I called a pickle aftertaste. The presentation, for the price and the atmosphere, was a confusing combination of a metal basket lined with wax paper (like a 1950's drive-through), plastic water and soda glasses (like a college cafeteria), and real silverware. Other reviews have high praise for TCT so, on our next visit to Alaska, it will be good to give them another try. The bones of this establishment are in place for a really special experience, but, today, for me, it was just "ok."
