Finally got to experience for myself. It was very good food. Unique sushi rolls. The service was very fast and friendly. Easy to be seated and order. Can't wait to come back in July !!

    Lo mein
    Danielle V.

Had the Angry Dragon Roll, some apps, and chicken lo mein. Complementary salad and miso soup was appreciated but the soup was pretty salty. The shrimp tempura and Rangoons were good, as was the lo mein. The angry dragon roll was eye catching but the spicy crab was too light and the spicy tuna wasn't spicy at all. I had high hopes but was a bit underwhelmed here. Service was friendly and the establishment was clean and inviting.

This is tofu on a fork... the noodles were chewy.

This was awful. We went to go grab something in Eagleriver, however every place we would go was closed. It's been a while so we tried. Service was fast, I ordered Pad Tai, daughter ordered miso ramen (excited for fish cakes as listed on menu in ramen), and then the dinner bento with orange chicken, and bao buns. Everything came out at completely different times. We watched our Daughter eat.. then I watched everyone eat, and then my food came. First Pad Tai had over cooked shrimp, stale peanuts on the side, tofu was burnt, and in slivers. Really bad flavor and noodles were undercooked. Pieces of chicken were in there despite asking for no chicken. Didn't eat but two bites. Daughter's soup was bland, boiled egg was marinated she like that but saw no fish cakes. When the server came back he said " oh yeah no fish cakes we are out." Then say that.. don't wait for us to notice all the missing ingredients I'm paying for. The orange chicken was so crunchy there was no chicken in the middle. Breading was odd tasting. Again did not eat. Bao buns were as good as ones bought from store my daughter stated. Over all never going back. Gross.

Combo pad thai. Very sweet. Not much spice, sour or umami

Maybe Jimmy should stick with making hotdogs because he certainly doesn't make very good Asian, but he charges a lot for smelly, tuna, and frozen egg roll products Skibidi -Unc

    Ceviche don
    Nicole R.

Underwhelmed by my last visit. As is the case everywhere these days, prices have risen significantly. Sushi rolls that used to cost $15 are now $18. The most expensive sushi roll I saw on the menu was $25 which is absurd. Bubble tea and similar soft drinks cost as much as $8-10. The interior hasn't changed much at all since my last review. It feels dated and cramped, especially since half the sushi bar was closed for seating because they were keeping takeout supplies there. I ordered the ceviche don, which I don't believe was on the menu last time I visited. The flavor of the ceviche was good, but I would have preferred larger chunks of fish. I found it strange it was served over a bed of hot rice instead of seasoned sushi rice like I expected. Service was inattentive but adequate. Food arrived quickly. This may still be the best sushi option in Eagle River, but there's certainly better sushi options in Anchorage.

    Mongolian beef and fried rice
    Sasha H.

Ordered Mongolian beef with fried rice which I paid $3 extra for. There was more onions than beef and their version of fried rice doesn't have any vegetables in it, and was very bland. $28 and it was not worth it at all.

Chicken Katsu, sauce was nothing less than perfect

How to make great choices 101: You Yelp obviously!!!!! I have been to Anchorage several times and have yet to find "That place." You know the one that's your go to anytime you're in town. We'll I just found it. Here is the breakdown: Pros: Morgan our waitress: is 100% a pro, extremely helpful, great knowledge of the menu, attentive, nice, detailed, and respectful. Sushi Chefs: Definite pros, you can see the pride they take in their work, very professional, and creative. Made up a roll for me with ingredients I requested without hesitation or discussion. Turned out to be Fabulous!!! Jimmy: A pro manager, he keeps his business current to include but not limited to the New Robot Server. That thing is amazing and a great answer to our current Covid situation makes him a real out of the box thinker. His staff also seem to think highly of him. Overall great operation. Only Cons: Extra sticky dumplings hard to manage Sashimi tuna was pretty much thawed but not completely. Obvious that we are not catching Blue Fin tuna here in Alaska so it has to be frozen to keep it safe to eat, but needed to be thawed a little better to serve as a Sashimi. I did hv a roll which had it seared, but I love my blue fin raw Those 2-things were the only thing holding me back from giving this place a 5. if I could rate it on a more detailed scale I wouldn't hesitate to give it a 4.8 Jimmy's has not seen the last of Bigmex! Without a doubt this is my absolute new must do Anytime I am in Anchorage.

Green seaweed salad. Fresh, Cold and crisp. Great balance of oil and salt
    B H.

Short hand review. Decent food. Seaweed salad above par Stick with the rolls, sushi or bento box At this time all staff are wearing masks. Dining area is cleaned, though lightly staffed, and busy with full tables. Limited options in Eagle River. Jimmy's Sushi bounces around at the top of the short list in this area. I would recommend stopping here if you're passing through. DON'T go for the Pad Thai.....believe me. Just don't.

Good flavor but the rolls are too small for the $. When I order a sushi roll, and it comes out the size of an eggroll I'm not impressed.

The space has a modern Japanese minimalist aesthetic--clean lines, warm lighting, and a refined calm that feels both welcoming and quietly upscale. It's thoughtfully designed without being cold, striking a balance between contemporary elegance and comfort. Shabu-shabu here is on the pricier side, but the portioning justifies it. The small shabu-shabu easily feeds three to four people, especially when shared properly, and nothing about it felt skimpy or rushed. Three visits in, it continues to deliver!

We used to come here when this place was Peter's Sushi Spot, the inside has not changed hugely…read moresince then, except maybe for the hot plates on the tables, should you wish to have shabu shabu. The hot plates are spotlessly clean, I did notice, and there were instructions on the wall on how to cook shabu shabu. We used to come for the Tempura Udon which was spectacular. We were seated very quickly, and water was brought out. I decided to go with my benchmark dish, which always gives me some idea of whether I will return or not, and ordered chicken fried rice, husband got the tempura udon, so he could compare with the previous Udon we used to get here. I noticed that their soft drinks are only $2 which is an excellent price in my opinion. I got a Canada Dry as I love ginger ale. His Udon came out quite quickly, and we could instantly tell that the broth did not have the same depth of flavour, as when we used to come here, (it was quite smoky and very umami) and this one has a distinctly seaweed tang. Thats not to say that it's bad, it's just different. The noodles are also not quite so dense, chewy or toothsome. Additionally the tempura was somewhat of a letdown. The shrimps were very slimline compared to the display on the tv. There was an onion ring, that was also quite thin. Just not a good representation of tempura. Also, comparing with the Udon that used to be here, you also got a cup of miso soup, and a small salad with a carrot orange dressing. Those are gone. As for my chicken fried rice, well the presentation was excellent, it came on a beautiful plate, and looked very appetizing. The first couple of bites were really nice, plenty of carrots, broccoli, chicken, however I soon started encountering tender crisp onions. Which I cannot eat. They give me violent stomach pains. I can only eat onions that have been cooked down to almost mush. Anything raw or that has any element of crunch to it is a no-go, as it will make me ill. I found it somewhat unusual, as I get fried rice all over town and have never encountered chunky onions before. I'm sure I could have asked them to leave them out had I known they were going to be in there. It tasted good, for sure, but having to continually move the onions aside (and there was a lot of onions) was offputting. Normally when i get fried rice, I eat some, and take the rest in a to go box. I did not take the rest home this time which is very telling. Anyway, service was excellent, and they were very attentive - for instance our server saw that my husband was giving me a spoonful of his udon, and without being asked he came over with an extra spoon, small bowl, and a ladle, which I thought was very thoughtful. I cannot fault the staff.

I really liked the way they had the inside decor, it was really set up nicely. I was looking at the beverage menu saw, Sapporo, okay great beer for a Sushi experience. I guess after looking over the Sushi offerings, it was hard to find a clean roll. Clean roll, to me means, no imitation crab in their roll. The one clean roll was the Spider Roll which we got 2 of. Of the 5 rolls we got the Spider was the favorite to me, I got the Hot Lava Roll not my favorite, but my wife ordered the Crazy Devil Roll it was good, and another clean roll was what my daughter got the 911 Roll. We all shared amongst the 3 of us. Something else missing was, miso soup or a ginger salad staples at Japanese Sushi places. Daughter's husband got Teriyaki Chicken, not a sushi guy Lol! I did get him to eat 1/2 a Spider Roll piece. Overall a 3.5 for Sushi, but ambiance 4.5. What I'd like more is clean sushi offerings, Naruto style, and a must have Unagi (Eel), Sweet Shrimp w/deep fried heads, Toro (Yellow Fin Tuna), and maybe some Alaskan Crab! Imitation crab is for newbie/beginners. Also too many offerings of cooked Tempura Shrimp added to many raw rolls. Elevate your Sushi Game!

A mango roll and orange chicken with rice. Aside from our food being brought to our table no one came to check on us again. Our $3 sodas never got refilled. Our water never got refilled. The mango roll was really good. But the orange chicken was really bland. In the past I would rave about the orange chicken here. This meal was a total let down. The chicken had minimal flavor, the orange sauce they used appeared poured on at the end and watered down.
